A fine Saturday evening

If, like me, you're avoiding the crowds and noise of the state fair, there are other entertainments you can enjoy, such as perusing the data

Well, that's joyous

The Winchester .22 ammo that shot such nice groups at 100 yards?  Went looking for more.

Seem Winchester has discontinued it.

I'll have to try some of their other subsonic stuff and see how it does.

Friday evening, the rain seems to have moved out,

and data's in.

"Dear Mr. Security Agent:"

Short version:
"No matter what your excuses are, you start carrying out the confiscation orders YOU will be the face of it.  And people will start treating you that way."

And yeah, if this starts the politicians will find themselves on the 'deal with' lists of people.  It will get extremely nasty, and they'll blame anyone but themselves for it.

When that corrupt little shit Ilhan Omar whines about 'somebody did something

and made things bad for muslims, never forget what she's trying to define away.

On that idiot 'no fly' list

The good part:
“A federal judge ruled … that a federal government database that compiles people deemed to be ‘known or suspected terrorists’ violates the rights of American citizens who are on the watchlist, calling into question the constitutionality of a major tool the F.B.I. and the Department of Homeland Security use for screening potential terrorism suspects,”The New York Times reports.

“Being on the watchlist can restrict people from traveling or entering the country, subject them to greater scrutiny at airports and by the police, and deny them government benefits and contracts.”
About damned time.

But the anti-rights people will keep pushing to use it.  Because of all the power it would give them.
And then there are the arbitrary disqualifiers. I remember years back how one guy found himself on a list for the heinous crime of taking a giant, inflatable pink pig to political rallies to protest government waste! And the pressure is on to expand the disqualifiers even beyond the animal-shaped balloon owner menace. We have the FBI and the Joint Terrorism Task Force to help further expand the dragnet by circulating flyers asking gun dealers and ranges to be on the lookout for such deadly threat giveaways as shaving beards, paying in cash, or traveling an “illogical” distance to a gun-related event. Seriously, for those of you who don't remember it, I'm not making this up. See for yourself.

Naturally, if common and benign behaviors are cause for suspicion, how much more of an indictment of guilt would actual membership in a domestic terrorist organization be? That’s what the San Francisco Board of Supervisors resolved NRA to be, and as is to be expected with all “progressive” ideas, the charge is hardly original. Remember 10 years ago, when “cartoonist” Ted Rall ranted of peaceful open carry demonstrators:
“These town hall terrorists could be declared enemy combatants and bundled off to Bagram with the stroke of a pen. If ever there were a reason for suspending civil rights, this is it.”

On this day a reminder of someone whose picture

should be in the dictionary as the #1 definition of 'badass'.
"...You see, for Rick Rescorla, this was a natural death. People like Rick, they don’t die old men. They aren’t destined for that and it isn’t right for them to do so. It just isn’t right, by God, for them to become feeble, old, and helpless sons of bitches. There are certain men born in this world, and they’re supposed to die setting an example for the rest of the weak bastards we’re surrounded with.”

Range day

Due to circumstances, no testing of any heavy boomer ammo, all lighter stuff.  Only part I'm going to go into detail on are two .22 targets.

This one was shot with a Martini Model 12 single-shot at 200 yards, using Federal Champion ammo.  It took a while to work out the elevation, and the wind was blowing fairly steady with gusts.  A little windage was dialed in for the wind, and tried to time it between the gusts.  The five circled are the last five after the adjustments
For me, with irons at that distance, I'm real happy with that.

The other was trying out some Winchester Subsonic Truncated Cone Hollowpoints at 100 yards
That's about 1.5", and a real nice group.

Now I have some things to clean up.

"Trust the professionals to protect you and your children."

That would include the school system that wouldn't do its job, the Sheriff's Office that wouldn't do it's job, deputies that hid instead of acting...

And both sets of assholes happily took part in the CNN Town Lynching to blame the NRA and Dana Loesch and Marco Rubio.  Because being a Broward County Professional means "Blame someone else when you screw up."

Yeah, trust assholes like this.  That'll work.

For every idiot who insists Trump is running concentration camps

Propagandists have always used ignorance to manipulate. Yet while CNN works to convince viewers silver mylar blankets instead of comfy quilts for migrants means there are concentration camps in America, Dachau reminds physicians here dissected human beings alive as part of medical experiments. Just as is taught in beginning writing courses, truth comes from showing not just telling. For those who think there is little significant difference between Germany 1933 and America today, there is Dachau to visit.

Another "When it happens, it'll probably happen fast"

This time a clerk in a store, who was alert enough to see the opportunity to draw, and decisive enough to act on it.

Looks like from the time the bad guy walked in with the gun in his hand until the shooting was over, ten seconds.

Thanks to Snuffy for the video
