Saturday has arrived,

so when you get some free time,

Something about 'fascism always descending on America

but always landing in Europe' comes to mind.
"Proof, citizen?  Not needed, only your feelings count!"

And the hits just keep coming from Broward County, this time more from the school district.
The district is fighting in court against the release of school surveillance video. It flatly refused to issue any records regarding the shooting to the news media, in a possible violation of the state’s open-records law. Superintendent Robert Runcie has blocked critics, including parents, from his Twitter account. More than two months after the shooting, a Broward Sheriff’s detective told a state commission on school safety that he was still waiting for the district to provide all of Cruz’s disciplinary records.
Lie, cover-up, lie some more.  No wonder they worked so well with the sheriff's office.

"I support your freedom of speech, but

shut up" the university explained.
“It was brought to my attention that students were uncomfortable with the letter that Nicole read during open mic last week,” the official wrote in the email. “While I am in support of your freedom of speech, I was implored to reach out you both by more than one student.”

“Anytime I receive a complaint I have to follow up,” she continued. “The unwritten policy has always been after one complaint, you receive a verbal warning and any complaint after than may result in being asked to not perform at open mic. I’ve already had to utilize this unwritten rule once this semester.”
'Unwritten rule'.  Translation: "We won't put this in writing because we could be sued or something."

And Marx forbid some of the snowflakes be made uncomfortable by what someone says!  What do some people think this is, a place to learn?

One more "Yes, but he has the right politics,

so keep your mouth shut about him."

So: another abusive dirtbag, who's also corrupt as hell, but he was a good 'progressive' so all the "We must protect women/clean up politics/save Gaia!" pretenders ignored it.  Kind of a pattern, isn't it?

Sounds like the Hyatt Hotel in Dallas needs new management

And some security weenies who don't have their head up their ass.
Story here.

I wonder when some hoplophobe will announce, "Well, yeah, but at least

they're not using GUNS!"
Britain's knife crime epidemic has spread to the Home Counties as stabbings are now more likely in Bedfordshire than in Merseyside.

Hertfordshire, Hampshire, Warwickshire, Norfolk and north Wales' rates of knife crime have all increased by more than 100 per cent in the past three years, while London's rate only increased by 20 per cent.
Because it's so much less troubling for people to be stabbed to death than to be shot.  Or something.

Added a new one to the blogroll,

Musings Over a Barrel

When idiots run your city,

you get statements like this:
..."But we need companies that are profitable and making billions of dollars every year to help with the folks that are being forced out of housing and ending up on the street."
Yet you're doing everything you can to give them more reasons to get the hell out of your city.  Three guesses how that will end.

The evils of socialized medicine were on full display during the few days the world watched Alfie Evans suffer to death at the hands of the British government’s National Healthcare System (NHS).
After his death, the Daily Signal decided to get the comments of the 15 Democratic senators currently co-sponsoring the “Medicare for All Act of 2017,” spearheaded by Democratic Socialist Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.).
According to the Daily Signal, what they got in return was an eerie silence from the Democrats who apparently decided to go dark after the world watched their beloved system of choice fail so spectacularly:

He didn't shoot him, club him, nothing like that:

He tackled him.  That's it.  And the response:
Officer Guzley remains on patrol but is awaiting potential discipline. One of Guzley’s own supervisors filed the complaint against him with Seattle’s Office of Police Accountability.

The investigation is for "failure to de-escalate." The case remains open, but the recommendation is for Guzley to receive a two-day suspension without pay.
Read the whole thing to find out just how fucking stupid this is.  And just how much that supervisor needs that badge shoved up his ass.
