And lo!, on the sixth evening there did come

a almost-forgotten(I told you I was worn out) presentation for my readers.  Who may now continue on down.

I think it's an accumulation of range on Wednesday,*

new PT stuff on Thursday, and work today combining with not enough sleep to try to put me into a coma.  Which I might welcome at this point.  But I  need to do some PT stuff, and get some things done before the rain they're expecting later.

I need either a designated 'Do this for me' or "I'm just going to take a little energy, don't worry, it won't be too much" ability.  Or something.

*For the first time this year, made it to the outdoor range.  It was wonderful, just used a lot more energy than I realized.

And another kick in the ass for the legions of the perpetually aggrieved

Expelliarmus! And faster than you can say Severus Snape, the dork magic that is wokeness has been neutralized. J.K. Rowling is being let out of her PC jail cell by the new chief of Warner Bros. Discovery.
...
But this spring a new headmaster, David Zaslav, came in to run Warner Bros., which made the Harry Potter films. Zaslav has already made two big, and hilarious moves: Canceling CNN+, and uncanceling Rowling. Zaslav is meeting with Rowling to discuss new Harry Potter projects, reports the Wall Street Journal.

The asshats of wokeness thus take another kick in the crotch.  About damned time, too.

And the actors from the Potter movies who were so willing to crap on her?  Shame on them for being such assholes to the woman whose stories made them famous and rich.

This is getting real interesting

Elias confirmed in his testimony that he hired Fusion GPS to conduct opposition research for Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign in 2016. He also testified that he would share “the fruits of their work” with senior Clinton campaign officials, and that Fusion GPS was also working for the DNC as part of its support for Hillary’s campaign.

Elias also revealed that a number of Clinton campaign officials were aware of the opposition research Fusion GPS was conducting against Trump, including campaign manager Robby Mook, campaign chairman John Podesta, policy director Jake Sullivan, and communications official Jennifer Palmieri.

Jake Sullivan is currently serving as Joe Biden’s National Security advisor.

It appears I was wrong about Durham being a standard "I couldn't find enough/anything to charge anyone with" prosecutor; he's actually been gathering stuff and had a strategy for going after the people involved.  We'll see how far it goes.

Not quite; it was a HORRIBLY bad idea.

Ha ha ha. "Let right-wing attacks derail" — that's rich. The idea was so bad, they couldn't defend it. Let derail. Ha. Like it was a train, locomoting powerfully down the track.... No,  it wasn't. It never had any traction. It went kablooey only because everyone didn't lay down and let it go by entirely unimpeded.
...

My mind isn't boggled. It's easy to understand: The idea was that bad. To end it is an un-boggling.

Experts say that right-wing disinformation and smear campaigns regularly follow the same playbook and that it’s crucial that the public and leaders of institutions, especially in the government, the media and educational bodies, understand more fully how these cycles operate.

Experts, eh? Would those be left-wing experts? Who thought it was a good idea to use the government to help "government, the media and educational bodies" "understand" how political rhetoric works? Taylor Lorenz is openly stating that the Disinformation Governance Board was supposed to go after the right wing!

From an actual liberal on the Ministry of Truth, Biden version:

Typically, any attempt to apply George Orwell’s warning novel 1984 to U.S. politics is reflexively dismissed as hyperbolic: a free and democratic country like the United States could not possibly fall prey to the dystopian repression Orwell depicts. Yet it is quite difficult to distinguish this “Disinformation Board” from Ingsoc’s Ministry of Truth.

This is all a sham: the whole industry. The very idea that Jankowicz — draping herself in #Resistance cliches, agitating for online censorship, and neurotically posting liberal Twitter hashtags — is an expert in anything, let alone one who identifies and combats disinformation, is laughable on its face. And that is true of everyone who is claiming this pompous, fictitious expertise for themselves.
...
But just as banality can be a vehicle for evil, it can also be a vehicle for repression and tyrannical control. Jankowicz, reacting with horror to Elon Musk’s vow to restore a modicum of free speech to the internet, just last week on NPR touted the virtues of censorship: “I shudder to think about if free speech absolutists were taking over more platforms, what that would look like for the marginalized communities … which are already shouldering … disproportionate amounts of this abuse,” she said.

Her just-released book, entitled “How to Be A Woman Online: Surviving Abuse and Harassment, and How to Fight Back,” is full of justifications for online censorship. Last year, she condemned me and Fox News host Tucker Carlson as “disgusting” for the crime of criticizing the fabrications of then-New York Times front-page reporter Taylor Lorenz, on the ground that powerful professional women (with the right political ideology) must not be criticized because such accountability results in harassment.

When controversy over this new Disinformation Board erupted, CNN claimed that Jankowicz was “a disinformation expert with experience working on Ukraine and Russia issues.” Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas appeared on CNN to exalt her as “eminently qualified, a renowned expert in the field of disinformation.” What does that even mean? What is the “field of disinformation,” and how does one become an “eminently qualified renowned expert” in it? Is there some graduate program or new field of discipline one must study? Is there a licensing board that certifies one as a “disinformation expert” or scholarship one demonstrates? Which credentials constitute “expertise” in disinformation?

This is all a sham: the whole industry. The very idea that Jankowicz — draping herself in #Resistance cliches, agitating for online censorship, and neurotically posting liberal Twitter hashtags — is an expert in anything, let alone one who identifies and combats disinformation, is laughable on its face. And that is true of everyone who is claiming this pompous, fictitious expertise for themselves.

And yes, there's more.

Well, after what came out about the crapshow in Michigan,

would anyone really be surprised?

According to the new filing, video evidence the defense gained access to only recently shows that some of the 80 people attacked police, other people, and members of the Oath Keepers; entered the Capitol on the west side “with apparent permission or acquiescence of government actors”; opened the Columbus Doors on the east side of the Capitol “from the inside, possibly with even further assistance of government actors”; and deployed “sophisticated crowd-behavior techniques,” orienting themselves between protesters and police.

Suspicious actors are seen on video “associating, conferring and traveling with others, engaging in behavior to confuse law enforcement through body masking, facial masking, clothing changes, and disorienting skirmishing behavior,” Geyer wrote.

The suspected people used earpieces, satellite phones, and other communication equipment. “Often it appears that these communications devices do not seem to be affected by capacity restriction or sophisticated jamming that was evident throughout the day,” Geyer wrote.

“If it can be established that these SAs [suspicious actors] were government agents, this could amount to entrapment defense that will dispose of this 7th indictment prior to trial,” the motion said.

“If it can be established that SAs, even without established government agency, from the west or elsewhere, were let into the Capitol and/or were assisted in opening the Columbus Doors from the inside—a reasonable inference from video evidence—a reasonable jury might conclude that one or more SAs had government sponsorship,” Geyer wrote.

More on the asshole in NY

The shooter states that he targeted locations where CCW was prohibited or low.

He chose a location where if people were armed they would be limited to 10 round magazines and not have access to rifles.

He stated he would be wearing level IIIA armor that could defeat the ammunition carried by the guards at Tops Market.

He thought this attack out to minimize danger to himself, and considering that he was taken alive, it worked.

You need to be prepared to fight someone who is wearing armor and knows you will only have a handgun.

I don't know about starting off low, but if someone is visibly, or is, call it puffed up more than looks right, be ready to drop the aim point.

From GFZ, yeah, sometimes (updated)

aiming low is the thing.

Added: on that subject,

The head of the Ministry of Truth is very upset

that all us commoners wouldn't quietly sit down and be censored.  For our own good.  Of course.

Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas said on NBC’s Meet the Press that the body “could have done a better job of communicating what it is and what it isn’t.”
Yeah, but if you were honest and told us "We will tell you what you're allowed to hear, and what you can say", it would've come across even worse.  You dickhead.

Tonga really was

one hell of a blast.

Another school board that needs either throwing out

or half a helicopter ride.
A mom in @ClarkCountySch reads from a graphic assignment her daughter was required to do. Her mic then gets cut off because it’s inappropriate for a public discussion.

Adults can’t handle hearing this content yet they readily give it to kids in school. How does it make sense?

When what they're actually bothered about is people finding out just what crap their kids are being fed.

So basically it's "Let's try to scare hell out of people so we can get more money

to play games with."
CNN asked Osterholm last week about a "big disconnect" between the White House, which predicted up to 100 million COVID cases this fall, and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, which is now only recommending masks to be3 worn on public transportation.

"I think this has been kind of a whiplash moment for the public on Covid-19," Osterholm replied.
...
Osterholm, the Center for Infectious Disease Research and Policy director at the University of Minnesota, said he has not seen data supporting the possibility of a 100 million case surge this fall.

"Any modeling that looks beyond 30 days out is largely based on pixie dust," he explained. "I worry that the White House has gotten way ahead of their skis on this one, but I understand the administration is trying to emphasize the need for Covid relief money."

MAYBE he'll be allowed to sue; we'll see. Next question:

How many other innocent people did these lying bastards put in prison?

Start with disbarment for the prosecutor; for the cop start with public flogging.  This shit has to be stopped.

Short version: "We're willing to buy gas from Turkey, and Iran, and some others, BUT

we will not buy it from allies.  Even when we want Europe to stop buying gas from Russia.  Screw the allies and the voters."

They consider suffering and want to be good for us.

MSNBC, always able to disappoint

Kolhatkar then condemned the draft opinion that would overturn Roe v. Wade, “You know, they spend 98 pages of their draft opinion talking about the Constitution, they talk about conception, and the right to life but there's almost nothing about what this will look like in society other than a very cursory throwaway line about how there is widespread access to childcare, contraception, and paid family leave.”
Apparently it's a unknown thing to them, but talking about the Constitution is what the Supreme Court is supposed to do...

Ah, (Formerly Great)Britain: "We can't- or won't- control the bad guys, so

none of you subjects can be allowed to own anything approaching arms."

Again, please note.  Because the previous times didn't prevent bad guys from getting weapons and doing bad things, either.
