The heavy work of the weekend is done,

I am done for, and I'm about to fall over and sleep.  Here's the days data.

“Is freedom more important than safety”?

Yes.  Next question?
 ...
It’s part of a larger question:  how can you guarantee that another person will place your interests first and not their own?

The answer people who clamor for safety over freedom don’t want to hear is:  you can’t.  The ones trusted with your safety, unless it is in their own interest otherwise, can decide to leave you to your fate at any time.  History has shown that while some few will put the safety of those in their care even against their own self interest (parents looking out for their children might be an exception to “few” and even that is questionable in the larger scope of history) that’s a pretty long-shot bet.  In the end, those you would entrust with your safety look out for themselves long before they look after you.

At the point the EUnuchs cannot kiss my ass,

but I will piss on them.
The European Union is poised to mandate that Israeli products made in contested territories carry consumer warning labels, a decision that could trigger American anti-boycott laws and open up what legal experts describe as a "Pandora's box" of litigation, according to multiple sources involved in the legal dispute who spoke to the Washington Free Beacon.

The Advocate General of the European Court of Justice recently issued non-binding opinion arguing that EU law requires Israeli-made products to be labeled as coming from "settlements" and "Israeli colonies."
Fuck the EU, and every nasty, bigoted little Stalin wannabe in it.

Let's say it's been rather busy,

and I wasn't counting on getting any data together for today, but it worked out

A nightmare for the PC clowns of San Francisco:

Minority people demanding their right to arms.
“Can you imagine if all the Asian people owned a gun and they could protect themselves?” she told me Wednesday, with a lilt in her voice conveying this would be her utopia.

I, of course, had to push back a bit — what about all of our recent mass shootings? Didn’t more guns in our society make those possible? Think of Gilroy, I said.

“The people who shoot at us, the mass shootings, they’ll always get [guns], because they’re bad,” she answered. “Good people like you and me, who have common sense, if we could carry we could come out and defend ourselves.”

The gun bigots and hoplophobes have the standard response:
“People don’t feel safe,” Lee acknowledged by phone Wednesday. But, “we don’t want to encourage people to arm themselves, it’s too dangerous, it’s not in today’s society. We have to rely on the police to protect us, but we want them to do a better job.”
With various city officials also shitting their pants at the idea.

Today's lying asshole politician: Joaquin Castro

"I had no idea or intention that people on my list be harassed!"

Lying bastard.

“I don’t trust black leadership that wants to de-arm black people,”

Killer Mike, whose real name is Michael Render, told Yahoo News at his Atlanta barbershop, the Swag Shop.
And he damn well shouldn't.

Wonder if the usual suspects will attack him, or if he'll get a pass?  Or maybe they just won't want to take on someone who's black and willing to tell them to go to hell.

I wish not to hear one more word from Gods-damned Hollywood

about hate speech and those nasty people on the right.

What fucking idiot decided to finance it?  At ANY time, let alone now?

In a comment on the 625 post

was mention of something I'd not heard of before: Wondersight.

It's a way to put an adjustable rear sight on a revolver.  With 5-screw S&Ws it'll screw on using the top sideplate screw, for others you'd have to have a hole drilled & tapped.

People who've used it have a high opinion of it.

Tab clearing

"Yes, we DO want to take your guns."  As if there'd been any doubt.
Get this:
Realistically, a gun control plan that has any hope of getting us down to European levels of violence is going to mean taking a huge number of guns away from a huge number of gun owners.
I don't think they actually realize what they're wanting.  Or they wouldn't want it.

Interesting:
“The greater the bureaucratization of public life, the greater will be the attraction of violence. In a fully developed bureaucracy there is nobody left with whom one could argue, to whom one could present grievances, on whom the pressures of power could be exerted. Bureaucracy is the form of government in which everybody is deprived of political freedom, of the power to act; for the rule by Nobody is not no-rule, and where all are equally powerless we have a tyranny without a tyrant.”

Is today’s generation of children “the sickest generation”? No.
Although, if you count the SJBs as mentally ill...

According to reports on Twitter and in the media, the man shot and killed by police after killing nine and injuring 27 in a mass shooting in Dayton, Ohio, was not just a Democrat but an open socialist. He also supported gun control, would vote for Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.), and encouraged violence against Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).

What’s Really Behind the ‘White Supremacy’ Terrorism Scare

S&W Model 625

I had a chance to shoot one of these a few days ago

It's a six-shot revolver for the .45acp cartridge, using moon clips.  This model has some variations from the standard; from the S&W website:
• “Miculek Style” .265” Wide Grooved Speed Trigger
• “Jerry Miculek” Wood Grip
• Gold Bead Patridge Front Sight on an Interchangeable Base
• Low Reflection Bead Blast Finish
• Designed in Collaboration with Jerry Miculek
The owner had replaced the grip with a Pachmayr, because 'That grip may suit Miculek, but my hands hate it'.

How'd it shoot?  Very well.  Very smooth action, clean trigger, and that bead front sight worked.  I was only able to put about 50 rounds through it, which was enough to make me decide I want one(note to self, I really need to find that winning lottery ticket).  I checked around, and finding moon clips for one isn't a problem, and they should last forever.  Loading them isn't bad, but I'm told unloading them, unless you have a tool for it(like this or this), is a PITA.

Shoot well, and Earl Harbinger* carries one; why wouldn't I want one?

Now I've got to go out and mow some places before it hits 'melt you in the yard' temperatures.

How you know your 'red flag' law is a effing disgrace

to the concepts of justice and due process:
The initial report and hearing can be done over the phone, all while the accused is completely oblivious proceedings are taking place to have his or her firearms confiscated. There is no due process at this first hearing – which is the hearing where permission is given to confiscate gun! Even Colorado Attorney General Weiser admits to the lack of due process.
...
14 days later is the first time the accused will have a chance to defend themselves against this non-crime. The burden of proof will fall on the accused, not on the petitioner who can actually provide affidavits rather than attend court!
...
There is zero accountability for false accusers. In fact, the filing fee is $0! For comparison, requesting a Temporary Restraining Order in Colorado is $97. Attorney General Weiser also admitted false claims will be par for the course. And possibly one of the worst parts of this bullshit:
The ERPO will go on a person's permanent record EVEN if it is dismissed, meaning it will show up on background checks, etc.
So the dickheads who came up with this and helped push it ADMIT it violates due process, ADMIT false claims 'will be par for the course', and then this shit will be on your record forever?

People's lives are going to be destroyed with this, someone is likely to wind up dead, and they or their survivors are going to bring ALL of this up in the lawsuits and civil rights cases.  Which will be too late for the destroyed and dead.

Politician, lamppost, rope: some assembly required.

FBI: "Why chase actual terrorists when we can

get a drug dealer to help us set up a mentally-retarded guy? It's a lot safer."

How many bad things can you see in this bullshit?

One of the things that comes to mind I've mentioned before: they try this on someone who actually does want to commit a terror attack, and while they think they're playing him he's using them.  And the 'deactivated' device they provide is turned into or substituted with a real one.

I don't know if I did something, or

if the weather's got something to do with it, but if my knees asked for a divorce I'd agree to it.  This sucks.

In other news- screw it, right now I don't care.

Except for one thing: some Democrat operatives with bylines are pushing a meme that 'There have been more mass shootings than days so far this year!' bullshit.  That they're actually so dishonest/ignorant/incompetent to push such crap is amazing.
