I'm still tired and stressed, but that's no reason

to not get the 7th eve study materials up.

At least not yet.

I'd say Paul's right, and

this mess is a real threat.
Paul has gone against many of his colleagues in his party, warning on the Senate floor in March, “I think we should beware of those who use fear to coax Americans to relinquish our liberties.”

“Every accusation of data gathering that has been attributed to TikTok could also be attributed to domestic big tech companies,” he said.

Section 3 of the act would provide the authorities legal cover to pursue anyone deemed to have “undermine[d] democratic processes” in favor of the “strategic objectives of a foreign adversary.”

Paul said the act gives the executive branch wide ranging powers that would basically provide “limitless authority for the president to ban speech.”

Tired and stressed, so this eve's post

is done

A short clearing

because I'm tired, stressed, and halfway wish someone would drive through the house and over me.

Ran across this labeled Dejah Thoris, and thought 'She's worth a battle on Mars'

It appears that the EU wants to 'reduce fertilizer use', they also want people to starve

Otherwise, why would you want to not only shut farms down, but try to force the farmers not to farm somewhere else?
It was unclear before this week whether the EU would permit such a scheme, as it could have potentially fallen afoul of regulations surrounding state aid or subsidies. However, Brussels said that the plans were “necessary and appropriate” as they met the broader goals of the European Green Deal.

“The positive effects transcend any distortions of the free market,” the statement added.
Should the plan go ahead, it would not only be a major blow for the farming industry in the Netherlands, which is one of the most productive in Europe but could potentially impact other nations as well, given that part of the condition of the buyout scheme is that the Dutch farmers would be prohibited from moving to other countries and starting up farms abroad, meaning that their knowledge and expertise would be squandered. ...
Responding to the announcement from the EU, Dutch political commentator Eva Vlaardingerbroek said: “This is how they do it: they put a knife to the farmers’ throats. They make sure they don’t get their licenses renewed, they’re plaguing them with new rules & restrictions every day and then offer them a bride, knowing many will take it out of pure desperation. It’s all so vile.”

“I also highly doubt that prohibiting them to start over elsewhere in the EU is even legal. The whole idea of the EU was supposed to be about freedom of movement and freedom of workers. This is some next-level USSR stuff,” Vlaardingerbroek added.

Well, they're a bunch of Stalin & Commissars wannabes, so not surprising.

There is a dire need for ropes and tall lampposts and trees.

Over at Wirecutter's I was scrolling down(again) and hit the memorial

to CharlieGodammit.  It's been less than a year since Security Staff died, and I still catch myself looking to see if he's peeking around the garage corner when I pull into the driveway.  The other day I was doing some grocery shopping and started down the aisle to get some of his favorite canned to add to his dry food.

It's going to be a long time to stop doing those things.  Same as it was when the former Security Staff(Sr.) died, except then he was around, and that helped a lot.  Dammit.

I always wonder if 'they rarely attack' actually means

"We only count it as an attack if there's a witness or physical remains.'  Which means in a really successful attack, it just might not go on the record.
