Be is said that this- especially the SPLC- should've happened a LONG time ago; so, what's happened that it now has?  Just what's putting pressure on the EffingBI to act like it actually cares about facts and law enforcement instead of acting as part of the Praetorian Guard?

Exploitation? Michael Moore didn’t use union workers on his film claiming that greedy corporations exploit workers. The American Prospect, which frequently demands a hike in the minimum wage, offers a $100 weekly stipend for a full-time internship.

Many opponents of voucher programs send their kids to private schools. John Edwards called for steep tax hikes, after years of using a legal loophole to save $600,000 in Medicare taxes. If you have the right party affiliation, you can do anything. You can even run up a giant carbon footprint traveling around the world urging other people to reduce their carbon footprint.

Apparently Sen. Yee was taking lessons from MAIG

The indictment alleges Yee and Jackson defrauded "citizens of honest services" and were involved in a scheme to traffic firearms in exchange for thousands in campaign donations to the senator.

Federal prosecutors also allege Yee agreed to perform official acts in exchange for the money, including one instance in which he introduced a businessman to state legislators who had significant influence over pending medical marijuana legislation. In exchange, the businessman -- who was actually an undercover FBI agent -- agreed to donate thousands to Yee's campaign fund, according to the indictment.

The indictment also describes an August 2013 exchange in which Jackson told an undercover officer that Yee had an arms-trafficking contact. Jackson allegedly said Yee could facilitate a meeting for a donation.
Why the comparison to MAIG, you ask?
The gun charges go against Yee's stand as a gun control advocate.

In 2006, Yee was named to the Gun Violence Prevention Honor Roll by the Brady Campaign for his efforts that included co-authoring a first-in-the-nation bill to require new semiautomatic handguns be equipped with ballistics identification technology known as micro-stamping.

In 2013, he stood with law enforcement officials and then-Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa to propose a bill that would regulate assault weapons.
Makes you wonder how long the corrupt little shit's been doing this, doesn't it?

• Removal of fingerprinting for renewal of Weapons Carry Licenses (WCL).
• Prohibiting the state from creating and maintaining a database of WCL holders.
• Creation of an absolute defense for the legal use of deadly force in the face of a violent attack.
• Removal of the sweeping restrictions on legally carrying a firearm with a WCL in churches and bars, leaving this decision to private property owners.
• Lowering the age to obtain a concealed WCL for self-defense from 21 to 18 for active duty military, with specific training.
• Repealing the unnecessary and duplicative state-required license for a firearms dealer, instead requiring only a Federal Firearms License (FFL).
• Prohibiting a ban on firearms in public housing, ensuring that the right to self-defense should not be infringed based on where one calls home.
• Codifying the ability to legally carry, with a WCL, in sterile/non-secure areas of airports.

And that's just part of it.  One of the others that's very nice:
Including a provision that would have the state report those persons who have been involuntarily hospitalized or have been adjudicated mentally deficient to the NICS system while also providing an ability for relief through an application process to the court system for the purpose of restoration of rights.
Which should be the case everywhere, so being accused of 'mental problems'(see Illinois) doesn't screw you forever.

And yes, the Usual Suspects are having cows.  Including their usual scaremongering and flat-out lying:
Opponents of the bill refer to the measure as an expansion of Stand Your Ground because it has the potential to give felons and other individuals currently banned from owning a gun permission to carry in unauthorized areas.

ATF gets slapped down

on their "We'll tell you what the rules are after we decide you've broken them" methods.

“In any agency review case, a reviewing court is generally obligated to uphold a reasonable agency decision that is the product of a rational agency process,” U.S. District Judge John Bates wrote Wednesday. “This is not a high bar. But in this case, ATF fails to clear it.”

Nice to see a judge finally call them on this.  I like this part too:

He also granted Innovator summary judgment on its claim under the Administrative Procedure Act, holding that the agency’s action must be set aside as arbitrary and capricious because of the agency’s failure to “articulate a satisfactory explanation” and “examine the relevant data” in classifying Innovator’s Stabilizer Brake as a “firearm silencer.”

Over in CT, they're still pretending they're not screwing gun owners and trashing the 2nd:
 Starting April 1st, gun buyers will be required to apply for a certificate from the state before purchasing any long gun from either a licensed or private seller. State Police warn it could add weeks if not months to what was a two week process.

Hunters witnessed the officers killing at least four of the ten bears that were taken. These agents, against the advice of hunters, removed the bears’ gallbladders and called hunters from surrounding counties to try to get them to participate in the illegal selling of bear parts. The hunters refused to take part in this illegal activity. These are only two of the many tactics used in attempts to entrap hunters of Western North Carolina.
And of COURSE they have ninja suits and Stasi attitudes, and choose to exercise them:
Additionally, state and federal agents employed “Gestapo-like” techniques in search and seizure of so-called “evidence”, including improper service of search-warrants.

Men in bullet-proof vests, with M-16 rifles came into homes where women were alone.
In one house, more than 20 agents with guns drawn, terrorized screaming toddlers and left them unsupervised while the parents were roughed up, searched, handcuffed, and taken outside the home. To this day, these children display post-traumatic stress symptoms.

In this case, all charges were dropped due to lack of evidence.

Wildlife Commission. Arnold was named “Wildlife Enforcement Officer of the Year”, and the Commission was named the “Natural Resources Agency of the Year”, according to a press release from the N.C. Wildlife Commission.
Note that the Forest Service got involved in this crap, too.

The agencies took a novel approach in the briefs they filed in EFF and the ACLU of Southern California's California Public Records Act lawsuit seeking a week's worth of Automatic License Plate Reader (ALPR) data. They have argued that "All [license plate] data is investigatory." The fact that it may never be associated with a specific crime doesn't matter.
I'd say such a load of crap should be used for fertilizer, but this is corrosive enough to kill the plants.

There have been no prosecutions in the UK despite FGM being outlawed nearly 30 years ago, and despite more than 140 referrals to police since 2010. Those referrals only give a tiny hint to the scale of these vicious crimes. Last year Britain’s National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children produced research indicating that more than 70 women and girls in Britain seek treatment every month after undergoing genital mutilation.
70 females a month.  That's  840 a year.  That's the ones actually seeking treatment; wonder how many can't or won't?

Speaking of corrupt dirtbags, I give you the response of Pennsylvania Attorney General Kathleen Kane to being called on some pretty blatant corruption: threaten to sue people.
The decision to lawyer up and take “appropriate action” against either the leakers or the papers goes far beyond the bounds of a reasonable response. This is indisputably a newsworthy story. The public deserves to know what happened with this investigation and why it happened. Kane’s acceleration from “it was racism” to “it’s the Good Ol’ Boys” to “I will start suing people” is despicable in any public servant, but even more so from the state’s top prosecutor.
I'm also wondering just what reaction she's getting from the prosecutors and investigators she called racists; be interesting if they sued her for lying about them, wouldn't it?


Representative Renee Ellmers of North Carolina; didn't take long for her to turn into an arrogant, abusive, lying politician, did it?

If you're in Kansas, you need to yell at your legislator

The Kansas House Standing Committee on Corrections and Juvenile Justice has introduced a bill that will require private citizens who file complaints against police officers to sign an affidavit, acknowledging that if their allegations are proven false, they can be charged with perjury, which is a felony charge.

Furthermore, this bill prohibits a Kansas law enforcement agency from opening an investigation into a complaint if another law enforcement agency has already investigated the complaint and found in favor of the officer.
Wonderful, huh?  Rubber-stamp a "No problem found" paper and charge the citizen who had the nerve to file a complaint with perjury.  AND no other state agency could investigate it.  Can you say "Kissing up to the police union"?  Can you say "Horrible piece of crap bill"?

De Blasio has said, “There’s no way in hell Eva Moskowitz should get free rent” — as if the 6,700 students in the charter schools she runs were a mere afterthought in his personal vendetta against a fellow Democrat.

Despite this evidence, Pennsylvania Attorney General Kathleen Kane has not charged any officials. Kane is a Democrat.

Apparently since no one, let alone the residents of Laurel Street, knew where or even if Dzhokhar Tsarnaev was still in the area, I suppose a cursory search of the area while explaining police tactics to each and every neighbor would suffice in their minds.
I suppose acting like COPS instead of infantry, cops who swore to uphold the Constitution- including that 4th Amendment that you seem to find so inconvenient- wouldn't do; no, you had to point guns at anyone looking out a window, and shove into homes without a warrant and otherwise act like thugs.  "It was an emergency!" suffices in your mind for violating law.

In a way, the real winner is this: ...let the professionals do their jobs, and keep your second guessing to yourselves.
Screw you, Mr. Boston Police Dept. (retired).  The people you work for get to decide what they think of the way you act, whether you like it or not.  And they can yell about it when you act like occupying infantry.

The court applied the Delaware Constitution’s right to bear arms provision — “A person has the right to keep and bear arms for the defense of self, family, home and State, and for hunting and recreational use” — and the court noted that this language may justify broader protection than that given by the Second Amendment. Still, the precedent is likely to prove influential in other states as well, since the case deals with having guns for self-defense, which D.C. v. Heller has held is covered by the Second Amendment. The Project: first try

Overall, very successful.

Only about 55 rounds through, 40 of handloads and 15 Federal 230-grain Hydra-Shock(yes, I've still got some).  In the first two mags had a couple of failures to feed, but I'm calling it ammo-caused; take that round out the mag and the rest fed without fail.  On the first, the slide felt like it was binding, but after ejecting that round and cycling the slide a couple of times, that went away, quite smooth after that.  And the Federals fed, fired and ejected perfectly.  Next time I'll take a box of factory ball and run it through; I'm expecting it'll perform as should.

Accuracy was very good(longest range tried ~15 yards).

The modified GI grip safety worked just fine: no pinching or biting.  I'll clean it up nicely and keep it in.

I will pick up a extended thumb safety, or else find someone to do some welding and add a piece on and shape it; I'd forgotten how nice an extended is compared to the standard.

I'll detail strip it later and examine EVERYTHING again.  I'll look the feed ramp over, if looks like it could use it I'll polish it a bit*, but unless I see something that really calls for it I'll leave it alone.

I can't speak highly enough of the Caspian frame.  Everything appears to be exactly to spec, and the finish is excellent.  There's one or two places that I'll dress down to match to the slide better, but that's not in any way a criticism of the frame; they're making it for people to build a pistol on, and not knowing what slide and so forth will be used, some fitting or matching is to be expected.  And this is purely for aesthetics; the frame WORKS, and that's the important thing.

*Stop screaming.  I actually have a half-assed idea what I'm doing here, and I know the difference between 'polish' and 'reshape into uselessness'.  And I'm not going to touch it until it's had at least another box of ammo through it; I doubt it'll need it.

Over in CT, Dora Schriro is head of the Department of Emergency Services and Public Protection, which is the people sending letters 'Turn in or destroy your guns and magazines that make us wet our panties'.  She insists "We're not confiscating guns!"  Except
Confiscation does not depend on law enforcement or government officials going door to door to physically remove "forbidden" items. Governments have and continue to engage in confiscation by requiring citizens to turn in forbidden items or destroy them.
In the case of Connecticut, citizens have several choices at their disposal, all of which amount to confiscation -- that is, by law they are relieved and deprived of the right to possess "assault weapons" and magazines that can hold more than 10 bullets.

And guess what turns up in the past of Schriro?
Schriro has courted controversy in her prior jobs. Back in 2004, a federal judge in Missouri refused to admit sworn testimony from her, saying she and other correction officials can't be trusted to tell the truth because of previous misleading statements under oath in a lawsuit filed by an inmate, according to a report in the Riverfront Times of St. Louis.

The judge, Carol Jackson, said the defendants, including Schriro, had "demonstrated unreliability." "It is beyond dispute that defendants' affidavits contained false statements," she wrote.

On March 16, SAFE Act protesters gathered in Saratoga, New York and burned "nearly a thousand gun registration forms."

Postar.com reports the forms "are used for people to register with New York State Police firearms that meet the state's definition of military-style assault weapons."

The Saratogian reports that "hundreds of gun rights advocates" turned out for the rally, which turned out to be "equal parts a rally against Gov. Andrew Cuomo and a teach-in on how to not comply with [the] SAFE Act assault weapons registration law." The latter consisted of showing gun owners how to make lawful cosmetic changes to their AR-15s in order to keep them legal.

The meet included this message:
We're basically explaining to people once they register, that gun is no longer theirs. It's a matter of time as to when the state will take it...It will be upon their death or when they change the law and decide to confiscate the guns that have been registered.
Especially considering Howler early-on stated that 'confiscation or forced sale are being considered'.

Those are the Crimson Trace grips the Kimber had worn for years; they'll need to be zeroed for their new home.  And it'll be two-tone for a while, maybe forever; this is a carry piece so a bit of wear(ok, a LOT of wear) on the upper isn't exactly a big deal.

As noted before for the ejector you make sure the legs aren't too long. Then mark the forward leg and cut a notch for the pin to go through(the book says file it just a touch high, so the pin forces the leg down for extra-tight fit).  Degrease thoroughly, holes, pin and legs, then put together.

The plunger tube, well, the tool worked.  And yes, I was sweating blood while I used it.  No pictures of this, as just no way to do it by myself.

Then I fully assembled it and did every dry-fire test I know of, and all seems well.  Stripped it back down and cleaned and lubed everything; grease in a few places, PDB's homebrew CLP everywhere else.  It's going to sit till morning, then I'll wipe off the excess and fully assemble.  Here's how it looks with the grip screw bushings on:

Mr. Cinque told us that he had a two and a half hour "sit down" with the Branford Police Department on Tuesday. He said that the Branford PD was supposed to come out with an apology for Peterson's comments and wanted Cinque's endorsement of the apology in an attempt to cool things down.

Aping recent ABC News propaganda, the piece insists: “Sadly, one study reports some 7,500 children were admitted to U.S. hospitals with gunshot wounds last year. About 500 of them died.”
This half-truth rests on selectively quoting a “Pediatrics” journal article, then lumping together varying demographics and intentionality, and finally defining as “children” gang members up to age 19.
Consider “Pediatrics” conclusions the writer avoided mentioning: “Hospitalization rates were highest for 15- to 19-year-olds and for black males.” Indeed, 84 percent of gun injuries were for 15- to 19-year-olds and 62 percent resulted from criminal assaults, often gang-related. Another: “... the rate for black adolescents aged 15 to 19 years ... was 13.1 ... times higher than the rate for whites in the same age group.”
Yeah, actually dealing with the gang problem doesn't fit into the 'Guns Cause Bad!' line; so they don't bother.  Screw the actual problem, let's use these numbers to scare people into doing what we want!
Summarizing, accidental gun deaths among young children are rare, the majority of gun injuries result from assaults on – and perhaps by – teenagers approaching age 20 (including 16 killed by police), and the problem is disproportionately suffered by black teenagers 13 times more often than whites. Given that BJS estimates 37.6 percent of gun injuries go unreported, even that is likely an underestimate.
Poverty, fatherless families and a subculture of violence are likely culprits, but those problems won’t be solved by disarming responsible citizens. Attempts by gun ban advocates to hide their agenda behind the innocent visage of Zuri Chambers are deception, pure and simple.
And where are the gang problems the worst, you violence problems the worst?  Usually in places where Democrats/Socialists have had control of things for a long time; and if they actually tried to do something about the REAL problem it would bring embarrassing attention to that.

This is a straightforward choice: We can take $75 billion and either way we’ll use it to protect tax loopholes for billionaires or $75 billion can be used to help students to refinance their outstanding student loan debt. It’s billionaires or students.

This particular quote is instructive in so many ways.  First, note how she makes the point that government “permits” billionairs to keep their money via loopholes.  Obviously she believes that’s something that shouldn’t be permitted, but more importantly in infers a belief that everything you earn belongs to government.  The student loan program is simply an excuse for taking it if she has her way.  If it weren’t that, it would be something else.  But bottom line she believes government has a right to that money in the name of  … well you call it – fairness?  Equality?  Whatever.
And let's not forget where all those loopholes came from: idiots like Warren wanting to use the tax code to punish people they aren't happy with and 'redistribute' money.
