Not only did the dump come in,

I've actually remembered to post it

Yes, I missed this last night; publishing called on account of tired and forgot

But never let the search for information be stopped just by that

And the greenies prove, once again, that they're friggin' insane

Read the whole thing, but this sums up an awful lot of it:
Other attempts to go green have met with indifferent success. Several proposals to put windmills atop the Green Mountains – the obvious place for them – have been shouted down or stalled by local objections. An early attempt to put a new wood-burning plant right across the Massachusetts border was also quickly defeated – it would create air pollution. The project was also dampened by a Massachusetts study which concluded that burning trees for energy would soon exhaust the state’s forest resources.

Burlington claims to be the first city in the country to have achieved 100 percent renewable status, although these claims are open to debate. The city’s main source of electricity is the Joseph C. McNeil Generating Station, which was recently converted from coal to wood. The Burlington Electric Department (BED) claims that 75 percent of the wood comes from within 60 miles. This is considered renewable in that trees regrow, although the amount of carbon thrown into the atmosphere has been shown to exceed that of coal. Also, once they are harvested, trees regrow whether they are burned as fuel or not. Another clean source is the recently purchased Winooski Hydroelectric Dam, a small hydro project developed by environmental pioneer John Warshow, who died last month. The dam produces 7.4 megawatts.

Ironically, while some environmentalists have been developing small dams, others have been campaigning to tear down small dams around the state. The Newport 11 dam was recently removed from the Clyde River and other small dams are under fire. The strategy resembles one pursued for years by the Sierra Club, which favors small dams globally but campaigns to tear them down locally. Warshow developed three other small dams around the state.
Effing INSANE.  They get rid of a nuke plant that was clean and efficient AND STARTED BURNING TREES... because 'they'll grow back'(yeah, in how many years?  and did  you get the 'carbon exceeds that of coal' part?).  And they both want dams, and want to tear them down.  Because, well, effing STUPID.

In the interim, Vermont is finding - like California and Germany before it – that the fastest way to a clean energy future is to close down local sources of power and import it from other regions.
"Let's make somebody else generate the power we need somewhere else!  That way we can feel all green and virtuous while the pollution happens somewhere else!"

It's... gaaahhh.

So what happens when two protected species clash?

In Sweden at least, Muslim trumps Gay.

The Facebook page is absolutely filled with angry comments from leftists, attacking the “xenophobic right-wing nationalists” for organizing a gay pride parade through Muslim areas. Since Islam holds that gays should be executed, something like this is obviously an attack on Muslims and should therefore be outlawed. At least, that’s what Swedish leftists – and, indeed, Swedish gays – are saying.
Leftists are organizing a counter-demonstration against this gay pride parade. Yes, really.
RFSL, for those who don’t know, is a taxpayer-funded gay rights group (one of the oldest gay rights groups in the world, established in 1950), and they have publicly attacked this gay pride parade through Muslim areas as a display of racism and white privilege.
Many leftists are also calling for the parade to be legally banned, and for the people who organized it to be arrested for “hate speech” against Muslims.
"You make me sick to be homosexual!  How dare you attack muslims in such a racist way!"  Etc.  I don't know whether to laugh or- aw, screw that, I'm laughing my ass off.  Muslim want homosexuals dead, in countries where they control government the DO kill them, in large numbers; BUT muslims count as a 'More Victim Than Thou' group...

Looks like no more shopping at Target,

when it would help pay morons like these.

More from Miguel
Really Target? Tone deaf much? Or maybe plain blind about the PR optics on this one. You just said to your customers “We at Target don’t give much of a damn about customer safety and we rather see you bleeding.”

I don’t care what the corporate lawyers said, you just don’t step on the stupid gas pedal even if you are “legally” right.

The mind of a gun-grabber makes Target look like it's run by rational people.

A bit more on the "Which is the most victimized victim, so I know who to support?" idiocy.  I'd heard of some of this mess before but the others?  Damn.  Here's one:
A white gay man is still a white man, which goes some way to explaining why their faces and voices are the ones that dominate all LGBT marketing and news, say an increasing number of disgruntled disabled black lesbians.

There was recently a furore over the absolute invisibility of “people of colour” at Pride events, with some even accusing the gay community of white-washing the rainbow. Gay men are the masculine oppressors of the LGBT community. They, like the straight white men before them, will eventually be ejected from polite society.

As a general rule, if you're tearing down flags

and beating people and such because "You offend us!", I'm going to consider you the bad guy/enemy/assholes at the gates.  Doesn't matter if I'm thrilled with the other group or not.

I do have to note that this is going to cause some heartburn among the social justice bully types: two protected groups, one attacks the other, who do they side with?

Also in Texas, on what we're assured is a non-existent problem with illegal aliens,
The murder of Kathryn Steinle on the Embarcadero in San Francisco by an illegal alien is the most familiar example of a crime committed by an alien.  But an unreleased internal report by the Texas Department of Public Safety reveals that aliens have been involved in thousands of crimes in Texas alone, including nearly 3,000 homicides.

PJ Media obtained a never-before-released copy of a Texas DPS report on human smuggling containing the numbers of crimes committed by aliens in Texas.   According to the analysis conducted by the Texas Department of Public Safety, foreign aliens committed 611,234 unique crimes in Texas from 2008 to 2014, including thousands of homicides and sexual assaults.
There are almost certainly more criminal aliens who haven’t been identified as aliens.  The 177,588 criminal aliens identified by Texas through the Secure Communities initiative only can tag criminal aliens who had already been fingerprinted.  Arrests of illegal aliens who have not been fingerprinted prior to arrest are not included in these arrests numbers derived from the Secure Communities initiative.

Trying to take selfies with wild animals

is a good way to get recycled.  Idiots.

Once again the Europeans and suckups are whining that we use a/c too much.  And we're causing globular warmering by our energy use, etc.

Listen up, people: last few days here, and the next few, it's going to be well up in the 90's with humidity at the 'take five steps and start dripping' level.  At this stage we're making sure old people either get donations if the money is tight so they can use the a/c, or getting them fans, or getting them to libraries and stores and such so they can cool off; Europe is heading to the beach and leaving the old people to die.  Borrowing from Rachel Lucas when living in Italy,
I’ve mentioned before we have no air conditioning because this is Italy and either A/C just doesn’t exist or if it does, you use it at your own financial risk to the tune of about 600 euros a month. Well in the last week or so, it’s reached that time of year that this means I AM IN HELL PLEASE KILL ME GOD. You think I’m being dramatic, you turn off your A/C next time it’s 92 degrees in your town, and also move to a country where there are no air-conditioned stores or restaurants for you to go hang out in. Oh and also you don’t have a car to drive anywhere in air conditioned bliss; you have to walk everywhere, including the grocery store. And then you gotta haul all that shit back on foot to your no-air-conditioning apartment. You could take public transportation but guess what, even if it advertises itself as “cooled”, it certainly is not, and you get to spend that ride standing squashed up against hundreds of other sweaty, cranky individuals.
Sounds great, doesn't it?

I've lived through Oklahoma summers with no a/c; even when you have fans, it sucks.  So Europe and idiots like Noack can kiss my ass.

Why Our Children Don't Think There Are Moral Facts

So the latest from the Bloomberg crew is "Military personnel aren't capable of safely handling guns in public, let alone taking out an active shooter".  Etc.
Let’s examine The Trace’s arguments, starting with the headline: “Why Military Security Experts Know That Arming All Troops Is Not The Answer.”

Leaving aside for the moment the fact that The Trace actually talks to no military security experts, we’d like to know just who is advocating arming all service members.

This false premise is a favorite of anti-gunners (see Fox News’ Juan Williams’ unbelievable screed from last week).
They lie and twist about everything, don't they?  And they don't even trust trained, sworn troops to have guns unless they've been sent somewhere outside the country(where they'll be hamstrung by idiot roe).

Even for John Effing Kerry & Co., this is insane

In other words, if nuclear inspectors get a hot tip that Iran is conducting (or conducted in the past) atomic-bomb work at a secret site, they don’t get to go to the site themselves and take samples from the soil, the walls, etc, to see if there’s uranium present. They get their samples … from Iran. That’s like drug-testing a junkie by asking him to bring a sample from home.
'Idiotic' is the kindest thing I can say about this.

And please note, further down, Sen. Corker being all upset.  After the stupid bastard helped make it easier for Obama to ram this through.

More Hope! and Change!! Courtesy of Obama, the Democrat Party,

and- after the fact- the chickenshit Republicans who had ways to stop this and didn't do it.
Hey, employers, don’t even think about reimbursing your workers’ health-insurance premiums.

Beginning this month, the IRS can levy fines amounting to $100 per worker per day or $36,500 per worker per year, with a maximum of $500,000 per firm.
Small businesses.  Big ones aren't facing the same penalty.  And the IRS, that bastion of corruption and bullshit, is right in the middle of it.

Speaking of the corrupt organization known as the IRS,
The hearing, which will take testimony from IRS commissioner John Koskinen, will zoom in on a new report from the Government Accountability Office that will deliver this bombshell: The GAO now says that IRS political “targeting is indeed possible in the audit process” for nonprofits, largely due to poor agency oversight and controls.

“Unfortunately, the IRS has not taken sufficient steps to prevent targeting Americans based on their personal beliefs,” the GAO says.

Specifically, The GAO found that “control deficiencies” do “increase the risk” that the IRS nonprofit unit “could select organizations for examinations in an unfair manner—for example, based on an organization’s religious, educational, political or other views.”

So sad. A Canadian arctic research expedition to study "climate change" (always meaning global warming) has been derailed. Why? Heavy ice.

About the most tectonically-active region in the world; still, five volcanoes at once?  Damn.

Sen. Corker says Kerry got fleeced.  I say to Corker "Hey, you!  The asshole who threw away most of the Senates' treaty power!  You miserable, chickenshit little bastard, who're you to be telling Kerry anything?"

This is looking more and more like Waco PD screwed the pooch bigtime.  And they, the prosecutors, and the local judicial people, are trying desperately to find a way to make at least some of the problems go away.  Among other things,
  • When one of the arrested bikers, Matthew Clendennen, sued authorities, Waco’s assistant city attorney fought to prevent him from getting access to video footage taken at the Twin Peaks restaurant, key evidence in the incident. While a judge ultimately ruled that his attorney must be allowed to see the footage, he barred its release to the public and imposed a gag order in the case.
  • The gag order was requested by McLennan County District Attorney Abel Reyna, who is named in Clendennen’s federal civil-rights suit––and granted by District Court Judge Matt Johnson, Reyna’s former law partner, according to press reports.

Not going to end well for the city.  And the taxpayers who'll be on the hook for the damages.

Yeah, the damage from the Planned Parenthood videos is due to 'patriarchy'.  And 'white supremacy'.

I wonder if that includes the white female PP reps in the videos?

Under the heading of "History; messy, it is", we have this:
Two new research papers claim to have found an Australo-Melanesian DNA signal in the genetic makeup of Native Americans, dating to about the time of the last glacial maximum.
There's been some interesting theorizing about some settlers of the Americas coming by boat, not between glaciers; for that matter, may well have been people coming to the eastern North American regions along the glacier edges and/or by boat from Europe.

And am I the only one finding it funny that when specifically speaking of people and their descendants who came here from other places they're very carefully referred to as 'native'?

A: The heat is on.
B: If they mean it, they could ORDER the sheriff to knock it off.  And the 'miscommunication' bullshit won't fly.
A San Francisco supervisor introduced legislation Tuesday calling on the sheriff to rescind his policy limiting cooperation with federal authorities, and top Democrats in Congress said blame for the killing lies more in miscommunication between San Francisco authorities and federal officials rather than with the sanctuary policy itself.
C: This bullshit...
He said Congress should instead pass a law legalizing illegal immigrants. He pointed to a bill that cleared the Senate in 2013, though Democratic leaders never sent it to the House as legislation that would have boosted enforcement.
Yeah, because 'legalizing' illegal-alien criminals would make it all better.  Right.

Yes, it's theft under color of law;

sometimes more blatantly so than others.
An assistant district attorney in the state of Oklahoma lived rent-free in a house confiscated by local law enforcement under the practice of asset forfeiture.
Another district attorney used $5,000 worth of confiscated funds to pay back his student loans.
Regarding use of the property or money after seizure, audits of district attorney's accounts by the State Auditor and Inspector's Office have found the assets in a number of cases were misused or not accounted for.
Yes, someone's trying to do something about it; and the usual suspects are squealing.
State Sen. Kyle Loveless, a Republican, has sponsored a bill to make these practices less common. He would prohibit asset forfeiture unless a suspect was actually convicted of a crime, and stipulate that the money go to the state’s general fund.
Law enforcement officials counter that forfeiture is necessary to combat drug trafficking and say that abuses are rare. They say Loveless is hyping the issue and using scare tactics to push his bill.
Sonsabitches want to be able to continue to steal property, including money, without even having to prove there was a crime committed, because "Doing Good Things!"  And if you have a problem with it, you're 'hyping the issue'.

Screw you; stop violating the 4th Amendment(and acting like dicks) for profit and you won't have to worry about being called on it.

Amherst College: "We already made a decision, and new evidence

isn't going to change it!  Just shut up, accept you're labeled a rapist, and go away!"
Not very likely; this is going to cost Amherst a lot.  And rightly so.

No, the Arctic ice isn't disappearing.

Colonies on the moon; yeah, it's possible.  And needs to be done.

It’s a disaster in waiting for the entire progressive movement, and I’m not enough of a partisan to take any joy in the prospect of what that might portend out in the streets even if it means a conservative victory at the ballot box.
Yes, it is; and the people who could've kept it from becoming such a mess encouraged it.  And when it blows up in their faces they'll blame Republicans/conservatives/whites/libertarians/SOMEBODY ELSE.  And probably actually believe it.  Because THEY couldn't be at fault, oh no.

"Most transparent administration" my ass; these people can't be honest about ANYTHING...
“According to the IAEA, the Iran agreement negotiators, including the Obama administration, agreed that the IAEA and Iran would forge separate arrangements to govern the inspection of the Parchin military complex – one of the most secretive military facilities in Iran – and how Iran would satisfy the IAEA’s outstanding questions regarding past weaponization work. Both arrangements will not be vetted by any organization other than Iran and the IAEA, and will not be released even to the nations that negotiated the JCPOA.  This means that the secret arrangements have not been released for public scrutiny and have not been submitted to Congress as part of its legislatively mandated review of the Iran deal.”
Lies and omissions.  Damn these bastards.

Speaking of lying, hiding bastards, ICE lies about illegal aliens.

'Gun range loophole'?

Tuesday, July 21, 2015

Of course they are; after all, they're not about freedom and personal choice

unless it's 'freedom' and 'choice' they approve of; they're about control.  And the Collective.
When Zach Silk thinks about how to articulate the values of the renovated gun movement, he uses the same words that the gun advocates use: “Community. Safety. Responsibility. Protecting my family.” In this redefining, he hopes to make a point. “Protection” isn’t an individual matter (a canard in any case, because having a gun in the house makes you exponentially less safe) in which individual patriarchs safeguard individual offspring. “Protection” is a communitarian thing, in which the safety of one’s own children depends on the safe habits of one’s neighbors.
'What?  Defend yourself from a home invader?  No no, the IMPORTANT thing is that the community be safe from YOU, and that means no guns.'

Your safety, you familys' safety, doesn't mean shit to them; only the collective matters.

Anybody with doubts of what we're facing,
If you have the right to slander the Messenger of Allah, we have the right to defend him. If it is part of your freedom of speech to defame Muhammad it is part of our religion to fight you.

Assassinations, bombings, and acts of arson are all legitimate forms of revenge against a system that relishes the sacrilege of Islam in the name of freedom.
Anwar al-AwlakiThey think freedom of speech only allows speech they agree with, and they flat love the idea of killing anyone who disagrees.  And cowards like the NYeffingTimes will help them by decreeing that exercising your freedom of speech is an incitement to these people, and insensitive, thus "Yes, you can say/write/show this, but you should not, because hurt feelings."

The real reason some of them want us disarmed:

it'll make it easier to kill us.
“Republicans and conservatives are the enemy. They are expendable. They will be targets in the Revolution when it comes” writes Roland Windsor Vincent, in a recent post on his blog, Army Of The Revolution.
Well, bless his heart.  I'd bet he's like someone I used to know who classes anyone not a socialist or leftist Democrat as 'Republican', so he plans on having a lot of targets.

So the Second Amendment has outlived its purpose.

The Second Amendment is nothing more than a myth. A fund-raising tool for the Right. An excuse for gun manufacturers to profit from the killing of people and animals. A talking point for Conservatives. And a safe harbor for criminals, psychopaths, and the delusional rednecks who pretend they are soldiers on the weekends.

It’s time to repeal the Second Amendment.
A: The Constitution, and the people who wrote it, say "Screw you.  No."
B: We say "Screw you.  No."
C: You plan on going around taking them yourself, or do you plan to delegate that to other people so as not to risk your own precious self?(Trick question, I know, he'd never even consider trying it himself, not even with a EffingBI SWAT team behind him.
D: You plan on shooting everyone who won't go along?  We'll see how well that works.

Charlie Hebdo has decided to do no more:
“We have drawn Muhammad to defend the principle that one can draw whatever they want. It is a bit strange though we are expected to exercise a freedom of expression that no one dares to,” Sourisseau told Stern, as reported by Deutsche Welle. “We’ve done our job. We have defended the right to caricature.”
Considering some of them were murdered for it, and every chickenshit progressive out there blamed THEM for 'inciting trouble', I can see why they'd decide this.

So it's up to us to take up the slack.  Let me find a couple to post again:

Speaking of terrorist assholes, President-for-Life Mugabe has decided that killing and running off the most productive farmers in the country may have been a bad idea.  However,
Bob’s idea is that tribal leaders would give him the names of white farmers they’d like to have sent back to Zim, who will then have to farm like beasts and save the country, but will not be allowed to own the land they farm on and will essentially have no security or assurance that they won’t be assaulted, evicted or even murdered in future.

Sounds like a great plan Bob, let’s see how it goes.
Sounds like he wants some skilled slaves to save his ass from the damage he's done.  Or he might be more careful in his language and call them 'indentured servants' or something.

God help them...
The Wall Street Journal has reported that Admiral Bill Gortney, head of the U.S. Northern Command, directed on Sunday that recruiting centers nationwide should implement "modest" new security measures as the Pentagon considers more concrete steps in coming weeks and months.

Though Gortney did not authorize recruiters to carry weapons, a point that has spurred debate following a a brazen daylight attack by a 24-year-old Chattanooga man on two military facilities in Chattanooga, they do direct "recruiting centers, reserve centers and ROTC facilities to increase surveillance and take basic steps such as closing blinds at the offices," according to officials interviewed by the Wall Street Journal.
I find myself wondering: is Gortney one of the assholes who pushed the 'Better you crippled or dead than we overly-upset the locals' rules of engagement that got so many of our people wounded and dead?

The UN and general leftist wet dream:

That means that the UN will not only track the buying, selling, transfer, and trading of small arms, light weapons, and ammunition, but it will continue developing technology that will help trace firearms and ammunition from the factory by way of “readable microchips” implanted at the factory. The UN will literally be able to trace every round and every weapon from factory to end user.
Such a plan was hatched during the convention on the UN’s Arms Trade Treaty held in March 2013 and attended by this reporter. During a conversation between committee meetings, the ambassador to the UN from Spain told me that there was a plan to equip ammunition with a microchip that would enable global tracking and destruction of individual rounds, if need be.
Not that long ago the 'individual rounds' thing would've been pure fiction; it's less so, now.  The ability to destroy individual cartridges, that's quite a stretch, but the Usual Suspects would be slavering at the idea.
The preamble to the ITI declaration makes particular note of the fact that the mandates of the PoA and the ITI are “not limited to those manufactured to military specifications,” making it very clear that despite what proponents of the agreement might claim, the program is not restricted to trade and transfer of military-style weapons.
Like that levergun you hunt or play Cowboy Action with.  And the revolver.
Also specifically targeted in the ITI preamble is the prevention of unapproved selling or buying of “ammunition and component parts” intended for use in small arms and light weapons.
Because being able to handload ammo means being somewhat independent of the Official Trackable Ammunition Supplier.  So handloading has to go.

...Among the dead are men who waged a bloody and hard-fought battle to retake Fallujah only to come home and die unarmed in a crappy shopping mall at the hands of a halfwit fanatic whose family had been under the leisurely money-no-object scrutiny of the bloated security apparatus for years.

A Chinese-made teddy bear from Wal-Mart is not an appropriate reaction. Righteous anger is. And there's not a lot of evidence of that. At that parking-lot memorial, the public seems to discern that such anger is no longer an approved sensibility - whereas a teary generalized sadness gets plenty of media coverage. This is the same media, by the way, that, after a couple of perfunctory questions about Chattanooga, asked Josh Earnest for more details about the "father-daughter weekend" President Obama is currently enjoying in New York. Golly, you'd almost get the impression they're really not that sad at all.
A: They're not.
B: There's a lot of anger, Mr. Steyn; just not among the asshats in Sodom on the Potomac and their friends.

I'm blank this morning

and want to get some stuff done before the heat hits.

Marja suggested some fine data more for the female researchers,

and I concur: good choice.

That would put a crimp on the competition

The competition, which is in its final day, was halted for the remainder of Sunday. Because, you know, SHARKS. No word on whether Fanning will swim back out to punch the rest of the sharks in the cape to ensure the show can go on Monday.

Over the last couple of days at their Die kalte Sonne blog Geologist Dr. Sebastian L√ľning and professor of chemistry Fritz Vahrenholt have focused their attention on sea level rise.
On Monday they wrote a piece titled: “Sea level rise lagging behind expectations: Now only ‘data massaging’ helps.
In their post the two authors present a number of charts and cite many papers. In the end they conclude that sea level rise has not accelerated at all, despite what the media and a few alarmist scientists may otherwise claim.

This is... 'idiotic' is a beginning:
...But there was one unexpected revelation during the hearing: a key Interior technology official who had access to sensitive systems for over five years had lied about his education, submitting falsified college transcripts produced by an online service.

The official, Faisal Ahmed, was assistant director of the Interior's Office of Law Enforcement and Security from 2007 to 2013, heading its Technology division. He claimed to have a bachelor's degree from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh, and a master's degree in technology management from the University of Central Florida—but he never attended either of those schools. He resigned from his position at Interior when the fraudulent claim was exposed by a representative of the University of Central Florida's alumni association, who discovered he had never attended the school after Ahmed accepted and then suddenly deleted a connection with her on LinkedIn.
But wait!  There's MORE!
Faisal did not leave government service, however—he took another government job at the Census Bureau, and is apparently still there, according to a report by the National Journal. While his name had been redacted from the official report, Rep. Cynthia Lummis of Wyoming mentioned him by name multiple times during the committee hearing.
Redacted?  Why, I wonder...
And this bastard is STILL working for the .gov.  And you have to wonder who else might be paying him?

So this counts as 'being a male feminist' with some: not being upset by your wife sleeping around, because 'fighting patriarchal oppression' and 'embracing herself'.  Along with Paulos' cock whenever she feels like it.

You're not a feminist, dumbass; you're a drone paid off in occasional mating privileges and "I'm superior because of this" attitude.

So add to the bird quisinart problem: water pollution

 in some areas:
“People wonder how wind farms can possibly contaminate our water,” she said.
“Firstly, most are constructed on areas of unspoilt moss, heather and deep peat, often with associated forestry. Construction vehicles churn up the ground to make access roads and clear the forests – approximately 3 million trees were cleared at Whitelee. Trees are pulled up, and the churned up peat is washed into the river systems by heavy rain, releasing excessive carbon which the water treatment works are not able to deal with.
“The construction teams then blast quarries and ‘borrow-pits’ to provide rock foundations for access roads and turbine bases – six quarries with 85 articulated dump lorries ferried almost 6 million tons of excavated rock around the Whitelee site for roads and turbine foundations. These excavations allow access to the numerous faults and dykes which crisscross Scotland and act as conduits for ground water. Chemical and diesel spills, therefore, have an immediate channel to the aquifer.

The defense?
Scottish Power, who run the wind farm, denied causing the pollution but admitted that they hadn’t warned residents that their water supplies may be contaminated.
Yeah.  Think on that a bit.  Probable translation: "We didn't actually dump stuff into the water, so we didn't CAUSE it."

And it'll probably get worse.
The Scottish government has committed to generating 100 percent of Scotland’s energy from renewables by 2020.
Which I doubt is even possible.  But they'll try to freeze everyone in the dark in the attempt.
