Saturday night

has arrived

This is such a level of chickenshit and stupid,

it's truly hard to describe.
Dear Amy: This week I discovered that my intelligent, hard-working, responsible 24-year-old daughter (who lives with me) is a gun owner! And it’s not a normal gun either — it is a 40 caliber semi-automatic, and she has hollow point bullets to go with it.
And it goes downhill from there,
I love my daughter and would be so sad for her to move into a place that she would hardly be able to afford, but now I have to lock my bedroom door at night because I don’t know what she’s going to do.
Oh, that's so caring.  I'm sure she likes to be told you think she'll come into your bedroom at night and murder you.

These hoplophobes truly are insane.

Omar's lied about so much else, why not this?

Supporting my colleagues’ call on Senate Majority Leader to vote on H.R. 8, 1112 & 1158.
Gun violence is an epidemic.
Every day on average 500 people die from gun violence. How many more lives will we let gun violence claim?

Let's see... 500 times 365 days is 182,500.  Actual number of homicides involving guns:
On average, there are approximately 30 people killed in the U.S. per day from gun homicides.

Expect the usual Professional Journalists to parrot her numbers without question.

Wettest May and start of June I can remember

At least there's plenty of data to keep you occupied while staying dry

Meanwhile, in (Formerly Great)Britain,

The appalling attack is believed to have filmed by one of the assailants and the clip has since been shared across social media. In the video, the aggressor films the wounded victim and proudly gloats at his injuries for the camera.

In the distressing clip, a group of hooded thugs are seen chasing after the victim down Chapel Close, on bicycle and on foot. A cackling accomplice drives behind them in a car and films the attack.

The gang eventually catch up to the young man and the man filming stops the vehicle to apparently join them. The thugs can be seen savagely kicking, punching and stabbing the victim who lies on the ground.
A: Broad daylight.
B: Hooded and got away(guess all those 'For Your Safety' surveillance cameras didn't do much good).
C: Wonder if all the cops monitoring social media to jail people for saying unapproved things will find who posted it?

Definitely doesn't fit the Preferred Narrative™

This starts off talking about the bombs and grenade attacks(and who knows what else that they're not talking about?), but two things in particular in this paragraph:
There has been a corresponding marked escalation in gang-related shootings, which increasingly take place in broad daylight. Sweden had 45 deadly shootings in what police refer to as ”criminal environments” last year, which is an increase by a factor of 10 in one generation. In contrast, neighbouring Norway has less than three. Deadly shootings per capita in Sweden are now considerably higher than the European average. And systematic witness intimidation, paired with a code of silence in the country’s socio-economically weak immigrant areas, has made this type of crime difficult for the Swedish legal system to tackle.
This despite all the Bloomberg/Watts-approved gun laws.  And I wonder what 'immigrant areas' they might be referring to?

Either the Swedes stop playing PC At Any Cost, or this is going to not just continue, but on a far more steep slope.

And the moment at Oberlin gets even sweeter

The jury just rendered its verdict on punitive damages in the Gibson’s Bakery v. Oberlin College case.

Daniel McGraw, our reporter in the courtroom, reports that in addition to the $11.2 million compensatory damages awarded last Friday, the jury awarded a total of $33 million in punitive damages, which will probably be reduced by the court to $22 million because of the state law cap at twice compensatory (it’s not an absolute cap, but probably will apply here). That brings the total damages to $33 million. We will have the breakdown soon.
The jury also awarded attorney’s fees, to be determined by the judge.
And the wailing of the leftists is heard upon the land.

Not just over losing this case, oh no: every professor, president, dean, and teacher at a university who's taken part in trashing people in the name of Social Justice/bigotry/racism/socialism just got a first-class kick in the balls.  This opens the possibility of any of them being sued by the people they were trying to ruin.

Sweet, it is.

A new experiment

Guy on a Sharps rifle group mentioned trying out some pistol bullets for general practice at shorter ranges, didn't want to mess with paper patching so he tried swaging the bullets a bit larger in diameter so could size them for .45-70.

Well, now.

Take a 250-grain SWC intended for .45 Colt.  Put it in a vise and mash it a bit.  That takes it from the original on the left to the mashed* on the right.
These are from a Lee mold, and come out at .454 with the alloy I'm using, with a height of .693".  After this it went from .693" long to .646.  Diameter went to .461, ran it through a .459 sizer.

Need more than one to try it out, so I did four more, finding that by moving the vise lever to the same point they came out very consistently at .462-.462.  Gave them a fresh coat of the Liquid Alox mix, and they're ready to load.  The question is if they'll stabilize properly, being as short as they are.  We'll see.

*Yes, swaged sounds much better, but 'mashed' does cover it.

I dislike having to take medicines

Or get injections.  But when it actually helps a problem, well, better living through chemistry!

Short version: hip problem that was seriously painful at times.  Enough so that getting things done was difficult to 'I'm not doing this.'  This visit the doc did an injection and prescribed a med to take for a few days.  The injection did calm things down a lot, and if the med helps correct the problem I'll be one very happy guy.

Especially since the yard needs mowing or I'm going to find a bison grazing back there.

'A few bad apples'...

Couple of days ago had the radio on and listened to Sean Hannity inform us that the EffingBI is made up of GREAT! field agents, and it's only a few bad apples in DC that are the problem.

Horseshit

The EffingBI(and the CIA, and Do'J') need to be cleaned out.  Either by the ones who actually care about honesty and honor, or from outside, but if it's not cleaned out it should never be trusted again.  About much of anything.

Speaking of the Do'J', those prosecutors involved in the Sen. Stevens mess aren't the only arrogant lawbreakers in the agency.  Again, either clear these people out and work hard to prevent this happening again, or go away because you cannot be trusted.

What they thought was an extinct volcano

appears to be waking up.  That could get interesting in that part of the world.

Wonder if Rep. Omar considers this an empowering example for other women?

Let me say this up front – no, this is not, on its own, a big deal. It’s the kind of exaggeration, bragging, and general stupidity that happens on Twitter all the time.

BUT, in the context that this idiot later went on to whine that a straight news commentator was ruining his life over jokes on a YouTube channel, it shows how hypocritical he is.

Looks like someone's finally doing something about Omar playing money games.

A prohibited person, wearing a monitor AND

using a banned firearm?  This is clearly unpossible under Australian law.
