Another Friday rolls around,
and some more data to keep you occupied. Maybe take your mind from fond thoughts of politicians in trees.
Law Enforcement asshats: "It's ok when WE do it."
This is a twofer:
The manager of a gun store at the Los Angeles Police Academy has been arrested for allegedly stealing firearms and selling them to several officers and an L.A. County sheriff’s deputy, according to records and sources.
...
A dozen of the weapons have not been found, while the others were relinquished to detectives by the purchasers, sources said.
...
According to sources, the police officers and sheriff’s deputy purchased the guns without legally required federal paperwork and probably at steep discounts, which could expose them to criminal charges.
'Could'. Chances of it happening? Probably damn near zero.
And second,
In a Friday night, holiday weekend document dump, we're now learning that before the Mueller investigation began, the FBI knew that at least part of the ridiculous so-called Steele dossier was based upon planted Russian disinformation.
Worse, according to Senator Ron Johnson in a Wall Street Journal op-ed released Friday night, the FBI continually lied about the provenance of the fake dossier information and only showed the FISA court and inspector general damning information about President Trump's election team. Exculpatory information was left out.
And so on.
But we're supposed to trust these bastards...

This clown really needs to be gotten rid of,
and that agency defunded of any US money.
Well, for one, the head of the World Health Organization is a prominent member of a violent revolutionary communist party.
That’s right. According to the BBC, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, the director general of the WHO, became head of the organization only after “climbing through the ranks” of the government in his native Ethiopia, a career that started with his membership in the Tigray People’s Liberation Front.

I wonder if the cops doing this don't realize how stupid it is,
or just don't care?
This is also a demonstration that, if given orders to seize firearms, a lot of cops will do it: "We got orders" is all the excuse they need.

A delayed bullet test
Matt's Bullets makes a lot of stuff, including this 240-grain hollow-base wadcutter for .45 Colt. I'd written asking about alloy, and they cast this of 20-1 lead-tin.
So I got a box, loaded some over a suitable charge of Bullseye in Hornady .455 Webley cases and gave them a try.* They shot very well. Out of the pistol used they hit at point of aim at 15 yards, cut a nice round hole, and no signs of leading.
They're not a hollow point**, but being of a fairly soft alloy if you had to use them in a self-defense situation they should give a pretty good result.
*First lube groove covered, second(front) just above the case mouth
**With a hollow nose as well they'd be like the Webley Patented Manstopper Bullet

When this crap is done, a bunch of politicians and journalists
need to be dealt with.
And getting rid of the bastards would keep them from effing up recovery from the mess they helped create.

More on "This is NOT the black plague returned,
and people need to calm the hell down."
To a trained epidemiologist, however, this case fatality rate is obviously a significant overestimation of the actual fatality rate from SARS-CoV-2, which causes COVID-19.
Lots more detail at the link.
I would add that, along with calming down, a bunch of politicians need to be stopped from wasting more oxygen.
