Scene from the range

Sales are still at the 'week before Christmas' level, on just about everything but especially guns and ammo.

Manager put it today that "If someone is looking for a shotgun with a 18.5" barrel, they're out of luck, and not just here."

Once again, the rainbow of people showing up to buy and shoot would make Pelosi, Watts, Feinstein and Schumer break out in hives.

I'm beat.  More on this later.

A somewhat hurried collection of data

because it's late, I'm tired, and I ache(the eye is ok, just tired).

Oh yeah, crap like this really helps the public trust you...

When San Francisco police raided journalist Bryan Carmody's home last year, in a misguided (and illegal) search attempting to track down a leaker, none of the event was captured on police body camera.

This turns out to be by design. A newly released memo reveals that a lieutenant with the investigative services detail specifically told police at the scene, following a captain's orders, that officers were not to use their body cameras for the operation. The only explanation provided in the two-paragraph memo was that the "footage could compromise the investigation."
Translation: "We don't want a record of this illegal shit, so don't use the cameras you're supposed to have turned on."

It is improving

Vision is integrating better, though by the end of work yesterday my eyes were really tired(so was the rest of me, but that's another matter).  Drops to put in four times a day, etc.  And can't do some things because 'no lifting over ten pounds, don't bend over too far, stay out of dust and smoke'.  Which makes some things interesting at work.

Speaking of, Scene from the Range:
Guy rented a Sig P365.  About twenty minutes later comes out holding it in two parts.  "I was taking it down and can't get it back together."
"Do not take the rental guns apart!"
"That's why I rented it, to see how it works."
"To SHOOT, not DISASSEMBLE.  DO NOT TAKE THE RENTAL FIREARMS APART."
"Well, yes sir."  He was unhappy at being told not to take someone else's firearms apart, especially since he didn't effing know how.  That's fine, as I was seriously pissed at this idiot.  No, I did not whack him with the upper.  Or tell him exactly what he could do with his upset.

I swear...

Friday night, the rain has stopped

and there's data to review

14.5x114mm... Damn

Even with some of the mitigation features, that's got to have a real kick.

The BATFEIEIO is at it again,

this time at least one congresscritter is on them for this crap.
For instance, the 13.5-inch length of pull maximum for pistol braces that nobody knew was a thing and led to the prosecution of this guy. Congress is finally doing a deep dive and finding out exactly why we’ve been complaining about the ATF and why we’ve been contacting our representatives about them. They have apparently now seen how this alphabet agency legislates by fiat, creating secret, unpublished rules and then using them to go after law-abiding citizens.

I propose the President sign a Executive Order stating that any agency that prosecutes someone in this manner will have every person involved fired.  Including the agency head if they can be shown to have known about this.  For a start.  Because trying to put someone in jail for violating a law that nobody outside the agency knows about is disgusting.

From the sound of this, I hope Equity Prime Mortgage in Atlanta

gets their ass sued off.  This is disgusting.
“Until today, his stepmother, her name is Melissa Rolfe, was the HR director at a place called Equity Prime Mortgage in Atlanta, Georgia,” Carlson said. “But today, she was let go. She’s no longer in that role, apparently she was fired and her only crime was being officer Rolfe’s stepmother.”

“According to a source familiar with the matter who spoke to this program, Rolfe was promised that her job was safe, but today she was told, ‘We have to terminate our relationship with you,'” Carlson continued. “No other explanation was offered and honestly no other explanation was needed. It was obvious what happened.”
Yeah, it is.  Their statement about their devotion to 'diversity' pretty much covers that.

Atlanta politician panders,

and it's going to bite him in the ass.  As it should.

On the subject of bad LEOs and good, here's a case where all three of the bastards should be canned(yes, there's a lot of flowery language in the article): the one for doing this, the other two for not stopping it.  And the agency playing "But he SHOULD have immunity for this!" is not helping matters.

Things are improving,

with some weird touches.

Things in the eye with the new lens are no longer canted, and focus is improving.  But if I have glasses on(correction on the other side only) the image is a bit weird; if I have glasses off the brain is processing primarily with image from the now-good side, which is opposite what it was before.  I hope this settles in soon, it's annoying.  And a bit disorienting at times.

One of these days I'll have to have the other eye done; at least I'll know what to expect.

'Accident' my ass

Video from Brachle's lapel shows him running up to a vehicle that Grant was sitting in with suspects and yelling "gun," then promptly firing his weapon.
'Incompetence', sure; 'stupid' definitely; an 'accident' this wasn't.  And if  a commoner had done such a thing, the people calling this an accident would've wanted them in prison.

Besides Hillary Clinton, something else we dodged when she lost:

This friggin' idiot as VP.

The question is, is he actually this damned stupid, or this much a damned liar?

surgery done

with no problems.  Now everything in that eye is tilted about ten degrees off plumb until the lens/eye/brain get things sorted out.  Which, as you might imagine, is a bit disorienting.

More later, I'm going to let things rest a bit.

Opinion: true

That is why you see mobs defacing statues of abolitionists like Matthias Baldwin and Union war heroes like Adm. David Farragut and Gen. George Thomas. That is why the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier of the American Revolution in Philadelphia was vandalized this past weekend with the words “committed genocide.” That is why statues of Christopher Columbus were torn down or beheaded in three cities last week. That is why officials in Dallas recently removed a Texas Ranger statue from Love Field Airport. That is why a mob of college students toppled two statues of American pioneers on the University of Oregon campus. That is why Black Lives Matter protesters in San Antonio, Texas, are threatening to march on the Alamo.

To suppose this has anything to do with the Confederacy or the Civil War is to misunderstand completely the nature of what is happening right now in America. The people who are pulling down monuments, defacing statues, and demanding U.S. military bases be renamed do not have a limiting principle. They don’t distinguish between those who fought for freedom against the British Empire and those who fought for union against the slave states of the South. To them, the Union itself was a crime against humanity long before the South seceded. What kind of moral monster would ever fight to preserve it?"
This is why, when someone said they didn't know if Obama loved this country, I said the proper words would have been "I don't know if President Obama even likes this country."  He doesn't, his nasty little acolytes don't, and they can one and all go to hell.

Scene from the range

"We've got a jam, a bad one."

AR-15, bolt not quite closed, and very stuck.  I got it loose, picked up the round that popped out, and discovered this
Case separation.  It cracked in two a little below the shoulder, the rear was extracted and ejected, then the next round ran into the front.  Heard of this happening, first time I've seen it.

I have something to show, but

Blogger is bloggered, and won't let me post photos; so you'll just have to wait.

Note from the range: Still busy as hell.  Started out because National Election Year.  Then came the CCP virus, and all the worries about that bullshit.  Now comes the riots(not protests, the assholes rioting) which really kicked things up a notch.

If we weren't limiting ammo to one box of whatever cartridge per customer per day I don't think we'd have anything on the shelves; as is it's gotten pretty damn thin.  Some things, like birdshot, plenty; buckshot, none; 9mm and some other handgun stuff, right on the edge, same with .22.  I cannot count the number of times someone has said "I stopped at X on the way over, and their shelves were bare!"

Even worse on the election year part, the rioters and open commies are still pushing with some idiot politicians encouraging them, and the farging idiots at the CDC are now prepping the ground to say "There have been 5 too many new cases, you all need to be locked in your homes again!"  Which, when they try it, should result in dangling bureaucrats.  With the politicians who like the idea the next tree over.

A lot of people who become famous are either so hungry for attention or

so scared of losing fans that they'll crawl and beg forgiveness for- well, just about anything if it upsets someone, somewhere.

Rowling, very famous and rich, isn't one.  She's a leftist, and has signed on to various crap, but she's talked about the insanity that the 'trans' movement is,  got screamed at and threatened and insulted, and said "Screw you, I think I'm right and I'm not shutting up or going away."

Fact that she has not just "Fuck you" money, but "Fuck ALL y'all" money does make it easier for her; she may lose some book sales to lefties(many of whom won't read anything unless it Pushes The Message, so no loss there) but she'll never run short of cash.  And if it came to that she can afford very good lawyers to go after anyone who pushes too far.

The left is largely made up of ignorant, arrogant fools who have little-to-no knowledge

of history, and no care for it.  If they were better than that, they wouldn't be doing shit like this.

Really, you idiots?  Robert the Bruce?  Bomber Command from WWII?  What the hell is this supposed to accomplish, other than you feeling very good about damaging something you don't understand or know a damn thing about?

It's not the Crazy Years, it's the Effing Stupid Years.
