Cold out there

Yeah, it's February, but I'm tired of it anyway.  Maybe some studying will take the mind off it

Flat-out indoctrination, hiding behind the label 'education'.

Mr. Inkmann then has the students sing two songs written by another West Bend teacher. “The Liberal Song” is set to the tune of “Ode to Joy.” Mr. Inkmann offers to sing first before everyone joins in. “If I were a liberal, liberal, life would be so very great,” the lyrics read, “knowing that in liberal land this other man could marry me.” The students flip through their political-spectrum packets to follow along. One kid snaps his fingers, rocking out. “The Conservative Song,” set to the tune of “Beer Barrel Polka,” includes lines like “I hate social programs, they really make me want to puke / I would rather use the money for a two-ton nuke” and “Welfare is not good, before we had it, people tried / And I hope the biggest criminals are electrified!”
'Education'.

Another front has come through

and the couple of nice days are back to mid-February cold.  Here's some data to keep your attention off it.

Dear Crimson Trace:

I used your 'contact us' form with a warranty question, and waited a week.

Just in case of a glitch, I tried again.  I also went to your Facebook page at some point and sent the question.  Waited about a week.

This morning I used the 'customer service' e-mail address.

At this point I have received nothing.  Not a "No, it's out of warranty for that", not "Yes, it is covered, we'll take care of it", not even a "Screw you, stop bothering us."

I've been real happy with the Lasergrip in question, but my opinion of your company is on a downward slope.

Sincerely, etc.

Some quick gun impressions

Springfield: don't care for the grip, and really don't like that grip safety(you can't cycle the slide unless it's depressed?  Really?)

Glock 42: 19 left out in the rain to shrink

Glock 43: 19 they put in the dryer sooner.

S&W Bodyguard: Someone wanted to make a Ruger LCP even less comfortable.

Springfield Saint: "We have a new AR!  Pretty furniture!"

Beretta Storm carbine: When you want a 9mm long gun that looks like a movie prop.

H&K VP9: they may hate you, but it does feel good in the hand.  And I like the mag release.

S&W M&P 2.0: now you've got it.

S&W Victory: you really need to tell the assembly people to put the threadlocker in the right place.

Sig 320: not bad at all.

Walther P22: still waiting for the front of the slide to fall off(like one a customer had), but it's still going.

There need to be firings, prosections,

and some hangings wouldn't be amiss.

Throw this in with all the rest, and yeah, hangings fit.  This is a bunch of high-ranking officials at the EffingBI and Dept. of 'Justice' attempting to remove a President for personal and political reasons.  Violations of law, violations of ethics.

And I'm not forgetting all the field agents who were involved in this crap.  Some may have been reluctant, but others were not.  And they all did what they were told.  Very Special Agents, indeed.

I've said it before, I'll say it again: do these idiots not realize the damage they've done to this country, or do they just not care?  Nobody with a brain is going to trust these agencies for years to come, if ever; and that 'ever' includes 'Unless these agencies get a serious cleaning out, including firings and prosecutions, why WOULD anybody trust them?'

Want further evidence of how effing crooked the Evil Party is?

And how spineless a bunch of the Stupid Party is?
“This is a bill that will expand criminal background checks to close the gun show loophole and close the Internet sale loophole,” Democrat Caucus Chairman Hakeem Jeffries said of the bill.

With the support of five committee Republicans and after nine hours of debate, the bill passed 21 to 14. Republicans on the Committee attempted to amend the bill.
There never has been a gun show loophole.
There never has been a internet sale loophole.
And these bastards know it.

Those chickenshit Stupid Party members need to be primaried.  Or just thrown out a high window.

And if the Evil Party actually cared about crime control and public safety, they would not have killed this amendment:
Democrats, however, voted down one such amendment that would notify ICE authorities when an illegal alien fails a background check to purchase a firearm.
Got that?  YOU check a wrong box or spell something incorrectly, they want you in prison; but an illegal alien trying to illegally buy a gun?  "Oh no, we don't want that reported!"

That helicopter solution is sounding better and better.

This is worse than fake news, this is flat-out lying

The Daily Beast on Wednesday falsely attributed quotes to the El Paso district attorney, even though no one from the DA's office had communicated with them, according to a spokeswoman from the office.

Response of these clowns when called on this?  Change the headline a bit and add
"This article has been updated regarding information from the District Attorney's office regarding the status on possible charges."
at the bottom.

And they wonder why people don't trust them.

City case, but it's still good

Hamilton County Judge Robert Ruehlman sided Monday with gun owners’ groups that sought to overturn a city of Cincinnati ordinance banning bump stocks, a type of gun attachment that can allow a semi-automatic firearm to be fired at nearly the rate of a fully automatic weapon.

'Universal Background Checks' equals registration

Because they desperately want lists to use.

'Seemingly open'?  They drool and have wet dreams at the idea.

Richmond, though, says he does not think Democrats in Congress are ready to move legislation to support a federal firearms registry right now.
Take careful note of that 'right now'.  Tells you what they want.  Desperately.

History is messy, and it has to be taught honestly, warts and all;

teachers who only 'teach' a version tailored to what they want people to believe are a threat.
...Smith went one step further, likening the ugly truth of history to a “mangy, snarling dog standing between you and a crowd-pleasing narrative.”

“Obviously,” Smith said, “the story should be, needs to be, that the enslaved black people and soon-to-be-exiled red people would join forces and defeat their oppressor.” But such was not the case—far from it. “The Five Civilized Tribes were deeply committed to slavery, established their own racialized black codes, immediately reestablished slavery when they arrived in Indian territory, rebuilt their nations with slave labor, crushed slave rebellions, and enthusiastically sided with the Confederacy in the Civil War.”

In other words, the truth is about as far a cry from a “crowd-pleasing narrative” as you could possibly get. “Do you want to hear that?” Smith asked the audience. “I don’t think so. Nobody does.” And yet, Smith is firm in his belief that it is a museum’s duty to embrace and elucidate ambiguity, not sweep it under the rug in the pursuit of some cleaner fiction.

Far too many people prefer the cleaner fiction to the facts.  And they don't care what damage said fiction does.

Among the reasons more people are homeschooling

are asshats like these.
Shortly after President Trump’s inauguration, a group of public school history teachers in the posh Boston suburb of Newton pledged to reject the “call for objectivity” in the classroom, bully conservative students for their beliefs, and serve as “liberal propagandist[s]” for the cause of social justice.
...
Ibokette was having none of it. He typed this reply: “I am concerned that the call for ‘objectivity’ may just inadvertently become the most effective destructive weapon against social justice,” and sent it to the members of Newton North’s history department.

Ibokette was responding to an email from another Newton North history teacher, David Bedar. Bedar was same teacher who hosted the anti-Semites at Newton North, and has played a significant role in the years-long controversy over anti-Jewish bias in the public schools of the heavily Jewish suburb.
Any takers on a bet that they think homeschoolers are racists and so forth?

Scene from the range

Found out that the S&W .380EZ on the rental rack had been taken to the gunsmith for some work(not sure what, too busy to find out).

We got the thing six or eight months ago, as I recall.  While that doesn't sound like very long, that thing has been rented a LOT.  And every time it's had one box of ammo put through it, sometimes more; it's been fired more in those months than an average user would in, oh, probably ten years(considering the usual practice rate you hear about for pistols of the sort, probably more.  A lot more.)  And this is the first problem it's had.

And most of the people who shot it really liked it, especially older ladies who have arthritis or other problems that limit how well they can work a slide.  Being bigger than most .380 pocket pistols doesn't hurt, either: more to hold on to.

No, .380 isn't an ideal self-defense cartridge, but as has been said, it beats hell out of nothing.  It in a firearm someone has no trouble handling, that's worth a lot.

I want to go shooting

at the outdoor range.  But it's chilly, and wet, and I really don't want to be out in that for a few hours(which would include wet feet from walking to & from the target stands).   So I think I'll spend some time today, once I can get myself to actually do something, loading some of the ammo I'm short of.

Weekend at the range was busy.  REAL busy most of the time.  I wonder if the clowns in DC pushing their latest 'disarm the peasants' bill have any idea how much business jumps every time they start spouting their crap?

Virginia isn't having a clown show; clowns

can keep their mouth shut.  This is a first-class shitstorm:
“We are now at the 400-year anniversary — just 90 miles from here in 1619. The first indentured servants from Africa landed on our shores in Old Point Comfort, what we call now Fort Monroe, and while—,” Northam said, before King cut him off.

“Also known as slavery,” King said.

“Yes,” Northam responded.
He called slaves 'indentured servants'.*  In an interview.  On top of all the other crap he's said.

The Democrat Governor of Virginia, folks.

Now let's add in they were hoping he'd go away and let the Democrat Lt. Gov. take over, right up until the Lt. was accused- by multiple women now- of rape.   Ok, so the Attorney General is next in line.  Except he's confessed to playing with blackface, like the Governor.  And at least one Democrat has admitted they won't push him to resign, because if those three all go the next in line to be Governor is a Republican.  Better the good Democrats with a past of blackface and sexual assault than that!

*Yes, some 'indentured servants' were no more than slaves under a different name; doesn't change how effing stupid this was.

Why so many people have come to distrust, despise, and sometimes flat out hate cops

A: These two sorry excuses for peace officers did this.

B: Wheatcroft and Chapman were charged with resisting arrest and assaulting an officer—Chapman evidently hit one of the officers in the head with a bag during the confusion—and spent months behind bars because they could not afford bail. Chapman eventually plead guilty to a lesser charge in order to get of jail and reclaim her children.

C: The Glendale police gave Schneider a mere three-day suspension: In a statement, the department neglected to mention the use of the taser on the groin, noting only that "a review of the officers' actions has been performed and discipline implemented regarding certain tactics used by one officer."
And there's no mention of any punishment for Lindsey.  For some reason.

Throw in that something like this doesn't just happen: they did this because they figured they would get away with it.  What does that tell you about Glendale PD?

And I'll bet the chief likes to bitch and whine about people not supporting these asshats.
