"Oh, why would anybody have a problem with someone like the BATFEIEIO
tracking their gun everywhere?"
How many reasons you want?
And then there's this:
Besides chipping firearms, the proposal also calls for investments in traditional “smart” technology such as those that allow a gun to be fired only by its owner.
That would be the 'traditional "smart" tech' that's so bad that every LE agency around has flatly refused to even think about using it.
Said it before, it's still true: the key word in 'gun control' is CONTROL.

Yeah, about that 'zero-to-jackboots' time
Tam has commented on...
The training, which took place in the German North Rhine-Westphalia province was designed to prepare troops as part of the EU’s Lowlands Gendarmerie programme.
Breitbart London reported that the exercise was attended by 600 members of various European police and military forces, in a bid to prepare the united troops of the European Gendarmerie Force.
Hmmm... Right. Couldn't be any problem there, could there?
Although,
European affairs spokesman for the German Government Andrej Huko asked to attend, but was blocked from coming close to the site.
He claimed that the military force was preparing to shut down “political meetings” and “protests”.
He went on to argue that the, “militarisation of the police” is, “extremely worrying and contrary in Germany to the principle of separation of police and military”.
No, nothing to worry about, at all...

Socialism!
Despair and violence is taking over Venezuela. The economic crisis
sweeping the nation means people have to withstand widespread shortages
of staple products, medicine, and food.
So when the Maduro administration began rationing electricity this week, leaving entire cities in the dark for up to 4 hours every day, discontent gave way to social unrest.
And if Sanders and Hillary have their way, this is where we'll be.
Baldilocks' view on the bathroom war
Crap. There's two things I'd like to do outside this morning. But stepping outside and breathing triggers the coughing. I hate this crap.
Students at King's College in London no-platformed Boris Johnson, the mayor of London, after he criticized Obama's decision to remove a bust of former Prime Minister Winston Churchill from the White House. Johnson had been scheduled to participate in a debate on the merits of the European Union, according to The Telegraph.
Dumbasses, he's not even your idiot President, why're you so bothered Johnson doesn't kiss his ass?

This is the F-35; after all these years and God knows how many billions...
According to the USAF, the troubled fighter cannot use gas from standard green colored USAF fuel trucks if it has been sitting in the sun.
Considering that these jets will most likely find themselves operating
in the desert or in somewhere in the scorching Pacific, this is a big
problem.
The current 'fix'?
Sadly, the answer for the F-35's fuel finicky conundrum, one of many heat related issues with the jets since their testing began, is being addressed outside of the F-35 aircraft itself, in the form of repainting standard USAF fuel trucks with bright white solar reflective paint.
And the next step?
This is the short-term goal to cool the fuel for the F-35; however, the long-term fix is to have parking shades for the refuelers."
Yeah. These are going to fix the problem for a plane that's supposed to be able to work out of FOBs that don't have construction equipment and such.

Most of our 'news' is calling it a protest,
takes alternate media and-in this case- foreign media to bring it all out.
Police clashed with hundreds of protesters outside Donald Trump's rally in Southern California on Thursday night.
At least one police car was smashed up as hundreds of demonstrators – many of them waving Mexican flags – took to the streets outside the Pacific Amphitheater in Costa Mesa, Orange County where Trump was speaking.
The protesters flooded the street outside the amphitheater with some stomping on cars, hurling rocks at motorists and forcefully declaring their opposition to Trump - bringing traffic to a halt and creating a tense standoff with authorities.
One Trump supporter was pictured with a bloody face after clashing with the anti-Trump activists, many of whom appeared to be young Hispanic people.
But remember, it's Trump supporters who're all the nasty, violent ones.
And illegal aliens and non-assimilated Mexicans are no problem.
Apparently the Brit Labour Party is either actually getting sick of the Jew-haters in the party. Or- in some cases- I suspect they've just decided they don't want the bad publicity of these people being their face.
Reason I say the latter?
When Jeremy Corbyn finally suspended Naz Shah, a Labour MP, for anti-Semitic comments on Wednesday afternoon he had hoped to draw a line under the furore engulfing his party.
By 9.30 on Thursday morning, however, his friend and close ally Ken Livingstone had single-handedly reignited the row after deciding to mount an extraordinary defence of Ms Shah live on BBC Radio London.
Mr Livingstone, who sits on Labour's National Executive Committee and is co-chairman of the party's defence review, claimed that Ms Shah's suggestion that Israel should be "relocated" to the US was not anti-Semitic.
He said that she had been a "smeared" by the "Israel lobby" and even invoked Hitler to support his position.
'friend and close ally'. Livingstone and others have been big names in Labour for a long time; but now they've apparently become a real problem.
In front of several television cameras Mr Mann branded the former Mayor of London as a "Nazi apologist" and a "f****** disgrace".
He said: "You're a disgusting racist, Livingstone. A disgusting racist rewriting history. You're a disgusting racist.
Mr Livingstone replied: "Are you saying it's not true?" Mr Mann said: "Yes, you're a lying racist."
Ought to make their next elections fun.
No, the US wasn't built on slavery.

"When there are no real problems left for people to bitch about,
they make some up."
Since we are out of problems – we have food, shelter, medicine, etc. – we’ve decided not to celebrate but rather to create problems out of thin air.
Making up problems is a luxury afforded us only by our success. The poor in the United States are some of the richest people to ever live. To distract from this fact, brought to us by capitalism, our progressive friends focus on the differences between what some possess compared to others.
Well, it appears that the bad publicity and damage to morale caused by this idiocy were determined by the chief politicians-in-uniform to be bad enough that they backed off.
The same politicians-in-uniform will make sure to mark him as a troublemaker who won't kiss ass properly and ignore child rape by 'allies', and will probably see his career screwed with from now on. The assholes WILL have their petty revenge for him causing them problems.
Why are we so understanding towards the crimes of Communism?
Because so many 'progressives' wish the Soviet Union had conquered Europe, and consider all the dead to be those eggs needed for the socialist omelet. And sympathize with every communist government out there, not the victims.

Thought about the outdoor range yesterday,
but put that off for a visit to the doctor. And the x-ray tech. And then getting laundry done. No, I'm not dying, just still coughing off & on, especially if I speak more than a sentence or two, which makes it hard to communicate. Two meds and a 'Pick this up and use it if you want to, as well' later, we'll see what happens. I hope this stuff starts showing an effect soon.
At least I slept well.
And now it's raining off & on, which means- if it continues today and tonight like they're predicting- the range is going to be a marsh getting to the target lines, so that's off till next week(I hope).

Tab clearing
I'll bet a bunch of them used to attend demonstrations along the lines of 'Do not conform!'
Well, if it's true, it's just your party going back to its roots.
By the way:
“I’m dumbfounded by Democrats who don’t see the value of race and gender as part of a mix of who we are on public and private lives,” she said. “It’s sad to have Democrats using terms like ‘identity politics’–those are not our words. Those are the words of the right.”
Does she actually listen to what she says? Or does it slide right by her?
But don't worry, it won't be a problem for long: On the German and Swedish "migrant" numbers, there won't be a lot of "female revelry" in Europe's future. The formerly firebreathing feminists at The Guardian and the BBC are already falling as mute as battered wives - saying nothing, looking away, making excuses, clutching at rationalizations... Ten years ago, I wrote:

A bunch of politicians, and the people running ICE, ought to be stood against a wall and shot.
The U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency in 2015 decided not to deport but release 19,723 criminal illegal immigrants, including 208 convicted of murder, over 900 convicted of sex crimes and 12,307 of drunk driving, according to new government numbers.
So start throwing EPA brass in jail for it; ought to work wonders.
And start jailing people at State, too; 'administrative error' my ass.

The main problem with the notion of self-defense
is it imposes on justice, for everyone has the right for a fair trial. Therefore, using a firearm to defend oneself is not legal because if the attacker is killed, he or she is devoid of his or her rights.
This idiocy is from HuffPo. The response starts like this:
To say this is probably one of the stupidest things I’ve ever read would be an understatement. It is certainly an indicator of how far the left will go in it’s “reasoning” to deny you the use of a gun and your basic right to self-defense. I said “basic” but self-defense is indeed an inherent right. You need no one’s permission to exercise it because you own your life and without protecting it, you would obviously cease to exist.
The rest is just as good.

Why just about all the 'leadership' at the Veterans Administration
should be beaten with clubs. Then whipped in the town square. Then fired.
Preferably from a cannon.
After years of sedating patients with dangerous combinations of drugs, a former chief of staff whose medical license is in jeopardy, and supposed budget woes, the Department of Veterans Affairs hospital known as “Candy Land” has a plan to fix its problems: Hire a full-time interior designer.
The Tomah, Wisconsin, hospital posted a job opening for the $77,000 decorating position Tuesday. The person hired will be in charge of “accoutrements” like “window treatments.” The VA wants someone who is either a current federal employee or has a “Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree” in interior design.
Screw it, just hang the bastards.

Because self-defense is uncivilized. It's only good if someone from the .gov does it.
"The state has been defined as whatever authority possesses a monopoly on the legitimate use of violence. It is this monopoly on violence that fosters social order and permits civil society to flourish and thrive. When a mass shooter opens fire on a crowd, he is also taking aim at civil society and striking a blow for chaos and barbarism. But when citizens respond to this act of anarchism not by empowering the state to make it more difficult for the next mass shooter to carry out his murderous plans but by putting even more guns in circulation, they further degrade public authority by refusing to grant the state the authority it needs to preserve order and keep us safe.
Yeah, that state monopoly on violence always works out great, doesn't it?
If it weren't for fake hate crimes, would there be many(or any) to speak of?
I went to the doc this morning, as the cough just wouldn't go away. So now I'm full of some meds, and I'm going to sit in the sun or something before it starts raining later. Or tonight. Or something

Got that? Opening a theme park in a country where gay people can be executed is totally fine,
but hey, let’s not make a movie in Georgia!
You're lucky, dumbass; one of the standard methods of dealing with a screaming spoiled brat is to remove them from the room; they let you demonstrate just what a jackass you are.
And your screechy little friends, too.
Remember when we were told that snow in Britain would not be seen again because of globular warmening?
Temperatures will stay well below average for the time of year with nighttime lows dipping to -5C (23F) in parts.
Arctic gales will make it feel close to -10C (14F) in exposed regions threatening to topple the record low of -9.4C (15F) set in May 1941.
Marathon runners battled chilly winds and icy showers today as wintry weather dampened spirits in the capital.
Don't have the full approved views? Disagree with any of the Required Beliefs? The left will try to destroy you. Just in case you hadn't noticed in all the other cases.

It would not surprise me at all
Mexican drug traffickers help Islamic terrorists stationed in Mexico cross into the United States to explore targets for future attacks,
according to information forwarded to Judicial Watch by a high-ranking
Homeland Security official in a border state. Among the jihadists that
travel back and forth through the porous southern border is a Kuwaiti
named Shaykh Mahmood Omar Khabir, an ISIS operative who lives in the
Mexican state of Chihuahua not far from El Paso, Texas. Khabir trained
hundreds of Al Qaeda fighters in Pakistan, Afghanistan and Yemen and has
lived in Mexico for more than a year, according to information provided
by JW’s government source.
Now Khabir trains thousands of men—mostly Syrians and Yemenis—to fight in an ISIS base situated in the Mexico-U.S. border region near Ciudad Juárez, the intelligence gathered by JW’s source reveals.
Sooner or later this shit, plus the others who've already snuck in through our 'Don't worry, it's secure!' southern border, are going to strike. A lot of people are going to die. And the chickenshit politicians behind doing nothing on the border will blame everyone except themselves.
And will insist this proves we need more anti-gun-ownership laws, don't doubt it.

Why various people in the FDA and Medicare should be deprived of oxygen,
because "If everyone can get it, the demand will be too much."
In 2011, the FDA approved a medical device to repair the heart using a catheter in the leg artery called the Sapien 3. The cost of the new valve is the same as cracking the chest, but has lower risks and is an easier procedure to perform. Medicare fears that more elderly patients will want their hearts repaired with this new technology, so strict coverage rules have been set in place.
For a patient to qualify for the new procedure, Medicare requires two cardiac surgeons to certify the patient cannot handle open-heart repair. A cardiothoracic surgeon and interventional cardiologist must also be present in the operating room during the procedure. This is very costly and limits procedures to large academic medical centers. The FDA has labeled the valves to require these restrictions.
Because better you have a more risky, more invasive procedure with more after-effects than get this one. Because idiots are in charge.

Amazingly, that worked
I'd started mixing some sourdough biscuits, and was about to pat the dough out when I realized I'd forgotten the baking powder. I said words.
Figuring had nothing to lose, patted it out, scattered all the baking powder on it, then proceeded to fold, pat out, fold, the way you would do standard biscuits. I think I folded it eight or nine times, then patted out, cut biscuits, worked the remainder back together and cut more till I'd used it all.
And it worked. They rose and browned just fine. That was a relief.

In this episode of 'Child Service flunkies who should be flogged',
we have these miserable scuts from Indiana.
In 2005, Jessica Salyer, 14, died from prescription errors. A year and a half later, her parents Roman and Lynnette Finnegan, were arrested on neglect charges -- accused of beating Salyer to death.
Investigators said there were signs of blunt force trauma to Salyer's head and multiple signs of internal bleeding. However, experts testified that the internal bleeding was caused by Salyer's heart medication and that the trauma to the head was a result of an autopsy.
I'll let you reflect on that: lose a child to a bloody prescription problem, and THEN these indescribably-nasty wastes of oxygen do this to you.
But wait! There's MORE(always more with these)!!
However, DCS would not clear the allegations from the family's file. Over the span of 10 years, attorneys for the Finnegan's said DCS made their life "a living hell." Two of their children were placed in foster care for nine months. They also exhumed Jessica's body after she had been buried.
After the arrest and accusations, Roman Finnegan lost his job. The family also lost their home and possessions.
Because being with DCS means they never stop screwing with you, especially when they already screwed you over.
They've now lost a seriously big lawsuit over this incompetence and viciousness. And they're appealing, of course.
So, there's been lots of cases of people faking being cops to pull(mostly) women over. Woman sees lights behind her in a very dark, lonely area, makes signals to show she sees them, drives to well-lighted area and stops. Officer arrests her for a felony crime of resisting arrest. Yeah, that's great. Just brilliant.
The prosecutor has dropped the charges, because "Upon review of the circumstances of the incident as well as information learned after the incident, it was determined that a dismissal of the charges was in the best interests of justice," he said. Which translates to "We're catching so much crap over this, and EVERYBODY'S pissed at us, so let's make it go away." They still say the officer did the right thing(of course), but 'we'll let the peasant go on this one.'
That's really great public relations, guys.
A: Read all of this. The opening covers quite nicely just how screwed-up the FBI is:
The Justice Department and FBI have formally acknowledged that nearly every examiner in an elite FBI forensic unit gave flawed testimony in almost all trials in which they offered evidence against criminal defendants over more than a two-decade period before 2000.
Of 28 examiners with the FBI Laboratory’s microscopic hair comparison unit, 26 overstated forensic matches in ways that favored prosecutors in more than 95 percent of the 268 trials reviewed so far, according to the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers (NACDL) and the Innocence Project, which are assisting the government with the country’s largest post-conviction review of questioned forensic evidence.
B: How unreliable is this crap?
The FBI is waiting to complete all reviews to assess causes but has acknowledged that hair examiners until 2012 lacked written standards defining scientifically appropriate and erroneous ways to explain results in court. The bureau expects this year to complete similar standards for testimony and lab reports for 19 forensic disciplines.
Really? You've been using this crap for decades and there's NO WRITTEN STANDARDS?
But these bastards will insist "It's all good now, you can trust us."

They still say the officer did the right thing(of course), but 'we'll let the peasant go on this one.'

Yeah, about those wonderful windmills,
The turbines were funded by a $2.5 million grant from the U.S. Department of Labor, but the turbines lasted for less than four years and were incredibly costly to maintain.
“Since the installation in 2012, the college has spent $240,000 in parts and labor to maintain the turbines,” Kelly Allee, Director of Public Relations at Lake Land College, told The Daily Caller News Foundation.
The college estimates it would take another $100,000 in repairs to make the turbines function again after one of them was struck by lightning and likely suffered electrical damage last summer(so the damn things've been sitting idle for a year?). School officials’ original estimates found the turbine would save it $44,000 in electricity annually, far more than the $8,500 they actually generated. Under the original optimistic scenario, the turbines would have to last for 22.5 years just to recoup the costs, not accounting for inflation. If viewed as an investment, the turbines had a return of negative 99.14 percent.
“While they have been an excellent teaching tool for students, they have only generated $8,500 in power in their lifetime,” she said. “One of the reasons for the lower than expected energy power is that the turbines often need to be repaired. They are not a good teaching tool if they are not working.”
They're not paying off their own damned costs, either.
But don't worry, they're going to get another load of other peoples' money to replace them with a solar system. That won't be worth crap either.

We can celebrate Harriet Tubman without disparaging Andrew Jackson
But that would mean they can't pretend he was a totally evil, horrible nasty sort with no redeeming value! And how can they oppose him without
that? It's what the left does!
No problem with Harriet Tubman. Changing who's on the bills for the sake of 'inclusion' or- the main cause- 'Get those white men off!'- is dumb. And I'd guess a lot of the people putting out their hate on Jackson know little or nothing about him, and the little they do know is, let us say, slanted.
Ref the deportation of the tribes: Flint put it pretty well in this book(crap, the Kindle for $.99?), that it wasn't fair or nice or right, but it was probably the best that was going to happen. There were too many people in Ireland, Scotland, Britain, some of Europe, willing to come; their only chance to be something more, to build something for their family or the family they might have, to not spend their life bowing to the local lord, was to come here. And if that meant pushing some Indians out, "Well, I'm sorry about this, you people, but it's the only chance I've got. So I'm gonna move you or die trying."
And there's New Orleans; had the British won, they could've strangled trade on the Mississippi for who knows how long(yes, the battle was actually after the treaty was signed; think that'd have kept them from holding onto it as long as possible?).
Man of his times; like others, trashing him based on current sensitivities not a good idea.

'Civil Rights' Division. 'Justice' Department.
As he blessed a plea deal Wednesday
for the five former New Orleans police officers involved in the
Danziger Bridge shootings and the brazen cover-up that followed, U.S.
District Judge Kurt Engelhardt told the courtroom: “There’s plenty of
blame to go around.”
And in a stinging rebuke from the bench, Engelhardt for the first time publicly cast a portion of that blame on two high-ranking Obama administration appointees who once led the Civil Rights Division of the U.S. Department of Justice.
And they're not the only ones.
Oh, and the current positions of some of them?
One of them, current U.S. Labor Secretary Thomas Perez, is being mentioned as a potential running mate for likely Democratic Party presidential nominee Hillary Clinton.
and
...current White House adviser Roy Austin Jr....
Read it all.
But we can trust the 'Justice' Department to impartially decide on Hillary Clinton. And the IRS. And the ATF. And on, and on...

More wonders of the communist past in eastern Europe
Poland's president and government ministers attended the state burial Sunday of a World War II resistance commander and communist regime victim whose remains were found in a hidden mass grave.
The funeral at Warsaw's Powazki military cemetery was part of democratic Poland's efforts to remind the nation about facts and figures from the past that were taboo themes under decades of communism — for example, resistance against the regime and the persecution it was met with.
...
One of the victims was Col. Zygmunt Szendzielarz, codename "Lupaszka," who was executed in a Warsaw prison in 1951, aged 41. An officer of a mounted regiment, he fought against the Nazi German and Soviet invasion in September 1939 and later led an underground resistance movement.
He continued his fight for Poland's sovereignty after communism was imposed on Poland in 1945. Secret security agents arrested him in 1948 and he was given a death sentence.
But communism and socialism is actually great. Just wasn't given a real try. Wasn't done right. Etc.

Because warning people about this makes you a racist and a hater of kids
according to President HopeyChangeyPants and friends. Who don't have to deal with them.
During the recent surge of tens of thousands of young illegal immigrants crossing the Mexico-U.S. border, the Centers for Disease Control warned staff that many will be infected with tuberculosis — but the public wasn't given a head's up.
In fact, the young adults, few of whom had received the types of vaccines U.S. children received, arrived with TB, swine flu and even Dengue, according to reports that eventually filtered out of border agents and hospitals on or near the U.S. border.
...
What's more, the documents obtained in Judicial Watch's investigation of the flood of so-called unaccompanied minors, topping 70,000 a year, revealed that all aren't the little children the administration has portrayed them as. Many are young adults, and gang members.
"The CDC official reveals in the documents obtained by JW as a result of the lawsuit that 'some of these kids are not really kids they are young adults, and we should be wary of personal safety,'" said a memo.
But screw the US public, they don't count.
