It's Saturday, and no excuse needed

for checking out the new data

The bastards have talked about this before,

so no surprise.  Neither is this:
'The use of poisons of chemical and biological weapons against population centers is allowed and strongly recommended due to the effect on the enemy,' explained al-Awlaki.

Two things:
One is that PC-brained idiots, when these are attempted, will try to turn it into "Muslims in fear of backlash!"

Two is that a lot of media would do anything possible to downplay the chance of terrorism in any fires they do set(see 'PC-brained' above).

Just some fun stuff

Ever become so tied up in testing things

that you realize you haven't been doing it for fun?

Shooting is fun.  But I've been getting so tied up in "I need to test this load" stuff that I haven't done much just for fun for a while.  I need to work on that.

And get out shooting more often.

That time again

Be a Rooftop Korean

Some duties of citizen should never be outsourced. If you are an able-bodied adult, it’s your duty to know how to stop the bleeding and give CPR until the pros who do it for a living arrive. And it’s your duty (and right) to defend yourself, your family, your community and your Constitution. With guns – effective guns, which sometimes means your concealed pistol and sometimes means the guns that those who want you defenseless call “assault weapons.”

Ban them? We should insist non-felon adult, able-bodied citizens own them and become proficient with them because all that law and order you see around you can disappear in a heartbeat. I watched it happen up close and personal, in one of America’s biggest cities. And as the Rooftop Koreans recognized, groups of citizens with (preferably) semi-auto rifles with 30-rounds mag is the only thing that is going to keep a mob in check.

The mower made it through the wet

well enough to cut some of the worst of the back yard, and the grass catcher worked.  Which means after the rain they're expecting later today, by Monday it'll only be a minor level of shortgrass* prairie.  And hopefully dry enough to mow the whole place.

With all this wet it gave me excuse to clean the house the last few days.  Still some stuff to do, but better than it was(cleaning up the mess being a never-ending task).

*Grass only two-three feet high instead of five-six

It appears the Portland PD has reached peak useless

Unless you're a communist demonstrator, then they're your friends.

If you don't want to mess with Twatter, Portland PD claimed May Day was peaceful.  Actual reporter says
Are you kidding me? Do you not arrest violent people so then you can claim that it was peaceful? There was a riot outside the Cider Riot. I was attacked point blank with pepper spray. A student journalist from Oregon State had his camera smashed & destroyed. Where are you?
They're protecting the violent demonstrators.  Because Portland is run by leftist assholes.

Sooner or later they're going to kill or maim someone, and this whole mess is going to blow up on the Mayor and Chief's faces.  Which won't do the deceased/crippled any good.

Pretty soon the Brits will be arresting gardeners

for having cutting tools with them as they go to work.

Seriously, how effing stupid can a country ge- wait, don't answer that, it's too depressing.

But this doesn't happen! All the leftists insist!

A Jordanian national pleaded guilty to conspiring to bring illegal Yemeni immigrants into the United States through the Mexican border, the Department of Justice announced Tuesday.
Makes you wonder how many others haven't been caught.  And what some of them might be up to.

When you send the cops into a particular neighborhood,

to target the people who live in that neighborhood, it’s a little disingenuous to complain that the cops did as directed.
A prosecutor who did it, then complained about the 'racist' actions/results of the cops doing what she told them to.

About Biden's 'scandal-free' Obama administration,

politicians and bureaucrats who need hanging.
Operation Choke Point was a plot by President Obama’s Department of Justice, the Federal Deposit Insurance Commission, the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, and other government agencies to cut off banking and financial services for small businesses and industries that they deemed to be political enemies or otherwise undesirable.
Government documents were just unsealed providing evidence of just how far reaching and destructive Operation Choke Point really was to small businesses.

In this specific case, the documents show how the FDIC engaged in a targeted campaign against lawful and legally operating businesses, cutting them off from banking services without due process or other legal recourse. While most thought the program began around 2013 — at least that was when evidence of the program first began to surface — a senior official with the FDIC was pushing regulators to cut off banking for lawful small dollar lenders at least three years before that. The official told regulators: “… if a bank was found to be involved in payday lending, someone was going to be fired.” Brought to light by the unsealed documents, additional instruction was given to regulators that “if an institution in their region was facilitating payday lending, the regional director should require the institution to submit a plan for exiting the business.”

Any business deemed to be a political enemy would be considered “high-risk,” and as the legal filing that unsealed these new incriminating documents notes, it was made clear “that banks servicing high risk customers through payment processors would incur additional regulatory compliance burdens.” In another incident, available now through the deposition of a bank chairman, said the chairman was threatened with criminal referral to the Department of Justice if a business relationship with a small dollar lender was not ended.
Lots of lampposts and cherry trees in DC.  Just sayin'.

It's raining again,

this weather is making my knees ache, and I really need to spend a chunk of the day cleaning house.

Hard to work up enthusiasm with a schedule like that.

"Guns have the power to magically change you!"

...Yet when neighbors relayed how the deaths happened, they offered explanations involving a different kind of occult transformation: the supernatural potency of the .38 to change people into unethical agents. With each subsequent death, lore intensified around the gun, with people surmising that "touching" this gun could portend death. "Ever since they touched the gun, those poor young boys were not the same," said one community member. Residents spoke about the gun as if it were an amulet that could change otherwise good people and what they did in the world.

It would be shortsighted to dismiss these claims as the misguided logic of a "superstitious people." That racially inflected trope, long used to marginalize and demonize Haitians, among others, blinds observers to the way in which guns do exhibit a power akin to magic: the power to create a change in someone's state of mind.
I haven't finished this; it's late, and I don't need the annoyance,
but I'm sure he'll get around to the AR family being super-powerful magical objects.

This is pretty big and serious

The Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office says it will pull back all staff responding to calls for services within the City of Portland, citing “unnecessary personal and professional risk”.
“As sheriff, your safety and the safety of the Clackamas County residents remain my top priorities,” his email reads. “Our work is dangerous enough without adding unnecessary risk when responding to calls for services in the city of Portland.”
Sounds like "The Portland PD and city government won't back us up, and we're sick of it.  Screw 'em."

Vancouver police have said they are considering doing the same as well.

I would bet that watching Portland PD stand around while antifa clowns take over streets and attack people, and the mayor approving, has a lot to do with this.
