This is interesting, in a somewhat scary-as-hell way
From what I've read of past troubles they've had with bio warfare crap, I'd be scared too.

X can be a pain
and give you a link if you use them.
Or, maybe my browser doesn't work with it anymore. I don't know.
El-Sayed, up in Michigan, has the proper socialist "That right is for the States, not the individual" crap on his mind. No wonder the Democrats like him.
Yeah, this time of year that vent was rather nice.
Madam Hoyt had a link to this. I may have to spend some time looking at her other stuff.
...But I thought we had at least reached a broad cultural agreement: YOUR SKIN COLOR DOES NOT DETERMINE YOUR VALUE AS A HUMAN BEING.
This was one of those concepts I thought we could safely move into the “DONE” column. Apparently somebody reopened the ticket. Every so often I encounter someone online who is not merely saying something I disagree with about taxes or immigration or DEI initiatives or policing or any of the other 14 billion subjects on which people can disagree.
I’m talking about actual racist garbage. The genuine article. The belief that race itself determines intelligence, character, worth, civilization, morality, or where somebody belongs in the human pecking order. And then I look at the followers, and then I see people I know.
Mutuals. People I’ve talked to for years. People I thought were friends. And, yes, that bothers me. I would hope I don’t have to write a 1,000-word philosophical treatise explaining why. If somebody is comfortable talking about how people with my skin color are inherently stupid, inferior, violent, uncivilized, or otherwise defective, and you apparently find this person interesting enough that you want their thoughts delivered directly to your electronic breakfast table every morning, I am going to have some questions.
And how, I have PT to attend. And a few other things after that. Busy day.

April 19, a very important day
It's a holiday in Massachusetts and Maine, which was then part of Massachusetts. Should be a national holiday.
July 4 marks the day they published a piece of paper, telling the king to shove it. Important. Up until then it was a civil war. Americans who considered themselves Englishmen fighting British troops. After that, it was Americans fighting the British for their independence.
Patriots Day is first blood.

And back over there in that part of the world,
Why, you'd think those people don't see us as their enemy...
They got the WSO out alive,
Look for the Usual Suspects trying to make this look as bad as possible, and the real enemy on our soil calling for American dead.
Y'know, I have to wonder if the people in charge in Iran thought any about the probably reaction if they had managed to kill our guy. Trump is not Biden or most any other President we've had in a while, and it would probably have involved stomping, with big boots.

And good news from Iran, Added:

Does this not make you think of someone saying "Put these places together on a new target list"
Meanwhile, a Tehran resident said that Basij and IRGC forces—fearing street demonstrations that could turn violent and ahead of Khamenei’s funeral—deployed heavy weapons and armored vehicles at key locations across Tehran.
I could be wrong in my thinking of what they can do, but wouldn't it be nice if this just gathered a bunch of the bastards in nice to bomb locations?

Looks like when this President said '60 days', they really should've listened
I'm sure the left will be pitching fits, and calling Hegseth more names. Because actually taking out an enemy who's threatened and attacked us for years will truly upset them.

Well, they still work
The Israeli military has used a medieval-style trebuchet to lob incendiaries across the northern border into Lebanon.
A video that first emerged on social media on Thursday appeared to show Israel Defence Forces (IDF) soldiers loading the wooden siege engine with flaming projectiles and launching them into Lebanese plantations.
The military responded that the use of the contraption was “a local initiative and not a tool that is widely used”, reported Israeli state broadcaster KAN News.
The ancient artillery weapon was used during the Middle Ages in sieges of castles and other fortified locations.
In this case, the device may have been used to clear dense vegetation in the border area which could help the army prevent terrorists infiltrating Israel, suggested Emanuel Fabian, the Times of Israel military correspondent, who initially posted the video.

On this day in 1775
Whittemore was in his fields when he spotted an approaching British relief brigade under Earl Percy, sent to assist the retreat. Whittemore loaded his musket and ambushed the British grenadiers of the 47th Regiment of Foot from behind a nearby stone wall, killing one soldier. He then drew his dueling pistols, killed a second grenadier and mortally wounded a third. By the time Whittemore had fired his third shot, a British detachment had reached his position; Whittemore drew his sword and attacked.[7] He was subsequently shot in the face, bayoneted numerous times, and left for dead in a pool of blood. He was found by colonial forces, trying to load his musket to resume the fight. He was taken to Dr. Cotton Tufts of Medford, who perceived no hope for his survival. However, Whittemore recovered and lived another 18 years until dying of natural causes at the age of 98.

According to this guy it's not oil production the Ukraine is aiming at,
And it would not surprise me at all if he's right about the Biden people getting it wrong.

There's an old saying about 'making the rubble bounce',
Throw in 'refugees' in other countries celebrating, and it's time for some cleaning out.
While we're at it, add to the list a bunch of colleges. Spend a fortune to send your kid to, say, Harvard so they can learn to do crap like this.
And we have Biden & Co. helping pay for all of it, from the deaths to the tortures to the murders. Ain't it wonderful?

August 6, 1945 was the day

One more thing for today,
My parents knew I was in Burma, and that (with the possible exception of air crew) it was generally believed to be the worst ticket you could draw in the lottery of active service. Those months must have been the longest of their lives; whatever anxieties the soldier may experience in the field can be nothing to the torment of those at home. I don’t know how parents and wives stand it. Perhaps family experience is a help: every generation of my people, as far back as we knew, had sent somebody to war, and my grandmother’s comment on Chamberlain’s speech on September 3, 1939, had been simply: “Well, the men will be going away again.” Her uncle had served in the Crimea, her brother had died in the Second Afghan, two of my aunts had lost sweethearts in the Great War, my father had been wounded in East Africa, and two uncles had been in the trenches; probably it was a not untypical record for a British family over a century, but whether it made my absence easier or harder to bear, who knows?
