It's been a long day, and cold, and so

This clearing is the last thing for tonight

                                                            "You're in my water, asshole!"

Oh yes, it snowed

Not a horrible amount thus far, but it'll definitely be fun getting to work, and take longer.

So, while I'm doing that,

Speaking of the weather, it says 'snow showers' today with a couple of inches possible.  Ok.
Tonight  'snow showers' with 3-7 inches possible.  Some showers, huh?
Tomorrow: 'snow showers then chance of snow showers', 2-4 inches possible.  Again, pretty heavy showers.
You ever get the feeling of the forecast being "We don't know, just guess"?

The stuff above I wrote this morning, and forgot to load before I left.  Now home:
Yes, more snow fell, but no freezing rain.  Snow can be a pain, frankly freezing rain can scare hell out of me.  It can lead to days with no power and other stuff.  Some places are getting enough of that, I hate to think about it.

As is, they're saying several more inches of snow are possible here tonight and tomorrow, and I've been informed not to come to work tomorrow.  It got busier than I expected(it's Oklahoma, people will go through a lot to get to the range or to buy something), but if it's this busy tomorrow I'll be flat amazed.  And right now I'll be quite glad to forego those hours of pay.

And yes, the shoulders are getting better.  The right's just a bit sore depending on what I do, the left is still a pain to do a number of things, but it is improving.  The back from the pulled muscle is a lot better.  I think the pressure changes as well as the cold are bothering the shoulders, but I'll get through it.*

*Barring some other graceful maneuvers, at least.

Larry Correia brought up something my daughter told me

'Anybody else find it funny that after decades of regular people getting screamed at by environmentalists about how we shouldn't drive cars, eat meat, or have air conditioning in order to SAVE THE PLANET all of a sudden those same bossy assholes are strangely supportive of some megacorporations building a bunch of AI data centers, each of which sucks up the power equivalent to a small country?
Weird how that shakes out.'  from Correia.

What daughter once told me:
Ever heard of 'Captain Planet'?  Supposed Savior of Mother Gaia, with a bunch of kids who helped him smash company owners and factories and whatever else.  Shit cartoon, it was pure indoctrination("We can't just make more efficient air conditioning, we need to get rid of it!")

I'd worked a late shift and was getting some sleep, she was watching tv and that thing came on.  She said I came stumbling out of the bedroom, with my eyes closed, changed channels, and went back to bed.

I have no memory of this, but I was glad I gave up a minutes precious sleep to turn that crap off.

No, I don't want one, but a new levergun

is always good to see.  Though I do want to know just how far they promise those 1 MOA groups.

SNW also has some information on current suppressor sales.  It's busy.

Never forget the clowns we have with the same attitudes as the Canucks

Short version: "We won't leave you troublemaking commoners any way to make things we disapprove of!  And if it screws business, that's a price we're willing to pay!"

The people running Canada are both idiots and gun bigots

'Buyback' my ass.
As it stands now, the Canadian government calls their national confiscation plan a gun buyback, but of course they don’t guarantee any Canadian dollars for anyone who participates and actually turns in their arms.

“Please note that submitting a declaration does not guarantee you will receive compensation,” one of the government’s websites actually states.

"Give us your stuff, or else, that's it!"

Canada’s Public Safety Minister Gary Anandasangaree, who has been overseeing the new gun-ban program, has a habit of not watching his mouth.

At a news conference last week, Anandasangaree warned the public that “the compensation program is voluntary, but compliance with the law is not.”

However, during a radio interview just four months ago, Anandasangaree told a friend that he “shouldn’t worry about being arrested for refusing to turn in a banned firearm because municipal police have few resources to devote to such matters.”

The minister quickly sent out a press release, which described his own comments as “misguided.”

Canadian gun owners are somewhat optimistic because their government’s gun ban plan is so complex and confusing.

One pro-gun Canadian website— TheGunBlog.ca—believes they may be in the clear, and that the gun ban may not even happen.

“After more than five years of work, all they have is a website,” the site published.

Yeah, hoping these control freaks give up on this, or will dream up any reason they can to screw you for not following  every detail of a program they can't set up, is not a plan.

Just the kind of crap the leftists would love to do here.

You may have heard that one of the Supremes, a black female Justice, thought that the Black Codes

passed in some states to keep black people from being treated like full citizens was a good justification for Hawaii having some similar laws to restrict the 2nd Amendment.  Which is freaking insane.

Going to borrow this on the subject:
...I understand a lot of people like to cite the black codes who promote gun restrictions, who would -otherwise, they would be garlic in front of a vampire in front of them. But, here, they -they like them, they embrace them. And I'm really interested in why.
I'm sure he knows why, so do I: they hate the commoners having arms without some kind of government permission slip, and they'll use anything they can think of to restrict that.

That link has some real interesting commentary, which includes people claiming "Well, THIS part of the Black Codes were not racist!"

I repeat, they'll use any argument they think they can get away with to try to get rid of as much of the 2nd as they can.

Bill and Hillary Clinton SHOULD be in big trouble;

let me know when enough Republicans find enough balls to actually do anything.

Just a couple of comments on things

No, I've had some helluva coughing spells in the past, but never managed to pull a muscle before.  And I'll be careful to try to avoid it again.

Sailor Curt is right: the best thing is to have a decent ammo supply before a bunch of people decide "I need more."

Why would anyone be surprised?  The Mayor is a communist, of course he's supporting other communists who hate the US.

Mr. Steyn has thoughts:
Twenty years ago, my eventual book-length argument was summarised in the Toronto Globe and Mail by the eminent “political scientist” William Christian as “quite possibly the most crass and vulgar book about the West’s relationship with the Islamic world I have ever encountered“. Professor Christian has evidently led a sheltered life: he was born in the Queen Charlotte Islands, which are now officially known as “Haida Gwaii”, a bollocks name invented in hopes of appeasing “the Haida nation”; it turns out that these days nowhere is really that sheltered, don’t you find?

But just because something is “crass and vulgar” doesn’t mean it’s not correct. It’s certainly straightforward. The western world is going out of business because it’s given up having babies. The mid-twentieth-century welfare state, with its hitherto unknown concepts such as spending the first third of your life in “education” and the last third in “retirement”, was carelessly premised on mid-twentieth-century fertility rates, and, as they collapsed, the west turned to “migrants” to be the children they couldn’t be bothered having themselves. The condition of your maternity ward may be “crass and vulgar”, but it’s not a speculative prediction.

Gee, why not both?

And now I've got things to do.

That's exactly what some of these bastards will do

The question is how many of these assholes- Lemon included- would still have done it if they'd known that was what some people planned?

On that 'coughs or sneezes hurting',

That particular part of my current problem was caused by something I'd heard of be never done:
I've been having some sneezing fits, and one night, on about the fourth sneeze, I turned a bit- tissue being out of reach- and pulled  a muscle in my back.

Hurt like a sonofabitch, and still has every time I sneeze, or cough.

Due to the various problems I did talk to the doc, who gave me the usual 'cold and hot' advice(thanks for the suggestion, guys, but I have had injuries before) and a prescription for a muscle relaxant.  Which makes me feel tired, but it has been helping.  The shoulder- a different cause that's also hurt like hell at times- it hasn't made any difference I can tell, but cold & hot combined with being easy on it for a few days, has helped.  Still going to have to take it easy for a while.

Taking it easy including making multiple trips to get stuff.  Which I hate doing at times.

Totally off subject, the Post Awful is useless on tracking packages.  "It was shipped today!" being followed by days of "We're waiting to receive it", followed by 'En Route' for days.  Next time I order something, I'll pay more for "We'll actually update the tracking" and "We won't take as long as the Post Awful to get your stuff to you".

Something to think about on ammo

from BRM:

In their latest e-circular, received yesterday, SG Ammo, my favorite suppliers, had this to say:

We have seen a sharp increase in consumer demand for bulk ammo orders over the past 8 days. Daily sales volume initially rose 25% to 35%, and now 35% to 45% over the past 3 days when compared to the daily averages of the first week of this month. This also represents an even larger increase from demand in December. While some of this should be expected, as the busy season for selling ammo is generally November to April with a peak in March as income tax refunds get spent, we feel that the elevated demand signals a widespread urge by the consumer to stock up on ammo. In my opinion, it would be wise to stock up now if you need ammo while depressed market pricing lingers from 2025 and before 2026 price increases from the factories begin to force widespread increases in the retail market.
Having worked part-time at a store, I watched people come in during the 'Mostly Peaceful Protest' years and the Virus Panic time who'd buy a box, shoot all or most of it, then buy another next time they came in; but now it was
"I need a box of nine/.45/.38/whatever."
"We're out."  Followed by watching the panicked look on their face.  This being especially true when, watching the riot videos, they realized they had little or nothing of actual defensive type for their boomstick.

This was followed by, when we got some, having it sell out in minutes, whether defensive or practice ammo and at whatever price(because, under that pressure,  the prices went up fast too).

Considering the insanity in a few places, it might well happen again.  So you might consider- if you don't already have some- getting some 'just in case' ammo set back.

Interesting piece on all the interest in Greenland, which includes

In a Fox News interview on Thursday, Denmark's foreign minister [finally admitted that] Trump has a point on China and Russia's threat to Greenland. Indeed, none other than the intelligence service of Denmark itself warned last year about Russian and Chinese military goals toward Greenland and Arctic.

My, it's like there's actual reason for talking about the US acquiring Greenland.

Remember a jerk named Don Lemon, used to be with CNN?

He's moved on to claiming the 1st Amendment give him and his clowns the right to, at the least, trespassing and- if they kept people from leaving and such- quite possibly kidnapping.

No, it doesn't, asshole.  And you and the others should be prosecuted.

This is more of the left playing "Whatever we do is free speech!" games to excuse what they do, including their violent acts.  And planning to kill people.  And excusing those already dead.
