Why, you'd think NYeffingCity doesn't want this to go to court...
New York City decided to change a portion of its gun laws related to the transport of firearms just a few months after the Supreme Court decided to review a lawsuit scrutinizing the city’s gun control laws.
"If we change this, and keep it from going to the SC, we can change it back later. And if it goes to the SC and we lose, it'll affect laws in a lot of other places" is what I imagine is going through minds. Especially after this:
The state of New York lost in court over its ban on stun guns and tasers last month when a federal judge ruled that the state’s prohibition of the devices by “all citizens for all purposes, even for self-defense in one’s own home, must be declared unconstitutional.”
That must've caused severe butthurt throughout the city: "Imagine, all those commoners can have those things now! This is terrible!"
I look forward to far worse butthurt in the future.

Civil rights win in Illinois
A federal court on Thursday cleared the way for an Illinois rape
victim to have a gun in her public housing apartment to protect herself
from further domestic violence, the latest judicial victory for Second
Amendment advocates.
Senior Judge J. Phil Gilbert for the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Illinois in Benton, Ill., issued a permanent injunction on the East St. Louis Housing Authority's gun ban, claiming it violated the Second and 14th Amendments letting citizens protect themselves.
The Illinois leftists will be howling in outrage that a commoner can now keep a useful tool for self-defense.

"My school seemed to not know what it was doing," he said.
Oh no, they knew exactly what they were doing; it's the Dark and Fascist State of New Jersey, after all, and they want total control over what people say and think and do.
The Constitution is just an obstacle to their plans to these asshats.
The Constitution is just an obstacle to their plans to these asshats.
That just doesn't sound right
for 10k rounds of anything:
Test Results
1. Rifle was shot to 10,000 rounds
2. No throat erosion was detected.
3. No rifling wear was detected.
4. No gas port distortion was detected.
Saying these bullets caused no more, or less, wear than standard designs would be one thing, but some of the wear in those areas comes from propellant gas, and I'm not sure how a less-wearing bullet would prevent that.

If this crap passes, more people will leave Californicated
(and those who can't will make plans for when they can), which means a smaller tax base, which means these idiots will want to raise even more taxes...
Just picking one of this mix of "We need more money! AND we need more control over people!",
Following a national trend – and concerns over the risks of obesity and diabetes – Democratic lawmakers in the state have proposed a tax on the sugary beverages, which include soft drinks, sweetened iced teas, coffees and sports drinks. While details have remained vague on how much these taxes would be, Democratic Assemblyman Richard Bloom has supported a 20-cent-per-ounce tax in previous proposals.
I foresee a blossoming of smuggling of any "How dare you want to drink something we disapprove of!" drinks.
Someone should propose a tax on illegal aliens; that would raise one helluva lot, except the illegals wouldn't pay it and Californicated wouldn't try to make them. Also, that's probably the ONE tax those idiots wouldn't support.

This needs reading in full
I put my phone down and continue to
look around. I see people talking freely, working on their MacBook’s,
ordering food they get in an instant, seeing cars go by outside, and it
dawned on me. We live in the most privileged time in the most prosperous nation and we’ve become completely blind to it. Vehicles, food,
technology, freedom to associate with whom we choose. These things are
so ingrained in our American way of life we don’t give them a second
thought. We are so well off here in the United States that our poverty
line begins 31 times above the global average. Thirty. One. Times.
Virtually no one in the United States is considered poor by global
standards. Yet, in a time where we can order a product off Amazon with
one click and have it at our doorstep the next day, we are
unappreciative, unsatisfied, and ungrateful.
Our unappreciation is evident as the popularity of socialist policies among my generation continues to grow. Democratic Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez recently said to Newsweek talking about the millennial generation, “An entire generation, which is now becoming one of the largest electorates in America, came of age and never saw American prosperity.”
Never saw American prosperity. Let that sink in. When I first read that statement, I thought to myself, that was quite literally the most entitled and factually illiterate thing I’ve ever heard in my 26 years on this earth. Now, I’m not attributing Miss Ocasio-Cortez’s words to outright dishonesty. I do think she whole-heartedly believes the words she said to be true. Many young people agree with her, which is entirely misguided. My generation is being indoctrinated by a mainstream narrative to actually believe we have never seen prosperity. I know this first hand, I went to college, let’s just say I didn’t have the popular opinion, but I digress.

Fuck New York
New York lawmakers on Tuesday refused to advance a bill that would have provided free college tuition to the families of military personnel from the state who were killed in the line of duty.
...
The move comes a week after lawmakers passed a $175 billion state budget that included $27 million to provide college tuition aid for undocumented immigrants.
Just friggin' wonderful, isn't it?

It's not just 'transgender ideology': it's leftists using that as another club
to beat people into submission to Proper Thinking.
From what I've read, you have a few people(it's very few) whose brain chemistry and plumbing are not matched; those people have a real problem that may be properly treated with surgery and such. You have a larger number that don't have the chemistry problem, but have mental problems and have decided being the other sex would make them happy(or happier); surgery and hormones aren't going to fix them.* Then you have the asshats who want to announce they're a non-binary non-hetero(fill in the blanks); they're just activist idiots who want to shock people and be transgressive.
Problem is the leftists have pushed this to this point:
The terrifying precedent set by this case can be illustrated by one, flabbergasting fact: The judge in the case refused to allow Whatcott's lawyer to offer testimony showing that, in point of fact, Oger is a biological male. According to the judge, "the 'truth' of [Whatcott's] statements in the flyer is not a defense." As such, said the judge, "evidence is simply not relevant to the legal issue..."
Read that again. Let it sink in. Truth is not a defense. Evidence doesn't matter. What matters — it would seem — is whether someone's feelings were hurt. And thus, with a stroke of the pen, the rule of law is replaced with the rule of feelings. But as Whatcott has just learned, and I suspect many more are about to learn, feelings can be far more ruthless and unyielding taskmasters than laws.
That's one hell of a club to use on people. And a horrible thing to do to the rule of law. This crap is not going to end well.
*Yes, I know, it may a few; in general, it won't make them happy.

Can you say "Democrats severly pissed that they couldn't shut her up"?
My grandfather has picked cotton and he has also had experiences with the Democrat terrorist organization of that time, the Ku Klux Klan. They would regularly visit his home and they would shoot bullets into it. They had an issue with his father, my great-grandfather.
...
There isn't a single adult today that in good conscience would make the argument that America is a more racist, more white nationalist society than it was when my grandfather was growing up and yet we are hearing these terms center around today because what they want to say is that brown people need to be scared which seems to be the narrative that we hear every four years right ahead of a presidential election."
I hope she keeps her eyes open, because they're really going to want to shut her up, any way they can.
Ah, the Labour Party; I suspect they'd feel right at home
with some national socialists from recent history.
Members who made comments such as “Heil Hitler,” “Fuck the Jews” and “Jews are the problem” have not been expelled despite complaints filed against them a year ago, the report said.
A councilor in Lancashire was readmitted despite having ranted about “Jewish media” and “Rothchilds,” after explaining she had uttered the terms “as a blanket term of description without any racist connotations.”
Last month, the report said, Thomas Gardiner — an ally of Corbyn who heads Labour’s governance and legal unit — blocked efforts to expedite proceedings against a party member who lashed out at Jewish MPs Margaret Hodge and Ruth Smeeth as “a couple of shit-stirring c** buckets bought and paid for by Israel” and “cretinous pieces of shit” who needed to “fuck off back under their stones.”
In another case, a lawmaker was let off with a warning after saying the Board of Deputies of British Jews umbrella group were “c****” and that the comment was “not anti-Semitic, it’s anti-c***. See Israel.”
The defense is "No, this is just selective leaks, we're taking care of this!"
Uh huh. Sure.

But they think they can keep people from getting guns...
Accessible only by foot on a steep,
winding pathway camouflaged by thick vegetation, the ramshackle shop owned by I. Launa has a tattered tarpaulin roof, a work table and several machines for cutting and shaping steel. The whole operation can be packed up and moved on short notice.
Illegal
gun making is a livelihood that has helped put food on the table and
send the family’s children to school since the 1970s, and Mr. Launa, who
asked that only the initial of his first name be used for fear of being
arrested, is just one of a host of such small-scale gunsmiths in the
region. His village alone is home to about a dozen.
And that's in a place where you can't go to a store a buy a benchtop mill or lathe and plug it into a wall outlet.

Busy last few days,
the weather weenies were full of crap, and I'm beat.
I shall try to have something coherent to say tomorrow.
