Speaking of hypocritical gun bigots,

In an incident seen by some as a bit of supreme irony, a local “gun control” proponent has been arrested on two felony charges for bringing a concealed handgun into a New York elementary school, causing “an hours long lockdown,” The Buffalo News reported Friday.

“Dwayne Ferguson ... was a well-known face in the movement for the SAFE Act, the state law that made carrying a gun on school property a felony,” the report explains. “He was among local activists who stood with Assemblywoman Crystal Peoples-Stokes last year lobbying for a law that would make possessing a gun on school property a felony.
But it's not a big deal when one of the bigots does it!  They say so:
What’s telling is the reaction of Ferguson’s apologists, offering excuses and justifications. “Associates defend man who had gun in school,” the article headline states, adding the subhead “Say he made honest mistake in incident prompting school lockdown.”
Plain old parent made that mistake, they'd want to hang them; but it's one of THEIR bigots, so it's different!

Another bit of history, from a man who escaped Castro & Co.:

Manuel Martinez, who narrowly escaped Cuba in 1962 after being imprisoned for opposing Fidel Castro, passionately defended the Second Amendment in front of Oregon’s Senate Judiciary Committee, comparing the state’s attempts to pass gun control to moves made by his former government.

“Don’t sell me this. A very powerful man tried to sell me this 50-something years ago, I didn’t buy it,” Martinez said. “This is Marxism, plain and clear.”
The legislation, Senate Bill 1551, proposes massively expanding background checks to almost every private sale, somehow expected to force criminals to voluntarily submit to a records check.

“They put this dog and pony show saying hey, we are going to protect you. No, what they did was enslave a country,” Martinez said. “They destroyed a country the same way that this country is going to be destroyed if we continue in this fashion. This is what you’re selling here!” Martinez said, holding up old communist magazines from Cuba.
Which must've seriously burned the ass of the Evil Party minions pushing this.

A bit of history

Researchers found tiny bits of DNA in the teeth of two German victims killed by the Justinian plague about 1,500 years ago. With those fragments, they reconstructed the genome of the oldest bacteria known.

They concluded the Justinian plague was caused by a strain of Yersinia pestis, the same pathogen responsible for the Black Death that struck medieval Europe. The study was published online today in the journal, Lancet Infectious Diseases.
Couple of years ago daughter told me about questions from some researchers as to whether the plague that struck in some areas was actually Bubonic or something else.  This clears that up for at least one region.

Here's a WONDERFUL use of police and prosecutor time and resources!

Can't just go to the parents and point out to the kid "Y'know, this is a really dumbass thing to do", oh no,  Authorities then confiscated her phone and charged her with one count of distribution of child pornography.
Because nothing says "We're concerned" like an arrest record and the chance of being put on a lifetime sex-offender registry for being a dumbass teenager.

The matter could become a criminal one with the potential of jail time, though experts who spoke with WAVY said that she will likely have to complete a Sexting Education program.
Hey, dumbass, she was ARRESTED AND CHARGED; it's ALREADY a criminal matter, you effing moron.

For a dumbass teenager tweeting nude pics of herself...

"Why Did It Have to be... Guns?"

A piece I'd never seen before; I like it.
People accuse me of being a single-issue writer, a single- issue thinker, and a single- issue voter, but it isn't true. What I've chosen, in a world where there's never enough time and energy, is to focus on the one political issue which most clearly and unmistakably demonstrates what any politician -- or political philosophy -- is made of, right down to the creamy liquid center.

Make no mistake: all politicians -- even those ostensibly on the side of guns and gun ownership -- hate the issue and anyone, like me, who insists on bringing it up. They hate it because it's an X-ray machine. It's a Vulcan mind-meld. It's the ultimate test to which any politician -- or political philosophy -- can be put.
...
What his attitude -- toward your ownership and use of weapons -- conveys is his real attitude about you. And if he doesn't trust you, then why in the name of John Moses Browning should you trust him?

I can't find the quote right now, I think it was Claire Wolfe, along the lines of "How a politician thinks about guns tells him what he thinks of you; whether he sees you as a adult capable of making decisions or a child who needs his guidance and orders."  Seems to cover it.

How farging stupid are the policitians and bigshots in the New York State Police?

Background checks for ammunition sales - required under New York's Safe Act - won't start anytime soon, New York State Police Superintendent Joseph D'Amico told lawmakers in Albany today.

The new gun laws, signed by Gov. Andrew Cuomo in January 2013, require background checks on ammunition sales at point of purchase. State police are still developing a system that won't disrupt sales and still comply with the law
One more reason ammo is short: everybody in New Effing York is buying all they can before this state version of the Obamacare site is up.

"We're not ready to do it," D'Amico said. "When we are, we will give ample notice."
They don't have it, they don't know WHEN they'll have it, and
For now, it's unclear whether the ammo checks will require dealers to buy extra equipment once a background check is in place. D'Amico said the intention of the law is not to cause extra costs to dealers. But he couldn't say for sure what would happen because the solution doesn't yet exist.

Speaking of control freaks and their 'experiments', from NBC on the glorious Soviet past:
The towering presence, the empire that ascended to affirm a colossal footprint. The revolution that birthed one of modern history’s pivotal experiments.
while showing this:
 (NBC)
This is the network of Chris Matthews and Al Sharpton; of COURSE they have fond thoughts of the Soviet dictatorship; after all, what's a few tens of millions murdered compared to a glorious socialist society?

MAIG wants confiscation;

Real surprise, isn't it[/sarcasm]?
I’m the mayor of one of the largest cities in the Hudson Valley, just 90 minutes north of New York City. I’m a life member of the National Rifle Association and a former member of Mayors Against Illegal Guns, or MAIG, started by New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg in 2006.
...
It did not take long to realize that MAIG’s agenda was much more than ridding felons of illegal guns; that under the guise of helping mayors facing a crime and drug epidemic, MAIG intended to promote confiscation of guns from law-abiding citizens.

Special treatment from ATF for people with badges:
DOJ spokeswoman Dana Brueck said the ATF investigated the allegations and determined one weapon had been improperly modified. The gun was reconfigured to conform with ATF regulations and no one was disciplined, she said.

"The facts in this matter convinced us (the) agent had acted in 'good faith' and inadvertently violated compliance regulations," Brueck said. "We brought the matter to the ATF's attention, and it was immediately remedied."
Chances of plain old citizen getting this kind of tolerance: zero.

"No scandal at the IRS" my ass (#I can't keep track)

From then on applications were routed through the offices of Mrs. Lerner and Obama-appointed IRS chief counsel William Wilkins, and long approval delays ensued. Extensive interviews and emails show that neither the initial Cincinnati interest, nor the subsequent Washington delay, was in any way driven by “confusion.”
That's the chief counsel that visited the White House more than a hundred times, yet Obama claims he never spoke with him.  At all.  Right.

And if you had any thoughts that the new IRS director might actually want to deal with this,
Mr. Koskinen promised in December to restore public trust in the IRS, but he didn’t do much of that on Wednesday. He toed the Administration line on the new 501(c)(4) rules, promising to address concerns only “to the extent I have any control” over the process. He refused to say if he’d comply with Mr. Camp’s request for IRS and Treasury documents pertaining to the rule-making, fretting instead about low IRS “morale” and lack of funding.
I repeat: cut their damned budget.  By a big chunk.  He wants to whine about having to obey the law and requests, start cutting until he starts cooperating.

It would seem Ray Nagin's only competence is in corruption

Several executives testified that Nagin was hitting up the firm for contracts for his family granite business at the same time the retailer was negotiating with the city on the construction of a superstore downtown.

The Home Depot executives testifying provided a change of pace in the government’s case, which on previous days had been dominated by witnesses convicted of various felonies.
Better watch that language guys; those are his people!

You expect honesty from enviroweenies? Really?
Environmentalists allege that the company hired by the State Department has ties to the oil and gas industry, therefore tainting the objectivity of the review. Some lawmakers and activists tried to get the pipeline decision delayed until the State Department investigated allegations of a conflict of interest, but the Obama administration has yet to release any findings on whether such a conflict exists.

While activists point the finger at the State Department’s contractor, emails obtained through a Freedom of Information Act request by the Energy and Environment Legal Institute show that environmentalists were working with federal officials to kill the Keystone XL pipeline.

In one email, Lena Moffitt of the Sierra Club — a major pipeline opponent — wrote to three senior policy staffers at the Environmental Protection Agency about a meeting they had where they discussed ways for the agency to inject itself into the Keystone debate.
This is also one more reason to get rid of the EPA.  Speaking of corruption,
San Francisco billionaire and environmentalist Tom Steyer has spent millions on green causes, including opposing the Keystone XL pipeline.
...
Steyer founded a hedge fund called Farallon Capital that holds hundreds of millions of dollars in companies that make oil pipelines.
...
Delaying the approval of the Keystone XL pipeline, which will bring Canadian oil sands to Gulf Coast refineries, would serve the interests of Kinder Morgan. Steyer has even admitted that his own investments with Farallon Capital could benefit from such action, but has promised to give any profits he made of such investments.
Yeah, sure he will.

Speaking of corruption and federal agencies, the new IRS commissar- ah, commissioner- was promising to fix things.
The new head of the IRS has apologized to those who suffered because of the agency’s targeting of conservative groups, after he testified before a House subcommittee for the first time.

IRS Commissioner John Koskinen told reporters after the hearing before the House Ways and Means Committee that the singling out of such organizations for special scrutiny would be “intolerable,” and vowed the IRS is not doing so now.
Yeah, we might believe that when there's independent confirmation.  Not before.
Koskinen also expressed concern over the amount of time and manpower being spent by the IRS on the investigation into the scandal, calling the probe a “major drain” on resources.
And it's all self-inflicted, so don't whine about how terrible it is.  Especially to the people being screwed by your agency.  Especially after hearing about this:
Koskinen drew criticism earlier this week when he announced he was reinstating cancelled 2013 employee bonuses.
To improve morale, y'know.

Couple of days ago found a picture of a guy who apparently tried to pet the tigers
Someone found some video of the aftermath; do NOT watch if 'graphic content' is a problem.

More reason why lots of guys are deciding against college; on top of the insane costs and general stupidity, the chance of being labeled a rapist on bullshit 'evidence'.

"But communism is GOOD! Salon say so!"

...Less than three decades after Truman fought off the CPUSA-backed challenge of "Progressive" Henry Wallace, President Jimmy Carter in 1977 expressed his pride that America had finally gotten over its "inordinate fear of communism."

At that very moment, of course, Vietnamese refugees were still fleeing that Communist regime in Hanoi, the Khmer Rouge "killing fields" nightmare in Cambodia had just passed, Soviet-backed Marxists were taking charge in Nicauragua and Angola and, two years later, those communists in Moscow sent their tanks rolling into Afghanistan.

Why you're not seen as Officer Friendly anymore, Reasons #37 and 38:

37: You're a panicky jerk with no self-control and apparently lousy training.
38: The high-ranking police officials who're supposed to see that you DO have self-control and training urged Beck to clear the officers of wrongdoing, according to several sources who requested anonymity because they were not authorized to speak publicly about the case.
Just effing disgusting.

Eight Los Angeles police officers who opened fire on two women delivering newspapers in a pickup truck during the hunt for Christopher Dorner violated the LAPD's policy on using deadly force, the department's oversight body found Tuesday.

In making its ruling, the Police Commission followed the recommendation of LAPD Chief Charlie Beck, who faulted the officers for jumping to the conclusion that Dorner was in the truck. Beck said the officers compounded their mistake by shooting in one another's direction with an unrestrained barrage of gunfire.

Reports made public Tuesday offered new details of the hours that led up to the shooting and how it erupted into a wild, one-sided firefight in which the officers fired shotguns and handguns more than 100 times. One woman was shot twice in the back; her daughter received superficial wounds
.
THERE WAS NO FIREFIGHT; there was a bunch of idiots with badges shooting in panic at the WRONG kind of vehicle with WOMEN INSIDE instead of a large male.

And the bastards- excuse me, 'high-ranking police officials' who should've been ready to tear the ass off these idiots for what they did tried to cover for them...

I have no idea why I didn't think to link to Cody Lundin's blog before,

but well worth looking over.  I still think the man's an idiot for going barefoot no matter what or where, but no question he has a HUGE knowledge of survival.

The UN is getting all hot & bothered about accusing the Vatican of not sufficiently caring about children.
Or maybe it's just that the molesting priests weren't UN personnel; THEN they'd be protected.

From the People's Democratic Republic of Californicated: A man had his guns confiscated over a misdemeanor drug conviction... in 1970. Of course, the police returned them a few weeks later, once they figured out he was allowed to have them. These are the people who are targets of gun control -- the honest citizens trying to follow the law. Not the criminals who are killing people.

There actually are some Evil Party members who have a problem with administration weenies lying to Congress.
In the video snip below, he’s questioning James Clapper about warrantless searches. Please note that the last time these two crossed paths, Wyden asked him if the NSA was spying on Americans and Clapper said, unreservedly, NO. Then Edward Snowden’s document drop hit the fan and revealed that Clapper had committed perjury. Unfortunately, the Committee isn’t pursuing that, but as you’ll see, Clapper is walking a fine line with Wyden.

Williamson puts it 'This is why honest feminists have a hard time being taken seriously'.  Pretty much.
“While it appears that this statue of a nearly naked, older white man with outstretched arms is an art installation, it does not provide our community with any of the value that art is traditionally intended to add,” wrote student Zoe Magid in the Change.org petition. The statue had “become a source of apprehension, fear, and triggering thoughts regarding sexual assault for many members of our campus community,” reads Magid’s petition.
Translation: "We are strong women, but we must be protected from even a STATUE of a male!  This campus is for WOMEN, and we're scared of this figure."

Be it noted: Williamson checked out the 'panic over 'no gun' signs' story, and the principal isn't being a jerk; she's DEALING with a lot of them.

As I recall, wasn't it a couple of California Highway Patrol thugs

who beat up a little old lady in New Orleans for daring to have a sidearm after she HANDED IT TO THEM?

These assholes with badges apparently can't stand anyone not kissing their ass.
While responding to a Tuesday night rollover accident in Chula Vista, Calif., a police officer and firefighter got into a dispute over where the fire engine should park. The verbal altercation ended with the uniformed firefighter in handcuffs.

The California Highway Patrol officer reportedly demanded the firefighter move the fire engine off the center divide. He refused and continued to treat the crash victims at the scene.

In the video, the CHP officer can be seen putting the firefighter, still in uniform, in handcuffs while others with the fire crew and officers tend to the crash victims.

"No IRS scandal" my ass

The Obama administration’s Treasury Department and former IRS official Lois Lerner conspired to draft new 501(c)(4) regulations to restrict the activity of conservative groups in a way that would not be disclosed publicly, according to the House Committee on Ways and Means.

The Treasury Department and Lerner started devising the new rules “off-plan,” meaning that their plans would not be published on the public schedule. They planned the new rules in 2012, while the IRS targeting of conservative groups was in full swing, and not after the scandal broke in order to clarify regulations as the administration has suggested.
"It doesn't matter that you didn't know about these regulations, you should have followed them anyway!  There will be massive fines, and we want your membership list!"

Lampposts, ropes, politicians: assembly required.

We can add 'bureaucrats' in there if need be, too.

"But it's for the CHILDRREEEENNNNNN!"

As it happens, this column has discussed Dr. Flood before. At an anti-gun rally in St. Louis late last March, Flood advocated a Constitutional amendment, the "Children's Rights Amendment," to "counterbalance" the Second and Fourteenth Amendments (see accompanying video):
If meaningful legislation doesn't result from all these efforts, then I ask everyone to consider a Constitutional amendment supporting the rights of children in this country. The Children's Rights Amendment, or the CRA, would allow a more solid legal foundation to so-called [sic] counterbalance the interpretation of the Second and Fourteenth Amendments, as interpreted by the U.S. Supreme Court.
As we discussed then, the impetus behind this amendment appears to have come from another St. Louis area pediatrician, Dr. Jeremy Garrett, who writes that the Second Amendment "will continue to impede the drafting of reasonable laws addressing this national crisis [violence against children]," until the U.S. Constitution is adapted according to his vision, explains that "the key to this concept" is within Section 3 of the amendment:
Section 3. The best interest of the child will take primary consideration and will supersede all existing laws and amendments that otherwise could endanger the safety and welfare of children.

Three guesses who he plans on deciding what's 'endangering the safety and welfare'.  And who'll decide what's 'in the best interest'...

Why do people have problems with a doctor asking "Do you own any guns?"  Because of clowns like this.

Oh, of course not, this will NEVER be abused,

or used to track people, or anything else.  Nooo....
The European Union is secretly developing a "remote stopping" device to be fitted to all cars that would allow the police to disable vehicles at the flick of a switch from a control room.
Oh, just to shut a car off during a chase?  Doesn't sound that bad...
But wait!  There's MORE!
Confidential documents from a committee of senior EU police officers, who hold their meetings in secret, have set out a plan entitled "remote stopping vehicles" as part of wider law enforcement surveillance and tracking measures.
That sounds more like the 'turn it off' is just an option of the REAL functions, doesn't it?

Once again, disaster follows the RWPPs and racial grievance-mongers

Company wants to open development in an empty lot.  Neighborhood cheers.  And then
The fact that most members of the Portland African-American Leadership Forum didn’t live in the neighborhood was beside the point. “This is a people’s movement for African-Americans and other communities, for self-determination,” member Avel Gordly said in a press conference. Even the NAACP piled on, railing against the project as a “case study in gentrification.” (The area is about 25 percent African-American.)

After a few months of racially tinged accusations and angry demands, Trader Joe’s decided it wasn’t worth the hassle. “We run neighborhood stores and our approach is simple,” a corporate statement said. “If a neighborhood does not want a Trader Joe's, we understand, and we won't open the store in question.”

Hours after Trader Joe’s pulled out, PAALF leaders arrived at a previously scheduled press conference trying to process what just happened. The group re-issued demands that the now-cancelled development include affordable housing, mandated jobs based on race, and a small-business slush fund. Instead, the only demand being met is two fallow acres and a lot of anger from the people who actually live nearby.
Dirtbags showed up claiming "We CARE!" and making demands.  And when the company got tired of being called racist and attempted extortion, they said 'Screw this' and dumped the plan. And the locals know exactly who's to blame.
“All of my neighbors were excited to have Trader Joe’s come here and replace a lot that has always been empty,” said Nghi Tran. “It’s good quality for poor men.” Like many residents, Tran pins the blame on PAALF. “They don’t come to the neighborhood cleanups,” he said. “They don’t live here anymore.”

“There are no winners today,” said Adam Milne, owner of an area restaurant. “Only missed tax revenue, lost jobs, less foot traffic, an empty lot and a boulevard still struggling to support its local small businesses.” The store was to be built by a local African American-owned construction company.
So once again the grievance-mongers and RWPPs screw everything up.  But get to feel very virtuous in their own minds.

Gun bigots don't want guns in schools, now they're pissed that the 'No Guns' signs have a gun on them...

"I'm a complete fan of the Affordable Care Act, but now I can't sleep at night," Nelson said. "I can't imagine this is how President Obama wanted it to happen."
Well, you've got two choices: either your Lightbringer is a friggin' incompetent surrounded by others, or he wanted it this screwed up; take your pick, Nelson.

Speaking of these dirtbags, when they think freedom is a buzzword...

Ma Nature: trying to kill you 24/7

In a whole lot of ways.
NEW DELHI - A wild tiger is believed to have claimed its eight victim in northern India, even as forest officials attempt to track down and kill the animal, an official said Wednesday.

A tiger mauled and killed a farmer while he was working in the fields on Sunday in Bijnor district of Uttar Pradesh state, senior state wildlife official Roopak Dey said.

Governor Howler is trying to buy gun owners and hunters.
A few weeks back Cuomo announced his support for legalizing crossbow hunting in the state. This is a blatant attempt to get the “sportsmen” back on his side. Nevertheless, he got a bunch of Fudds to go along with it and I am waiting for a press release to drop announcing what a great friend the Governor has been to hunters in the state because of it.

Now he wants to a meeting with gun owners. When 12,000+ gun owners showed up on his doorstep last year to protest he didn’t want to meet with any of them and made sure he was out of town that day. Two weeks ago he said in a radio interview that anyone who supports gun rights should leave the state. What has happened in the last few days to change his opinion of gunnies?

Why you're not officer friendly anymore(Reason #137):

Because you're abusive power-hungry heavy-handed lying assholes who happen to hide behind badges while endangering lives.
Justin Ross of Des Moines, Iowa told local TV station WHO 13 that police from nearby Ankeny might’ve shot him after using a battering ram to enter his mother’s home executing a warrant over alleged credit card fraud.
...
Ankeny police tell us they knocked first, but the video shows one officer pounding on the side of the house and seconds later, officers use a battering ram to force their way in.
The video also shows an officer destroying a security camera outside the home. Another officer is seen on the surveillance video (seen as part of WHO 13’s segment here) covering another camera inside the home.

...
No word on whether Des Moines police, in whose jurisdiction the incident took place, is investigating.
Yeah, what the HELL were they doing serving a warrant OUTSIDE THEIR JURISDICTION?

Sue every damned one of them.  AND the idiot in the black robe who signed the warrant.

Have a friend who is- well, 'hostile toward religion'

is the mild way to put it.  At times it spills over into hostility toward religion* and anybody who has religious beliefs.  Downright bitter at times.

When Hobby Lobby filed against Obamacare because of the demand that they provide funding for abortions and abortifacients, let's say he had a hard time understanding why anyone would have a problem with it.  "They don't have to provide it, all they've got to do is sign-off on having the insurance cover it!"  That they would not, and did not believe they should be forced by the government, to provide this because of their religious beliefs either made no sense to him or he refused to understand it.

Pointed out that 'You don't have to provide it, you just have to PAY for it' is nothing more than a politicians veil trying to hide corruption, he either refused to or could not understand it.  Finally, couple of months later he'd thought about it and agreed that forcing them to pay for abortions was understandable but not paying for RU486, well, that was just wrong!  Until I pulled up the fact that RU486 IS an abortifacient.  He still doesn't like it, but I think more understands their insistence that "We will not pay for these things."

Of course, there are still the other people out there insisting the only reason they don't want to pay for it is the money, or because they 'hate women', or 'hate Obama', or whatever bullshit reason their brains come up with.  Which brings me to what started this: this piece at Seraphic Secret.  With this at the end:
ObamaCare is the willful dismemberment of the finest health care system the world has ever known, a first step in nationalizing the  insurance industry, and  a dagger to the heart of of religion and religious people.
This paragraph leaped out at me.
It’s also a worrying precedent. As the National Jewish Commission on Law and Public Affairs urged in an amicus brief to the Supreme Court, if Hobby Lobby can be forced to provide abortifacients, then observant Jewish employers (if incorporated) could be forced to open on Saturdays, serve non-kosher food, or engage in other practices that violated the consciences of the owners.
Exactly.  And I think that, for some of the Obamacare pushers, this is one of the ends they seek.  Most 'progressives' seem to be quite hostile toward religion in general(when they're not it's a means to an end, not something they actually care about), and- like the same-sex couples who wanted the .gov to force the photographer to shoot their wedding and force the baker to make their cake, they want to be able to force the religious to dump all their beliefs if they conflict with the Vision of the Anointed.

"We need to be able to track your car(and control it, but

let's not talk about that); it's for Safety!"
Bullcrap.  It's for control.
Transportation Secretary Anthony Foxx wants the tech in all cars for the purpose of averting traffic accidents, the AP reports. The devices would allow cars to essentially talk to each other.
...
The Department of Transportation plans to propose the rule, which would essentially track the location of every new car, before the end of President Obama’s final term in office.
And the .gov would NEVER abuse that information, oh no...

So we'll need to find the antenna so we can disconnect their spy setup if this goes through.  Bastards.

When some farging bureaucrat states “the children belong to all of us.”, it's time to start heating up the tar and gather feathers.

Also note the lie that "...opponents of Common Core are against any academic standards". Because lying is what progressives do best.

Well,  Lt. J. Paul Vance, YES you're responsible to tell these companies if the rifles are compliant; it's part of you effing JOB, you bastard.  And your miserable little statist boss Malloy is
A: Trying to ban guns without calling it that, and
B: setting himself AND YOU up for one hell of a lawsuit.
And I hope you both choke on it.

More homemade sub-guns in Australia

Speaking of Australia, Owen Pitt's namesake started out as a garage project.

U.S. intelligence agencies last week urged the Obama administration to check its new healthcare network for malicious software after learning that developers linked to the Belarus government helped produce the website, raising fresh concerns that private data posted by millions of Americans will be compromised.

The left really wants to reform the reputation of communism.  No matter how many bodies have to be excused.

More 'fake scandal' on Benghazi.

Weaponized stapleguns.

One more dead addict actor.

Illinois would have to drive uphill to reach the level of being a wretched hive of scum and villainy.

The new bigotry.

Cass Sunstein is a rabid control-freak who wants the .gov to 'nudge'-

and then shove- people into doing what the .gov masters have decided is good; anything that makes him wet his pants in fear is a good thing.

Over on bookface, someone noted that the mere thought of a law saying 'CCW holders can carry in a post office' has Moms Demand Disarmament losing bladder control again.  From the comments:
Shannon Watts is incredibly arrogant. What we all need to do when replying to her tweets is remind her over and over that she's now merely another employee of Michael Bloomberg.
Really, that's probably all she's ever been.  But can't hurt to remind her at every opportunity.

Covers very nicely why I despise Clinton & Co. so much:
When somebody asks, “what difference, at this point, does it make,” whether an attack was caused by an obscure YouTube video or by deliberate malice aforethought, implicit is the guiding narrative that causes are unimportant next to how an event can be used to further a political ideology. If, whether for political purposes or simply because somebody couldn’t be arsed (what difference, at this point, does it make?), American citizens are left without sufficient protection in a hostile environment and rescue attempts are killed in the womb, it’s more important to use it for one’s own advantage than to do what is “right.”

Now that's interesting: a low-carb/high-protein diet can help your body fight off cancer.

Gov. Patrick of the PDRM and Piers Morgan are bigoted fools happy to accuse people of racism, a very unwilling to say "I was wrong" and set the record straight.

And yes, the bastards responsible for this need to be prosecuted; this kind of bullshit is horribly damaging.

Speaking of the PDRM,
Let’s just repeat that, for clarity’s sake: Massachusetts is considering denying “gun purchases to people who have been arrested, but not convicted, of a crime.” In other words, an American state is thinking about denying a constitutional right to the innocent because they happen to have been picked up by authorities that couldn’t prove that they had done anything wrong. I hope I speak for everybody here when I say, No, no, and no again.

One more oathbreaking hack in a black robe

who made certain this is going to the next level.
...This is significant because in the Supreme Court's District of Columbia v. Heller decision, the Washington D.C.'s outright ban on handguns was unconstitutional because such guns are "in common use" for lawful purposes.
...
Covello, agreeing with the plaintiffs, concluded that the weapons and magazines are commonly owned and legally used in Connecticut and elsewhere. But he parted company with the plaintiffs when he wrote that the state's ownership and sales ban is justified when the government's goal of reducing violence is measured against the ban's impingement on Second Amendment rights.

Speaking of hacks, these bastards hiding behind badges don't need 'extra training', they need firing.  And prosecution.

No wonder the gun bigots and hoplophobes don't want Loesch on The View; she won't back down or let them get away with crap.

I've heard of wearing your heart on your sleeve, but your team on your boobs?

Why keep buying weed illegally in Colorado?  "I don't want to wind up on a list."  Which, all things considered, sounds reasonable to me.  And takes something away from that 'legalize and tax it and illegal use will dry up' argument.

More of that history that lots of leftists don't want to know/think about/remember.

Michael Mann truly is full of crap.  And producing far too much CO2 himself.  And someone else has called him on it.

Of course the Laddites lie; it's what they do.

"Of course I'm on your side!  Don't pay attention to all the billionaires lined up behind me, stuffing money in my pockets."

I think stop & frisk was a 4th Amendment violation.  Doesn't change that "Well, New York, you voted for it and you're going to get it.  Good and hard and with no lube."

"Only communism can save the environment!"  Right.

...he was perhaps the last man alive to say that he supported Hitler, Stalin, and Ho Chi Minh. That’s quite the totalitarian trifecta.

Union thugs working to move into Tennessee.

Yeah, never heard about this before.  Reality hits one of the clowns on The View:
“I never wanted a gun in my house, but the sight of my son laying there going, ‘Mommy, I’m scared.’ That’s when you realize the only thing you got is a wicker trash basket between me and anybody that comes in this room and it was a scary thought,” she explained.
Welcome to 'When seconds count the police are minutes away' reality, Ms. Sheppard.

Let's see, who's been running Detroit all these years?

True.  If son was planning on college after he gets out of the Army, I'd advise him to be very damned careful what college he chooses.

Yeah, MDA wants it both ways.  A kid is dead, thanks to their meddling a father is on its way to trial for murder but they “feel” for the family. What is next? Kill the family dog and burn their house on a fit of empathy?

These are sick, sadistic women.

Is a AR15 lower still scary if it has a natural wood grain?

Like, say, made from a 2x8?

"Except when they're stealing your stuff, or molesting your kids,

or feeling-up well-built women; hey, we're human!"
“Every passenger deserves to be treated with dignity and respect and Transportation Security Administration (TSA) policy upholds this standard. TSA does not tolerate any form of unethical or unlawful behavior by its employees and takes swift disciplinary action if discovered,” he added.
Which is why the TSA agents who broke their own rules and screwed with handicapped people and those with medical devices were fir- ah, nevermind.

“In addition, TSA has implemented changes in screening for passengers 12 and under and over 75, implemented programs to accommodate Wounded Warriors, and has instituted one-step removal procedures in many cases for employees behaving unethically or unlawfully,” he concluded.
Translation: "You troublemakers got altogether too troublesome just because we terrified little kids.  And screwed with wounded troops.  And your grandparents.  So we're going to pretend we're actually changing things, so shut up."

Why no, I don't trust the bastards.

MSNBC: "We're bigoted and we're proud of it!  But we'll make an 'apology' after we crap on people, so it's all good."

The African American and African Studies department,

Black Faculty and Staff Association, Black Graduate and Professional Student Association, Black Men’s Forum, Black Student Union and Huntley House for African American Males are a bunch of effing morons.  Or RWPPs in training.  Or both.
At issue is the campus crime alerts. When a crime is committed, university authorities release a physical description of the suspect to the campus populace. Since race is an important identifying physical detail, a suspect’s ethnicity is included in the alert.

The minority groups identified this as a racist practice, according to Campus Reform.
I identify the people behind this idiocy as fucking idiots.  At best.

Winchester M*22 ammo recall

If you have any of this, check the lot numbers.
Winchester has determined the above lots of 22 Long Rifle rimfire ammunition may contain double powder charges. Ammunition with double powder charges may subject the shooter or bystanders to a risk of serious personal injury and/or death, or cause firearm damage, rendering the firearm inoperable.

"What? A woman who DEFENDS gun ownership wants to speak?

We can't allow that!"
Ah, the open-mindedness of the left.
TheBlaze TV’s Dana Loesch will be guest hosting ABC’s “The View” on Monday — that is, if the anti-gun group Moms Demand Action doesn’t get its way. Additionally, the far-left Media Matters has also come out of the woodwork to pressure on ABC on its “troubling” decision to give Loesch a national platform (which she already has at TheBlaze).
...
In addition to re-tweeting messaging calling Loesch a “pro-gun extremist,” “hate monger,” and “gun bully,” Watts also repeatedly messaged the official Twitter account of “The View” to express her disappointment in the show for giving someone a platform who she happens to disagree with.

Watts also claimed that Loesch is a paid “shill” of firearms manufacturer Magpul. The only problem with the claim is that it’s not true.
They have a very limited repertoire, don't they?  Try not to let any opposition speak, insult them, and lie about them.

Watts is also a chickenshit:
Loesch also revealed that she has invited Watts to appear on her TV show to debate their differences on guns, but she has so far refused to come on the show.
Also the standard: refuse to go to a place where they don't have a stacked deck.

I hadn't known that, during the SOTU, Rep. Stockman of Texas displayed one of the two proper responses

to Obama declaring he plans to keep violating his oath of office: he walked out.  If only a bunch more had displayed some balls and done so.

The other proper response would've been to either stand up and turn away, or call him the oathbreaker and lawbreaker he is.

Of course, if the Senate actually cared about law and standards, the censure of Schumer would already be under way:
Last week a senior United States Senator gave a speech stating that the IRS should be used to target and punish groups that disagree with the Democratic Party’s political agenda.  Sen. Chuck Schumer stated, “…there are many things that can be done administratively by the IRS and other government agencies — we must redouble those efforts immediately.”  Schumer was also one of a number of Democrat Senators who signed a 2012 letter to the IRS demanding they be more aggressive against conservative organizations.  Sure, it was a story in primarily conservative media for a couple of days but no coordinated action between Republican elected officials and the conservative grassroots against Chuck Schumer is being contemplated.
Think about that: a sitting senator CALLED FOR THE VIOLATION OF LAW AND ETHICS BY FEDERAL AGENCIES and was cheered on(by idiots who apparently can't believe this would ever be used against them now that they've set the example).  But the Democrats are either cheering him on or afraid to say anything, and most of the Stupid Party either too unwilling or too cowardly to do anything.

That 'Lamppost, rope, politician' idea sounds better all the time, doesn't it?
