Sixth evening brings the usual, plus some news

News first: bloggage will be light to nonexistent for a few days or so; things to do.
And now to the usual

And yet more wonders from the Brit NHS the left is panting to force upon us

Police probing a brutal mother-blaming hospital trust at the centre of the biggest ever maternity scandal to strike the NHS are now investigating 600 cases, Sajid Javid announced today.

A damning five-year inquiry, published today, revealed 201 babies and nine mothers died needlessly during a two-decade spell of appalling care at the Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust.

The landmark probe found mothers were blamed for their own deaths and their 'poor outcomes'.

Babies suffered skull fractures, broken bones or developed cerebral palsy after traumatic forceps deliveries, while others were starved of oxygen or experienced life-changing brain injuries. In one case, cleaners binned vital information which was stored on Post-it notes – causing 'tragic consequences for a newborn and her family'.
...
Ms Ockenden also revealed families were still coming forward with examples of poor care suffered at the hands of the trust as recently as 2021, and that one case dated back to the 1970s.

Staff were found to be frightened to speak out about errors due to the 'culture of undermining and bullying', while bosses ignored parents who raised concerns about how they were treated.

I'm not finished reading; I had to stop because I was getting so pissed.

Further: how much would you bet that there will be more scathing reports, some more people fired, and nothing more?

It's a bit pisses-me-off to hear people who blamed Trump for just about everything

insist that Biden isn't responsible for much of anything, especially the price of energy.

Some clearing of stuff

Take a moment to savor the full level of stupid in this

That’s because a AR (that stands for Assault Murder Rifle) shoots bullets so dense and powerful that they can go through anything. They’re illegal in Europe because even CERN can’t make antimatter explosions like that. THINK OF THE CHILDREN

This is the God-damned EffingBI

Where it appears that all the leadership are descended from Sgt. Schultz.  They've just added "That's not in my purview" to knowing nothing.
The effing Asst. Director of FBI Cyber, about the Biden laptop: "I don't know where it is.  I don't know who would know.  That's not in my purview.  I have no idea who you should ask about that."  Etc. ad Bullshit, over and over.

And that corrupt asshole currently in the Sacred Bureau's Director's office probably gave him a pat on the head for so effectively looking like he's either corrupt and/or a fucking incompetent.

"News? Report things the way we want, not that stupid 'the truth' stuff!

Change your stuff, and then you're fired!"

From Seattle, no surprise.

More 'And this is a big part of why the law was passed'

Mercier is gay, and she believes keeping secrets about sexuality from her students’ families — if the student wants her to — is worth losing her job over. “I just want to go ahead and state that I would rather lose my job than out one of my students to their families. Being a safe person and a safe place for kids who don’t have that at home is one of the best parts of being a teacher, so, yeah, I’m not doing it. Fire me, sue me, take me to jail — I’m not doing it.”
Notice that part of the attitude is "The parents can't be trusted to think correctly, so I have to do this!"  Because parents are crap.  And because I Must Save The Kids.  Right.  There are woke teachers and administrators actually pushing kids into "I'm trans, and must start the process" with minors, without a word to the parents, and when it blows up... well, its not the teachers and admin assholes who pay the price.

And they can't understand why parents are pissed.  Or lie to themselves about why.  As various parents have said "You aren't teaching kids to read to grade level, but you have time to indoctrinate them and talk about your sex life?"

Borrowed from Sarah Hoyt

History is not permanent class warfare. History IS permanent change. And when the story in people’s heads doesn’t match the narrative, a time comes when it is reset VIOLENTLY.

The Marxist narrative was never right — which is why it brings death, starvation and destruction wherever it gets power — but it made sense to people in a regimented post-industrial world. It also poisoned them for any practical solution, but hey, the ruling classes could USE it to get more power. So it worked, after a fashion.

Only in the information age it doesn’t. And people are buying it less and less. And know all the ways in which it breaks. But still retain fragments of it in their head. Which means as it falls apart, it will fall faster, harder and more violently.

No, nothing suspicious about that at all...

According to EO, the documents show that “Professor Trevor Bedford of the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center later sent the group an email stating that the deleted data seemed to support the idea that the pandemic began outside the Huanan market in Wuhan and that the matter must be analyzed properly.”

If the virus’s spread began outside of the market, it would undermine the official Chinese government claim, and thus reinforce claims of experts in the United States and elsewhere that the pandemic likely escaped from within the Wuhan lab.

The EO report also claims that NIH communications staff members were using off-the-record emails to advise “reporters toward more favorable coverage concerning termination of public access to the sequences by The Washington Post, and away from coverage by The New York Times, whose ‘tone’ had been criticized in communications among NIH officials.”

In addition, EO said NIH claims to have retained copies of the deleted data “for preservation purposes,” although the federal agency has refused to conduct a transparent examination of it.

A bit of tech I hadn't used before

From two previous PCs that died, I have the hard drives.  Looked like it was motherboard failures, near as I could tell, so the drives should still be good, and I wanted to check them without having to open up the case and put them in the current computer.  So a bit of searching led to this docking station, which some questions got good reviews, so I got one.

Works.  The only problem is the 'owners manual' stops at "Here are the parts, here's how you plug them in, insert the drive, and turn it on."  Not one damn thing further.  The 'support' on their website leads to a PDF of the same manual, and "You can call this number for help."  Bleep.  And the videos I found on YouTube did not show the same stuff that my pc did(of course).

Did get it figured out, and am able to use that drive to find any files I'd thought lost(I really need to do backups more often).  Now if I can remember where I put the other damned drive...

So, another crack-brained moment, or just more lying?

“Are you worried that other leaders in the world are going to start to doubt that America is back if some of these big things that you say on the world stage keep getting walked back?” Doocy asked?

“What getting walked back?” Biden demanded, apparently seriously.

“It may sound like, just in the last couple days—it sounded like you told U.S. troops they were going Ukraine. It sounded like you said it was possible the U.S. would use a chemical weapon. And it sounded like you were calling for regime change in Russia and we know—”

“None of the three occurred,” Biden insisted.

“None of the three occurred?” Doocy asked, shocked.

“None of the three,” Biden insisted again. “You interpret the language that way.”

This is friggin' HUGE in two ways

The first needs no explanation:
Sam Faddis, a retired CIA Operations Officer who served in the Near East and South Asia, disclosed on Sunday that “the ongoing analysis of the hard drive of Hunter Biden’s laptop” revealed the Defense Department encryption keys, and this was not an insignificant find: “These keys allow access to DOD email accounts and databases.” As is characteristic of Hunter Biden from what we know of him already, he didn’t just dabble; he went all in. “The exact number of these keys is still unknown. There may be dozens.”

But why did Hunter Biden, who is not now and has never been a Defense Department employee, have any of these encryption keys at all? Since Hunter Biden has so many relatives, friends, and associates at the highest levels of government, we will probably never get the full answer to that question. But this is no innocuous oversight. Faddis explains that “the keys are known more formally as ‘root encryption certificates.’ Some of them appear to have unusually long expiration dates with many lasting twenty years or more. Such keys should not be present on a personal laptop of any kind, and there is no known reason that Hunter Biden would be in possession of them at all.” No known reason. But Hunter Biden is a man with connections.
...
...Faddis noted that “the keys were discovered only recently by Jack Maxey’s technical team working in Switzerland. Shortly after the discovery of the keys Maxey contacted the U.S. Embassy in Switzerland and reported that he had information that might compromise American national security and would like to talk to someone in the Regional Security Office to report what he had learned. His contact information was taken by the person with whom he spoke, but no one has ever called back to obtain the information in his possession.”

The second is that the Gods-cursed EffingBI and Do'J' have had all this for how long?  And, far as we know, have done NOTHING.  This is further proof of just what politically-compromised collections of oathbreaking assholes the two organizations are, and that trusting them is stupid.  On anything.

Also note that if our equally Gods-damned Professional Journalists weren't mostly Democrat operatives with bylines, this would've come out a long time ago.

I have a hard time generating sympathy, because I guarantee

most if not all of the victims voted for the politicians and laws behind this.
The criminals target wealthy neighborhoods in places with lax criminal justice laws to conduct their home burglaries, before returning home with the loot while out on bail, according to police.
Isn't it interesting how that works?
