One of the things most of the left is ignoring in Iran

Thought occurred, also, of a reason why the left isn't cheering this:
The left likes to scream for 'Decolonize!', but that's exactly part of what the Persians are doing; but they're doing it to a religioius/political group the left has been protecting for a long time.  And they can't stand it.

Found this picture at Instapundit, where they've had a bunch of updates on the situation.

Borrowed from Instapundit

And for tonight's clearing

It's a short one

Kim tried a new boomstick

to mixed reviews.  Which brings me to a particular thing he mentioned:
On AR-type rifles, I almost always wear both earplugs and muffs, because I have to work one cup up on that ear in order to get a good cheek weld, and with trying to take care of what hearing I still have I'm not taking chances.

I mentioned in the past I like the Radians earplug kits, because, for some reason, the foam plugs won't stay in place in my ears, they work themselves loose.  The foamies have better noise reduction, but if you have to stop regularly and go outside to put the damn things back in...

Pies and ballistic matching

On the latter, Kevin at Smallest Minority had a piece he did years ago on ballistic fingerprinting, it's still available, and very good.

I hadn't baked pies in quite a while, and I think I do need to go back to butter and flour on the pan.  Cakes and such always had, why I forgot it on pecan pies I don't know.  And thanks to everybody on that.

Be it remembered that the EffingBI laboratories have been caught

being incorrect- or just plain lying- about their results, and their main reaction was to try and cover it up.  To the point of not notifying the lawyers of possible innocent people that the evidence against them was bullcrap.

I will note that daughter was once studying forensics, and became greatly discouraged over time as she found how many of the "We can tell you the Truth!" proclamations were, at best, questionable.

I'm reminded of one of the lawyers who handed the FBI labs ass  to them wondering why more people, faced with what his client had been, did not demand the evidence be evaluated by someone other than the FBI.  Because it turns out that's a very good thing to do.

Well, what would you expect from the BBC?

Just like the Democrats would love to be able to do here.

Also,
More on this one here.

And, I'd guess expecting the Iranian government to shut down internet comm,
Channel 14 Israel: Amid Iran’s internet shutdown, Elon Musk has quietly enabled free Starlink access for protesters, according to people familiar with the matter. The move was implemented several days ago without a public announcement, with protest leaders informed privately. Israeli businessman Dubi Francis raised the issue with Musk’s team after an inquiry from Deputy Minister Almog Cohen. Musk committed to keeping the network open at no cost while protests continue and instructed Starlink executives to block regime interference.
Not exactly unexpected, is it?

No matter how much it'll piss the BBC and their masters off.

A bunch of clowns in Britain- politicians and bureaucrats- need to be decorating trees,

that's the only thing that fits this garbage.
he UK’s Metropolitan Police is facing fierce criticism after a damning review revealed it allowed highly problematic and serious dangerous criminals to enter its ranks due to a combination of extremely poor vetting and diversity goals.

More than 130 officers and staff within the London force, including two convicted serial rapists, were taken on when they should not have been.

The political targets were enacted under the then-Conservative Party government, led by Theresa May at the time.

Politicians, both parties, and lots of bureaucrats.

About that pie pan stuff,

I had an idea and asked daughter, who loves to cook: would it help to put parchment paper on the bottom before put the crust in?

She had no idea, but said might be worth trying.  So I tried it.

No, won't be doing that.  I'm going to go back to Sailorcurt's suggestion of greasing the pan.

I've got two pyrex or whatever glass pans, and aside from the sticking with some pies they work well.

This is also making me wonder about other pies.  Which sound good.

Yes, the Mayor of NYeffingCity and his minions are pretty open about being racists

as well as communists.  And some of them can't handle being questioned or challenged.*

Cea Weaver, the Office to Protect Tenants head, which at base could be a decent thing.  Except:
“She’s Chesa Boudin times a thousand,” an incredulous Tandler said today, referencing the oft-mocked former San Francisco District Attorney
.
**

In one clip, Weaver talked about how “we” can “take over a lot of distressed housing,” and use legal processes to tell “scofflaw” landlords, “We’re gonna take this building away from you.” A video short that went viral showed Weaver talked about moving home ownership from an “individualized good” to a “collective good,” saying that “especially white families, but some POC families” are going to have to embrace a “different relationship to property” than “the one that we currently have”:
Sounds great, huh?  Especially when you add in she's a racist who hates people actually owning property.
Well, she's a communist working for a communist, what would you expect?

And, as you'd expect, hypocrisy of a large level shows up.  And she acts like- well, like some academic "I've never really done anything" who's being actually challenged and asked about her crap for the first time in her life.  Which is probably true.

Oh, New Effing York, you really chose this.  And you're getting the Good and Hard part already.

Added: yes, he's probably right

*Taibbi has written some very good stuff, but you often can only read part of it.  In this case, 'Give me your email address and you can unlock the rest'.  Except the next step is 'Scan this code, THEN you can read the rest.'  No, thank you.

**'Mocked' means called on being a terrorist-supporting, crime-supporting asshat who screwed that city horribly.  Unless you were a crook who wanted to get away with things.

The gentleman had this picture up,

and it sums up the left pretty well
"You are a VICTIM!"  etc.  If you're not the selected victim you are a VICTIMIZER!  "You use honey?  You abuse bees!  You wear wool, you abuse sheep!  You like sex with the other sex, you're a RAPIST!"

Which fits in well with that nutcase hypocrite  who's advising(enabling) the Mayor of NYeffingCity, who says if you own a home you're a racist exploiter, etc., and she wants to take it away from you.  PLANS to take it from you.

Good and Hard, NYeffingCity, you either voted for this or couldn't bother to vote against it.

I will- maybe- start trusting the EffingBI when the people behind this

and a bunch of other abuses- EffingBI, Do'J' and others- are fired, and prosecuted whenever possible.

A pain in the ass that doesn't really mean much to anyone else,

but it's left me thinking "What the hell?"

Pie pans.  Specifically, I want to get some non-stick pie pans.

I spent time yesterday checking through local stores, online and in the places, and none.  A few standard steel pans, a very few fancy ceramics, lots of cake pans and cookie sheets and such, but non-stick pie pans?  Not a damned one.

That includes Wal Mart.  "We can deliver it in 3 days, but we don't carry them in the stores."

Annoying, it is.

"Oh no!

Anyway..."
Cuba says 32 Cuban officers were killed in US operation in Venezuela

There's reason Larry Correia said 'The moral compass of the left is a windsock':

Oh, this must piss off the Brit PM.  Assuming it doesn't scare hell out of him.

It seems that two news agencies- NYeffingTimes and Washington Post- had information about the operation leaked to them, but they- unexpectedly- did NOT publish it prior to the strike.  Which is nice for a change.

Why not?

I can think of two reasons:
1. There may be a few people there who actually think putting US troops and a mission in danger is a bad idea.
2. "You know what our ratings are with the average someone?  Troops get wounded, or killed, or crippled because we put this out, they'll want to hang us!  And what do you think Trump will have to say about us? "

I think 2 is more likely.  And I hope there is some very careful digging to find how WHO leaked it to them, so the bastard can be punished appropriately(I'll leave you to decide just what that would be).

"Yes, but that was different, I thought it made me and my guy

look good!"

Somehow the left is already out with pre-printed signs to protest Maduro getting a full helicopter ride, too.  Isn't that interesting?

In other news Democrat: "If you investigate this, I can arrest you!"

With lots of people pointing out "Really?  Isn't that a violation itself?" and "Doesn't this make you look complicit?"
