"This is a Star Progressive Professor, how dare you ask questions about his possible plagiarism!
The proper response to an actual peace officer organization would be "Screw you, I'll ask questions whether you or he like it or not."
If you haven't heard of this, it's become quite the academic kerfluffle, and the univerisity that's been kissing his ass is really not happy. And the professor started by calling critics and questioners racists, and now says "It's because of my autism and you should leave me alone."

They knew it because our Professional Journalists and lots of academics
Borrowing from Insty,
I liked political theater, so I watched that initially rooting for Clarence Thomas to be taken down. By the very end, I believed the seeds of my future were planted right there when I realized that Ted Kennedy knew something. What did he know that he could ask Clarence Thomas these questions of a man who came from humble beginnings as an African-American? What did he know about the media? What did he know about the political process? What did he know about Hollywood? That they would side with a known Lothario with Chappaquiddick, you know, in his background. That they would allow for him and his allies in the Democratic Party to ask this man in the realm of privacy have you ever rented any pornography. Do you know who Long Dong Silver is? It was so obvious that this was a takedown that eventually I started to see things through what I called the Democrat Media Complex.

A study may have been pulled because of political pressure?
"The study generated a lot of publicity due to its implications for immune suppression and cancers arising from repeat exposure to Covid infections and vaccination. The authors’ findings have since been confirmed in other peer-reviewed scientific studies, but in the highly-politicised environment at the time, they were new and controversial.
The study was then swiftly retracted under strange circumstances, with the lead author requesting the retraction of his own paper. Stranger still, the same editor who approved the paper for publication then did a 180 and approved its retraction. Some speculated that Jiang had been pressured to request the retraction in a politically-motivated effort to bury evidence of Covid vaccine harms.
Now, one of the authors of the study alleges that this was indeed the case."
I don't have time to read the entire piece right now, but the start is real interesting, and I don't want to lose it, so there's the link.

And some news stuff
New York Gov. Kathy Hochul apologized this week after saying there are Black kids in the Bronx who don't know what the word "computer" means.
Idiot.
Oh boy, the rodeo is on.
On Tuesday, U.S. District Court Judge Aileen Cannon indefinitely postponed Trump's classified documents trial.
...
Last month, Cannon unsealed a trove of new documents in the case that also revealed that an FBI agent had testified that the General Services Administration (GSA) was in possession of Trump's boxes in Virginia before ordering Trump's team to come get them. The same boxes that the GSA had been holding and ordered Trump’s team to retrieve ended up being the boxes that contained classified markings, raising questions about whether the Biden administration had set up Trump.
From what I've read, it's very questionable- at the least- that 'Special Counsel' Jack Smith can legally hold that position; now all this starts coming out. I'm hoping for having his ass thrown out, and possibly disbarred for the crap he's been doing(I know, but I have a dream).
People who should be fired immediately for $1000, Alex
Several UNC Chapel Hill professors - actual teachers, at a real American university here - have told students they will be purposefully withholding their final grades until the school agrees to re-instates 15 students who were arrested and suspended last week during a pro-Palestine protest.
Pampered, arrogant assholes. Every damn one of them, go look in Gaza for a new position, you bastards.
This is from last year, about the rape and sex slavery gangs in Britain, and just why so many get away with doing it:
The author of one report on the activity of these rape gangs noted that there was “a great deal of evidence that there was a nervousness about race in Telford and Wellington in particular, bordering on a reluctance to investigate crimes committed by what was described as the ‘Asian’ community.” In Rotherham, “Several staff described their nervousness about identifying the ethnic origins of perpetrators for fear of being thought as racist; others remembered clear direction from their managers not to do so.”

"Those people aren't supposed to resist what we do, this is life-threatening!
When the college and city won't do anything about them but
Which brings up this idiocy
Nice for them to admit their real motivations, isn't it?
And it seems some of the university clowns involved have a history of allowing this kind of crap.
In 2021, with Shafik at the helm of the London School of Economics, the Israeli ambassador to the United Kingdom Tzipi Hotovely was swarmed by a mob of protesters after she was invited to speak at the prestigious university’s Debating Society.

Since screaming 'Racist!' and anyone for anything has lost a lot of sting,
Five participants in the TED fellows program, which supports and promotes emerging voices in a variety of fields across the globe, resigned Wednesday after the public-speaking organization invited hedge-fund manager Bill Ackman and journalist Bari Weiss to speak at its 2024 flagship conference in Vancouver. ...Titled “TED Fellows refuse to be associated with genocide apologists,” the letter accused TED of choosing “not only to align itself with enablers and supporters of genocide, but to amplify their racist propaganda.”
Etc. ad Bullshit. Striking back against a mass-murder attack that includes rape and torture is 'overreacting', going after the actual Hamas bastards is 'genocidal', and so forth. And how dare anyone be allowed to defend the Israeli's actions? That's RACIST, too!(same genetic mix for the most part, but who cares about that when you can call one side racist?)

Well, when you hire for political reasons instead of skills and abilities,
In four papers published between 1993 and 2017, including her doctoral dissertation, Gay, a political scientist, paraphrased or quoted nearly 20 authors—including two of her colleagues in Harvard University’s department of government—without proper attribution, according to a Washington Free Beacon analysis. Other examples of possible plagiarism, all from Gay’s dissertation, were publicized Sunday by the Manhattan Institute’s Christopher Rufo and Karlstack’s Chris Brunet.
The Free Beacon worked with nearly a dozen scholars to analyze 29 potential cases of plagiarism. Most of them said that Gay had violated a core principle of academic integrity as well as Harvard’s own anti-plagiarism policies, which state that "it's not enough to change a few words here and there."
And I'll bet Harvard knew about at least some of this. But she checked all the proper DEI boxes, so they made her the President of the place.
That worked out well, didn't it?

'Higher' Education and academy
...
The American Association of University Professors (AAUP) investigated Linfield University following the 2021 chain of events, and released the nineteen-page report on their findings earlier this month, stating that “[g]eneral conditions for academic freedom and shared governance at Linfield University are deplorable.” The AAUP concluded that the school’s dismissal of the formerly tenured professor violated the 1940 Statement of Principles on Academic Freedom and Tenure, Regulations 8 and 5a of the Recommended Institutional Regulations, as well as Linfield’s own regulations, of which Davis told The Chronicle of Higher Education he was unaware.
Pollack-Pelzner’s dismissal “jeopardized the faculty’s exercise of academic freedom and contributed to a culture of abuse,” according to the report.
Read it all for the full flavor, including what the NAACP has become. Which is trash.

Let us speak of stupidity,
Professor Huang Heqing of Zhejiang University, one of the most eminent schools in China, is teaching his students that all of Western history is a hoax and that everything, from the pyramids to Shakespeare to the Mona Lisa, are modern fakes meant to belittle China.
How dumb are journalists? A lot of them, very.
Throw in that a lot of Professional Educators and university bigshots... jeez, racism and stupidity, and it's getting people sued, as it should.
I suggest a law: you turn a foreign species loose, you will be fed to it. In pieces, if necessary.
Asshats who insist terrorists must have understanding and the best legal representation available are pissed that Trump had a good lawyer.
More idiot and racist academics.

She then claimed that those criticizing that statement were racist.
"You're guilty! If you say you're not, that PROVES you guilty!" Etc.

Businesses Sue Seattle for Enabling CHOP Antifa-stan's Reign of Terror
This should get real interesting.
It's costing how much per year for this indoctrination, I wonder.

More on that bastard Ferguson & Co.
As Ferguson himself admits, the code was written 13 years ago, to model an influenza pandemic. This raises multiple questions: other than Ferguson’s reputation, what did the British government have at its disposal to assess the model and its implementation? How was the model validated, and what safeguards were implemented to ensure that it was correctly applied? The recent release of an improved version of the source code does not paint a favorable picture. The code is a tangled mess of undocumented steps, with no discernible overall structure. Even experienced developers would have to make a serious effort to understand it.
I would think that 'Your model was used to wreck the economy of several countries and scare hell out of millions of people' was a pretty damned good public interest. They probably would, too, if they weren't trying to hide their screwups.
Short version: Ferguson's an idiot, his code and model are garbage,
The model, credited with forcing the Government to make a U-turn and introduce a nationwide lockdown, is a “buggy mess that looks more like a bowl of angel hair pasta than a finely tuned piece of programming”, says David Richards, co-founder of British data technology company WANdisco.
“In our commercial reality, we would fire anyone for developing code like this and any business that relied on it to produce software for sale would likely go bust."

Those asshat who think the PRC has the right idea on allowing speech?
Miguel may have the right idea: maybe not all lawyers, but most of the law professors as tree decorations.

'Higher' Education and Academics...
“At this point, I don’t think ANY civilian should own/have access to any fire arms [sic], period,” Lugg wrote on November 14. The prof has called the Second Amendment “insane,” claiming “No other country indulges in an 18th century death cult.”
And that's only part of her bullshit.
I have long argued that the US has been a crypto-fascist republic. Given the Soviet purchase of the GOP and some members of the Dems, we are sliding towards the real thing.
Yet she wants said 'crypto-fascist republic' agents to be the only ones with arms...

In their latest scam, the NYeffingTimes is quoting a liar
A Cornell University scholar cited in a recent New York Times piece tying slavery to capitalism was previously found to have inflated statistics, invented facts, and altered quotes, according to fellow academics in his field.
After all the other bullshit the Times has been involved in, anyone expects honesty from them on a 'trash the US' project like this?

It's nice when the racists show themselves
Here's a hint: when you're a professor at a university, and you screech that poor white people make you happy because
[…] when a white person begs, maybe a white woman breastfeeding or a young white boy whining like a broken flute, I feel better. Good. It’s not just us. I feel happy. I feel like the scales of justice could shift.
then you're a asshole at the least. When you blame some homeless sort for 'stealing' from you because of his skin color, you're a racist idiot.
I'm sure his students have a long life ahead of whining about their student loans because nobody wants a degree in (fill in the blank) Studies as a job qualification.
