It's Monday, and the Stalin wannabes in (fG)Britain are hard at work

Meanwhile, Ulstermen and Provos in Ireland are working together to tell the .gov to go to hell, and their media is going all it call to aid the .gov in calling the proper people names.

Meanwhile, "We must prevent a Super El Nino, let's screw with the atmosphere to prevent it!" say idiots.
According to computer simulations, this could keep global warming within safe levels and dramatically cut the severity and length of marine heatwaves.

However, this extreme geoengineering technique is highly controversial, and even the researchers aren't sure what the consequences would be.

Co–author Professor Phoebe Zarnetske, of Michigan State University, warns: 'There's very little known about the ecological impacts.'

Gee, ya think MAYBE?

"You can't have people over to your house to pray without a permit.  Oh, and if you get the permit it's no longer your house and you can't live there."

Starmer is stepping down

Finally.  And, of course, after he got more final insults and threats to anyone who wouldn't kiss his and Labour's ass.

I'm curious just how he'll word his "You bloody bigoted and racist peasants have let me down!" announcement, too.  From some pictures I saw of the rally today- of which there are damn few*- I'm wondering if the numbers were so bad he was afraid, finally, not to quit.

*I looked at a couple of Brit 'news' sites where there was not one mention of it, let alone any pictures.  Got to keep kissing the Stalin wannabes asses right up to the end, I guess.

There is only one proper response to this kind of crap

Go fuck yourself, Rowley.  You don't get to censor us.

If you want the video, here

As to the responsibility of asshats like him in this mess,
Here’s the thing: This is all entirely the government’s fault.

After a 17-year-old suspect was arrested for the Southport stabbing attack, the police refused to publicly identify him. Given the pattern around such incidents in England, this led a lot of people to assume that the attacker must be a Muslim immigrant, and so some of the rioters targeted mosques or facilities for so-called “asylum seekers.”

Eventually, the situation was such that officials finally identified the attacker as Axel Muganwa Rudakubana, the son of immigrants from Rwanda. Rudakubana was reportedly born in Cardiff, Wales and, whatever his motive — other than Crazy People Are Dangerous — there is no apparent connection to Islamic radicalism. Therefore, the claim is being made, “misinformation” was to blame for the riots.

No, actually, government secrecy was to blame. If the police had merely released the name and mugshot of the suspect, at least the public would have known that he wasn’t named “Mohammed” or “Abdul,” which was a conclusion many people quickly leapt to, based on recent history of such stabbings not only in England, but all across Europe. And just because it appears the attacker was a deranged teenager — apparently motivated by mental illness, rather than radical ideology — does not mean that complaints about immigration policy are irrelevant or misguided. The cultural dislocations involved in relocating Third World migrants to England (or France, Belgium, Canada, America, etc.) often result in situations like this, where the children of immigrants become alienated or hostile. Even if the immigrants themselves are grateful toward their host country, and eager to have their children take advantage of the available opportunities, the younger generation may not share that attitude, and may not be able to handle the pressure to adapt and assimilate.

It’s not “racist” or “anti-immigrant” to mention this phenomenon, which is widely acknowledged by social workers who deal with immigrant populations, and equally known to advocates of immigration. From a conservative perspective, of course, this problem points toward a simple conclusion about immigration: NUMBERS MATTER.

Assimilation is easier when immigrant populations are relatively small, and the larger the immigrant population, the greater the likelihood of violent conflict. If you have a town of 10,000 people, the arrival of one family of immigrants from Guatemala or Ghana is not going to have much impact on the social fabric; whereas the arrival of 500 or 1,000 immigrants is a whole ’nother thing. When you have mass immigration — which is what England has been dealing with for decades — the potential for trouble rises to a near certainty. Government officials don’t want to tell the truth about the results of their policies, and so a culture of secrecy arises, eroding public trust and leading to exactly the kind of situation that produced riots in the wake of the Southport stabbings.

"Why don't you trust the media?"

Because so many of the bastards won't tell us the truth.  This is on the current "Free speech we don't approve of cannot be tolerated" bill by the Stalin wannabes running Canuckistan:
...But I clicked on the tweet by “Camus,” which linked to a People’s Voice article that quoted Czech historian Muriel Blaive of the Institute for the Study of Totalitarian Regimes at length. She called the bill “mad” and like Camus decried the retroactive punishment clause, which places a responsibility on Canadians (or visitors to Canada, as I’d learn) to delete any old statements on the Internet that may constitute illegal hate speech under the new bill.

Blaive noted, however, that while you can delete a past offense, the new Canadian law also punishes future or potential crimes. She wrote:

This is where it trips over into as yet unimagined dystopian territory. If the courts believe you are likely to commit a ‘hate crime’ or disseminate ‘hate propaganda’ (not defined), you can be placed under house arrest and your ability to communicate with others restricted… If the court believes there’s a risk you may get drunk or high and start tweeting under the influence — although how is unclear, given you can’t use your phone or a PC — it can order you to submit regular urine samples to the authorities. Anyone who refuses to comply with these diktats can be sent to prison…

That's pretty damned bad.  So why not more upset about this?  Well,
I found the text of the bill, saw the Post quoted it accurately, then reread from the start. By the text, Camus, Blaive, and Moore seemed correct, and it also seemed clear the New York Times, the CBC, The Conversation, the Globe and Mail and others buried the lede in coverage of the bill, which twice uses the term “imprisonment for life” and also references two, five and ten year sentences. There’s no way to read the bill and the Canadian coverage especially and conclude anything but that the more extreme provisions were deliberately played down.

The Globe and Mail, for instance, ran an article specifically about the “controversial” criminal provisions, but avoided mentions of “life” or “ten years” and said only that it “includes changes to the Criminal Code to usher in stiffer penalties for hate-related crimes.” A piece on the McGill University website quoted one of its law professors saying “the bill should remove its criminal law provisions, as we don’t have evidence that longer prison sentences lead to safer practices,” but with typical Canadian reserve avoided the neon headline material, i.e. the “imprisonment for life” line.
...
I tell this story for two reasons. One is just to illustrate that in the current media environment, there is often now no way to know what the hell you’re dealing with without picking up the telephone. The alleged most reputable media outlets in Canada and the U.S. refused to touch the most sensitive parts of this bill. Again, it’s hard to avoid the conclusion that many did so intentionally, among other things because some reference parts of quotes or text but tiptoe around nearby key terms like “life,” “$50,000,” “$20,000,” “will commit,” “continuous communication,” and “so long as the hate speech remains public.” I’m still curious about the “Act of Parliament” clause — Virani insists an “offence motivated by hatred” refers to “criminal” offenses — but there’s no question that most of this law has been aggressively non-reported in the mainstream press, portrayed as just another in the growing jumble of European and anglophile “anti-disinformation” laws like the EU’s Digital Services Act.

The other reason is to explain; more is coming.

Brought to you by said tyrants, and Professional Journalists and others who don't want you to know about it until it drops on you with cops at the door.

Tyrant wannabes gonna tyrant, and she really wants to be

a tyrant in all countries.
Short version: an aloha snackbar type stabbed a church official in Australia.
The 'eSafety Commissar- oops Commissioner, and a bunch of other pro-censorship types ordered it taken down.

Said Commissar(yeah that's deliberate) is pissed because X won't take it down in ALL countries because she ordered it.
And it goes from there.
Get this from one Aussie senator:
“I think he’s a social media knob with no social conscience, he has absolutely no social conscience,” she said.

“Someone like that should be in jail and the key be thrown away. That bloke should not have a right to be out there on his own ideology platform and creating hatred, showing all this stuff out there to our kids and doing all the rest,” Lambie added.
Awww, her feelings are all upset because she cannot order the world around.

I do wonder, how much of their upset is because the stabber is a protected species?

In which Canada wants to become the New Soviet Empire

And if you think I'm kidding,
Justice Minister Arif Virani has defended a new power in the online harms bill to impose house arrest on someone who is feared to commit a hate crime in the future – even if they have not yet done so already.

The person could be made to wear an electronic tag, if the attorney-general requests it, or ordered by a judge to remain at home, the bill says.

There is fear that this could 'chill freedom of speech': bullshit, it would destroy it.  As that Stalin wannabe Trudeau and his commissars desire.

The bill would allow people to file complaints to the Canadian Human Rights Commission over what they perceive as hate speech online – including, for example, off-colour jokes by comedians. People found guilty of posting hate speech could have to pay victims up to $20,000 in compensation.

But experts including internet law professor Michael Geist have said even a threat of a civil complaint – with a lower burden of proof than a court of law – and a fine could have a chilling effect on freedom of expression.

I'd bet this is largely based on "Those truckers protested even when Dear Leader told them not to!  We can call them saying "No, we will show up and protest!" hate speech and lock them up that way!"  Add that to the whiny "He hurt my feelings/make me feel unsafe!" crowd, and here they are.

This is a good piece on both loss of faith in experts and their version of 'Science!'

Worse still, some in the alliance seem to be enjoying the pandemic a bit too much. When I see the wide toothy smile on the bony-ass Skeletor face of the New Zealand prime minister every time she announces new lockdowns and mandates, I think, “Jesus, that psychopath’s getting a kick out of this shit.”

If you’re gonna torment your populace in the name of science, at least pretend it’s not making you orgasm. I’m thinking of places like Australia where the maskless have been beaten in the streets by cops. I recall a 1994 incident in Honolulu in which a circus elephant killed its trainer and went on a rampage through the city. As local animal control didn’t have proper elephant tranquilizers and local police didn’t have proper elephant guns, the cops were forced to use their service weapons on the beast, and it was a slow, painful death.

What’s always stayed with me is the footage of the cops after the animal died. They were gutted. Some were weeping. None of them wanted to do what they did.

It’s easy to tell when people, even trained professionals, are unhappy with an assigned task. I’ve yet to see any expression similar to the Honolulu cops on the faces of the Aussie skullcrackers.

Again, can’t you just act like you’re not enjoying this?

But perhaps the biggest giveaway is that not once since the pandemic began have leftist politicians sacrificed ideology for “safety.” Imagine the effect on public behavior had the Biden administration refused to flood the nation with untested, unvaxxed illegals. That would’ve sent a clear message that the Covid crisis is of such importance that Democrats were willing to sacrifice their most beloved policy in the name of controlling the bug. But no. Instead they bragged about letting in unvaxxed and untested Third Worlders.

Or that group of “scientists and doctors” last year who released a public letter stating that BLM protests were more important than Covid precautions. Few things sowed Covid skepticism on the right as much as that. To a great extent, Covid bad-faith skepticism is on the heads of the people who signed that letter.

While back one of the doctors involved in that was asked about it, and she admitted she was really troubled by it, 'but the Cause!'  She let "I want to be seen as one of the Good People get in the way of good sense and intelligence.  And now, I hope, she's looking at the damage she's done to public health and trust in doctors and cringing.*

*I know, I doubt she will, it would damage her self-image too badly

On going full North Korea, part of Australia is giving 'Nork' a bad name

The Andrews Government is making more bad changes to Victoria’s gun laws.

The latest changes will allow police down to the rank of inspector to ban shooters from holding firearm licences for at least 10 years – for getting nothing more than a speeding fine.

People hit with a ban will also be subjected to warrantless searches of their homes or cars at any time, and barred from going to any place where guns may be stored or used.

And yes, it gets worse.  It's the kind of "You can be banned for ANYTHING" law that Watts and Hogg have wet dreams about.

The asshat behind this looks like- well, she looks like that vicious asshole from the Ministry of Magic in Harry Potter.

I'd say "Screw Australia" but they've already done it to themselves.

Here it's "You don't need a gun because the police

(we hate and want to get rid of) will protect you!"  And a sprinkling of 'public safety!'
Taliban fighters on Monday reportedly began collecting weapons from civilians in Kabul as the insurgent group cements its swift takeover of Afghanistan.

“We understand people kept weapons for personal safety. They can now feel safe. We are not here to harm innocent civilians,” a Taliban official told Reuters.
...
“ISIS was telling everyone, ‘We’re all brothers,’ ” Abu Malik said. “They let people smoke and drink. At the checkpoints, they distributed presents to the kids. They ate with people, drank tea with people. They were very nice—they didn’t bother anyone. Then, a week or so after they arrived, they started confiscating weapons. They told us it didn’t matter if we’d been with the Awakening or the Army or the police—if we gave up our weapons, we’d be forgiven. Ten days later, they started taking people. "

All tyrants and wannabes want the peasants unarmed, makes it so much easier to deal with them.

And the Stalinist-minded little bitch starts showing what she really is:

Our boss.  Because Comrade Commissar bosses around all the little comrades, right?

She's also deciding that the little comrades shouldn't reproduce.  Bad for Globular Climates Changes, right?

And just to make all this even more fun,
She has no district office and no local phone number, unlike the state’s three other freshman members.

And it’s unclear whether the 29-year-old lawmaker, who represents the Bronx and Queens, actually still lives in the Parkchester neighborhood that has been so closely tied to her rise — even though she won her upset victory over fellow Democrat Rep. Joe Crowley with accusations that his home in Virginia made him too Washington-focused to serve his district.
Say it again, folks: "It's different when WE do it!"  Etc.  Although if you consider that all that neighborhood meant to her was a way to get into Congress, well, why would she want those commoners annoying her by trying to get in contact with her?  After all, they demonstrated by their upset at her helping drive Amazon out that they don't think the way they should, so who wants to have to deal with them on a daily basis?

I think this nasty little twit is in for some big, nasty surprises.

“She unilaterally changed the rules and interpretations of long standing law overnight

without seeking legislative support or consultation, without consulting the state agencies that have statutory authority over the laws. She did it in secret with no public input,” GOAL wrote.
Well, that's what you expect from tyrant wannabes.

As Uncle noted, S&W has thrown money into the ring:
Debney said the company made the contribution on behalf of law-abiding firearm owners of Massachusetts, who have so recently been denied their fundamental rights through arbitrary government action that threatens to turn lawful gun owners and dealers into criminals.

The foundation is considering challenging Healeys actions in court.

Speaking of tyrant wannabes,
More than half the people outside the government who met with Hillary Clinton while she was secretary of state gave money - either personally or through companies or groups - to the Clinton Foundation. It's an extraordinary proportion indicating her possible ethics challenges if elected president.
 'Possible'?
At least 85 of 154 people from private interests who met or had phone conversations scheduled with Clinton while she led the State Department donated to her family

And it's literally the People's Republic of MA now; the law is

what Comrade AG says it is.
“This isn’t a panacea,” Roy-Gonzalez said. “This isn’t going to solve the issue of gun violence. There’s a lot more that needs to be done. There’s been a law on the books since 1998. It’s up to us to enforce the law. The point is these guns are illegal and 10,000 of them were sold last year alone.
And the most basic question: if they're illegal, why did you allow them to be sold?  Or, for that matter, brought into the state at all?
Answer: because they were legal under MA law, and you decided you didn't like it, and changed the law.  Because you're a nasty little tyrant at heart.

When a bureaucrat or politician can change what the law means, at will, NOBODY is safe in anything.

As for this being about public safety,
Cyndi Roy-Gonzalez, spokeswoman for Healey, said the office did not consider how many shootings in Massachusetts have been carried out with assault-style rifles, but insisted the ban is an effective anti-violence measure.

According to FBI statistics, rifles of any variety were used in just two of the Bay State’s 779 murders in the past five years, which were mainly carried out with handguns. In that same period, hands and feet were cited as the murder weapon 35 times.
Two.  That's their excuse for playing Stalin games.  Revealing the always-there real reason: it's about control.  Not crime, not safety, control.

Thursday, July 21, 2016

There are reasons I call it the People's Republic of MA,

one of them being "The law is what I say it is!" from AG.
The attorney general is targeting so-called copycat assault weapons (their words not mine) and would force manufacturers to stop making them and gun dealers to stop selling them. The law goes into effect July 20. Those who have bought the firearms being targeted prior to that date will be allowed to keep them.
'Allowed'.  Love that.

Now pay attention:
Gun manufacturers have manufactured these weapons as legal versions of prohibited guns," Healey said. "These weapons are illegal. They are copies or duplicates of banned weapons, and they cannot be bought or sold in Massachusetts."

"The gun industry doesn't get to decide what's compliant (with state law)," [Attorney General Maura] Healey said. "We do."
Manufacturers made LEGAL FIREARMS, legal according to MA LAW, and she doesn't like it.  So she's unilaterally changing the law.

I'd say that this is a prize example of Tam's definition: "Loophole = 'People doing legal shit I don't like'."

Stali- excuse me, Jerry Brown really likes controlling people,

doesn't he?
Later, at the site where world leaders are meeting to negotiate a climate pact outside of Paris, Brown urged a small crowd to “never underestimate the coercive power of the central state in the service of good.”

“You can be sure California is going to keep innovating, keep regulating,” the Democratic governor said. “And, shall I say, keep taxing.”
Old warning: "The power to tax is the power to destroy."  Which is what this statist bastard and the Democrat Party are doing to Californicated.  And they plan to keep on doing it.
There's a quote on the sidebar which fits this very well:
Of all tyrannies, a tyranny exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It may be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end, for they do so with the approval of their consciences.

And this crap on 'green energy' companies:
K.R. Sridhar, chief executive officer of the fuel cell company Bloom Energy, said,

“There’s almost nothing in the post-industrial age, no business, no industry that ever got started or ever flourished without policy support, without subsidy and without federal support.”

He cited as examples the Internet and the aviation industry. Roads that support commerce, he said, are built with taxpayer money.

It would be wrong to “single out” the green-technology industry, he said, because it only needs a “helping hand,” not a permanent subsidy.
Really?  'no business, no industry' can start or flourish without subsidy?  Mr. Sridhar, you're a liar.  You really want Brown & Co. to keep giving you other peoples money, don't you?

Californicated, you really are screwed.

Why might she not want those e-mails looked at?

Things like this.
This memo is dated August 22, 2011, immediately after the fall of Qaddafi’s government. It is interesting for several reasons. First, it shows Blumenthal giving Hillary political advice. Second, it confirms that Libya was intended to be Hillary’s great accomplishment as Secretary of State, for which she was to take full credit. Third, it is striking how Blumenthal’s comments about Libya sound as though he was talking about Iraq.

Why the schools are screwed, and so are the students:
Attorneys for a nationally recognized Los Angeles Unified teacher, who was removed from his classroom after allegations of misconduct, are issuing an ultimatum to district administrators: publicly apologize and let him return to work, or get sued.
And what was this horrible misconduct?
Three months later, L.A. Unified officials have not clearly outlined the allegations against the popular teacher, said his attorney Mark Geragos. But Geragos said he learned that the investigation stemmed from a complaint by another teacher after Esquith read to a class a passage from "The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn" by Mark Twain.

"How dare you disturb Senator Sweeney with a protest!  We must prevent this from happening again!"
Yeah, sounds like the D&FSofNJ.

Here's hoping Amherst loses both ears, the tail,

and their endowment.  A very short summation by Ace:
Yes, you read that right. The Kangaroo Court found that the boy was likely blacked out unconscious from drinking during the accuser's performing of oral sex on him, but that this is never an excuse.

Apparently, if you're asleep or unconscious, and a woman performs oral sex on your unconscious body, you can be later be accused and convicted (in a college civil tribunal) of rape, if she decides that this was all rather ill-advised.
If a male did that to a female, he's a rapist.  A female does it to a male... he's a rapist.

I hope his attorney goes for the throat; a few of these colleges, and the idiots in charge of this, losing their ass will be the only thing that'll get their attention.

Sue the selectmen for this crap, and throw in the CoP; he damn well knew this was bullshit.

What it takes to live and work in Mexico.  Bribes, fees, forms and all.  While the bastards say they should be free to come and go here anytime they wish, AND get all the benefits they want.

That is one big damn fish.  With big damn teeth.
The massive predator, measuring 20-plus feet and boasting the girth of a fat hippo, was featured last year by the Discovery network, which aired part of a tagging effort that involved local researcher Mauricio Hoyos Padilla.

The shark, perhaps 50 years old, was said to be one of the largest white sharks ever tagged and videotaped, and on Tuesday Hoyos posted newly released footage of the same shark on Facebook, under the title, “I give you the biggest white shark ever seen in front of the cages in Guadalupe Island… DEEP BLUE!!!”
Read this book last year, and she mentioned that the big sharks, especially the biggest females, had a girth that was flat amazing; looking at that picture, I believe her.

Tab clearing

Once more: Hey, Commissioner Evans, just get a STASI patch for your sleeve and stop hiding it, you miserable little tyrant wannabe.  And your little friends, too.

"We'd have had our gun bans and such if it weren't for you meddling teabaggers!"
And Walsh?  We're very familiar with "I'm a gun owner BUT-" clowns like you; piss off.

Is ATF playing games again?  Yes.

"How dare you have that hetero-normative stuff in cartoons!"

You know, if the feds hadn't screwed Trentadue around from day one on this mess, this would've been closed a long damn time ago.  Instead they keep gaming, and causing questions.

Obama’s own attorney general, Eric Holder, recently told ABC News that the rise of the Islamic State is “more frightening than anything I think I’ve seen as attorney general,” adding that “9/11 was something that kind of came out of the blue. This is a situation that we can see developing.”

Remember those words. Obama saw the threat from the Islamic State developing for a year. He had a chance to stop it. He failed to do so.
This is where we hit the question of 'failed to do so, or didn't want to?'

"Just because you're in fear for your life doesn't mean you should be able to hurt that possible choirboy/girl who broke into your home!"  Bullshit.

Gotta disagree: people were taking it seriously before this guy died, just that having an international traveler break with ebola ratcheted things up a notch.

What is it with anti-rights clowns wanting to be like the friggin' Soviet Union, informers and all?

Wouldn't you love to browse through their armory?
