Borrowed from friend
Right now, it seems the Russians are going to hammer some cities with artillery and bombs, then try to take them. In heavily built-up urban areas full of people who, if they didn't hate their guts, do now.
History says combat in that kind of area eats troops, and Russia has already lost a lot of them, and lots of equipment; wonder just how many Putin & Co. are willing to lose in pushing this?
Added: the recent couple of weeks have demonstrated that a lot of people in charge of things are effing idiots, and lots of other idiots are willing to cheer them on.
There's also this
Well, we've got a bunch of "WAR BAD! NEVER GOOD!" types screaming for us to get into a shooting war with Russia, because it sounds good to them. Right now. And some "Why is it in the interest of the US to get involved in 'X'?" types who want to go along with it. Going by what I've been reading, most of them really have no idea in mind of "What is our goal in this?" other than 'Russia loses', and they may not have a real good idea of what that means, either. But they damn well want to trash the whole country to do it.
Lord, what a mess.

Why I sometimes hate doctors/their offices
"Since you have seen a cardiologist, we have to have clearance that you can have anesthesia before we can schedule your surgery, we'll contact him."
Week later, "What's the status on this?"
"We sent the request, we've heard nothing back. You could call them to see where it is."
Call cardio office, two days running: "Leave a detailed message."
Get home evening of second try, they called the wrong damned number, not the one I specifically left in both calls, to say "We haven't received anything and know nothing about it, please call us back."
Sometimes I really want to beat people with a large, spiked club.
Added: yes, I'm in a bad mood. This is after having to see an arthritis specialist, who looked at the x-rays and said "You have arthritis in multiple places, this is going to cause real problems!"
Yeah, now tell me something I didn't already know.
"How are the meds working? No difference you can tell? Well, it can take a couple of months for them to really show any effect."
I was told that last time, we're back to 'something I don't know.'
Bleep. I need a rest from all this crap.

Last couple of days I managed to get some casting done,
so have some more bullets for the .45-70 and another. Now I need some time and suitable weather to alloy more lead to 20-1. Which may take a while.
You cannot blame this on stupid, this is a deliberate act to cause harm
to the US and Israel, committed by our own Biden administration.
Russia’s top state-controlled energy company is set to cash in on a $10 billion contract to build out one of Iran’s most contested nuclear sites as part of concessions granted in the soon-to-be-announced nuclear agreement that will guarantee sanctions on both countries are lifted.
If this goes through- and remember, it's a deal being 'negotiated' for us by a Russian official who's already said that this is a great deal for Iran and China- God knows how many people will die.
And when they do, Biden & Handlers will blame every/anyone except themselves.
Yes, I know it may not meet the strict legal definition of treason, but that's the label it's under because that's what it is.

As to St. Paddy's St. Patrick's day,
last time I went to a bar/club on that day, I said "I'm not doing this again."
Go to a friend's place, sure. Restaurant(that doesn't involve a band), yep. Anyplace with lots of "Join us for St. Paddy's Day!" stuff and promising live music, HELL no. The booze is a lot cheaper at home if I wish to drink, and I can actually hear things.

I'd been looking at selling my bike,
since, due to the back and joint problems, something with a more upright seating position would be better.
Looking at the current situation, I think I'll keep it. I wouldn't take it on long trips(me trouble, not it), but it's paid for and runs great. And looking at what prices on good used as well as new bikes are likely to do...

Yeah, 'groomers' is a good term for them. The parents have a right to be damned mad.
Teachers at a school district in Wisconsin are being instructed to hide their students’ changing gender identities from parents on the grounds that “parents are not entitled to know,” and that it is “knowledge that must be earned,” according to leaked training documents.
...
One of the slides in the training session reads, “Remember, parents are not entitled to know their kids’ identities. That knowledge must be earned. Teachers are often straddling this complex situation. In ECASD, our priority is supporting the student.”
...
During training on microaggressions, Eau Claire teachers were taught about the differences between microinsults, microinvalidations, and microassaults. Examples of microaggressions that the training noted include: the concept of color blindness, or that “America is a melting pot;” the “myth of meritocracy,” or the belief that “the most qualified person should get the job;” assuming any student’s gender; and “sexist/heterosexist language,” including “being forced to choose between male and female when completing basic forms.”

Well, we know Sajid is an idiot
One follower told him: ‘John, I love ur humor man, but mockingly comparing getting reperations for things that happened 1000 years ago, to things that happened less than a generation ago is a flawed comparison. But u do u.’
Really? The only place that's had slavery 'less than a generation ago' is countries in Africa, Asia, and the Mideast; it was ended here about 157 years ago, which is a lot more than a generation. So, Sajid, do fuck off.

Oh, it's just wonderful out there
Biden is still claiming the cost of gas is all because of Putin, and printing trillions of dollars had no effect. And we have another fake hate crime.
That asshat Kaepernick has a sad. And earned every bit of it.
Amazon closed its downtown Seattle office, because crime. Other businesses, too. At least some local media won't talk about it, and the Mayor's office wants to pretend it's doing something. Still.
Hm. So calling Manchin a traitor and a bunch of other nasty things didn't make him fall into line; who could've imagined that?
"They're only covering gas prices to hurt Biden." Apparently not because it's, oh, what's that word? Oh yeah, 'news'.
Smallest Minority has a nice map that shows the changes in concealed carry laws. It's been a big change.
Lot of them do seem to believe it. And the rest, quietly, are trying to pretend they weren't part of it.
Somebody really did offer Mahar the pills, and he chose the right one. I'm going to borrow this quote:
“In America, we’re supposed to root for democratic government, not apologize for it,” Maher said. “But the NBA has a television deal with China worth a billion-and-a-half dollars. So, LeBron James said Morey needed to be ‘educated on the situation,’ the situation being, ‘I’ve got some shoes to sell.’”
“‘Kowtow’ is a Chinese word, but boy, Americans have gotten good at it,” Maher said, noting that companies gain access to Chinese markets only if they don’t upset the Chinese Communist Party. “That’s the deal China offers American companies and celebrities: We’ll give you access to our billion-plus consumers as long as you shut up about the whole police-state-genocide thing. John Cena took that deal. Well, c’mon. China accounts for 34% of global box office, and he’s a movie star now. So, like the Uyghurs, last year, he learned he needed to get some re-education. You see, John referred to Taiwan as a country, as if it was a separate country from China, which it is. But China would like to do to Taiwan what it did to Tibet and what it’s now doing to Hong Kong.”
“When a country can make your big muscly Macho Man action star grovel in their language, you know you’re somebody’s b****,” Maher said.

Well, someone managed to set the backstop on fire at work yesterday
5.56 tracer. Apparently not deliberate, it was one of a bag of ammo that he'd bought, and almost all the orange on the noses had rubbed off; it was in a magazine and wasn't spotted.
Very happily, it was spotted when it started, and put out before it became a real threat. Still stunk like hell, and worried everyone. A lot.
I can do without that happening again.

The electric car, and a lot of the costs that the greenies,
like our idiot Transportation Secretary, don't talk about.
That's assuming they know and give a damn.
One part:
The study has four major findings:
There are four additional costs to powering EVs beyond electricity: cost of a home charger, commercial charging, the EV tax and "deadhead" miles.
For now, EVs cost more to power than gasoline costs to fuel an internal combustion car that gets reasonable gas mileage.
Charging costs vary more widely than gasoline prices.
There are significant time costs to finding reliable public chargers — even then a charger could take 30 minutes to go from 20% to an 80% charge.
