Yes, it's new data time

Which won't stop the anti-rights people from pushing for it

However, Karen Kaplan, the science and medicine editor for the L.A. Times wrote a story that argues such gun control would have little to no impact on violence here in the United States.
Australia has not seen a shooting like the Port Arthur massacre since, and the National Firearms Agreement is widely credited for this success. Gun control advocates in the United States — including former President Obama — have spoken admiringly of the law and suggest it should be a model for reducing gun deaths here.

That wouldn’t do any good, according to the authors of a new study.

Mass shootings get the most attention, but they account for a tiny fraction of total gun deaths in the U.S., data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention show. Among the nation’s 36,252 firearms-related fatalities in 2015, 61% were suicides and most of the rest were ordinary homicides.

Neither of those kinds of deaths actually fell in Australia as a result of the National Firearms Agreement, researchers reported Tuesday in the American Journal of Public Health.

“Many claims have been made about the NFA’s far-reaching effects and its potential benefits if implemented in the United States,” wrote Stuart Gilmour, a statistician at St. Luke’s International University in Tokyo, and his coauthors from the University of Tokyo. “However, more detailed analysis of the law shows that it likely had a negligible effect on firearm suicides and homicides in Australia and may not have as large an effect in the United States as some gun control advocates expect.”
Most of the advocates really don't give much of a crap about violence: they care about control.  The ones that do care about violence?  When the new law fails to stop it, will just decide they haven't got enough control; "Now we need to control language, because then we'll make the violence stop!"

And on, and on, until it's all that UN-controlled world in the Man-K'Zin Wars novels, where talking about unapproved history gets you put in a camp.  Because it's bad for people to know the facts, and unapproved thoughts might lead to unapproved actions.

'10 red flags about sexual assault claims'

and they include
2. The accuser times releasing the accusation for an advantage.
For example, when the accuser holds the allegation until an adverse performance rating of the accuser is imminent, or serious misconduct by the accuser is suddenly discovered, or the accused is a rival for a promotion or a raise, or the accused’s success will block an accuser’s political objective. It’s a flag when the accusation is held like a trump card until an opportunity arises to leverage the accusation.

3. The accuser attacks the process instead of participating.
The few times I’ve been attacked for “harassing” the victim, it has always followed an otherwise innocuous question about the accusation, such as: Where, when, how, why, what happened? I don’t argue with accusers, I just ask them to explain the allegation. If I’m attacked for otherwise neutral questions, it’s a red flag.

4. When the accused’s opportunity to mount a defense is delegitimized.
The Duke Lacrosse coach was fired just for saying his players were innocent. When the players dared to protest their innocence, the prosecutor painted their stories in the press as “uncooperative.” If either the accused or the accused’s supporters are attacked for just for failing to agree with the accusation, it’s a red flag.
Sounds familiar, doesn't it?

We now have "I hate to fly because claustrophobic from the attack

thirty-something years ago", but she flies regularly.

"I didn't know the committee offered to fly to see me."

"Did you pay for the polygraph?"
"I'm not sure."
"Who did?"
"I don't know."

And on.  And on.

Let's move to the latest accuser with the 'rape parties', borrowing from Williamson:
So, why haven't we heard from the dozens, hundreds? of other victims of this rape gang?

None of them reported it at the time, and none are coming out now?

Why did none of them get an STD or pregnant? Did every member of the gang use condoms properly every time?
Throw in "You were a college student, yet you attended high school parties where you found drugging and raping were going on, yet you never reported this to anyone, you not only kept going to the parties but EVEN AFTER YOU WERE RAPED you kept going?"

There is so much low-grade bullshit flying around... you couldn't even use this stuff for fertilizer, it'd poison the crops.

Some nice satellite shots of Krakatau smoking away

over here

I am shocked- SHOCKED!- that the caring Democrats haven't hounded this POS

out of that offi- oh, right, he's one of them.
'In the beginning he seemed so serious, because he never spoke to anyone, but he is just like the others and has just about the same tastes as the doctor, very refined. I think they were taking us more often to get us checked [medically] because of him,' wrote the girl.

Her name is being withheld by MailOnline because she may have been a minor when her alleged encounters with Menendez occurred.
Ah, it must be wonderful to have such flexible 'ethics'.

Well, so much for the outdoor range today Update on the restaurant

From '40% chance of showers tomorrow' last night to 'It's raining and likely to continue this morning' now.  Cool is fine, but testing loads in rain isn't much fun.  Or good for accuracy, generally speaking.

By the way:
The other day Ted Cruz and wife were driven from a restaurant called Fiola in DC, apparently a very upscale place, by a crowd of antifa assholes.  And the management stood around with thumb up ass while it happened.

Let's say you're just someone else in for dinner; would you be thrilled that the management allowed this crap to happen and screw up your evening?

I hope they're catching hell for this.
Update:
It appears that this restaurant actually cares about the customers: they moved the Cruz's to a private room, called the cops to remove the assholes, then served dinner.  THAT'S how it's supposed to work.

Worst Hitler ever

From a thread on Bookface, from Michael Z. Williamson:
Liberal shitheads (pardon the redundancy) think Trump is anti-semitic despite Jews in the family and all through the cabinet.

And wish the Trump kids were dead, because they're tolerant and liberal.

And believe unopened pallets of water in Puerto Rico are Trump's fault, because apparently Puerto Ricans can't open pallets without a magic release from Trump or some shit.

I will continue to insult shitheads for being shitheads.

Someone please go to comments and post that picture of Trump with all the Jewish cabinet members.
Seriously, at some point you'd think even the diehard Trump haters would acknowledge all the Jewish employees he's had, and among the people he trusts, and in his FAMILY, are an indication that he's not exactly badthoughts toward Jews.

Except that would mean acknowledging that this insult was bullshit from the start, and most of them don't have the integrity or balls to do that.

And, last, someone came up with the perfect name for these clowns: Neiman Marxists
