It's that time again,

so get to your studies

Range trip the other day was mostly testing some .45-70 loads,

but it was too busy to set up the Chrony; this time of year lots of people zeroing their new rifle, checking zero on the old, getting in some practice.

General notes(because I haven't gone through the target information yet):
That homemade bullet lube seems to work quite well with these bullets at these velocities.
Loaded some black-powder cartridges to try, good results.
I think the best powder for the 330-grain Lyman bullets is going to remain A5744.
I want to try the 405-grain flat-nose paper-patched over Blackhorn 209; the bullets are patched, need to load them.

Guy was trying out his new 1903A3 Springfield, and very happy with it, and then shot his M1 Garand.  Also happy.  And left a bunch of once-fired HXP brass and four chargers behind, which I was happy about.  I've got a bunch of -06 brass, but I just can't leave something like that behind.

More details later.  Maybe Sunday, more likely Monday

Little Jewish guy speaks at Berkeley

and the usual suspects lost their damned minds.  'Nazi', 'white supremacist', all the usual crap.  Because someone they don't agree with spoke.

And they insist the OTHER people are the bad guys...

About that wonderful Brit NHS we're supposed to copy,
He landed on his head and was knocked out, fracturing his neck, injuring his back and crushing his left wrist.

He was rushed to the hospital complaining of pain in his neck and tingling all down his right arm and legs.

But doctors merely plastered up his smashed left wrist and sent him home in agony.

Hewer spent months protesting that he was in constant pain and at one point was sent to tai chi classes.

After a catalog of lost scans and delayed appointments, doctors finally spotted the crushed bones in his neck three years later.
Wonderful, isn't it?

But wait!  There's MORE!
He then had to wait another two years before an operation on his neck but he says his life has been ruined.
But don't worry, the people responsible won't face any penalty:
The Parliamentary and Health Service Ombudsman upheld his complaint of injustice for the way that he was made to wait five years for the neck operation.

But they said it was so long since the accident it was impossible to prove a direct link between it and his health conditions.

It clears the Trust of causing his current health problems by failing to diagnose his fractured neck sooner – because doctors diagnosed him with the degenerative condition neuropathy, which may have initially led to his fall.
"You're screwed, but we'll be ok.  Now go away."

Friday night. Tired.

No, the target pics aren't edited yet.  Just check the data, I'm about to shower and collapse.

"No, I don't have a problem.

Yes, I've got a lot of .30-06 brass.

Well, when that guy finished with his new -03A3, and the Garand, he just walked away and left all that once-fired HXP brass!  And a couple of chargers!  You don't just leave something like that, it's an insult to the gods.

No, I don't know which ones, but there's at least one.

Hey, it only took five minutes to find all that .30 Carbine when I saw the first one in the grass, and I got almost a whole box!  Yes, I know, I've got bags of it.  So?

Just shut up and find me another storage tub."

And the Southern Poverty Libels Center

can go die in a crotch fire.

Someone needs to seriously investigate those offshore funds they've been playing with, and find out just what the hell they're up to.

Made it to the range yesterday

to try out some loads.  Yes, I'll report, but first I've still got brass to process, and pictures to take, and all that stuff.

One thing I'm going to have to try: I've put some loads out with the 405-grain and 500-grain bullet using Blackhorn 209 and the cases prepped same way I would for black powder; now I need to try the same loads using cases prepped for smokeless, and see if there's any difference.

Corrupt oathbreaking bastards

Not only theft under color of law, but
By this time, other agents had started searching his truck. "I said, 'Hey listen I have rights, you're violating my rights, you're not supposed to do that kind of stuff,'" Serrano recounted.

Miserable, corrupt, oathbreaking bastards.  Screw them all.  I'm sick of this crap.

In our current update on 'History: it be messy',

New archaeological evidence suggests that America was first discovered by Stone Age people from Europe – 10,000 years before the Siberian-originating ancestors of the American Indians set foot in the New World.

A remarkable series of several dozen European-style stone tools, dating back between 19,000 and 26,000 years, have been discovered at six locations along the US east coast. Three of the sites are on the Delmarva Peninsular in Maryland, discovered by archaeologist Dr Darrin Lowery of the University of Delaware. One is in Pennsylvania and another in Virginia. A sixth was discovered by scallop-dredging fishermen on the seabed 60 miles from the Virginian coast on what, in prehistoric times, would have been dry land.
But wait!  There's MORE!
The similarity between other later east coast US and European Stone Age stone tool technologies has been noted before. But all the US European-style tools, unearthed before the discovery or dating of the recently found or dated US east coast sites, were from around 15,000 years ago - long after Stone Age Europeans (the Solutrean cultures of France and Iberia) had ceased making such artefacts. Most archaeologists had therefore rejected any possibility of a connection. But the newly-discovered and recently-dated early Maryland and other US east coast Stone Age tools are from between 26,000 and 19,000 years ago - and are therefore contemporary with the virtually identical western European material.

What’s more, chemical analysis carried out last year on a European-style stone knife found in Virginia back in 1971 revealed that it was made of French-originating flint.

Plus some DNA evidence.

I like seeing things like this partly- mostly- because "New information!  Good!", and partly because things like this cause the "We know how the world happened, and that's that!" people to lose their shit.  And, also, it will cause some of the Indian* activist types to crap bricks; proof that people came to these continents at all from the European direction will really screw with the "This Is Our Land, And Always Was" line.

Yes, on some things I just enjoy having the PC Narrative screwed with.  But mostly I love the finding of new information on the past.

*Because 'Native American?  So am I, and my parents, and theirs, and theirs, and so on.'  I think Canada had a better idea with calling them First Nations.  Except this will really mess with that, too.

Not even bad security theater, just plain damned stupid

And yet, sixteen years after 9/11, here we were, in a European country where signaling virtue was more important than security, and where you could be excused for thinking Muslims were the only ones who had never attempted terror.

I’d like to say it’s not the same here, but I’ve been required to remove my shoes by TSA employees wearing face veils.

Free time?  Some tools?  Melt a bunch of coke cans and make a AR-15 lower.

Remember, Obama did everything he could to stop this lawsuit

Fresh evidence submitted in a major 9/11 lawsuit moving forward against the Saudi Arabian government reveals its embassy in Washington may have funded a “dry run” for the hijackings carried out by two Saudi employees, further reinforcing the claim that employees and agents of the kingdom directed and aided the 9/11 hijackers and plotters.

It's... well, 'disgusting' is the word

A public school.  'ancestry, genetic code and melanin'.  Once more, the Dutchman is proven right:
I've said it before and I'll repeat: these collectivist pukes are more race-obsessed than the Nazi Gauleiter of 1930's Lower Swabia.

I’m sure the people who run Highlands Elementary don’t think they are racists. But what else do you call people who are obsessed with skin color? The Edina schools are explicitly opposed to color-blindness, once the shared ideal of American conservatives and liberals. This tweet, on Highlands’ official Twitter account, is from last April. It denounces “color-blind racism”–so Martin Luther King, Jr. was a racist–and says that the “color of colorblindness” is white.
God help the kids these bastards are training.

Once again, our 'friends' in Congress are screwing us

Speaker Paul Ryan will not allow Congressional action on national concealed carry reciprocity to move bills forward, Rep. Thomas Massie told host Mark Walters Thursday on Armed American Radio. The reason given is Ryan thinks the timing isn’t right to consider H.R. 2909, the D.C. Personal Protection Reciprocity Act, a supplement to state reciprocity provisions of H.R. 38.
But the Stupid Party(in some cases the Backstab Party) insists it's on our side.  Sure, if 'our side' means "We'll support you verbally, and not do shit that might actually DO something."

Some of these idiots are going to try it

and wind up dead, or start killing people because "You don't think the way you should!"  Wonder how CNN & Co. will excuse it?
“We’ll go to their house, I’ll put it that way. We’ll go to their house,” said Dominic, an imposing, muscular man in his 30s. “I don’t want to hurt anybody, but I want those people to stop it. If I have to put Richard Spencer or Nathan Damigo into the hospital critically, and it would have saved Heather Heyer’s life or the next potential Heather Heyer, I would do it without question.”

Dominic’s targets don’t have to be actual Nazis, white supremacists or extremists. As the story points out, sometimes anyone on the right will do:

At about 3 p.m., Dominic and his crew got word that a handful of people had been spotted by one of their lookouts holding a banner reading, “Love Free Speech, Unafraid of Fake News, Ask Me My Point of View.”…

The handful of conservative protesters at Fisherman’s Wharf soon was surrounded by the black-clad group, who screamed at them, telling them to get out of town.

“They were way more aggressive and intimidating than the protesters, to be honest,” said Mike Gaughan, a pedicab driver who witnessed the confrontation.
This is going to be part of Exhibit A for the Defense when someone kills some of the home invaders of Antifa: "Your Honor, they specifically said they were going to break into people's homes and critically injure them."
