The weather kind of sucks tonight

which makes it a good time to stay in and inspect new data

Seems like a lot of these turning up lately

The 700-year-old sword, discovered in the Vrbas River, was found 36 feet underwater, stuck in a rock while archaeologists were excavating a nearby castle, The Sun reports. The Vrbas is a 150-mile long river in the heart of Bosnia, right near the city of Banja Luka.

Archaeologist and curator at the Museum of the Republika Srpska, Ivana Pandzic, said the sword was stuck in "a solid rock, so special care was needed when pulling it out" in comments obtained by The Sun.

In Denmark
Workers digging a sewer in the Danish city of Aalborg have unearthed a remarkably well-preserved sword that dates back to at least the 14th century.

Norway

The Glacier Archaeology Program at Oppland County Council was recently notified about the sword, which was found in late August in the high mountains of the Lesja area. “It is a common type of Viking sword - what makes it special is the context and the preservation: It was found at 1640 m [5381 feet] above sea level,” explained Lars Pilø, an archaeologist at Oppland County Council, in an email to Fox News. “To my knowledge, a Viking sword has never been found at such a high altitude before.”
This one truly is in incredible condition, all things considered.

Texas, what the hell has happened to you?

Republican Texas Gov. Greg Abbott said that two government departments are investigating after a jury returned a verdict against Jeffrey Younger, who was petitioning for full custody of his son, in part to avoid his ex-wife’s plan to infuse him with puberty-blocking hormones.
This is bloody horrible.  And the bitch behind this...

Good. He's a miserable excuse for a peace officer, and

a miserable shit in general.
After hours of debate filled with gripping, emotional details about the Marjory Stoneman Douglas massacre and soaring rhetoric about constitutional rights and the weighty responsibilities of elected officials, the Florida Senate voted Wednesday to remove suspended Broward Sheriff Scott Israel.
Despite all the evidence, all the crap, "We have to protect our fellow Democrat no matter what!"

Please note:
The 25-15 vote was mostly along party lines with Republicans, who are a majority in the Senate and loyal to the Republican governor, generally supporting removal while most Democrats voted to reinstate the Democratic sheriff. All five Broward senators voted for reinstatement, despite the wishes of Parkland parents.
"You peasants don't count, we have to protect a fellow Party member above all else!"

Hopefully some voters will take that lesson to heart.

From three years ago, and still very important

But in an unsigned opinion, the U.S. Supreme Court Monday vacated that ruling. It said the Massachusetts court improperly found that Second Amendment protection applies only to weapons that were in common use at the time of the nation's founding.

Referring to its landmark 2008 ruling on handguns in the home, the justices said the Second Amendment applies “to all instruments that constitute bearable arms,” even those not in existence at the time of the founding
SERIOUSLY important.

There was some range time,

but I'm too beat to write much.  It was windy, with lots of gusting, so no stellar results.  More on that tomorrow(I hope).

Beta O'Rourke thinks he's the Red Queen:

"It's not confiscation if I don't call it that."
O'Rourke has called for mandatory buybacks of AR-15s and AK-47s, and said he would send police offers to seize guns from owners who did not comply.

Yet he disagreed when Joe Scarborough, host of MSNBC's Morning Joe, characterized his plan last week as the "confiscation of guns."
Miserable little chickenshit liar.

First, Police Chief Mark Saloio and the rest of the Stasi involved in this

are disgraces to the title Peace Officer.*

Second, the idiot waitress who reported him as a 'possible threat' should be shunned by every customer.

Third, this is the kind of shit 'Red Flag' laws lead to.

*It's the People's Republic of MA, and the kind of jackbooted thug behavior we've come to expect hearing about from the Stasi there.

If I had a kid or grandkid in Seattle schools,

I'd get them out.  Because these people are idiots.   I mean REALLY idiots.  If you think how to count must include "We must study the oppression in math and science", you're a fucking IDIOT.

Seattle’s new math framework grew out of a 2017 community campaign, led by the NAACP, for more attention to ethnic studies. Its work to blend math and ethnic studies draws on conversations that have been unfolding for decades in the field of ethnomathematics, which focuses on cultural links to math, and in a movement known as “rehumanizing math.”

Ethnomathematics, which studies the intersection of math and culture, ...These people...

Just like Weinstein:

Everybody knew about this piece of garbage, but he said all the right things politically(and in Weinstein's case brought in lots of cash), so all the "Women must be respected/believed!" people kept their mouth shut.
