Once upon a time a company known as Old Spice

made some products many people used.  And then they decided to branch out, and I think there's the problem.

I used to use their Original Scent body wash, for instance.  For years.  And then it disappeared.  Then the Original Scent High Endurance Deodorant went away.  Coincidentally at the same time the 'husbands and wives arguing over who gets to use the Old Spice' got going.  So it appears that, while trying to appeal to ladies, they decided to dump that 'Original Scent' stuff.

Mind you, they've got a bloody pile of new scents with idiot names, so why get rid of the original?  Maybe someone decided their Desired Demographic wasn't into that aroma, or it had connection to old tough guy images(sailors, loggers, etc.) Corporate didn't approve of anymore.

I looked at the company page on Book of Face, and some people did bring up "Why's my favorite gone?", and the response(as I recall, a couple of months ago) was basically "Well, things change, so we had to change, enjoy the new stuff!"

Which makes me wonder how that "Get us a new demographic!" stuff is going.  Personally, I hope it bites them in the ass.

Some people are really unhappy at the rise in home schooling;

some are probably actually worried about kids getting a decent education, the rest are worried they aren't getting the required .gov indoctrination.  And the fix is more .gov control.

One more raped and murdered girl, two more illegal aliens

and more blood on Biden's and Mayorkas's hands.
"Franklin Jose Pena Ramos, 26, and Johan Jose Rangel Martinez, 22, "both illegally entered the U.S. without inspection, parole or admission by a U.S. immigration officer on an unknown date and at an unknown location," a spokesperson for the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement said in a statement to PEOPLE.

Ramos had been detained by border patrol agents near El Paso on May 28 and Martinez had been detained near the same city on March 14, the spokesperson said. The Venezuelan nationals were then released on an orders of recognizance with notices to appear in court at a later date.

Both men are now being held in Harris County Jail on capital murder charges, the agency spokesperson confirmed."

This, possible Medicaid fraud, and the EffingBI

intimidating people.  Ain't it wonderful?
Sivadge also saw that many patients had underlying issues, including past suicide attempts, autism diagnoses, depression and anxiety. She felt these issues were being dismissed in the name of prescribing hormones and other forms of transgender care.

“Many of them had previous ER visits for attempted suicide, many of them are autistic, many of them are depressed and anxious, and that’s really devastating because it’s really clear there’s something else going on in addition to having confusion about their sexual identity,” she said.

“That just really devastated me.”

Some doctors who really need to lose their license, and spend some time in jail

I promised, here's what I had a chance to try: the Garmin Xero C1

It's a portable doppler radar chronograph.  Which means no- well, let me list setting up my Chrony:
Make sure the range is cold.
Take the Chrony, which I'd already put on a camera tripod and put the sunshades on if needed, and take it out ten feet from the muzzle(approximately).
Align it with the bore.
Go back to the rifle and look through the sights.
Go back out and make adjustments(height, level, twist left or right)
Go back and check it again.
Usually curse and go do it again.  Maybe a couple of times.
That's if you want it where you can fire at a target and get the readings.  If all you want is velocity, can just set it up so you're shooting into the berm.
Don't forget to turn it on, and you can start shooting.

The procedure with this:
Take it out of the box.
Put it on the tripod.
Set it on the bench('5 to 15 inches to the side of the rifle, 5 to 15 inches back from the muzzle').
Turn it on, choose a couple of settings, then start shooting.  It'll give you the high and low velocities of the string, standard deviation, and will work on rifles, pistols, arrows, and pellets.

It saves the data so you can review it later, and it has an app you can download to work with it.

Internal battery, comes with a recharging cable.  There's not a charger, instructions in the manual say
  1. Plug the large end of the USB cable into an external power source, such as an AC adapter or a USB port on your computer
so it will apparently work with any charger.  Yeah, I'll ask about that to be sure.  Battery life is two thousand shots or six hours continuous on.

And it's TINY!  3x1.4x2.4", and weighs a whole 3.75 ounces; a hefty 5.7 ounces with the tripod, which is included.
I had about a half-hour messing with it on an indoor range, and I'm impressed.  I had a couple of lanes between myself and the next shooter and there was zero confusion with their shots.  I've read that if someone is close enough, like next lane, it may sometimes pick up their shots.  I may have to start saving up.
Here's their site if you want all the specs

The Brownshirts really seem to like NYeffingCity

"A Jewish mom and her husband were attacked and beaten at a Brooklyn elementary school graduation by an Arabic-speaking family — who taunted them with shouts of “Free Palestine!” “Gaza is Ours!” and “Death to Israel!” she told The Post.

The mayhem erupted at PS 682 in Gravesend just after the school’s fifth-grade graduation — which was themed, ironically, “All you need is love.”
And, unsurprisingly, it appears the PD and school are trying not to say it's a hate crime.

One last thing: a few years ago Correia wrote a piece

that cover's Presendent Gropey's "I have the Air Force so your rifles are useless!" stuff very nicely.
https://monsterhunternation.com/2018/11/19/the-2nd-amendment-is-obsolete-says-congressman-who-wants-to-nuke-omaha/

Then, today, I ran across this that covers part of it in cartoon form

I have nothing more to add

A few things to clear

A few moving ones
                                                Like sumo bear,

and "Get me in there so we can get to work!"

I do wonder if it's the first time she's done this, or just the first time the girlfriend/wife acted this quickly

I had a chance to try out a new chronograph today,

I'll write about it tomorrow, when I'm not mixing letters up.  Short version, it's nice.

The next of those late weekdays arrives

and the collection is ready

These people truly are the enemy

"The Biden administration’s since-disbanded “Homeland Intelligence Experts Group” planned an insidious influence operation to persuade mothers and teachers to inform on dissident parents and students suspected of “domestic extremism,” internal documents obtained by The Post show.
...
In notes from a September 2023 meeting, the Brennan-Clapper group discussed ways for DHS to increase efforts to collect intelligence on Americans across the country, and “get into local communities in a non-threatening way.” Members noted that “Americans have an ambivalent feeling of telling on each other,” citing the failure of the post-9/11 “See Something, Say Something” campaign."

And, a big one,
"One solution proposed at the meeting was to reclassify political dissent as a “public health” crisis to encourage Americans to report family members or neighbors to the federal government if they displayed “concerning” behavior."
These bastards desperately want to become the American Stasi.  And should be treated as such.

I've liked the Gun Free Zone blog,

but there was a difficulty and it's going away.  They are starting from scratch at this address:
https://vineofliberty.com/

How do you know you're living in a 3rd-world craphole?

You're in Chicago. And they'd rather give money for funerals than actually do something about the gang violence.
"Mayor Brandon Johnson will increase the scope of a pilot program that funds basic needs for victims of gun violence and their families, he announced Thursday as the latest update in his public safety plan ahead of the summer.
...
In touting his announcement, Johnson repeatedly decried his predecessors as “stingy” toward communities on the South and West sides that needed relief from disinvestment and violence the most. The fund in question was started in 2022 under former Mayor Lori Lightfoot and has since doled out aid to almost 400 victims."
https://www.chicagotribune.com/2024/06/20/chicago-to-expand-pilot-that-pays-1500-for-funerals-of-homicide-victims-1000-stipends-for-survivors/

This is a socialist asshole playing "See, I am being more generous to you, giving more money to bury your dead!"  Whereas someone who actually gave a damn would be backing the cops going after the murderers- most gangbangers- and putting them in prison.  But fat chance of that in Chicago.  I'm really not sure why good cops still work in that place: the city government craps on them and kisses the criminals.

'Not Satire: Study Links Climate Change to a Politician’s Decline in ‘Speech Complexity and Productivity’
Yes, they're apparently working to give Biden another out on his recent behavior
https://legalinsurrection.com/2024/06/not-satire-study-links-climate-change-to-a-politicians-decline-in-speech-complexity-and-productivity/

Lots of politicians and bureaucrats seriously need to be fired,

at the least.
"In actuality, SIO hired a load of interns to scan social media for posts deemed to be mis- and disinformation. It turns out that the posts we students flagged were often sent along to moderators at Twitter (now X), Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok, which took them down in order to quash dissenting viewpoints—viewpoints that sometimes ended up being right, as in the case of Covid likely being the result of a lab leak, or Hunter Biden’s hard drive being his actual hard drive—not Russian disinformation.

Thanks to the work of independent journalists, the SIO’s work has come under a lot of scrutiny, including in Washington. A recent House Judiciary Committee report alleges that, by cooperating with the Department of Homeland Security, the SIO’s Election Integrity Partnership “provided a way for the federal government to launder its censorship activities in hopes of bypassing both the First Amendment and public scrutiny.”
And if Stanford gave a damn about free speech, they'd be ashamed.  But apparently they have no shame, at least when it comes to a chance to shut down people they disagree with.

A least favorite task is done,

brass(for one cartridge) has been processed and trimmed.  So now, when I get done loading some other stuff I need to, I can make some of this into ammo again.

Assuming I can get the somewhat neglected cleaning of the dining room and living room done(at least somewhat) so that is out of the way.

It would be easier to just surrender and say "I give, mess can stay!", but it really is a mess.  And if I were to meet a lady I'd prefer the house not make her back out  slowly when she sees the house for the first time.

From what I've read the most dangerous volcano in the US is Mt. Ranier,

People like Murphy are the kind that gave me this almost lifelong great dislike for politicians

Yesterday I gave a difficult speech in the Senate.

The final reports are in on the Uvalde tragedy. 376 armed officers were outside that classroom. For one hour and 17 minutes. And they did nothing.

Apparently Murphy has no problem with the sorry excuses for peace officers who refused to do their jobs. At least if he thinks he can use them to whack at citizens owning guns.

"Oh, it was an official record but we didn't think we needed to keep it."

However, records made public Friday by Judicial Watch show that in at least one instance, Secret Service members were asked to delete logs of an attack within an hour of it happening.

That instruction came on Sept. 25, 2023, after an EMT was requested to treat a bitten agency member, who was injured so badly that communications show they may have required hospitalization.

An email titled “LOG: DOG BITE (09-25-2023)” describes the reporting of that attack at 8:06 p.m. followed by a request for the Joint Operations Center’s logs to be deleted at 8:58 p.m.

Good. Now sue the asses off the bastards.

How do you know tyhe Authorities don't like something?

When they really don't want people to read it is a clue.  Bunch of people on Fecesbook ran into a problem when they posted a link to this:

Fecesbook started informing them that this is spam and cannot be posted.  So, as usual, people found a way to change the link a touch so you can copy and paste.  Which they apparently don't like.

Gee, I wonder why...

Also: Fecesbook started hiding posts and shadowbanning when the post had a link the censors didn't like.  So people started posting the link in the first comment, saying it was there.  So Fecesbook started doing the same to posts that had the word 'link' in them.  Then came a different word, which the censors are now chasing.  Isn't it wonderful?

'Free Speech' at Hahvahd

A faculty member's right to free speech does not amount to a blank check to engage in behaviors that plainly incite external actors — be it the media, alumni, donors, federal agencies, or the government — to intervene in Harvard's affairs. Along with freedom of expression and the protection of tenure comes a responsibility to exercise good professional judgment and to refrain from conscious action that would seriously harm the University and its independence.
Ain't it wonderful?  "Of course you can speak, you just can't say anything that brings bad publicity to the school!"

I've got a process I use after black powder cartridges

to clean the brass.  I keep a plastic jug* under the bench and have a Lee Hand Press with a universal decapping die handy.  I fire a shot, eject, use the press to punch out the primer and drop the case in the water; that way the fouling doesn't have time to start to harden.  This process also makes me slow down and not rush the next shot..

When there's a pile in the jar I put the lid on and shake it, dump it, and repeat once or twice, depending on the number of cases, then drain and spread the cases out in the back of the truck to dry.  This cleans them out well enough that when I get home I can throw them in the tumbler to get them ready for resizing.  Resize, trim any that need it, and then I usually run them through the Lyman Turbo rotary tumbler.  That cleans everything, including the primer pockets and flash holes, and leaves them nice and shiny(most stuff I just worry about clean, but those cases just look nice when they shine).

Downside to the rotary: you have to use water so it's more mess.
Upsides: no dust, great job of cleaning the cases out, and- until you lose some of it- the media is stainless steel pins and they never wear out.

I'm about halfway through this, and it's hard to read

It demonstrates some of the reasons the public health sphere has little trust from the public anymore.  And a lot of people involved belong in jail for a variety of reasons.
https://www.midwesterndoctor.com/p/the-price-of-truth-vs-deception-in

She really wants a payoff,

and so do her lawyers:
A federal appeals court on Wednesday heard arguments over whether car insurance should pay out benefits to a woman who caught a sexually transmitted disease from a policyholder in his insured vehicle.
https://bayourenaissanceman.blogspot.com/2024/06/a-er-sticky-legal-situation.html

Part of the problem in dealing with anti-gun types is they don't know what they're talking about,

but they're absolutely sure they do.  For instance, here's a highly-ranked law professor from Harvard who doesn't know what the NFA actually did:
The 1934 Firearms Act bans civilian ownership of a “machine gun,” defined as a weapon that can fire “automatically more than one shot, without manual reloading, by a single function of the trigger.”
As various people correct him, it didn't ban them, it did make them much more expensive and troublesome to own. And he fails to understand that with a bump stock the trigger still has to be depressed for each shot.  Schooled on that, too.

You can consider this other evening's photography set to also be a celebration

of the wins the pro-freedom side got this week.

Looks like Sotomayor gave a gift she may not have realized she was giving

From her Carville v. Garland dissent:
"...He did so by affixing bump stocks to commonly available, semiautomatic rifles. ...

The dissent gives us “in common use” for semiautomatic rifles and implicitly says that AR-15s are not M-16s"
And if they're in common use, you can't ban them because they scare you or you don't like them.

This has much of the left damn near crapping themselves.

Well, they still work

The Israeli military has used a medieval-style trebuchet to lob incendiaries across the northern border into Lebanon.

A video that first emerged on social media on Thursday appeared to show Israel Defence Forces (IDF) soldiers loading the wooden siege engine with flaming projectiles and launching them into Lebanese plantations.

The military responded that the use of the contraption was “a local initiative and not a tool that is widely used”, reported Israeli state broadcaster KAN News.

The ancient artillery weapon was used during the Middle Ages in sieges of castles and other fortified locations.

In this case, the device may have been used to clear dense vegetation in the border area which could help the army prevent terrorists infiltrating Israel, suggested Emanuel Fabian, the Times of Israel military correspondent, who initially posted the video.

Pretty much

Yes, one of those times again

There's not two FBIs: there are some agents who are honest

and do not abuse their authority, and there's all the rest:
"Why, it almost seems like there are two different FBIs running around out there. One seeks to respect Americans’ civil liberties while the other is the tool of a state inching closer and closer toward tyranny.

That is, of course, unless you recognize that there’s just one FBI and they’re playing for a particular team. They’re respectful of the free speech rights of a group glorifying terrorism because those terrorists are supported by all the right people in government.

Meanwhile, they’ll hunt down every grandma who took an unguided tour of the Capitol for a whopping 10 minutes as if they’re Osama bin Laden.

Honestly, this is disgusting and FBI reform needs to be at the top of any to-do list for incoming lawmakers if we want to take them seriously. The FBI is well on its way to becoming a new Gestapo or KGB when it comes to domestic issues, and we should all be terrified of that."
We are.  Except for those who dream of it because they assume they'll be in charge of it.

More good news out of the Northern District of Texas. Judge Reed O’Connor has issued a ruling in Mock v. Garland vacating the ATF’s byzantine rule that effectively bans pistol braces. You know…the same pistol braces the ATF had previously said were perfectly fine and an acceptable firearm accessory.
...
Today, Firearms Policy Coalition announced a major legal victory in its Mock v. Garland lawsuit challenging the Biden Administration’s “pistol brace” ban rule issued by the Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF). In the decision, United States District Court Judge Reed O’Connor granted summary judgment in favor of FPC and its co-plaintiffs and issued a final judgment and order vacating the ATF’s rule. Looks like Gina Carano may get Disney to trial,

and I hope she's awarded both ears and the tail.
"Under those two cases, Disney said that the state can’t force employers engaged in “expressive activity,” — in Disney’s case movies and TV shows — to convey its message through speakers like Carano who allegedly impair its ability to properly express its values, which it said include respect, integrity and inclusion."
Disney's been expressing its values a LOT, without being slowed down by Carano or good sense.  Which is exactly why the company is on the rocks.  And firing her because she refused to list her pronouns on line... the whiny bitches who had a fit should've been told "This was on her personal account, and we're not firing someone for that."
But that would've required Disney to have some balls and integrity.

I must say, the ropes are too slack

Holy crap, Biden & Co. made a smartphone app for requesting asylum...

'On June 11, the federal government announced Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents arrested eight illegal aliens from Tajikistan. Tajikistan is a predominantly Muslim Asian state bordering Afghanistan and a former Soviet Socialist Republic.

The feds believe the Tajik men have ties to the Islamist terrorist group Islamic State in Iraq and Syria. ISIS has a presence in Afghanistan and probably a base.

ICE arrested the suspects in three urban areas: New York, Philadelphia and Los Angeles. According to two media reports, the men entered the U.S. via the U.S.-Mexico border. L.A. is near Mexico. Philly and New York? No.

NBC added this note: One suspect crossed the border using the CBP One app (Customs and Border Patrol smartphone application) the Biden administration created "to allow migrants to book appointments to claim asylum."

Future headline: Terrorist claims asylum in order to enter the U.S.'
https://strategypage.com/on_point/2024061223269.aspx

Not to mention all the suddenly-there Chinese and some other nationals showing up for asylum and disappearing.
At some point, this has to be considered treasonous conduct by these politicians.

In today's dose of "How dare you!",

our AG says "You're damaging our democracy when you criticize my agency, let alone try to do anything about us!"
https://www.dailywire.com/news/merrick-garland-pens-op-ed-declaring-criticism-of-his-doj-dangerous

Ignoring the usual Democrat 'our democracy!' stuff, let's see...
"Judicial Watch announced today it received 54 pages of records from the Department of Justice in a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) lawsuit which show the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Office of Congressional Affairs (OCA) provided a Democrat staffer with information on FBI whistleblowers who detailed the bureau’s targeting of political opponents and retaliation for their testifying at a May 18, 2023, hearing of the House Select Subcommittee on the Weaponization of the Federal Government.

A May 23, 2023, email from Damon Marx, senior counsel in the office of New York Democrat Rep. Dan Goldman, shows that the FBI provided documents apparently pertaining to the whistleblowers that were “very helpful” to Goldman."
No, nothing political about that, not at all.
https://www.judicialwatch.org/information-on-whistleblowers/?

Then we have
"The memos show that agents for the FBI’s Security Division asked at least three witnesses in spring 2022 whether the employee, whose name and job title was redacted from the memos, had been known to “vocalize support for President Trump” or “vocalize objections to Covid-19 vaccination.” Agents ascertained from at least one witness that the worker, in fact, had declined to get the coronavirus inoculation.

The latter questions about the vaccine were asked in spring 2022, a few months after the U.S. Supreme Court had struck down vaccine mandates in corporate workplaces and a separate federal court had issued an injunction on federal employee vaccine mandates.

The agents also asked witnesses whether the FBI worker had “attended the Richmond Lobby Day event” in January 2021, a rally for supporters of the Second Amendment in Virginia. The agents’ notes referred to the colleague they were vetting as a “gun nut” but who in engaged in “no promotion of violence.”

Remember, that video may not show the whole story

“They were marching, they had a flag, and Jonathan simply said something along the lines of, ‘you guys are on the wrong side,'” the source told The Post.

“From there about four people from the group came up to him, they circled him and threw red liquid on him,” the source claimed. “He tried to back away, but he was either chest-bumped or fell to the ground, smashing his knee and slicing his leg.”

The source claimed that he got up and used only the amount of force that was necessary “to get out of there,” noting that Kaye has no history of violence and no criminal record. “He sort of did what his body told him to do in the moment to get out of there.”

But it's 'Pride' month, and it was a group with Queers for Palestine, so he's a horrible guy.

As a finale,
Law enforcement sources told The Post that EMS workers attempted to render aid to the woman knocked to the ground, not knowing she had been punched, but their efforts were thwarted when the group of her friends grew hostile, swooped in and took her away. Cops have been unable to make contact with her since, according to the sources."
Why, it's like they didn't want the injuries investigated for some reason.
Here's the NY Post article:
https://nypost.com/2024/06/10/us-news/nyc-banker-who-slugged-woman-at-pride-event-lashed-out-after-clash-with-anti-israel-group-source/
And here's at Gun Free Zone where I found it:
https://gunfreezone.net/beware-deceptively-edited-video/

Terrorism busts for the Olympics are starting early

A planned Islamic terrorist attack targeting the Geoffroy-Guichard Stadium in Saint-Étienne during the upcoming Paris 2024 Olympics has been successfully foiled. Rokhman B., an 18-year-old Chechen asylum seeker, was arrested for his involvement in plotting the Islamic attack. In contact with ISIS fighters, he aimed to kill ‘disbelievers.’

Surprise! He’s a Muslim. But, there’s more: “Previously unknown to authorities, Rokhman B. and his family arrived in France as asylum seekers in 2023.”

https://www.americanthinker.com/blog/2024/06/first_planned_terror_attack_at_2024_olympic_foiled_by_authorities.html

But wait!  There's MORE!
After an Afghan asylum seeker in Germany admitted to raping and assaulting numerous girls over the course of three years, a judge ruled in August that the migrant would not get any jail time. Instead, he would receive probation and sensitivity training, Fox News Digital can confirm.
https://archive.fo/AebGq#selection-1547.0-1551.32
And
A 24-year-old German girl, a student from Berlin, was violently attacked and raped by an Egyptian migrant at a beach in Tuscany, near Carrara, Italy. The 25-year-old North African confessed, and in front of the judge, tried to justify his rape, “Her legs were bare, any man would have done like me.” He further blamed the attack on one too many glasses of alcohol and too much hashish.

The bold rapist did not show any remorse for his actions. After all, if a woman is “attractive” and “provocative,” why should it be wrong to take her with violence questioned the migrant.

This article has a list of other rapes, with the 'migrant' rapists often getting off very lightly. https://rairfoundation.com/migrant-rapist-to-judge-her-legs-were-bare-any-man-would-have-done-like-me-video/

Remember all the 'Teach men not to rape!' stuff a few years ago?  And if you pointed out that the one's NOT taught that are primarily of certain ethnic backgrounds, you were called a racist, etc.?

In a place with all the approved gun bans and restrictions, and this is just

a slightly busy weekend.
https://abc7chicago.com/post/chicago-shootings-weekend-least-45-shot-8-fatally/14931086/

Of course, the ban & restrict people like to blame it all on 'lax gun laws in surrounding states', yet those states don't have anywhere near the problems Chicago has.

"It's horrible, people aren't believing what we say

and doing what we tell them to!"  As if we have reason to trust them, and their numbers.

This covers their whole schtick:
"The prospects for this failing system look bleak. Donald Trump again as US President? The far right making electoral gains across Europe? Murderous political leaders able to act with impunity? Purveyors of disinformation, working under the rubric of The Geneva Project, who proclaim that, “We, people of the world, no longer abide by the tyrannical rule of unelected global officials and their vision of the future”? A collection of anti-vaxxers, right-wing activists, and conspiracy theorists gathered at the World Health Assembly on June 1 to declare their opposition to WHO's efforts to negotiate a pandemic agreement. What is the cause of this breakdown of belief in an international community?"

Couldn't possibly be how WHO has lied and connived and wants control of the world, no way it could be connected to UNRWA assisting terrorists and acting with them, oh no.  And so forth.  No, the only reason we won't prostrate ourselves before their wishes is racism, etc.

Screw these bastards, one and all.

Two things: first,

This is a gigantic story

The person holding Noa Argamani hostage in his home was an Al Jazeera “journalist” who was ALSO Hamas’ Ministry of Labor spokesperson

His father (also in the house) is a doctor

And all of this was in a “refugee camp”

Second, the Israelis pulled off a carefully planned hostage rescue successfully.
From some of our Professional Journalists, - oh hell, just read it here
https://redstate.com/bonchie/2024/06/09/the-press-reaction-to-israel-rescuing-hostages-is-absolutely-insane-n2175236

Some journalists have called it a 'hostage release', as if Hamas turned them loose, until they caught hell for it.

Been said before, will be said again, however much you hate the media, it's not enough.

A bit of gathering, starting with "That sounds kind of insurrectioney,

I wonder if our Do'J' will be searching for and arresting all these- oops, that's right, they're the wrong kind of insurrectionist for our AG to bother with.  Just like all the other leftist attacks on 'our democracy'.

My, how... modern-version liberal of her

“Even if we were to have a resounding blue wave come through, as many of us would like, putting it all back together again after we’ve gone through this MAGA nightmare and re-educating basically, which that sounds like a rather, a re-education camp,” Collins said.

“I don’t think we really wanna call it that,” she told voters on the call. “I’m sure we can find another way to phrase it.”

I find it really interesting she's not saying 'Trump nightmare' or 'Trump being defeated'.
Then,
"However, she doubled-down on the need to re-educate “MAGA” supporters in a statement to Fox News.

“We currently have lawmakers, including Rep. Elise Stefanik, who mis-quote or mis-understand the law,” she told the outlet. “Even if MAGA were to be resoundingly defeated, we would need to engage in widespread civics education, which both red and blue voters acknowledge has been slipping in recent years.”
Apparently the 'make America great again' idea really bothers her.
https://nypost.com/2024/06/06/us-news/stefanik-opponent-proposes-re-education-camp-for-trump-supporters/

Our Dept. of 'Justice' at work:

"The Department of Justice has indicted Dr. Eithan Haim, a little-known surgeon who exposed Texas Children’s Hospital for secretly conducting transgender surgeries and treatments on minors, on four felony counts related to his alleged violation of a medical-records law.

Last year, Haim anonymously leaked evidence of the child sex-change procedures to conservative journalist Christopher Rufo. The documents revealed that Texas Children’s Hospital had continued running its transgender program, despite announcing that the program had been discontinued in accordance with Governor Greg Abbott’s 2022 directive equating such medical interventions with child abuse.
...
Assistant U.S. attorney for the Southern District of Texas Tina Ansari, whose office is leading the criminal investigation, argues Haim had no right to share the medical records of minor patients with the public.

However, she neglected to mention that the documents disclosed were not patient charts, were redacted to protect sensitive patient information, and complied with HIPAA, which permits anonymized information to be disclosed generally, and even protected information can be publicized if it’s used to stop egregious medical misconduct."

Most of the media won't talk about it because the bad guys

are of a protected species.
"There is a pattern to the way these things tend to unfold: first, most media outlets and senior elected officials urge everyone to withhold judgment before we jump to any conclusions about what has happened. Then—when we discover that Islamists are responsible—the focus of the conversation immediately shifts to the “far right,” the xenophobes, the angry, racist mob.

The danger is not the people who did the killing, but the people who might be provoked by the killing—their specter of violence a bigger threat than the violence itself.

Or the victims themselves are transformed into the instigators of the violence perpetrated against them: Wasn’t Michael Stürzenberger, the blogger who was stabbed in Mannheim, an “extremist”? Weren’t the 12 staffers of Charlie Hebdo who were murdered in their Paris office in 2015 racist?"

That does seem to be the standard response when they can't avoid the fact that the motivation was "We are ordered to kill unbelievers."

In Sweden the gangs are using a lot of hand grenades, too.  And outside of Sweden there's little written of it, because Muslim gangs.

Hm. If this is true, here's another reason for that verdict to be thrown out

Well, I have a response to the Admiral:

Kiss my ass.
'McRaven did not hesitate: “Just a show of faith…. Stay away from our institutions. You know every time you undermine the judicial system, every time you undermine one of our institutions, you undermine America…. So, to say this was not a fair trial undermines the most important institution that we have and that’s our judicial system. So this is really a plea for civility and I hope folks on the left and the right will listen and read the op-ed and try to be, again, try to rise above this.”

As I recall, one of the very important things about the Constitution was recognizing that free people both can and should criticize the institutions of government when people think they've screwed up.  So yes, Admiral, you can take your advice and shove it.  And you can kiss my ass.

This post will probably have someone calling me a conspiracy nut again.  As if I cared.

Speaking of the oozing sore on humanity's ass known as Fauci,

He and a bunch of other people have so much to answer for...
THE Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) monitored 2,000 pregnant women for adverse reactions post covid vaccination rollout, but have refused a Freedom of Information request to release the data. They admitted last April that they had it but cited the exemption that they planned to issue a report. They have still provided no publication date for the information recorded during the first six months of 2021.

Although birth rates had dropped before the covid pandemic and before covid vaccination, there is evidence that the SARS-CoV-2 spike protein can damage the ovaries and testes but made no statistical difference to the birthrate. It was only nine months after vaccinations were offered to pregnant women that a decline began to show.
(me: No SHIT?)
...
Government began pushing experimental covid vaccines to pregnant women before any of the jab manufacturers had completed reproduction toxicology reports or started trials in pregnant women. Thousands of women could be infertile thanks to these injections, while thousands have reported that they suffered miscarriages and stillbirths because of them.
Yes, some of this is hearsay; when government agencies are making excuses to NOT release information, can you say 'suspicious'?

Read it all, I'd suggest
https://www.conservativewoman.co.uk/sinister-silence-over-vaccine-damage-in-pregnancy/

Have I mentioned how much I despise Fauci?

I wonder what it would take to make Fauci lose his ideological bullshit?  Maybe losing that sweet pension for criminal acts like (at the least) perjury, multiple counts?

One day embedding links worked again,

A study may have been pulled because of political pressure?

Considering all the crap that's happened, why would that be a surprise?
"The study generated a lot of publicity due to its implications for immune suppression and cancers arising from repeat exposure to Covid infections and vaccination. The authors’ findings have since been confirmed in other peer-reviewed scientific studies, but in the highly-politicised environment at the time, they were new and controversial.

The study was then swiftly retracted under strange circumstances, with the lead author requesting the retraction of his own paper. Stranger still, the same editor who approved the paper for publication then did a 180 and approved its retraction. Some speculated that Jiang had been pressured to request the retraction in a politically-motivated effort to bury evidence of Covid vaccine harms.

Now, one of the authors of the study alleges that this was indeed the case."
I don't have time to read the entire piece right now, but the start is real interesting, and I don't want to lose it, so there's the link.

At headline at Yahoo 'News', 'Trump criticisms of justice system may help autocrats'...

Hell, who do they think is using it now?

Corrupt, lying bastards at the NIH, Update

Fauci was the lead, and I wonder how much Collins was involved in this?
"New data from the National Institutes of Health reveals the agency and its scientists collected $710 million in royalties during the pandemic, from late 2021 through 2023. These are payments made by private companies, like pharmaceuticals, to license medical innovations from government scientists.

Almost all that cash — $690 million — went to the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Disease (NIAID), the subagency led by Dr. Anthony Fauci, and 260 of its scientists.

Information about this vast private royalty complex is tightly held by NIH. My organization, OpenTheBooks.com, was forced to sue to uncover the royalties paid from September 2009 to October 2021, which amounted to $325 million over 56,000 transactions.
...
Payments skyrocketed during the pandemic era: those years saw more than double the amount of cash flow to NIH from the private sector, compared to the prior twelve combined. All told, it’s $1.036 billion.

It’s unclear if any of the Covid vaccine royalties from Pfizer and Moderna, the latter of which settled with NIH by agreeing to pay $400 million, is even included in these new numbers. NIH isn’t saying."

Fauci needs that "I am the Science" attitude folded to eight corners and shoved up his ass.  'Disgusting' doesn't even begin to cover this.

https://nypost.com/2024/06/02/opinion/nih-scientists-made-710m-in-royalties-from-drug-makers-a-fact-they-tried-to-hide/

Update: it seems that quoting from news articles involving unpleasant activities by the NIH makes me, still, a conspiracy nut.  At least according to this Anonymous.  At least he's consisten.

And the forecast went from

30% chance of showers to 60% chance of thunderstorms and a severe storm watch...

You like food? Like cooking?

You should watch this.  My son told me about the man, and I could lose track of time watching his videos

But the good, such as the probe, is somewhat balanced out by the racist bastards

who lie and try to hide it.
Hiring and admissions decisions, he wrote in his message last week, are "based on merit," not race, "in a process consistent with state and federal law."

But Dubinett himself directs a center within the medical school, the Clinical and Translational Science Institute, that houses a race-based fellowship experts say is illegal.
...
Nor has it explained how the percentage of Asian matriculants shrunk by almost 50 percent since 2018, with most of the drop occurring after a new dean of admissions, Jennifer Lucero was hired in 2020. That decline coincided with a sharp increase in the number of students who come from "medically under-served" areas or identify as "disadvantaged"—indicators that admissions officials say are being used as proxies for race.
...
While the trends don’t provide proof of discrimination, they are consistent with the accounts of racial gerrymandering from UCLA admissions officers. Lucero has allegedly told officials that the class should reflect the "diversity" of California, where racial preferences have been illegal since 1996, and has attacked those who raise concerns about minority candidates with low test scores. She even made the entire admissions committee sit through a two-hour presentation on Native American history after a Native American applicant was rejected, three sources said.

Etc. ad Bullshit.  Short version: "If you have a problem with less-qualified people being admitted because of their race, you're a racist!"

Sometimes the future isn't stupid

Mission engineers were confident NASA’s OSIRIS-APEX (Origins, Spectral Interpretation, Resource Identification – Apophis Explorer) spacecraft could weather its closest ever pass of the Sun on January 2, 2024. Their models had predicted that, despite traveling 25 million miles closer to the heat of the Sun than it was originally designed to, OSIRIS-APEX and its components would remain safe.

The mission team confirmed that the spacecraft indeed had come out of the experience unscathed after downloading stored telemetry data in mid-March. The team also tested OSIRIS-APEX’s instruments in early April, once the spacecraft was far enough from the Sun to return to normal operations. Between December 2023 and March, OSIRIS-APEX was inactive, with only limited telemetry data available to the team on Earth.

I might as well get this on the verdict out of the way, from a law professor,

and he's not the only one:
"I think, as I said before, that this case was legally unfounded. When they were reading those guilty verdicts, the one thing that we didn't know is really what he was found guilty of. Because if you remember, the judge allowed the jury to find guilt on any one of the three secondary crimes," Turley said. That meant the jury didn't have to determine exactly what crime was committed.

"We weren't told whether the jury found any one of those crimes, whether they found all three of those crimes. I'm not too sure we will know that. That's one of the many issues that I think presents reversible problems in this case," Turley assessed.   (bold mine)
Which is a polite way of saying  "This is such bullshit, it's amazing."

The good: the NRA vs. Vullo case was a real win for the good guys

The Court explained that the First Amendment prohibits government officials from relying on the "threat of invoking legal sanctions and other means of coercion … to achieve the suppression" of disfavored speech. Although the commission lacked the "power to apply formal legal sanctions," the distributor "reasonably understood" the commission to threaten adverse action, and thus the distributor's "compliance with the [c]ommission's directives was not voluntary." To reach this conclusion, the Court considered things like: the commission's coordination with law enforcement and its authority to refer matters for prosecution; the notices themselves, which were "phrased virtually as orders" containing "thinly veiled threats to institute criminal proceedings" if the distributor did not come around; and the distributor's reaction to the notices and followup visits….

Ultimately, Bantam Books stands for the principle that a government official cannot do indirectly what she is barred from doing directly: A government official cannot coerce a private party to punish or suppress disfavored speech on her behalf….

And all 9 handed Vullo her ass.
With, of course, Jackson saying "But the .gov should have some lattitude here, because reasons."  Still a solid victory.  All it needs now is suing Vullo for her actions.

Yes, the left got what it wanted,

convictions for Trump.  That are sure to be reversed, when the crap the prosecutors and judge pulled are appealed.  But they don't care.

They also don't care about the damage they did to the justice system, particularly in New effing York.

As someone said a few years ago, they'll start caring when someone uses their new rules against them.  But it'll be too late then.

Smith & Wesson K38 Target Masterpiece(pic grabbed off the net).  This is a K-frame revolver with a 6" barrel and target sights.  A bit of history:
Smith & Wesson inaugurated the K-Masterpiece series just after World War II. First introduced was the K-22 in December 1946, with the K-32 and K-38 following by the summer of 1947. They were all of a type, with 6″ barrels, patridge style front sights and fully adjustable rear sights. Grips were checkered walnut which the company termed Magna style. They were double actions, although some K38’s were built with single action only mechanisms.*
I once read that this happened when S&W decided 'to make the world's most accurate target pistols', at which they pretty much succeeded.

The one I had was well-used, by a guy who'd been on a LE agency match team.  It had the oversize grips, and he'd had someone who really knew their stuff do a bit more polishing and tuning on the action, and oh my did HE succeed; between his work and years of use it was the slickest action I'd ever worked.  And very accurate, I referred to it as "It even makes me shoot well!"

It was the only pistol I've ever been able to fire a 50-shot group(postal match) tight enough that you couldn't count most of them because the group was one big hole.  A damn fine revolver.

The K22 I've fired wasn't as slick as this, but it wouldn't take much to get it there, the K32 I had the joyous chance to fire was pretty close, and all were more accurate than I.  The only problem with any of the three was the K22 match chambers got dirty fairly quickly and might need a brush and swab to clear them.

You can find a good- or even fine- shooter in .38 or .22 fairly easily, they made a lot of them; if you want the .32, be prepared to spend time and money, because they made a lot fewer of them, and most were shot little, if any, and command premium prices.**  Used?  At the big gun show in Tulsa there are always a couple of big S&W collectors, and I asked one of them if they ever saw any used K32s: "every once in a while you'll hear about one, but they disappear from the market fast."  I suspect they've been handed down in families, and are only sold out of real need for money, or landing in the hands of a relative who doesn't care about it.

So if you want a revolver for target and/or small game, I can highly recommend any of these; the K22 will be cheaper to feed, the .38 has more power, and if you did find a K32 a quick search shows you'll find it as or a little more expensive than the .38 Special.

**The time I asked the other collector that, "I've got a used one there" and pointed to a box on the table.  The thing looked brand new, and I asked "How is this 'used'?"
"The other side has a few speckles in the bluing."
Ponder on that.  "And how much?"
"$4000."
That's what I mean by 'premium'
