Last night of the week

brings the data.  And one worn the hell out host.  See you later.

Once again, a bunch of professional journalists prove they're not to be trusted

to do anything but parrot what they want people to hear.  Activists and leftist politicians getting kid-glove treatment.

And then they bitch because people don't trust them.

Friday has arrived, I'm still breathing,

but I need to finish  the 'get this done' stuff and go collapse.  Therefore, here are the optical results.

So who the hell gave the Capitol Police the jurisdiction to do this?

Yes, I know, Pelosi thinks she can order anything.  She can't, but she's been allowed to get away with so much bullshit she believes it.

As someone said, sounds like the Capitol Police don't trust the Feebs to do this.  I wonder why...

Add National Health Service to Wuhan idiocy, and piles of bodies is what you get.

Over 2,300 people placed on surgical waiting lists during the outbreak of COVID-19 in Canada died between January 2020 and December 2020, a report from Canadian thinktank SecondStreet.org confirmed last month.

Within Canada, some 353,000 surgeries, procedures, and clinical consultations were postponed or cancelled owing to lockdown measures implemented as part of the government response to COVID-19. The impetus behind the postponement of non-essential treatments was to free up bed space in preparation for a surge in COVID-19 admissions, and to maintain physical distancing between patients in wards.

SecondStreet.org were able to confirm 2,367 deaths by filing freedom of information requests with numerous health authorities across the country, obtaining the number of patients removed from surgical waiting lists due to dying before being able to attend their appointment. The thinktank warned that the number may be suppressed as the relevant “data from Quebec, New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, two major health regions in British Columbia, the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority and several hospitals in Ontario” were not tracked and thus could not be added to the tally.

God knows how many people died in the US because of the same stupidity, and how many are dealing with worse situations because "Your treatment doesn't count as emergency, so screw you."  Canada also has their rationing system, where "Screw you, you get your screening/treatment when we say so."
The report also documented patients who had died whilst waiting for “Diagnostic scans/Appointments with specialists,” showing that 6,202 patients had died before consultation. “These cancellations ranged from CT scans and ultrasounds to urology consultations and coagulation follow-ups,” the reports states, adding that the “vast majority of data provided concerned diagnostic scans rather than information on appointments with specialists.”

Now add this level of stupid and control freak

In order to save the planet from catastrophic climate change, Americans will have to cut their energy use by more than 90 percent and families of four should live in housing no larger than 640 square feet. That's at least according to a team of European researchers led by University of Leeds sustainability researcher Jefim Vogel. In their new study, "Socio-economic conditions for satisfying human needs at low energy use," in Global Environmental Change, they calculate that public transportation should account for most travel. Travel should, in any case, be limited to between 3,000 to 10,000 miles per person annually.
...
In addition, food consumption per capita would vary depending on age and other conditions, but the average would be 2,100 calories per day. While just over 10 percent of the world's people are unfortunately still undernourished, the Food and Agriculture Organization reports that the daily global average food supply now stands at just under 3,000 calories per person. Each individual is allocated a new clothing allowance of nine pounds per year, and clothes may be washed 20 times annually. The good news is that everyone over age 10 is permitted a mobile phone and each household can have a laptop.
...
Vogel and his colleagues are undaunted by the fact that there are absolutely no examples of low-energy societies providing decent living standards—as defined by the researchers themselves—for their citizens. So they proceed to jigger the various provisioning factors until they find that what is really needed is a "more fundamental transformation of the political-economic regime." That fundamental transformation includes free government-provided high-quality public services in areas such as health, education, and public transport.

My, isn't that interesting? Now throw in this:
Two things that humanity for sure doesn't need according to the study are economic growth or the continued extraction of natural resources such as oil, coal, gas, or minerals. Vogel concluded: "In short, we need to abandon economic growth in affluent countries, scale back resource extraction, and prioritize public services, basic infrastructures and fair income distributions everywhere." He added, "In my view, the most promising and integral vision for the required transformation is the idea of degrowth—it is an idea whose time has come."
I think an idea whose time has come is to give these assholes half a helicopter ride.

Environmental Activists: "Who cares if they wipe out the Uyghurs,

that just helps the overpopulation problem, stick to what's important!"

And ignore that the PRC is pushing more of its subjects to have more kids, because the slow-detonating demographic bomb they lit with their one-child policy finally got their attention.  Because "If we're nice to them they'll stop building all those new coal-fired power plants!"  Note that if the enviroweenies believe that, they're too stupid to continue breathing.

It seems the ice is cracking on Babbitt's killer,

and it's getting interesting.

Now a new name has surfaced in the Babbitt imbroglio — Lt. Michael L. Byrd — and while USCP Communications Director Eva Malecki won’t confirm he is the shooter, in this case she isn’t denying it.
...
In addition, Byrd’s resume lines up with what is known about the experience and position of the officer involved in the shooting — a veteran USCP officer who holds the rank of lieutenant and is the commander of the House Chamber Section of the Capitol Police.

Following the shooting, Byrd’s Internet footprint was scrubbed, including his social media and personal photos.

This is interesting:
In February 2019, Lt. Byrd was investigated for leaving his department-issued Glock-22 firearm unattended in a restroom on the House side of the Capitol, even though the potent weapon, which fires .40-caliber rounds, has no manual safety to prevent unintended firing. Fortunately, the abandoned gun was discovered by another officer during a routine security sweep. A Glock-22 was used in the Babbitt shooting.

Byrd addressed the blunder at a roll call the following morning, reportedly telling fellow officers that he would “be treated differently” because of his rank as a lieutenant.

The lawsuits are being filed, and they're pushing for more information.  I'd say this is going to get messy.

As to whether justice will be done?  Considering the agency, and our current 'Justice' Department, I doubt it, but I'd be happy to be surprised.

I have to present Lawdog's Independence Day post

before I collapse for the night.

This sounds like something you'd do to destroy a military unit

by making them dislike and distrust each other, and by ruining the ones who refuse to play the game.

Which means these people should be tarred and feathered.  And then hanged.  Because this shit is going to get a lot of people crippled and killed.
This places a huge amount of pressure to say something that you don’t believe at all. Did you have the audacity to claim that you’re not a racist, not a privileged bigot, well the instructor could fail you according to this report and instructor is judging you, and if they don’t like what you have to say, or don’t think it’s sincere, you risk damage to your career.

This isn’t only insane, it’s actually a type of compelled speech, and certainly raises free speech concerns. And this training is clearly shaped by critical race theory in the sense that it’s designed to force participants to believe that any of their behaviors is just a product of their inherent racism and the dynamics of power associated with that.

And for my good-night post,

May we one and all be the extremists that Zuckerbitch, Twatter and Google wet their pants over.

Happy Birthday, US

If we can keep the perpetually offended, crooked, and criminal from completely effing it up, we might keep cooking for a while yet.
