Oh me, oh my, some people with gold
just crapped their pants.
Two years ago, stories of fake tungsten-filled gold coins and bars began to spread; it appears, between the shortage of physical gold (after Asian central bank buying) and the increase in smuggling (courtesy of India's controls among others) that gold fraud is back on the rise. As SCMP reports, a mainland China businessman, Zhao Jingjun, discovered that HK$270 million of 998kg of gold bars he bought in Ghana had been swapped for non-precious metal bars. What is perhaps even more worrisome, given the probe into commodity-financing deals and the rehypothecation evaporation; these gold bars were shipped to a Chinese warehouse before Zhao was able to confirm the fraud.
What? The PRC might not want someone examining the evidence? Gee, I wonder why...

Ok, so treat these bastards the way they treat people
who get incorrect advice from the IRS.
Times seven.
The IRS has told Congress that it lost more than two years’ worth of emails involving former IRS official Lois Lerner, due to a computer crash.
House Ways and Means Committee Chairman Dave Camp (R-Mich.) on Friday said it was “unacceptable” that he was just learning of this problem now, after a lengthy investigation into Lerner’s involvement in the IRS targeting scandal.
Bastards are lying. Again. Chance of them actually being called to account? Damn near zero; Holder's covering for them, and corrupt assholes like Rep. Cummings as well. Although this is an interesting next step:
Rep. Steve Stockman (R-Texas) asked the National Security Agency on Friday to turn over all the metadata it has collected on the email accounts of former IRS official Lois Lerner from January 2009 to April 2011. Stockman’s clever move comes hours after the tax agency apparently claimed it had lost Lerner’s emails from that same time period due to a computer glitch.

Yeah, I'd be pretty pissed too;
matter of fact, I AM pissed.
Alison Spann was only 9 years old when she told the devastating news that her hero father had become the first American killed in the war in Afghanistan. What she found out 13 years later about the man reportedly behind the death of her father, a U.S. Marine and CIA operative, left her in “shock.”
The man who is reportedly responsible for Johnny Michael “Mike” Spann’s death is Mullah Mohammad Fazi. If the name sounds familiar, it’s because he is one of the five Taliban commanders that President Barack Obama recently released from Guantanamo Bay in exchange for Army Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl.
But we're assured that- aw, screw it, that incompetent and treacherous bastard occupying the Oval Office is either so friggin' incompetent he doesn't understand just what he turned loose, or so set on closing Gitmo- without having the balls to just do it- that he doesn't care about the end results for other people.
And the bastard's still voting 'present'...

I don't know as I'd race it, but
to ride it on that day? Damn.
If you just want to run the course, you can partake in "Mad Sunday," a day each year during TT where spectators can run the mountain course on their own motorcycles, brought over by ferry from the English mainland. But while no speed limit is enforced on Isle of Man, Mad Sunday is still more of a motorcycle tour of the course than an actual race.
And, despite the nanny-state that is Britain,
It's actually surprisingly easy to do, if you can get yourself and your bike all the way to the British Isles, of course. But not during the TT race – that's the major league of Isle of Man racing. Amateurs can instead race in the Manx Grand Prix, a separate race held in August/September that caters to novice racers, privateers, and IOM TT hopefuls.
When you get there, you can race in the Newcomers class, designated especially for racers with no previous experience on the Isle’s Mountain Circuit. The only limitations are a maximum displacement of 600cc on your machine, and that you wear a red jersey designating you as a newcomer during practice sessions. Reach a qualifying time during the Newcomer’s race, and you’re immediately qualified to move up to higher race classes.

"I have an electric car!
I don't need fossil fuels!"
The mind reels
Speaking of, the CoP of Sodom on the Potomac needs to be fired and prosecuted. Likewise a few others, including Feinstein:
Pro-gun confiscation Senator Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) has managed to land Chief Cathy Lanier of the Metropolitan Police Department in a criminal scandal. Lanier conspired with D.C. and Philadelphia Police to provide Feinstein with weapons in blatant disregard of the city’s draconian gun laws.
Same department that arrests and prosecutes people for fired cartridge cases and muzzleloader bullets, but when there's a politician to suck up to, Lanier can't bend over fast enough.

The result of planning your energy needs on bird cuisinarts
and unicorn farts:
Great Britain is in the midst of an energy crisis. The country’s climate agenda has curtailed electricity production and now there may not be enough power to continually keep the lights on in the UK.
Britain’s energy crisis is getting so bad that the country faces “Second World War-style” rationing in order to keep the lights on throughout the country, according to the Register.
The government is launching major energy reforms to lower power demand and reopen power plants previously shut down to comply with European Union environmental rules. One such reform is that the government will pay factories to “voluntarily” shut down during peak hours when wind energy can’t produce enough power.
'Voluntarily', right. As in "Volunteer to shut down during these hours, or else." That'll work WONDERFULLY!
Also, they're going to pay businesses to shut down? Where's that money coming from? Where else: increased taxes. That'll really help the economy.
Oh, dear Lord, from one of the linked articles:
Steve Holliday, chief executive of National Grid, said this would include businesses such as factories, which use a lot of energy, reducing their electricity usage on days when there is low wind and receiving payments in return.
Mr Holliday said that it would be very expensive to solve the problem by building extra back-up power stations that would only run infrequently, and it would be cheaper for consumers to instead fund measures to cut demand.
Got that? "Rather than stop building windmills, we want people to get used to not having enough power to run things all the time."
And this is what the enviroweenies want to happen here, too.

There is an idiot: Missouri State Rep. Stacey Newman,
who likes to say stupid things to get her name around. Her next 'War on Women!' move will probably be telling the university to get rid of the song entirely. Followed, no doubt, by demands for it to prostrate itself before her in abject surrender.
More of the wonders of government-controlled health care:
A Department of Veterans Affairs memo that prohibits top administrators from answering questions from members of Congress, the media or veterans' groups is being called a “gag order” meant to cover up agency wrongdoing by a Kansas congressman.
Rep. Tim Huelskamp, R-Kansas, backed the charge by releasing the June 4 e-mail from Janet Murphy, acting deputy under secretary for health at VA, to dozens of top-tier officials nationwide instructing them not to talk to outsiders, including members of local congressional delegations.
...
On May 30, Sen. Pat Roberts, R-Kansas, was told during a visit to the facility that there were no patients on unauthorized waiting lists, according to Huelskamp.
Three hours later, the facility issued a letter acknowledging nine veterans on the list. By June 4, Huelskamp heard media reports there were 385, which prompted him to drive to Wichita.
An official report from VA issued Monday acknowledged 104 patients on improper waiting lists.
And, in a massive understatement,
Also Wednesday, the Blaze reported that Rep. Martha Roby, R-Ala., says she was misled by VA hospital officials who told her on Friday that employees responsible for falsifying patient wait lists “were no longer working at the VA.”
It turned out those employees were reassigned, not fired.
“I believe I was misled,” Roby said.
No, Rep. Roby, you were LIED TO. You might as well say it.

Assistance needed for the family of someone who stepped up
The family of Joseph Wilcox, the gun owner who tried to intervene
after the Las Vegas killers entered a Walmart only to be ambushed by the
female as he confronted the male, faces the burden of financial worries
in addition to their grief, the Las Vegas Review-Journal reported Monday.
His mother, Debra Wilcox, has no money to pay for his funeral.
A Wilcox Memorial Fund has been set up at Wells Fargo, the story reports.
“Those who wish to contribute to the Joseph R. Wilcox Memorial Fund can do so using account number 8485852688,” it advises. “Donations to the Wilcox family also can be made from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. Tuesday morning at Dunkin’ Donuts, 10100 S. Eastern Ave., Henderson; or at Dunkin’ Donuts, 6935 N. Durango Drive.”
...Wells Fargo customer service advised this correspondent via telephone that those wishing to contribute can go to any Wells Fargo branch nationwide, but should provide the complete account number.
If you've got a couple of dollars to spare, this would be a good place for it to go.

In which the FDA discovers
that a lot of the DC weenies they depend on really like cheese made the original way.
Yes! Following an enormous outcry from cheese makers, commentators, and the general public, the agency beats a hasty retreat. Commentator/ Pepperdine lawprof Greg McNeil has the details at Forbes (and his earlier commentary on the legalities of the agency’s action is also informative). Earlier here.
In a classic bureaucratic move, the agency denied it had actually issued a new policy (technically true, if you accept the premise that a policy letter from its chief person in charge of cheese regulation is not the same as a formally adopted new policy) and left itself the discretion to adopt such a policy in future if it wishes (merely declaring itself open to persuasion that wood shelving might prove compatible with the FSMA).
All is not well; they left the door open to doing it again later, and there's all the other crap they want to crap with(and on).
More: Andrew Coulson, Cato, and on the trade aspects, K. William Watson. On the FDA’s new statement: “Typical bureaucratic doublespeak that seems meant to maximize uncertainty for the regulated community” [Eric Bott of Wisconsin Manufacturers and Commerce] “This was the worst possible outcome. It reinforces elites’ view that regulators are reasonable and wise and will fix mistakes.” [@random_eddie] “Pay no attention to the Leviathan behind the cheesecloth” [Scott Lincicome, in an exchange after a writer at Slate observed that "Libertarians aren't the only ones" who might want to keep board-aged cheese legal]
Also, over here they note that it appears the FDA broke the law in this(though when was the last time that bothered the clowns?).

Anyone surprised?
Take ANYTHING that happened at/near a school and claim it as a 'school shooting' so as to scare people into saying "We must DO something! More laws!"
This is the level of honesty we've come to expect from these clowns.
Tim Scott won his primary. Bigtime. Expected to win the election for the seat. How does the left react to a black Republican success? Badly.
So Obama openly says he wants to ban semi-auto firearms. Because 'The Children!' And lies about crime rates to push it. But nobody wants to take our guns, oh no.
Except when they do.

Michael Z. Williamson
Let's have a quote from a true 'Government monopoly on violence' guy:
As I have said before, the ever more sophisticated weapons piling up in the arsenals of the wealthiest and the mightiest can kill the illiterate, the ill, the poor and the hungry, but they cannot kill ignorance, illness, poverty or hunger
Fidel Castro
Let it be noted that this is a man who wanted nuclear-armed missiles, sent his henchmen Che out to murder(Che, let us remember was dead-set on using those missiles on us), and managed to take an island with
Rich soil and year-round growing season,
An ocean full of fish, and
People not afraid of work,
and managed to make everyone but the Party minions hungry and destitute. That takes work.
Speaking of Party minions, Eric Cantor just had his ass handed to him. Hoooah!

This piece is supposed to be a defense of the "RAPE CULTURE!!
WE HAVE TO DO SOMETHING!!" crap running 'round on campuses. Let me boil this crap down for you:
"We don't want to be bothered with that 'beyond reasonable doubt' and 'the accused has rights' crap; we want to be able to declare the man guilty because a woman says so, and throw him out! If you don't like it, you hate women!"
Just how effing screwed this is:
While there was no watershed case establishing sexual assault as a form of gender discrimination, a federal court ruled on student-on-student sexual assault in a case involving Yale University in 2003. "There is no question that a rape," the ruling held, "constitutes severe and objectively offensive sexual harassment."
No, it's not, you farging moron in a black robe, it's a bloody CRIME. For which the accused is supposed to get a TRIAL, and if convicted go to PRISON. But this garbage is being used to justify "You can't have a lawyer, you can't cross-examine, you sit there and be found guilty, or else we'll double-plus expel you!"
Which is why you now have male students suing colleges for playing "The Party says you're guilty, who needs a trial?" games. Hope the get both ears and the tail.

Yeah, Sheriff, you really need that friggin MRAP, don't you?
Pulaski County, Indiana, is home to less than 14,000 people. In all
of 2012, they saw only 11 larceny or theft incidents, one murder and a
grand total of 17 property crimes.
Yet, their police force has a mine-resistant ambush protection vehicle at their disposal.
...
“The United States of America has become a war zone,” Sheriff Gayer said when justifying the purchase. “There’s violence in the workplace, there’s violence in schools and there’s violence in the streets. You are seeing police departments going to a semi-military format because of the threats we have to counteract. If driving a military vehicle is going to protect officers, then that’s what I’m going to do.”
Yeah, no. Officer deaths are down, violent crime is down, you just want the closest you can get to a friggin' tank. Because 'officer safety'.
At least he hasn't gone(yet) to the full-retard of Sgt. Dan Downing of the Morgan County Sheriff's Department who openly says they need armored vehicles 'because of all the military veterans out there'.
A little more on the level of toys LE agencies are getting.
Remember Col. Bateman? The 'expert at managing violence' who drools(so he says) at the thought of taking our guns from our cold, dead hands?
Well, look out, boy, he's had enough and he's coming for us!
However, let's say that the guys at TAH aren't exactly impressed. Neither is Michael Williamson:
In short, he's the textbook example of the small-dicked little limpwrist who joined the military to prove he's not, and hates guns because he does have something to compensate for. Likely why he's been cuckolded twice and divorced. He doesn't measure up, literally and emotionally. Google "psychological projection."
...
In reality, he's just jealous that my teenage daughter (who was 11 in this picture) is more of a man than he is, has more weapons handling experience, and thinks he's a pussy:

Why you're not seen as Officer Friendly anymore, Reason #297:
You're an oathbreaking, lawbreaking sack of shit like this:
When Heller returned to his monster truck from a hip hop concert, it was ripped to shreds. The reason is simple: they didn’t know where to find the pot they claim emitted a strong odor. When the cops broke in and found nothing, they just kept searching. And searching. Ripping the truck apart because it just had to be there somewhere.
To their credit, at least the police didn’t leave Heller to think that the damage was done by common thieves or vandals.
"We're not common vandals, we have badges!" Etc. ad bullshit.
And another, Reason #298: You practice theft under color of law.
Texas law enforcement are continuing to enrich themselves using a little-known legal doctrine known as civil forfeiture, according to a new series of investigative reports. Under civil forfeiture, property can be forfeited even if its owner has never been charged with a crime. In these proceedings, accused criminals have more rights than innocent owners and the government sues the property, not its owner. These cases can be so baffling, one Texas Supreme Court Justice recently compared civil forfeiture to Alice in Wonderland and the works of Franz Kafka. But civil forfeiture isn’t just a quirky curiosity—it’s a powerful incentive for law enforcement to take millions.
Speaking of bullshit, the media and administration have been trying to tie the two lowlifes who murdered three people in Nevada to the militia movement and the Bundy case. However,
“Just got off the phone with Jerry Delemus, the head of the outer security operation the day that these folks were turned away,” Vanderboegh reported. “These people looked to me like the couple we turned away and Jerry confirmed it. He is positive on the ID.
‘[A]lthough they ... had been interviewed by the media, the interview was done on the property (not owned by the Bundys) below the outer security area where we were a couple of days later when they ventured up to volunteer,” Vanderboegh explained. “The important thing, since the media are already tarring the Bundys with the ‘association’ is, the two of them never got on the Bundy property (not even the outer security camp was on Bundy property); to my knowledge they never met the Bundys; on my recommendation, they were turned away by both Jerry & Stewart.
...
UPDATE: While Obama administration Interior Secretary Sally Jewell is trying mightily to tie Miller in with the Bundys, The Washington Post reports:
Oh, they'll try, but it won't be legitimate.
Totally different matter, but it'll take some of the bad taste out of your mouth: something to offend the perpetually offended, #yesallwomenjokes.
You'll notice that the Usual Suspect types are seriously bent out of shape about this.
“There’s a little note left on a 2×3 piece of paper,” said Heller.Among the questions Cpl Fanning should be asked- under oath- is "Do you remember anything ever being mentioned in your training about the 4th Amendment? You do? They why did you so blatantly violate it and then claim you did nothing wrong?"
The note read “Sir, your car was checked by TPD K-9. The vehicle was searched for marijuana due to a strong odor coming from the passenger side of the vehicle. Any questions call Cpl Fanning.”

The Millers went to Bundy’s ranch, about 80 miles outside of Las Vegas, in April, they said on social media sites. But the militiamen shunned the couple because Jerad Miller had prior felony convictions in Washington State. The media and Democrats must be pulling their hair out; another couple of murderers they can't legitimately tie to the tea party and/or militia movement.

Let's see, missiles go Qatar go to the enemy, and now
we give them five Taliban commanders... this President really is on the other side.
The next day, an explosive ordnance disposal team arrived to pick through the wreckage and found unexploded pieces of a missile casing that could only belong to a Stinger missile.
Lodged in the right nacelle, they found one fragment that contained an entire serial number.
The investigation took time. Arms were twisted, noses put out of joint. But when the results came back, they were stunning: The Stinger tracked back to a lot that had been signed out by the CIA recently, not during the anti-Soviet jihad.
Any further questions what the ambassador was doing in Benghazi?
My sources in the US Special Operations community believe the Stinger fired against the Chinook was part of the same lot the CIA turned over to the Qataris in early 2011, weapons Hillary Rodham Clinton’s State Department intended for anti-Khadafy forces in Libya.
This was, if I recall, after Khadafy had already offered a deal to leave power and Libya, but that wasn't good enough. Not enough chance for the islamists to take over.
They believe the Qataris delivered between 50 and 60 of those same Stingers to the Taliban in early 2012, and an additional 200 SA-24 Igla-S surface-to-air missiles.
Lightning. Nature's way of saying "I don't like this tree."

Shannon Watts has apparently gone to flat public lies
as her preferred techinique.
...Is there an example in school shootings or a mall shooting or these public facilities, where that has been wrong? Where a bad guy with a gun has been stopped in any other way or by a person other than a law enforcement officer with a gun or by killing himself?
Watts responded: "This has never happened. Data shows it doesn't happen."
But it does happen--and it happens all the time.
But Moms Wants Action(Subsidiary of Bloomberg, Inc.) don't like that fact. So they pretend it doesn't exist.

Are you listening, Capitol Hill and America?
The Bowe Bergdahl mess
isn’t just a story about one deserter, but two. There’s the
muddle-headed lowlife who left his post and brothers behind. And there’s
the corrupt commander-in-chief who has jeopardized more American
soldiers’ lives to “rescue” Bergdahl by bowing to the Taliban, while
snubbing the surviving heroes and at least 8 dead American soldiers who
lost their lives because of him.
Yeah, a bunch of us are listening; it's the politicians in & out of uniform and the useful idiots who're not.
This attitude needs to spread:
So when we throw a flash-bang stun grenade into a baby's crib and critically injure the child, and claim that we've done nothing wrong because OMG drugs!, well, we're not being the Good Guys anymore.
I'm done with people's grandparents dying in a hail of bullets as they respond with a gun in hand to the intruders in their house, who happen to be cops serving a search and arrest warrant on their grandkid.
I'm done with no-knock warrants.
He has indeed. And I really don't like thinking about the long-term consequences of this.
As Robinson put it, "the president has to follow the law. He waited five years. ... Bergdahl's health was not an issue. Why couldn't he have alerted Congress and waited just 30 more days?" And then Robinson answered his own question.
"It's to show a success to the low-information voters ... a feather in his cap ... because the midterm elections are just around the corner."
In addition, these men (I was not able to interview any military women) wonder why Bergdahl is free while just across the Mexican border, a U.S. Marine still sits in a Mexican jail after being arrested two months ago. Sgt. Andrew Tahmooressi insists that while moving across country, he accidentally crossed the border. His offense? He carried three (legally owned) guns among his possessions.
Forget what the politicians on Capitol Hill are saying about the prisoner swap. Forget the pontifications from the myriad talking heads on TV and radio. Now you know what members of our U.S. military are thinking and saying. They have lost all respect for their commander in chief.
It chills me to the bone.
Add this into the mix:
The Obama administration passed up multiple opportunities to rescue Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl because the president was dead-set on finding a reason to begin emptying Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, according to a Pentagon official.
'JSOC went to the White House with several specific rescue-op scenarios,' the official with knowledge of interagency negotiations underway since at least November 2013 told MailOnline, referring to the Joint Special Operations Command. 'But no one ever got traction.'
'What we learned along the way was that the president wanted a diplomatic scenario that would establish a precedent for repatriating detainees from Gitmo,' he said.
Translation: Obama doesn't have the balls to just close the place(as he promised and KEEPS promising to do) so he decided that playing "I shall save this soldier by releasing these terrorists and murderers" would be a way to start turning bad guys loose. Way to go, Lightbringer.
