Yeah, why WOULD JP Morgan want to hire someone

who stands a fair chance of being charged with perjury?
Who's paying them off how to give this guy a job?

The Legal Center to Prevent Gun Violence tried to prevent anyone from hearing anything but the party line; slight problem:
Dear Mr. Berger,

In addition to the UC Hastings’ nondiscrimination policies, the College has a longstanding commitment to a culture of free and open inquiry, spirited debate, and the exploration of diverse ideas. We believe in the  fundamental right and responsibility to foster and protect rational discourse in an environment marked both by the rigorous challenge of ideas and by tolerance for the expression of multiple viewpoints.

This afternoon I informed Ms. Thomas, the Executive Director of the Law Center to Prevent Gun Violence, that you must be allowed to attend the October 25 event if it is held on the College campus.

Never forget, the CSGV still defends- well hell, just read it:
“Commenter: So the Govt rounding up citizens based on Religion or Ethnic ID would not warrant armed resistance if courts bless as constitutional.

CSGV: Correct.

http://preview.tinyurl.com/9cpboaq

Just one of the many statements made by the CSGV in support of the American Dream. They later tried to deny this statement.”

Hillary might want to have someone powerwash the undercarriage of that bus, as she might be getting a real close look at it.

Oh, yessss...

Speaking of clowns with badges like in the previous post,
Can you imagine, for a minute, what it is like for a good priest - a man who loves his G-d and his fellow man, who wants to see to the hearts and souls and very bodies (when in ill health) of his parishioners cared for and protected - when he discovers another priest is a pedophile, has been molesting children, perhaps within this good priest's parish? Can you imagine the anguish and the anger a good priest would feel, knowing that a fellow priest was abusing not just his trust and authority, but the very honor and duty of the priesthood, and damaging children in the doing?

A truly good cop - a man or woman who is a peace officer, and not just a law enforcement officer - suffers the same anguish, the pain, the embarrassment, and the anger when a fellow cop abuses his authority. It is worse when they also not only abuse a citizen's rights, but actually physically abuse them as well. The thought of an LEO beating, punching, kicking, or - G-d forbid - raping a woman, is enough to engender a supreme rage in someone who knows their duty to the citizens for whom he works. The thought of LEOs actually killing innocent citizens is enough to engender a killing rage in a good cop. Not in the rare occurrence when a mistake is made, as with the transit cop in DC who thought he had pulled his taser and actually pulled his handgun, but as in the recent case where a Houston police officer shot and killed a double amputee in a wheelchair who supposedly threatened him with a pen.
The rest is here.  I'll throw in, when you've sat in a car full of fifteen, twenty, twenty-five-year lawmen and listened to them talking about the attitude problems of so many younger cops... it tells you something.

Marx meets Obama:

Make these sorry bastard excuses for lawmen personally liable

for the damages and injuries; screw immunity when they do crap like this.
A 12-year-old girl suffered burns to one side of her body when a flash grenade went off next to her as a police SWAT team raided a West End home Tuesday morning.
"She has first- and second-degree burns down the left side of her body and on her arms," said the girl's mother, Jackie Fasching. "She's got severe pain. Every time I think about it, it brings tears to my eyes."
But don't worry, it's all ok, because
No arrests were made during the raid and no charges have been filed, although a police spokesman said afterward that some evidence was recovered during the search.

And

Investigators with the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office say they accidently served a search warrant on the wrong house, while looking for a suspected drug dealer in Burke County. WJBF News Channel 6 is the only station to talk with the victim.
...
Treat says she thought her family’s lives were in danger, she thought the officers were there to help, but she knew that wasn’t the case, when she says at, gun point, the police ordered her, her pregnant daughter, and her 3 year old granddaughter, to get on the floor.
“Two officers were standing over the top of me with guns.” says Treat.
She says the officers searched her house for almost an hour, she says cussing, and calling her a liar, before realizing they had the wrong address. The house they were looking for was two doors down.

The gentleman from Sipsey Street

could use some prayers.  Or if you're not the praying type, some good thoughts.

Oh God...

U.S. intelligence efforts in Libya have suffered a significant setback due to the abandonment and exposure of a facility in Benghazi, Libya identified by a newspaper as a "CIA base" following a congressional hearing this week, according to U.S. government sources.

Dear Rest of the World:

I second the motion.
I do not care if my speech offends you. I do not care if you find my lifestyle to go against your religious beliefs. Hell, I don’t care if your lifestyle goes against my religious beliefs (I’m pretty confident that the God I worship isn’t a fragile little flower who wilts over a crappy Internet video).

You've come a long way baby:

Ninety-nine years in the future, you're going to be holding a cordless phone and cowering behind some moussed goober with a Belgian plastic .22.
I've seen that picture before; I still laugh my ass off every time I see it.

I’d literally scared the crap out of it!!!

You know you've got to have what led up to that, don't you?
One
Two
Three

Especially on stuff coming out of the mid-East, just because someone yells "Hoax!"

doesn't mean it is.

Basic problems with getting news of things like this out:
A lot of the media does not want to report such.
A lot of the media does not want to believe such is even possible, so don't want to report on such.
Many who read of it don't want to believe it, either.
All of which makes it easy to read "It's a hoax!" and believe that, even if there's no actual proof of it being a false story.

And it is hard to wrap your mind around, that people in a major city would do such things; and that the authorities would either not dare to interfere or actually encouraged it.  Or both, depending on different departments, etc.  Nobody wants to believe that a bunch of people they've been told are just 'friends of a different religion' are quite willing- even demanding- to do these things.  Not just a few people, but massive groups in many places.

Caught Limbaughs' show one day when he was having a fit about a news story about feral cats being trapped and shot in an area; it just about drove him up the wall.  I don't know if anyone pointed it out to him, but they're not talking about his pet cat getting out into the yard for a while, they're dealing with wild cats, feral cats, and they do a lot of damage to wildlife.  Well, to stretch the metaphor a bit, we're not dealing with your muslim neighbor or friend who likes modern civilization, we're dealing with the ferals who'd be quite happy to murder you, then rape and murder your wife and children.  Or maybe keep them as slaves.  After all, there's a long history of that:
It was written in their Koran, that all nations which had not acknowledged the Prophet were sinners, whom it was the right and duty of the faithful to plunder and enslave; and that every mussulman who was slain in this warfare was sure to go to paradise. He said, also, that the man who was the first to board a vessel had one slave over and above his share... [19]
Like it or not, want to believe it or not, the threat to us is from people- in those countries and here- that truly believe in that.  And wishing or pretending it otherwise doesn't change that.

Imagine some news crew or freelance reporter did get video of such- a crucifixion, a mass murder, a working slave market- and tried to get it broadcast, with full background data; the internet is probably the ONLY way it would get out, because most of our 'professional journalist' clowns would do everything they could to prevent it.  If they did show it, it would be hedged around with 'unconfirmed' and 'CAIR says  it's a hoax from someone eaten up with islamophobia' and so forth.

One more thing: isn't it interesting that people who'd crap bricks about your 'hate speech' at daring to show such, or report on such, who'd accuse you of hating all muslims and all that crap, tend to be people who will believe just about any accusation against US troops, no matter where it comes from?

Among the Obamaphone features,

  • It automatically rejects calls from people with a different opinion.
  • Every time you take a picture, it produces a grimmer image of America.
  • It doesn’t have a plan; it just keeps telling you how bad the other guy’s plan is.
  • When it crashes, it blames your previous phone.
  • All 3 AM calls go directly to voicemail.
  • It has a really useless app called “Biden.”
  • Pairing it with another device sucks all the energy out of the other unit.
  • Type in “job search” and it gives you directions to the welfare office.
  • The navigation feature covers all 57 States.
  • And there's more!

    No, I didn't watch the debate;

don't watch most political speeches, either.

    Morning rundown:
Seems when Cefalu was fired in a parking lot, it was recorded.
I repeat, that new 'I'm going to clean things up' ATF director seems to figure that means 'I'm going to fire whistleblowers to try to shut them up and set an example.'

Another "WHAT happened before you killed this old lady?" police shooting; let's say the story might seem to have some holes in it.

Obama & Co. have a double-standard: they want to lie about Libya, and they don't want Romney to say ANYTHING; if he does, it better be what they consider 'helpful'.

The deterioration of the Obama voter
    And yeah, it's discouraging

And yes: Biden is a damned liar.  Again.
Told someone the other day that in this way Biden is just about the ideal politician: He will lie to your face, while looking you in the eye, and he will actually believe the lies while he's telling them to you.
Either that or he really can't tell the difference between the truth and what he says whenever he wants to say it.

Like Insty says, when Mediaite says you're full of crap and 'this is horrible' to a Obama official...

Stingray has a slight problem with coffee shops.
And a good idea for those people with expanded earlobes as a decoration.

Essentially what Bloomberg is doing is to use the Joyce Foundation as a cut-out to fund the radical gun prohibitionists at CSGV, VPC, and Media Matters. The clamor from these organizations makes Mayor Bloomberg's Illegal Mayors aka MAIG look much more moderate and "reasonable" by comparison.
     More on the subject here.

More on the CSGV and 'as long as the government is doing it':
So in his attempt to try and redirect the topic away from his group's endorsement of historical events, all determined to be legal at the time, like the Japanese and Native American internments, Warsaw Ghetto, Soviet Gulags, or the Boer War camps, Ladd tries to expand the topic to ALL court cases since he knows he can't morally or ethically defend that statement. IOW, as long as the courts say it's OK, the CSGV would have no problems w/ the authorities busting in your door and rounding up all those untermenschen. You know, like 'right wing insurrectionists', mormons. or anyone Ladd just doesn't care for.

Wow; life in France is about to get real interesting

From the Generation of National Identity: A Declaration of War
    "We are Generation-Identitaire"

"We are the generation who get killed for glancing at the wrong person, for refusing someone a cigarette or having an 'attitude' that annoys someone."

"We are the generation of ethnic fracture, total failure of coexistence, and forced mixing of the races."

"We are the generation doubly punished: Condemned to pay into a social system so generous with strangers that it is unsustainable for our own people."

"Our generation are the victims of the 'May '68ers' who wanted to liberate themselves from tradition, from knowledge and authority in education. But they only accomplished to liberate themselves from their own responsibilities."

"We reject your history books, to regather our memories."

"We no longer believe that 'Khader' could ever be our brother. We have stopped believing in the 'Global Village' and the 'Family of Man'."

"We discovered that we have roots, ancestry, and therefore, a future."

"Our heritage is our land, our blood, our identity. We are heirs to our own future."

"We turned off the TV to march in the streets."

"We painted our slogans on walls. Cried through loudspeakers for 'youth in power' and flew our Lambda flags high."

"The Lambda, painted on proud Spartans'shields, is our symbol."

    There's more, including video.

Instead of just closing down TSA and DHS, let's mandate that every executive

involved in crap like this be used as test dummies.  Buttons in the hands of people molested/humiliated/missed flights at the hands of the molesters.
In 2008, the Washington Times reported on how DHS official Paul S. Ruwaldt of the Science and Technology Directorate, office of Research and Development, wrote to Lamperd Less Lethal, Inc. indicating that the Department of Homeland Security was ready to purchase devices from the company that would be used to deliver incapacitating shocks to airline passengers, all of whom would be mandated to wear the taser bracelet once they checked in for their flight.
Ignoring all else,"Screw people with heart or seizure conditions, the Director says flying is a PRIVILEGE, and this is the price they pay!"

In his letter to Lamperd Less Lethal, Inc., DHS official Ruwaldt also noted how the bracelet could be used as a “method of interrogation,” in other words a torture device. He also raised the prospect of using the device against protesters to allow the temporary “restraint of large numbers of individuals in open area environments by a small number of agents or Law Enforcement Officers.”
Yeah, think of the fast-food rejects of the TSA being able to use these on people at will.  Hey, can you think of a better distraction while you're molesting a child or feeling up a woman or stealing their stuff than causing someone to collapse and twitch?  And hey, anyone dares to argue with you, bzzzzt!
Howzabout, instead, we put bracelets on the effing dirtbags at DHS/TSA, and use them whenever they overstep their bounds.  Or act like an officious dirtbag.
    We'd need really good batteries.

You want to know why so many don't trust the police anymore?  Not only did this sorry excuse for a lawman do this, three others just stood there and watched.  And kept quiet about it.  And
Here is a fun fact: It is illegal in Wisconsin for a police officer to perform a cavity search, regardless of what probable cause he may have to believe that a suspect is hiding things in his cavities. Here is another fun fact: Three of the four officers charged in the investigation have official reprimands on their records for "for failure to be civil and courteous toward the public," "unsafe vehicle operation" (twice), and "failing to honor a subpoena." They were, in other words, problem cops who should have been fired or placed on desk duty ages ago.

Here is the most fun fact: The Milwaukee Police Department knew about the illegal searches for "a couple of years," but waited to do anything about them "until authorities recognized a pattern."
With all this crap going on, the question has become "Why WOULD the public trust us?"

No. 1: Rep. Cummings("You nasty Republicans cut funding for security, it's your fault!"), you are a damned liar.
No. 2: To anybody part of the State Department in dangerous places: you'd better be prepared, because
Lamb said that the State Department was right not to grant Nordstrom’s request for more security. “We had the correct number of assets in Benghazi on the night of 9/11,” Lamb said, per The Cable, citing the Libyan security personnel.
you may well be on your own.

The vile bastards we're dealing with, they think this is a good thing to do:
A Malayali youth Jithu Mohan, who was doused with petrol and set ablaze for being in love with a girl of the Muslim community succumbed to death today. The boy was invited to the girl’s relative’s house on the pretext of peaceful discussions. But he was allegedly bathed in petrol by an Inspector named Wahab, Police Officer of AR Camp and set ablaze. Jithu succumbed to death at Amrita Hospital, Ernakulam. He is the third victim of Jihadi terrorism in Kerala in short span of time, his death following that of Vishal, Chengannur and Sachin, Kannur.

Put up billboards saying 'Vote fraud is a crime' over a whole region: "You're a racist and we want the signs taken down!"

    And last, found here,
Once you've pulled the pin, etc.

Yeah, that new director at BATFEIEIO is really doing a job

of cleaning things up, isn't he?
ATF's San Francisco hatchet men just served Special Agent Vince Cefalu with termination papers in the parking lot of a Dennys,” the post reports. “They did this over a year and half after proposing the termination. Notwithstanding the transparently trumped-up nature of the so-called ‘charges’ in question, proposing a termination and then executing it over a year and a half later is prima facie evidence that the action is unsustainable and is virtually certain to be reversed on appeal.”

Let's not forget, Eric Holder is the guy at the top in charge of THIS, too.  And Obama above him.  The reason this garbage hasn't been cleaned up is they want it to continue.

(and I thank Tam again for starting 'BATFEIEIO', it just fits so well)

    Arab asks some questions that really need asking;

I wonder if there's a price on his head yet for asking them?
The questions now are: What was the real cost of these wars to the Arab world and its people. And the harder question that no Arab national wants to ask is: What was the real cost for not recognizing Israel in 1948 and why didn’t the Arab states spend their assets on education, health care and the infrastructures instead of wars? But, the hardest question that no Arab national wants to hear is whether Israel is the real enemy of the Arab world and the Arab people.
Abdulateef Al-Mulhim, you're a brave man, both for asking these things and for thinking hard about them in the first place.

    And yeah: screw Sesame Street,

the friggin' bird brings in enough without looting us for more

And, I'm tempted to say, has done enough damage already

Have a friend who likes to say "Obama hasn't tried to take your guns, so

the NRA assholes are just scaring people into giving them money!"
    Not so much.
Obama and Biden would repeal the Tiahrt Amendment, which restricts the ability of local law enforcement to access important gun trace information, and give police officers across the nation the tools they need to solve gun crimes and fight the illegal arms trade. Obama and Biden also favor commonsense measures that respect the Second Amendment rights of gun owners, while keeping guns away from children and from criminals. They support closing the gun show loophole and making guns in this country childproof. They also support making the expired federal Assault Weapons Ban permanent.

To everyone bitching about Romney: no, he's not my choice either, but- like it or not- he's a lot less of a threat to the 2nd than this bastard.

Barring some miraculous change, Greece is so screwed

Greece's far-right Golden Dawn party is increasingly assuming the role of law enforcement officers on the streets of the bankrupt country, with mounting evidence that Athenians are being openly directed by police to seek help from the neo-Nazi group, analysts, activists and lawyers say.

In return, a growing number of Greek crime victims have come to see the party, whose symbol bears an uncanny resemblance to the swastika, as a "protector".

One victim of crime, an eloquent US-trained civil servant, told the Guardian of her family's shock at being referred to the party when her mother recently called the police following an incident involving Albanian immigrants in their downtown apartment block.

"They immediately said if it's an issue with immigrants go to Golden Dawn," said the 38-year-old, who fearing for her job and safety, spoke only on condition of anonymity. "We don't condone Golden Dawn but there is an acute social problem that has come with the breakdown of feeling of security among lower and middle class people in the urban centre," she said. "If the police and official mechanism can't deliver and there is no recourse to justice, then you have to turn to other maverick solutions."
So the local .gov cannot or will not do their job of law enforcement, so the cops are sending people to a private group... how many ways can you think of that this can/will end badly?

If you haven't found a reason to loathe Obama yet,

Departing from his prepared remarks, he mentioned the Stafford Act, which requires communities receiving federal disaster relief to contribute 10 percent as much as the federal government does.

Senator Obama, as he was then, pointed out that this requirement was waived in the case of New York and Florida because the people there were considered to be "part of the American family." But the people in New Orleans -- predominantly black -- "they don't care about as much," according to Barack Obama.

If you want to know what community organizers do, this is it -- rub people's emotions raw to hype their resentments. And this was Barack Obama in his old community organizer role, a role that should have warned those who thought that he was someone who would bring us together, when he was all too well practiced in the arts of polarizing us apart.

Why is the date of this speech important? Because, less than two weeks earlier, on May 24, 2007, the United States Senate had in fact voted 80-14 to waive the Stafford Act requirement for New Orleans, as it had waived that requirement for New York and Florida. More federal money was spent rebuilding New Orleans than was spent in New York after 9/11 and in Florida after hurricane Andrew, combined.
But Obama wanted to call people racist, and uncaring about the poor, so he lied.

And, to make this crap even better,
Unlike Jeremiah Wright's church, the U.S. Senate keeps a record of who was there on a given day. The Congressional Record for May 24, 2007 shows Senator Barack Obama present that day and voting on the bill that waived the Stafford Act requirement. Moreover, he was one of just 14 Senators who voted against -- repeat, AGAINST -- the legislation which included the waiver.
    Miserable, corrupt, lying little bastard.

Hit the range this morning and tried out the Colt

with the new sight; very good.  At ten feet that front combined with the Kahr rear was dead-on, and very nicely punched one big ragged hole with eight rounds.

Looking at that new rear, I'd thought it was just about the right height to work well with that shotgun front; I love it when I'm right about something.

I ought to e-mail Mepro and say "Guess what I did with one of your sights?"

    Tuesday, October 09, 2012

So Obama either actually thought he won,

or thought he had to pretend so; either way, damn.
Something that stands out to me:
'He went into the debate armed with a number of one-liners to throw at Romney, including at least two about Romney not caring about 47 per cent of the country. But he decided not to use them.'
A: I wonder if he decided not to use them because he realized it'd sound silly?  And Romney'd beat him over the head with them in response?
B: They actually prepped him with one-liners?  For this? What the hell were they thinking?
And if that's how they're thinking, combine that with Biden being the lying nutcase he is, the debate with Ryan ought to be painful to watch.

And if someone starts bragging about "Obama killed bin Laden!" again, kick them in the ass with this:
President Obama’s team “put a target” on the backs of the Navy SEALs who killed Osama bin Laden, says Karen Vaughn in a video that suggests her son died three months later as a result of White House national security leaks.
    ...
The video, released by the conservative Veterans for a Strong America, shows Vice President Joe Biden talking about the raid during a public event and Defense Secretary Robert Gates complaining that an agreement to keep the raid details secret “fell apart” as the result of such comments.
“Aaron called me,” Mrs. Vaughn says, referring to her son, Special Operations Chief Aaron Vaughn, who was killed on August 6, 2011. “He said, ‘Mom, you need to wipe your social media clean. Get rid of everything, any reference to me or my buddies, because there is chatter and all of our lives are possibly in danger, including yours.’”
Remember that post the other day, fucking Biden didn't want the mission to happen solely because if it went bad it'd endanger reelection(screw what it would mean to the troops)?  Remember fucking Biden spilling information in the days after the raid?  And fucking Obama, too?
    Bastards.

From Captain's Journal, what PC stupidity is doing to the forces.

And, one way or another Ma Nature will get you.

    The Guitar Saga, End

I strung it today with new d'Addario strings, tuned it and played a bit; it sounds great.  Looks like the sanding and new finish replaced the old without changing the tone at all(at least that I can tell).

And it looks like it did new.  Couple of small spots that didn't come out perfect; oh well.  I'm not sanding it down and starting over for a couple of imperfections you have to look for to find, not after all this.

I'm satisfied.  And relieved.  Now to start trying to work back up to the way I used to play.

Next step in the Hammerless mods

When last we visited this subject, I’d replaced the front sight with a Mepro shotgun bead. It works. Problem was, it sits on top of the original rear sight and overpowers it; that glowing bead is great in dim light, but for aimed fire in good light, this combination isn’t the best. So I’ve been looking for some suitable iron sights.

Lots of looking, trying to find some suitable iron, then something someone said at some point(isn't that precise?) came to mind and I checked the Kahr site: well, well, well. They have parts, including the sights. And some of the Kahr pistols are small…

I picked the rear sight from the P380: dovetails in, white line in the center. It’s a little wider fore-to-aft in the base than the original, much wider side-to-side. The side-to–side isn’t a problem: a little sanding and polishing. The fore-to-after requires more work. Did some measuring and thinking, and found that the dovetail angle on the slide and the new sight matches a equilateral triangular(or three sided, if you want to be precise) file nicely, so I took a file(bought a new one for the purpose) and ground two sides smooth(‘safe’) so only one side can cut. It also made the file a little slimmer: it wouldn’t fit into the dovetail, but after the grinding(on the belt sander) it slipped in nicely. The bottom- being safe- could slide smoothly and keep the file level. So was able to make a few strokes on the front angle of the dovetail, try the sight, turn the slide and make a few on the rear, try, and so on. Only took a few minutes to reach the point the sight would slide in about halfway under finger pressure, and some taps with a punch and the 2oz. hammer took it the rest of the way. So here’s how it looks now:

The rear of the sight, around the slot, is undercut to prevent reflection, and it’s a wide slot: wide enough that that shotgun sight fills it with just a tiny line of daylight on each side(this is after I ground/polished the sides of the sight to fit it to the slide).

Next step is the range to see how this combination works. For my eyes almost anything is better than the original sights, and I think this will work nicely. I might pick up one of the matching Kahr front sights later, if so I’ll have to cut/have cut a dovetail in the slide for it; while it’s possible to do it yourself with a file, I’d be scared to death of getting the dovetail cocked to one side, throwing the sight off square. So unless I can figure out a way to set up a jig to keep things true, that’ll be a job for a mill, which means paying someone(I know someone with a lathe, nobody with a mill). So, if decide to do that, it’ll be a ways down the road.

The other mod I want to do is the safety.  I'm thinking cut a wide groove in it, and solder in a piece to give it more of the shape of a 1911 safety.  Then, if I get REALLY picky, figure a way to give the safety a click for on & off.

Note: lots of spam the last week or so,

and sometimes it comes in bunches: if you made a comment and haven't seen it, it may have been dumped in the spam folder and deleted.  Sorry 'bout that.

And damn, there's a LOT of spam pushing Uggs

Let's talk about that lying little bleep, VP Biden:

It turns out, Biden left one important detail out of his account of the Situation Room deliberations — Biden counseled Obama not to do what he did. Alone among the president’s advisers, Biden opposed every option under consideration for killing of Osama bin Laden.
    ...
Biden’s reasons were based not on national security, but on electoral politics. “The vice president was never shy about political calculations,” Bowden writes, citing exclusive interviews with Obama and other top officials. “Biden believed that if the president decided to choose either the air or the ground option, and if the effort failed, Obama could say goodbye to a second term.”
Further in the linked story, there's some history of the foreign policy experience Biden brought to the Obama Administration; my first thought , having my memory refreshed by this, is "What did Biden have on someone to get the Veep slot as a payoff?"

You may have heard that New York is threatening to pass microstamping legislation; Remington(for one) is saying "Pass this, and we'll look at moving to another state."  Gun bigot politicians & hacks are making the usual "You're bluffing!" noises.  One of the followons that occurs to me: It's been pointed out by many that changing a firing pin isn't a big deal; in some firearms it's a five-minute job at most.  So if this is passed, expect to see legislation soon after stating that it's a crime to replace the firing pin in ANY firearm with one that does not have the stamping, also a crime to replace one and not report it to the police on the proper form.
They'd consider it a twofer: both trying to keep microstamping going, and building up a further registration of firearms in the state.  And you know damn well the NSD would love to shove that out nationwide; can you say 'backdoor registration'?
Not to mention upping the cost of repairing a firearm.
Not to mention that the logical next step for them would be to REQUIRE you to replace ALL firing pins with one properly registered.  All for public safety, of course.

This crap makes you wonder if someone in the State Department or upper reaches of Obama's people WANTED the ambassador dead for some reason:
ATTKISSON: Do you feel like there was a disconnect between what you saw on the ground and what the State Dept. folks thought was going on in Libya?
WOOD: There was certainly no disconnect in our transfer of information to them. They were getting the information on the situation on the ground. We sent it up through State Dept. cables and I sent it up to the military side on the D.O.D. side. So, there was awareness of what the situation in Libya was about.
ATTKISSON: How did you get the word that your team would not be allowed to stay?
WOOD: We knew that was coming through the cables and the draft cables that were going back and forth. The requests were being modified to say ‘don’t even request for D.O.D. support’.
ATTKISSON: So State Dept. was telling the folks on the ground in Libya ‘don’t continue to ask for this help’?
    WOOD: Correct.

What might be going on in your school district?
Florida Republicans are outraged after a school district allowed a pro-Obama organization to conduct student voter registration drives and deliver speeches to classes – but denied the Romney campaign similar opportunities.
    ...
In addition to voter registration, a former teacher was allowed to deliver Obama speeches to a number of senior high school students.
“She got into six classrooms and gave pro-Obama speeches – like way off to the left,” said James Mathieu, general counsel for the Pasco County Republican Party. “That got out to parents and parents complained.”
People should be fired for this.

That's a real good question: if it's not to pay off foreign money people, why the hell would Obama not want this industry building ships and creating jobs?

Next, look for Moms Against Drunk Driving to sue Ford and Toyota(but not Government Motors, I think) for knowingly selling cars to someone who drinks.  And might at some point in the future do something that might lead to an accident.

Oh, this must really tick some people off:
The State Supreme court has just ruled unanimously a person mislead into believing they are the father of a child may sue the mother for back payments made if it is later found they are not the biological father of that child.

I shall now prepare for a dentist appointment.  And, after that, today I string the guitar and give it a try, which I'm actually nervous about.

    Walther PK380 recall

During an internal quality review, Carl Walther GmbH has identified a condition that may exist in certain PK380 pistols which may permit a round to be discharged if the trigger is pulled, despite engagement of the manual safety. Walther has found that engagement of the manual safety may not prevent firing of a chambered round when the trigger is pulled.
This recall applies to Walther PK380, .380 ACP pistols manufactured by Carl Walther GmbH from May through September 2012, which have a serial number range from PK101201 to PK112155.
STOP USING YOUR PISTOL AND RETURN IT TO WALTHERAMERICA AT ONCE.
Any unintended discharge of a firearm has the potential to cause injury, and we ask that you stop using your pistol until we have an opportunity to inspect it to make certain that there is no condition which will allow the pistol to discharge with the safety engaged.
To facilitate the inspection and repair, if necessary, of your pistol, please contact Waltheramerica’s customer service department at 1-800-713-0356 to receive instructions and a call tag for the return of your pistol to Waltheramerica.
Additional information will be posted on Waltheramerica.com. If you have any questions about this recall, please contact Waltheramerica at 1-800-713-0356.

Yeah, who cares about the Constitution and state laws

and oaths of office and all that crap when you can try to shove through a invalid law just to tie things up?
CCWAE’s Lee Einer said that the mayor should “Let it play out in court.”
Hey, New Mexico and citizens of Las Vegas, you have any idea of how much of your money these dirtbags want to waste in going to court on something they'll lose?

Of course, they don't give a damn; you'd better.

Every 'Romney lied! Republican are evil!' cliche and accusation

is all lined up, but at least he's also putting some blame on Obama.
Also, he ignores how long Democrats controlled Congress, and Obama having a can't-override majority; ALL the blame is the wicked Republicans getting in the way, not wanting to fix things, and(for a change) Obama not being willing to be nasty enough to fight them(Herbert, you slut, what ABOUT those majorities in Congress?)...

The problem with looking for Dyson Spheres?  If you've got the tech to build solar panels around a star, you've got the tech to bring in reactor fuel from other planets, from asteroids and so on.  Not to mention they might find other ways of generating energy; saying every civilization in the Universe eventually runs out of energy on its home planet, and then tries to deal with it the same way... somehow, I don't think so.

Interesting things turn up in great-great-grandmas' recipe book.

How much you want to bet Valerie Jarret is still pissed about the bin Laden mission, and doesn't want the poor murdering terrorists taken out?  Wonder if anyone will manage to talk him into giving the 'ok' for this mission, or if he'll stutter and delay and let them escape?

How much should you trust the State Department?

    This little:
The State Department confirmed Father Kappes did visit the embassy, but he did not request safe haven. His father said his son left the embassy because he was denied safe haven. Mr. Kappes thinks the State Department is trying to cover up a mistake.
    ...
UPDATE: If you're abroad and your life is in danger make sure you know the magic words when you go to the US Embassy.
Father Kappes's sister Nadia Charcap updated her Facebook page last night saying the State Department denied her brother a safe haven because he asked for sanctuary or asylum. If he asked specifically for a safe haven then they would have saved him.
But there's another problem. They originally said he never asked for safety.
Which one is it? Either way the State Department comes out with egg on their face. An American citizen went to them for help and they denied him. Then they lied about him asking for help, but seeing the evidence contradicted him now they say he asked for the wrong help.

Of course, we're talking about a State Department run by the same people running our situation in Afghanistan:
As of Monday (9/24), 1,493 Americans have been killed in Afghanistan, 70 percent of them since Barack Obama became president.  About 15 percent of NATO troops killed this year have been killed by our purported Afghan allies.  “Green on blue” attacks were virtually unheard of four years ago.
    ...
Despite its import, the bleak war news attracted little attention from the news media.  In the wake of the 9/11/2012 attacks in Libya and Egypt, this is perhaps understandable.  But there has been little coverage of the Afghan war all year.
If George W. Bush were president, “there would be continuous coverage of the disarray in Afghanistan: the soldiers we’re training are shooting us, the corruption is intensifying, and the opium trade spreading,” said Prof. Walter Russell Mead, who teaches foreign policy at Bard College.
“These stories wouldn’t be on the back pages,” he said.  “They’d be perceived as major news with profound implications for America’s global position and the Sunday shows and nightly TV news round ups would be full of talking heads endlessly analyzing each wrinkle of the failure.”
Yeah, but that would be if a Republican were in the Oval Office; with a Democrat there, our media is too busy kissing his ass to actually REPORT on this stuff.  Like this flat-out idiotic failure in Libya, which our major media doesn't want to talk about:
Lt. Col. Andy Wood was the leader of the 16 member special forces team whose job it was to protect US personnel in Libya. His team’s mission ended in August a month before the deadly Al-Qaeda attack on 9-11. A six member mobile security team was also withdrawn around the same time. This was despite the fact that there were over a dozen attacks in the country this year. Lt. Col. Wood was subpoenaed to appear at a House committee hearing this coming week. Wood told CBS News it was unbelievable to him that the State Department withdrew security when they did because of the 13 security incidents before 9-11.

And we shouldn't forget that these clowns are effing things up in other countries, too.

    A anniversary to note:

Forty five years ago this week, Ernesto "Che" Guevara got a major dose of his own medicine. Without trial he was declared a murderer, stood against a wall and shot. If the saying "What goes around comes around" ever fit, it's here.
I've read some about that piece of crap socialists like to wear on their shirts; vile bastard, he was.
And anyone actually wearing his image in adoring fashion should be considered part of the enemy.

    I'm speechless:
The men and women of the Detroit Police Department believe the city is too dangerous to enter, and they want citizens to know it.

Detroit Police Officer Association (DPOA) Attorney Donato Iorio said officers are holding the “Enter At Your Own Risk” rally at 3:30 p.m. Saturday in front of Comerica Park to remind the public that the officers are overworked, understaffed, and at times, fearful for their lives.

Free speech is under assault. It is under assault by radical Islamists who believe their writ to enforce the dictates of their religion extends to all people in all countries of the world. It is under assault by various thuggist Americans, most of them on the Left, many of whom learned in college that it is quite acceptable–indeed, that it is a moral duty–to shut down the speech of those who are “wrong.” Most of all, it is under assault, at a very basic conceptual level, by academics and journalists who would like to be able to “manage” the marketplace of ideas so that it conforms to their liking.

Another demonstration of the tolerance of the left for anyone- especially some minority-group member- who dares to leave the plantation.

So, they not only manage to run into the guy, they
Try to charge his family for damage to the vehicle,
Manage a wrong-address raid on the family ON THE DAY OF THE FUNERAL...
This just sucks on so many levels.

Obama campaign staffer threatens someone with a megaphone and a position that gets him listened to.
At the current time, the Obama campaign’s response remains: “Unfortunately there seems to have been a miscommunication regarding this conversation, and we have since discussed with the campaign staffer in an effort to clarify the matter.”
    I'll bet.

Anybody really surprised to hear about this?

    Or this?

And(of course!) if you have a problem with illegal immigrants and use that term, or 'illegal alien' YOU'RE JUST LIKE THE NAZIS!!!

Yes, I'm still burning over that idiot "Don't shoot at the enemy, you might disturb someone" garbage; I'm not quite ready to say anything else about it.

    Yeah, I know, it's not my career I'm talking about;

I still want to know why some generals haven't resigned rather than give out these orders, and then said something about it.
Reports indicate U.S. soldiers and British Royal Marines have been urged to show "courageous constraint" by not shooting Taliban members spotted planting IEDs.

The reason? Shooting them might disturb the locals.
I'm just going to borrow some bits from the linked article, because if I start trying to write what I think it'll devolve into bad language and become somewhat incoherent.

U.S. military chiefs ordered troops to exercise 'courageous constraint' and even warned them they could be charged with murder if they shot any Taliban without permission from above.
The claims were made by a former Royal Marine who spoke out following the inquest into the death of Sergeant Peter Rayner last week.
    ...
The 34-year-old phoned his wife in a ‘highly stressed’ state four days before his death and was upset that his fears were not taken seriously.

She said he and his men had watched the enemy, using night-vision goggles, plant improvised explosive devices and were not allowed to attack them. He was allegedly told by one officer: ‘I am an Army Captain and you will do your job.’

He also reveals how they were told not to shoot or use mortars for illumination when they came across Taliban soldiers in an area full of hidden explosive devices.

Mr Smith wrote at the time: 'After a few days it becomes apparent that when we positively identify people we cannot open fire!'
    ...
He told the newspaper: 'In Kajaki I saw Taliban digging in IEDs and was denied the chance to do anything about it for fear of upsetting the locals. Permission to open fire was denied as it would alarm the population.'

A Ministry of Defence spokesman said it had not seen the soldier's diary but it could be a loose interpretation of courageous restraint.
Which is a weasel-wording way of saying "It's all true, but we won't say that outright."
And I can say that I heard from a troop who'd been in Afghanistan that they were told that even if a enemy fired on them, if they returned fire without first getting permission from an officer they could be court-martialed.

Personal opinion: the officers carrying-out and enforcing this, apparently with nobody being willing to say or do anything, suck.  They're getting troops killed.  And the politicians behind this... I consider this at least to be 'aid and comfort to the enemy'; at most treason(what the hell else would you call it?)

I'm pretty sure some of you haven't heard of Professor Elemental, so

Lots of stupid people still like the idea of communism,

which ought to be considered proof of a brain problem.  I mean, come ON, people, you actually believe having the government run everyones' life is the right way?  Really?

Yeah, I know, they really are out there and the really, truly believe that.  They tend to be the same people I've heard them say that the state taking a third to a half of your already multiply-taxed estate just because you died is 'fair'.  Point out all the people who've had to sell the family farm or business to pay that tax extortion under color of law, they either want to change the subject or insist that that's one of the costs of 'fairness'*; I have yet to hear an explanation of how that's 'fair' that made sense to me.

They also tend to be the people who want to control our energy use, our medicine, our language, our EVERYEFFINGTHING in the name of 'fairness' and 'equality' and all the other effing buzzwords they use to disguise what they really want, which is tyranny.

With a nicer name and a smiley face pasted over the fangs, of course.

*I'd stated that the death tax was theft under color of law; the response was a sneering "So it hurts the poor little rich kids?  Isn't that sad."  I asked if she included as 'poor little rich kids' people who've lost the farm or business to pay that tax, and got no answer.  At all.

Added: Stalin forbid some school with a good cook has better food:
"A menu has been developed... It is about making a collective effort on quality, to improve school meals overall and to try and ensure everyone does the same," Katarina Lindberg, head of the unit responsible for the school diet scheme, told the local Falukuriren newspaper.

*Same person later insisted that the legal loopholes to hide/shelter/etc. an estate from being looted(y'know, like Ted Kennedy and other tax-dodging National Socialist Democrats do) "isn't that big a deal."  My response: "Yeah, you should have to hire lawyers and jump through hoops to prevent your legacy being looted."  "It's NOT looting; it's the price we pay for living in this wonderful country."
Moment of stupified silence.  "The 'price we pay' is being robbed because people like you think it's FAIR?"
    Yes, they do.
