This is the kind of crap the hoplophobes dearly want to see here
The society voluntarily submitted the swords, excluding decomposed ones, after finding 592 of mostly rusty Japanese swords without registration cards in February and March last year when they checked storage areas for repair work, the society said. Under the Swords and Firearms Control Law, owners are required to have their swords registered as art objects at prefectural boards of education.
Got that? It's basically a friggin' museum, but Deity Forbid they have something that isn't registered with the gummint; that's just not tolerable!
What the hoplophobes want: objects blamed for and banned for what people do; partly because "It's just right!" and largely because it makes people easier to control.
Rust blue and the Martini receiver
For what it's worth, my clean & degrease process was to put it in a small tub with mineral spirits and work it all over with a toothbrush to get rid of oil and grease, then after it dried washed with Dawn and warm water. Then to the glass plate and abrasive, then wash again with Dawn and start the rusting. I do wear gloves whenever using the spirits and when washing just before starting the bluing. When cleaning the piece off after boiling I didn't wear gloves, in this case for the final scrub used my fingers inside the receiver to hold it. Yes, it would be better to wear gloves whenever handling it.
Added: Few days back I was baking a revolver in the oven to soak grease into the parkerizing; today I was boiling a receiver on the stove. I ever get serious about a lady again, she's going to have to have a tolerance for crap like this. As first wife used to answer "What's that smell?", "Firehand is baking knives/gun parts/something again."
If you have a Beretta Neo,
Beretta U.S.A. Corp. has discovered a potential condition with Beretta .22 caliber NEOS semiautomatic pistols in which the pistol will fire even if the safety is activated and, in some cases, the pistols may fire if the safety is moved from the OFF to the ON position. Chances of either of these situations occurring is extremely remote and no injuries have occurred because of this condition, however, because of safety concerns relating to this situation, Beretta U.S.A. Corp. is immediately implementing a recall of Beretta .22 caliber NEOS semiautomatic pistols. For more information, download a pdf copy of the Recall Notice.
Among the reasons I started calling the place Californicated
In December 2008, CARB enacted a sweeping set of regulations of diesel engines. It was based on the claim that 3,500 deaths a year occurred from the diesel particulates in the air [PM 2.5]. Not only was the claim itself proven to be bogus, [zer∅ deaths per year*] the person in charge of the CARB “study” was revealed to have purchased his cum laude doctorate online for a measly $1,000. His name is Hien Tran. CARB can not fire him, or even re-assign him [say, to filing or mens’ room cleaning] because of CA labor laws and public union regulations.
...
Well the CARB morons have been caught again. [see also: need for free press]
[CARB] grossly miscalculated pollution levels in a scientific analysis used to toughen the state’s clean-air standards ...by 340 percent.
...The staff of the powerful [oh yeah] and widely respected [is that a bend-of-the-knee I see?] Air Resources Board said the overestimate is largely due to the board calculating emissions before the economy slumped…
Independent researchers, however, found huge overestimates in the air board’s work on diesel emissions and attributed the flawed work to a faulty method of calculation - not the economic downturn.
Imagine the result in private industry if one’s research turned out to be “miscalculated” by 340%?
And the enviroweenie bastards want desperately to force this crap on all of us; and most of them don't seem to give a damn whether the 'facts' they use are true or not.Mary Nichols, chairwoman of the California Air Resources Board, ...was recently asked why the air board estimate of a nitrous oxide source was off by at least a factor of two - air board scientists have since revised their numbers, and data show the estimate was off by 340 percent. Nichols’ response: “I can’t answer that for you.”

So if you have a Citi credit card, you need to be aware
I contacted Citi's media wing to attempt to get their side of the story. Elizabeth Fogarty, Citi Public Affairs answered with the following prepared statement:
"Citi does not prohibit the financing of firearms purchases by individuals nor the financing of businesses that manufacture and sell them to individuals for recreational use. However, we do prohibit financing merchants in the non-ancillary military equipment industry, including the financing of businesses that manufacture and or sell firearms for military use. While we do not discuss individual credit applications, we are always open to reviewing particular decisions when appropriate to ensure the policy is applied correctly."
Unfamiliar with the term "non-ancillary military equipment," I asked for clarification. The response was that "the policy prohibits financing businesses that manufacture and/or sell firearms for military use."
Somehow, I feel the story doesn't end here. As always, we'll keep you posted.
As Insty says, the People's Republic of China is still run
And hey, Nobel Committee, if you'd given him this prize last year instead of using it to polish Obama's ass, maybe it would have done some good, y'know?
As I recall, Mother Jones wasn't too bothered
Did Goolsbee get Koch tax info? Don't know; this is one of those things that 'If there's a question, the answer HAS to be found, positively yes or no'. There's enough bullshit in the tax system and records now, we cannot allow politicians to play games with it; if Goolsbee or anyone else did, they SHOULD be prosecuted.

Breakables/RCOB warning in effect
This kind of crap IS going to get somebody killed, I have no question.
Ok, so when did the VFW turn into a supporter of progressive politicians
Last night, we received an interesting email from Bev Perlson, who heads the Band of Mothers
group. She's got an awesome email list that is good for keeping up on what's going on around the country.
What was so disturbing was the email listed someone we all know- LTC(r) Allen West, and how the VFW, of all people, THE VEE-EFF-FRICKING-W, was ENDORSING HIS OPPONENT.
You read that right.
His opponent? Democrat Ron Klein. WHO HAS NEVER SERVED IN UNIFORM.
You read THAT right, too.
...
As you may recall, when I returned from Iraq one of the first things I did was join VFW and Legion as 'life members'. Now, it seems, the time has come to rip, burn, and toss my Lifetime Membership for the VFW. I feel like they have completely left us at the station here. Over at the Farm Team, Jonn Lilyea lays out just who the VFW has announced they are supporting:
Barbara Boxer, Alcee Hastings, Barbara Lee, Steny Hoyer, Barbara Mikulsky, Chris VanHollen, John Dingell, Chuckie Schumer, Pat Leahy and Patty Murray
In addition, they support Perlmutter over Bailey (former USAF) Frazier (former Navy) for Colorado; to their credit, they do support Mike Coffman (Marine) in his race in CO. But the rest of the list is disgusting. To me, it reads they are 'supporting' or 'endorsing' only those they see as WINNING. It appears they don't give a RATS ASS who supports vets or who WAS a vet.
I think I'll ass this along to the son, and advise him NOT to join VFW.
Rust bluing, start to finish *addition
Not long ago I found, while going through some papers, an old formula for browning steel. In the case of browning you’re rusting the piece appropriately and then brushing the rust off and oiling it to produce the finish, whereas with rust-bluing you rust the piece appropriately and then boil it(repeat as needed); but in both cases you need something to promote rust, so I decided to try this formula instead of the one I used to blue the Martini.
Test piece:
No, I did not take it all the way to 320, for the purpose of the test 120 will work just fine. And I’m lazy.
My old directions stated “Degrease, apply the solution with a cotton pad or cotton ball(I seem to remember a guy saying he grabbed whichever with a clothes pin, and just dumped the cotton after use), let sit a few hours. Apply a second coat, then leave until rusty.” So I got a cotton makeup pad(shut up, they have LOTS of uses) and wiped the stuff on, then about two hours later hit it again. Here’s how it looked the next day, not quite 24 hours later
This time I went ahead and oiled it to see just how it would look
I gave it a third pass: degrease, wipe with solution, after a couple of hours wipe again(no picture this time; how much rust you need to see?), leave overnight. Again got a nice, even coat of light rust. Boiled it a few minutes, wiped off under running water with steel wool, dried and oiled, and here's the result:
That's the process; nothing mysterious, just takes some preparation and some time.
I think I may clean up that Martini receiver and see if I get better results with this mix.
Added: I have been reminded I forgot to say what the mix is.
The mix in question below my
DISCLAIMER!
This involves the use of acids. Get careless with them and you can get burns, you can damage your eyes, if you inhale acid fumes it can do nasty things to your lungs and other passages. If you decide to mix the stuff up, it's your own responsibility and use all precautions.
The solution is simple:
1 part nitric acid
1 part hydrochloric(muriatic) acid
12 parts water
Mix the above, put them in a container the solution won't eat/rust out/make brittle over time so it cracks and leaks.
Light posting last few days, mix of busy and just not feeling like typing a lot
The NRA is supposed to be focused on "Who is a friend of the 2nd", that doesn't bother me; what bothers me is idiocy like this:
If anyone thinks supporting this proven gun-grabber is the best course for the Republic (and the best inducement for the Republicans to stop with the betrayals, although why they would feel compelled to if they're rewarded anyway is a valid argument), I won't waste my time trying to dissuade you. Although I will point out he apparently doesn't feel your support is worth crowing about... What I will say is, to endorse GUN CONFISCATOR Dan Lungren and not endorse faithful gun rights supporter Sharron Angle points to a disconnect in the NRA grading system that is not only illogical, one might even consider it fraudulent.
Fraudulent or flat stupid; either one covers it.
So with this group, instead of "We'll kill you if you don't support our AGW ideas", it's "If you don't support us, YOU'RE murdering children":

Ah, Napolitano, this really is pretty simple: if she's here illegally, you throw her ass out. C'mon, how difficult is that?
Interesting things happening and questions about what Castro & Co. are up to.
Well, if you had the money wouldn't you build a submarine?
You've got some people actually worried about doing their job right, but the wording of some of this tells me TurboTax Geithner is mostly worried that if people find out just what Obama & Co.'s bullcrap is going to cost them before the election...
I've been running a test on some rust-bluing stuff, I hope to post it later today. For now, 'bye

He may or may not be a lousy artist, but at least he has to balls
As to the rest? 'Edgy' is insulting Jesus and so forth? Please.
I'm going to change the wording of this a bit
One may hope that Jim Edwards is right when he denies that "this is actually what environmentalists want." But it's bad enough that this is what they fantasize about--and that they manifestly felt no inhibition about airing such a depraved fantasy in public.
I'm going to put it more bluntly and correctly: ...have questioned the wisdom of an advertising message advocating the murder of people who disagree with it.
Because that's exactly what this was: "Anyone who doesn't go along with the plan will be murdered." ...not one of the hundreds of people involved seemed to have questioned the wisdom of an advertising message advocating the violent, sudden death of people who disagree with it." I'm guessing because they think it's a good idea, and didn't realize that it would be such a shocking admission that even a lot of AGW supporters would be disgusted by it.
We have indeed met the enemy, and they are watermelons.
I got curious and looked; yeah, the National Education Association
Surprisingly, the OEA doesn't have Alinsky recommended on their own site; however, when you search for the Oklahoma Education Association the first place you get to IS the NEA site, which then links to the OEA site, and since the Alinsky recommendation is on the NEA site...

While we're on the subject of idiots in law enforcement,
So the Effin'BI flat lied to the public. Repeatedly.
Thus came explanation number two: Yes, Mustapha was there, and yeah, maybe that means we took a Hamas supporter through a few top-secret locations, but don't look at us -- blame Chicago. Headquarters thus started referring irate callers to the Chicago field office, where {FBI Chicago flack] Mr. [Ross] Rice now labors through explanation number three: Sheikh Mustapha is our guy.
A: Since when does the EFFIN'BI HEADQUARTERS get told what to do by ANY field office?
B: They actually expect us to BELIEVE this crap?
Come again? Rice dutifully explains that if the Feebs had really thought the unindicted Hamas coconspirator "was a security risk, we wouldn't have included him." But he was included because "he is a very influential leader of the Palestinian community here and imam of the largest mosque and was a welcome addition."
A 'welcome addition' to WHAT, you idiot? You just gave a guy with direct ties to terrorists a tour of the National Counterterrorism Center AND the Effin'BI training center!
I repeat: who's giving these morons badges and FBI cards? And why do they still have them?
Is there something in a lot of police department's training that says
And then they show up and 'apologize'? Asshole, if it was an actual justifiable shooting then you have nothing to apologize for; that you show up with this tells us you KNOW your people screwed up.
As officers circled the house, they saw the back door open and thought an intruder was inside, Thomason said. At that point, Gloria allegedly growled and barked at the officers, and one of the officers fired three rounds, all of which hit the dog - at least one in the head.
Damn, a dog growls and barks at strangers in the yard? Gee, why didn't you ticket the family for having an unlicensed attack dog or something?
Who keeps giving these clowns badges? And telling them they did right after something like this?
Oh yeah, sooner or later somebody's going to get hurt;
What is ‘polar bear hunting’?
It’s a racist assault by blacks(mostly young men) on whites(mostly men of any age). Most often it involves more than one attacker on a lone victim, and usually from behind with no warning.
In the Champaign, Ill. area “the number of reports of beatings to white men in Champaign appear to be coming in quicker than police can even process them.”
The most recent attack was this past Friday night on a lone man walking home after a high school football game.
Have you heard anything on the nightly news about this racist garbage? Me neither. Gee, I wonder why?
Here's the statement from a victim that sets me off:
And he's nervous that an attacker or an innocent bystander is going to be killed by a victim who might be armed.
Well, God-DAMMIT, you think MAYBE? A little different angle, Mr. Sola, and you'd be minus an eye. People have already damn near died from this crap, and you're worried about an ATTACKER getting hurt? You moron.
Her son was admitted to Carle's intensive care unit for bleeding in the brain, multiple broken bones in his face, a concussion and multiple cuts inside his mouth from being kicked. His friend thought when Molloy's son hit his head on the curb, the attackers may have thought he was dead and ran off.
Put bluntly, you wind up with some dead attackers and it might do something to help stop this crap.
And no, I don't care if they're teenagers; they set out to beat people, possibly cripple or kill them for fun and they deserve anything that happens to them.

So they're using Predators and Hellfires to take out terrorists in Pakistan
After that statement of "Don't worry", anybody else feel the need to load a couple of extra magazines?
The first question is WHY the hell does the university have a
Second question, how much money is it costing to keep this PC idiocy going?
Third question, you're going to force him to bake cookies for a customer he doesn't want?
And the city is apparently so flush with money, has every problem so under control, that they can waste time and money on this crap? Time for some tax cuts, then.

I know the 'progressives' won't, but I wonder if the Democrats will ever get tired
The very idea of it made them angry. "I'm particularly offended by these people who want to take the nation back," said Maida Odom, who came to the rally from Philadelphia on board a bus chartered by the National Union of Hospital and Health Care Employees/ AFSCME Local 1199. "I'm saddened that people haven't risen above their bigotry. If you read the Republican Contract with America, you can see the bigotry in between every line."
Yeah, a desire for smaller government and lower taxes, how much more bigoted can you get?
Do they remove a reasoning part of their brain before they say crap like this?
If you're having trouble finding the enviroweene snuff film
As for the "Hey, it was just a joke! Just funny!" stuff,
What to do with those people, who are together threatening everybody's existence on this planet? Clearly we don't really think they should be blown up, that's just a joke for the mini-movie, but maybe a little amputating would be a good place to start?"
Ha ha. Funny. Yeah.
Want to try your amputation skills out? First, meet Ms. Benelli. Ho ho ho. That'll be funny.
Added: from Ms. Andrea:
By the way — no, it’s not satire in the great British tradition of Monty Python or even in Curtis’ own Blackadder; those shows poked fun at authority, conformity, and stupidity. This video celebrates authority: the ones who get the red button are 1) a teacher, 2) a member of upper management if not the CEO of a company, 3) a group of footballers against one lone man, and 4) a soundman at the control booth of a studio where Gillian Andersen’s character is behind glass, vulnerable to a seat rigged with explosives. Where is the authority and the conformity being mocked? Some might say that the piece mocks the stupidity of going against such an “obvious” problem as climate change, but how is killing the supposedly “stupid” people supposed to bring them around to the “correct” viewpoint? The answer is that it isn’t; the 10:10 group isn’t interested in changing anyone’s mind, only eliminating those who aren’t on board, and if you aren’t already on board that means you have already been placed in the ranks of the unredeemable. In a way this goes beyond conventional totalitarian movements, who at least seek to bring dissenters into the fold instead of just killing them at the first sign of dissent. (bold mine)

Well, we either need some Coasties on the lake
A young wife is desperately searching for her husband after he was shot in the back of the head by Mexican pirates in an ambush while they were jet-skiing on a border lake.
Search teams are combing the U.S. side of Falcon Lake in Texas for David Michael Hartley, 30, after he was apparently gunned down while his wife Tiffany fled to safety in a hail of bullets.
The couple had been jet-skiing on the lake when they were attacked.
Texas officials have been warning against activity on the lake after at least five reported run-ins with pirates this year. Previous hold-ups have never been deadly.
And I'm sure that, any time now, the Mexican government will tell us how it's our fault.
Add this to all the previous murders by illegal aliens in this country, there's quite a body count. But actually throwing out illegals and securing OUR border is disgusting and racist(though it's not when Mexico does it on THEIR southern border, is it?)
You know what's going to happen; somebody out fishing or boating is going to be attacked, shoot back, and Mexico will have fits about the dirty Americans harming poor peasants who just happened to be out fishing with AKs. And considering the people in charge in DC right now...

So J Street lied about where money was coming from,
Wonderful people at J Street, huh?
Remember the enviroweenie snuff film?
But what I could never have imagined was how quickly public disgust – even among greenies – would reach such a pitch that the campaigners would be compelled to withdraw it from the internet.
That, at any rate, is what they keep trying to do – cancelling it whenever it appears on You Tube, pulling it from their campaign website and so on.
Unfortunately their efforts are being frustrated by people on the sceptical side of the climate debate, who keep peskily insisting on reposting the video where everyone can view it. And rightly so. With No Pressure, the environmental movement has revealed the snarling, wicked, homicidal misanthropy beneath its cloak of gentle, bunny-hugging righteousness.
That's right, those fearless Guardians of Gaia realized that they were really pissing people off AND showing what they'd really like to do and have been trying to yank the video. Without success. And people found some of the money behind it:
On the other hand, if you’re outraged by the video, you might be interested to know that they also have a small number of genuine commercial sponsors: O2, Sony and Kyocera all have helped fund the 10:10 Campaign.
I suggest that the first thing to do is to make your outrage known to O2, Sony and Kyocera, suggesting that their commercial interests might not be furthered by funding murderous nazi will-fulfillment propaganda.
That sounds like a good idea.
And you ought to hit the link and read the 'apology' the organizers put out.
Speaking of sensitive to ammo,
and having lots of jams, failures to feed and fails to eject. I asked what he was feeding it; Remington bulk-pack. I had a baggie with some Federal bulk-pack hollowpoints and suggested he try them. BIG difference, it ate three full loads of them with no problems.Moral of the story: any .22 autoloader that has feeding/ejection problems, try some different ammo, as some will eat anything and some can be remarkably picky.
I'll throw in, when friend gunsmith gets in a .22 of any type that's having those problems, first thing he does is field-strip and clean the hell out of it, which solves between 50-75% of the problems; .22 ammo tends to be a bit dirty, crud builds up under the extractor hooks, in the chamber, etc., and sooner or later causes trouble.
Pic
Let's start with some "They were SMOKING!!!" idiocy
Five people called a statewide smoking ban complaint hotline, Merz said. Those complaints were sent to the city health department today for investigation. Castellini will get letter soon notifying him of the alleged violation.
Hey, you five little nannies: screw you. And the horses you fell off of onto your heads.
Moving to idiot lawsuits, and the lawyers filing them who should be disbarred for life:
After a fight with her boyfriend, a teenage girl sent him several text messages, including ones that said “Good bye … My last words …” and “If I won. I would have you. And I wouldn’t crash my car.” She then proceeded to drive her car into oncoming traffic at 85 mph, killing a 35-year-old pregnant woman and the woman’s 13-year-old son.
The teenage girl, on the other hand, survived – and is now suing the estate of the woman she killed and the construction company which built the overpass where the collision occurred. Yes, you read that correctly: a girl driving 85 mph into oncoming traffic with the intent of causing a fatal accident is suing the family of her victims. According to her lawsuit, she’s seeking unspecified damages since she’s dealing with permanent injuries, mental pain and suffering, a loss of income, and past, present and future medical expenses.
If the judge doesn't throw this out, he should be disbarred too. The moron who caused all this? Her name should be made public and she should face the ridicule she deserves.
This is just... 'stupid' is what comes to mind.
SPOKANE, Wash. -- Family of Medal of Honor recipient Vernon Baker was denied access to the White House's West Wing on Saturday, a day after the World War II hero was buried at Arlington National Cemetery.
Two things make this so effing stupid:
Baker's widow, Heidy, and grandson, Vernon Pawlik, 10, were denied entry because the boy was wearing shorts and a T-shirt. His shirt had a picture of his grandfather on it.
Violation of dress code? Well,
A White House Web site doesn't list a dress code, but the family had been invited to tour the West Wing, which houses the president's office and where casual dress is prohibited.
They've been invited back; I wonder if they'll make sure they have formal underwear on the kid?
Yeah, you can argue the 'prohibited' part; problem is, if they don't list it and the people didn't know...
Sipsey Street has the background on Lt. Baker, who was one of those people who probably needed a prescription jockstrap.
From Snarky Bytes: special considerations- out of our pockets- for politician's families:
The must-pass spending bill pending in the Senate includes a little-noticed provision that would pay the family of the late Sen. Robert C. Byrd for the salary he would have commanded in the next fiscal year.
The Senate handbook says that upon the death of a senator who had been serving in office, “in the next appropriations bill, an item will be inserted for a gratuity to be paid to the widow(er) or other next- of-kin, in the amount of one-year’s compensation.”
I'm curious; for how long have we been taxed for this crap?
A different take from the usual on the current student suicide incident:
"How could one roommate do this to another?" asked Rutgers spokesman Steve Manas.
They can do that by being an immature prick with computer skills.
Go take a look, well worth reading.
That's it for now, folks

Two things in particular jump out at me*
Four-year-old Mercedes, a Rottweiler mix, is the latest dog shot and killed by police in Prince George's County.
Do these clowns have a quota? Or a contest going on?
But Barlow was arrested and charged with multiple crimes, including insulting an officer. Police say the officer acted appropriately when shooting the dog.
"insulting an officer"? Whiskey Tango Foxtrot? Is that an actual law, or these clowns pulling an ordinance out of their ass?
Oh, hell, let's make it three:
Police spent hours Wednesday searching for the full police report. Around 10:30 p.m. Wednesday, police called ABC 7 News on the phone and confirmed that an officer did shoot and kill the dog out of self defense.
How the HELL can they manage to screw things up so bad that it takes HOURS for them to find the damned report?
The Prince George's County branch of the Maryland Stasi; carrying on the sucky tradition.
Pointed out by Rob, who has this helpful illustration:

*I mean besides these idiots with badges shooting ANOTHER dog, apparently without need.
If this is correct, we know two things:
second, the mullahs are screwed. And scared.
None of the foreign experts has so far come forward because Tehran refuses to provide precise information on the sensitive centers and systems under attack and give the visiting specialists the locations where they would need to work.(would YOU go under those conditions?) They were not told whether they would be called on to work outside Tehran or given access to affected sites to study how they function and how the malworm managed to disable them. Iran also refuses to give out data on the changes its engineers have made to imported SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) systems, mostly from Germany.
How the HELL do they expect anyone to do anything under those conditions? They're so worried about not telling any body anything that they can't even get anyone to say "I'll look at it."
The impression debkafile sources gained Wednesday, Sept. 29 from talking to European computer experts approached for aid was that the Iranians are getting desperate. Not only have their own attempts to defeat the invading worm failed, but they made matters worse: The malworm became more aggressive and returned to the attack on parts of the systems damaged in the initial attack.
Now that is a serious bug.

I have new glasses, having had to go to bifocals,
US authorities are understandably concerned that the same terrorists may also be targeting this country, since visa-free travel allows European passport holders to come to the United States on short notice.
One way to keep these terrorists out of the country is to heighten border scrutiny of Europeans and Americans who’ve traveled to Pakistan and spent months there without visible means of support. To do that, of course, border authorities need to know who’s been traveling in and out of Pakistan. Then they can use that information to flag visitors for additional questioning.
So how is the European Commission helping the US get the information it needs to protect itself from European terrorists trained in Pakistan?
It’s not. In fact, it’s campaigning to make sure we never get it.
Speaking of which,
British Muslims training with al-Qaeda were planning an armed rampage through London as part of a terrorist spectacular aimed at European capitals, sources told the Daily Telegraph.
It is thought that the group was in the final stages of its preparations for co-ordinated attacks, thought to be on the capital cities of Britain, France and Germany.
...
The CIA launched a series of attacks against militants in the area using unmanned Predator drones armed with Hellfire missiles.
A senior al-Qaeda commander from Egypt, was killed in North Waziristan, disrupting the planned attacks.
and
A terror plot to launch murderous Mumbai-style attacks in UK cities has been disrupted by the security services.
Intelligence sources revealed that militants based in Pakistan, thought to be linked to al Qaeda, were planning simultaneous strikes on London and other European cities.
The attacks would have been similar to the commando-style raids carried out in Mumbai in 2008 which killed 166 innocent people, sources said.
...
American forces have intensified missile strikes against militants in Pakistan from unmanned drones this month, suggesting they were pre-empting an attack.
The latest plot is believed to target the UK, France and Germany, and was unearthed after intelligence sharing between spy agencies from all three countries and the U.S.
So we're helping keep the attacks from happening to them, and the EU says "Screw you" about giving us information to keep it from happening here. You can guess what I have to say to the EU.
Ah, our President; school choice for him and people with lots of money, screw people who don't: "I've got to keep the union happy and that's more important than your kids."
In the fall of 2008, 216 new low-income students were notified by the Department of Education that they had been selected to receive scholarships. These kids had their winning lottery tickets in hand. Then President Barack Obama was elected with the help of the National Education Association and the American Federation of Teachers. At the behest of Obama’s union allies, Secretary of Education Arne Duncan sent letters to the 216 families informing them that he was taking back the $7,500 in scholarship money that the D.C. Opportunity Scholarship program had previously awarded them. In other words, President Barack Obama tore up their winning lottery tickets.
That's it for now, stuff to do.

Holder, you know what the clowns you helped keep on the street
“Standing up to neo-nazi groups who consistently threaten our people dead. Now most of them media blood-suckers lies at Crucifox Jews wanna talk about me killing white babies.”
“Ummm.”
“Well, let me tell you stop jumping up and down like the devils you are, creating negative press to keep our people from joining something black and progressive. Yes, I said if you want freedom, you’re gonna have to deal with this enemy the way he brings it to us.
“Ummm.”
You cannot tell a slave how to feel under the pressure of white supremacy.”
“That’s right!”
“I’m not a committer of reverse racism, I am a slave.”
“That’s right!”
“Born, brought stolen to the hills of North America. Let’s talk about the little black babies that YOU use as alligator bait.”
“Ooh, That’s Right!”
That's King Shamir Shabazz(and what kind of asshole gives himself a name like that), who you let off the hook for voter intimidation. As big a racist and bastard as you'll ever see.
Mr. Holder, you suck.
Yes! A victory for common sense
A Harford County Circuit Court judge Monday dismissed wiretapping charges against Anthony Graber, a motorcyclist who was jailed briefly after he taped a Maryland state trooper who stopped him for speeding on I-95. Graber used a camera mounted on his helmet, then posted the video on YouTube.
After which the Maryland Stasi arrested him for 'wiretapping'. And this prosecutor charged him, etc.
I wrote about this mess here, and related cases here. Disgraceful that the police went after him, disgraceful that this prosecutor went after him. And please note this part:
Graber was also charged with possessing a “device primarily useful for the purpose of the surreptitious interception of oral communications" -- referring to the video camera on his helmet.(camera sitting ON TOP of his helmet, yeah, THERE'S a 'surreptitious device for you) The judge disagreed with the prosecutor that the helmet cam was illegal, and concluded the state's argument would render illegal “almost every cell phone, Blackberry, and every similar device, not to mention dictation equipment and other types of recording devices."
Which I tend to think the Maryland Stasi and this prosecutor wouldn't have much of a problem with.
No, I'm not giving them the benefit of the doubt, not after their actions in this mess.
While waiting for it to warm up a bit more so I can put the second coat on,
What freakin' Extra-Special Agent at the EffingBI thought THIS was a good idea?
Over the weekend the FBI announced that it was investigating Joseph Iosbaker for possible connections to overseas terror groups. Iosbaker and his wife Stephanie Weiner, both anti-war activists, are suspected of activities “concerning the material support of terrorism.”
The Chicago news has been all over the demonstrations that left-wing groups have mounted in Chicago to protest the FBI’s investigation of the anti-war activists. These stories are filled with all sorts of facts, dates and names. But in a significant handful of stories one little fact seems to have escaped the notice of these hardnosed journalists. Iosbaker is an SEIU union member. And not just a rank and file member but an official.
Interesting people running the SEIU, aren't they? And interesting 'journalists' being so picky about what they report.
Speaking of union dirtbags,
…In the short term, said Trumka, the labor movement has to “recapture the moment and take control of the national conversation.” Building for the future,
we need to fundamentally restructure our economy and re-establish popular control over the private corporations which have distorted our economy and hijacked our government. That’s a long-term job, but one we should start now.Yeah, the government and leftists are just SO good at running things, right?
Well, my first inclination is "Screw you clowns; you wanted them to cross our border, you get them back. Deal with it.
Second inclination, too.
This is one prosecutor who REALLY didn't want to face the consequences of crooked actions.
Ought to be warm enough now; paint to paint, dog to threaten, etc.
About the loathsome Alan Grayson(Miserable Bastard-FL)
Incompetent babbling fools, at that.
But as far as being a lying sack of crap, he'd fit right in.
Every time some miserable excuse for a lawman such as DEA Agent Timothy McCue
Why SHOULD you trust them?
This kind of shit cannot be tolerated if you want people to have any respect for the agencies and their members, and yet go read what happened to the people involved in the coverup as opposed to what happened to the honest cop who worked against it.
When 'studying the ruling' seems to mean "How do we keep him on the job despite what he did?", why the hell should we trust them to tell the truth and do right? About anything?

The joys of our *)(#)!!! canine friends
Ok, him doing that would NOT make that noise, so went out back and- DAMMIT! YOU LITTLE BLEEP!" The little bastard had not just chewed on the bottom of the molding, he'd actually broken a piece off!
So this morning I got to go find a piece of matching molding(happily I DID find a match), get the damaged piece off, scrape the frame and trim and then prime it all, put the new trim on, second coat of prime, then later the first coat of paint. Looks great, and I informed the little shit that if I caught him nosing it again I'd do horrible things to him.
Don't know if he believed me, but he'd better.
A sort-of project gun
Cleaning the surface was pretty straightforward, as there was no pitting to remove: 220-grit wet/dry paper, used wet, to clean it up. With a piece of wood as a backer to keep the flat surfaces flat. Then borrowed friends’ bead-blasting cabinet to go over everything, giving a nice, even, clean surface. At which point a couple of things happened:
The weather turned bad, and this being something that has to be done outside(me not having a vapor cabinet or anything) it had to wait, and
I’d decided to parkerize it, and realized I didn’t have anything to plug the barrel and chambers with.
That last is important. If you parkerize the barrel without it being plugged, sure, a few rounds fired will strip the parked surface off, but the process etches the metal slightly, which means it’ll foul worse than before. The chambers, well, you don’t want anything on the chamber walls, so you have to clean the parking out and polish the walls a bit; easier to keep the stuff off in the first place. So the pieces were oiled and boxed until later.
You can use wood, I used some Delrin rod: turn an end into a nice cone on the belt sander, cut that off, do another until I had fourteen plugs, two for each chamber and the bore. While the parking solution was heating I tapped the plugs into place, then washed all the parts to be treated with Dawn soap and water and a brush, rinsed them thoroughly and hung them on stainless steel wires.
I’ll note that when I parkerized the Sistema, I used a gallon jar in a big can as a double-boiler, but the jar wasn’t long enough for this barreled frame. Friend gunsmith had an idea and I checked a kitchen supply shop and found trays for steam tables, stainless and in various sizes, and found one that was perfect size for this.
As I wrote before, the process is simple: have the solution up to temperature, take the prepared and degreased pieces and hang them in it. The solution will start bubbling around them, when it stops the process is done; take them out, hang to dry and then grease or oil. Came out pretty good.
I discovered something that may be handy to know if you try this: I found two spots on the frame that, best as I can tell, I somehow missed getting all the oil of, a neat spot on the bottom of the trigger guard and one on the left side, that didn’t park. Soon as it was cool enough to handle I took it to the sink with some #0000 steel wool. Wet the frame, put some soap on the wool and rubbed both areas. The wool took some of the parking off the surrounding area, no surprise, then I rinsed it well and put it back in the solution, and it worked; nice, even finish all over.
I also discovered just how slippery wet Delrin rod is, pulling the damned plugs out took some doing as the pliers kept slipping off. And they worked perfectly, not a speck inside the bore or chambers.
Just to remind people we don't have the only idiot politicians out there,
Glamorous French politician Rachida Dati has been forced to issue a public apology after confusing oral sex with inflation.
WTF?
Asked about overseas investment funds profiteering during a period of economic uncertainty, she said: ‘I see some of them looking for returns of 20 or 25 per cent, at a time when fellatio is almost non-existent.’
In French, fellatio – a sex act performed on a man – is ‘fellation’, which sounds a bit like inflation, which is the same word in French and English.
Well, ok then...
The Holder DOJ racism has finally broken out into the 'major media'(which has either ignored or talked it down since if first came out); nice to know the professional journalists are finally getting around to actually reporting on it.
This must have pissed Chavez off no end:
Benefiting from discontent at a deep recession, soaring violent crime and electricity shortages in South America’s top oil exporter, Democratic Unity took 62 seats, with almost all the votes counted. A Reuters source at the electoral council backed Ramon Guillermo Aveledo a principal opposition leader claim that his Democratic Unity alliance won 52 percent of the popular vote.
Chavez won a majority in parliament but opponents surpassed expectations to take over a third of seats, limiting his power and boosting their bid to stop his re-election in 2012, said independent analysts.
I hope they're ready: Chavez and his goons are really going to go after them. After he signed this, they won't be legally able to get arms for self-defense.
Kevin has a piece on the Church of the Mainstream Media and one of their current projects:
It's their job to sit below the Cardinals of the Church of State and above us proles. They are the interpreters of the Text, the tellers of Truth, and it's their job to make sure we don't hear about anything that would interfere with the way the Church says the system should be running (as long as it's their people in the red vestments)
and one example:
Stephen Colbert, a TV comedian, is called before the House Judiciary Subcommittee on Immigration, Refugees, and Border Security to "testify" in character. To perform, in other words, a comedy routine.
Google News records 1147 items on this bit of "news."
Christopher Coates, Voting Section Chief of the Department of Justice's Civil Rights Division disobeys repeated orders from his superiors to respond to a subpoena to appear before the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights and testify about the dismissal of a voter-intimidation case by his department, invokes - and I quote - "the protections of all applicable whistleblower statutes" and proceeds to tell the Commission that the Department of Justice under Barack Obama's appointees isn't interested in enforcing equal protection under the law. In fact, the Department of Justice is quite adamantly opposed to the idea.
Google News records 57 items on this story, none from a major news outlet with the exception of the Washington Post.
We peasants don't need to know this, apparently. The Church has decided. The clergy has responded.
With all their black little hearts.
Ah, some of those tolerant members of the Religion of Submission:
The persecution of Christians in Pakistan is becoming very brutal and very deadly. A Christian man in Pakistan’s Punjab province is literally fighting for his life after Muslim leaders, backed by police, burned him alive for refusing to convert to Islam while his wife was raped by police officers. [more, caution: grizzly pictures]
Now THIS is a comment to spread around, as it were:
Anything wrong with having a few Repubs willing to retch across the aisle
How stupid is Richard the Turd Daley? This stupid.
Among the reasons guns should be banned:
- Banning guns works, which is why New York, DC, & Chicago cops need guns.
- Washington DC’s low murder rate of 69 per 100,000 is due to strict gun control, and Indianapolis’ high murder rate of 9 per 100,000 is due to the lack of gun control.
- Statistics showing high murder rates justify gun control but statistics showing increasing murder rates after gun control are “just statistics.”
- The Brady Bill and the Assault Weapons Ban, both of which went into effect in 1994 are responsible for the decrease in violent crime rates, which have been declining since 1991.
- We must get rid of guns because a deranged lunatic may go on a shooting spree at any time and anyone who would own a gun out of fear of such a lunatic is paranoid.
- The more helpless you are the safer you are from criminals.
- An intruder will be incapacitated by tear gas or oven spray, but if shot with a .357 Magnum will get angry and kill you.
- A woman raped and strangled is morally superior to a woman with a smoking gun and a dead rapist at her feet.
I shall now leave you to your own devices(which in Dick's case could get messy), as I need a board and some bread. Not for the same purposes.
I'm tempted to say that a lot of people in Congress need to be reminded
I wonder how some of these clowns would react to signs in businesses saying "Rep. Kickback, if you do this, you will never again be welcome in this place", for instance? Maybe that fine old custom of shunning? All kinds of possibilities come to mind.

More ref the Stuxnet worm
Iran has suffered a series of technical setbacks to its nuclear programme in the past 12 months, triggering suggestions that western intelligence agencies are sabotaging its likely ambition to build an atomic weapon. As Iran continues to defy international sanctions, western security analysts say the country is making progress towards the ability to test a nuclear bomb in the next few years.
But a series of recent reverses, notably affecting Iran's ability to enrich uranium, is prompting debate over whether the programme is being undermined by sabotage, sanctions, or the incompetence of the regime's scientists.
In the past year, a dramatic reduction has taken place in the number of centrifuges enriching uranium at the regime's nuclear plant in Natanz.
In May 2009, the International Atomic Energy Agency said there were 4,920 operational centrifuges. Twelve months later the IAEA stated that Iran was running only 3,936, a reduction of 20 per cent.
Iran also appears to be having difficulties on other fronts. Ivan Oelrich, of the Federation of American Scientists, said the centrifuges were only working at 20 per cent efficiency. The latest IAEA report says that 4,592 centrifuges are installed at Natanz - but are sitting idle and doing nothing at all.
Well isn't that interesting?
Yes, it is.
This is just bleeping wonderful,
President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's six nights in New York featured a secret sit-down with militant minister Louis Farrakhan, heckling in a hotel bar, and a fear of being rubbed out that bordered on paranoia.
The president shared a hush-hush meal with Farrakhan and members of the New Black Panther Party Tuesday at the Warwick Hotel on West 54th Street.
Well, isn't this interesting?
Which is what makes one particular item on the group’s discussion agenda so tremendously significant. See if you can spot the one I mean:
The 58th Bilderberg Meeting will be held in Sitges, Spain 3 – 6 June 2010. The Conference will deal mainly with Financial Reform, Security, Cyber Technology, Energy, Pakistan, Afghanistan, World Food Problem, Global Cooling, Social Networking, Medical Science, EU-US relations.
Well, isn't THAT interesting?
The next few years are going to be very interesting. Watch the global power elite squirming to reposition itself as it slowly distances itself from Anthropogenic Global Warming (”Who? Us? No. We never thought of it as more than a quaint theory…”), and tries to find new ways of justifying green taxation and control. (Ocean acidification; biodiversity; et al). You’ll notice sly shifts in policy spin. In Britain, for example, Chris “Chicken Little” Huhne’s suicidal “dash for wind” will be re-invented as a vital step towards “energy security.” There will be less talk of “combatting climate change” and more talk of “mitigation”. You’ll hear enviro-Nazis like Obama’s Science Czar John Holdren avoid reference to “global warming” like the plague, preferring the more reliably vague phrase “global climate disruption.”
And you know what the worst thing is? If we allow them to, they’re going to get away with it.
Our duty as free citizens over the next few years is to make sure that they don’t.
Ran across an old poster the other day
A motorcycle cannot fall over without an audience
The odd of it falling over are directly proportional to the sizes of the audience and the owner's ego(newness and expense of bike may also factor in)
Motorcycles are to yellow bugs as aircraft carriers were to kamikaze pilots
You will not need to hit the bathroom until after you put on the rainsuit
The fact that your keys are in your pants pocket will only become apparent after you've put your gloves on
Quick fixes are so named for how long they stay fixed
The only part you really need will be the only one on permanent backorder
Nothing is harder to start than a used motorcycle being shown to a prospective buyer
You will never have a flat tire on the road unless you leave the flat kit at home
Universal-fit accessories are so named because they actually fit no bike in the known universe
Well, I think it's good news, though I'm sure
The Iranian Ministry has stated that some 30000 industrial computers have been infected by Stuxnet. One of the main operations done by Stuxnet is that it extracts vital information from these systems and then sends it somewhere abroad. Iran has termed this virus as a spy virus, as it is deploying vital data to other countries. On the other hand it is said, a similar attack has been reported from Iran’s latest nuclear power plant facility, but these reports have not yet been confirmed.Three-thousand industrial computers … what industries and how extensive the damage is Iran isn’t saying. But we can hazard the guess that most of it is militarily related. Besides the ability to send information abroad, “Stuxnet” is reportedly able to commandeer computers and direct them to destroy what they are managing. If true, this changes the face of warfare.
If they're admitting that, no telling how bad the damage actually is. Little further along it's suggested getting the thing into their systems was an inside job; I have to wonder. If the Israelis built it for the purpose, well, we're talking the people who managed to get a top terrorists' backup cell phone and put a bomb in it, then hex his primary so he had to use the backup, and boom; their worried about literal national survival, that'd definitely give you an extra push to put things together. In any case, it's causing the Iranian government fits.
Couple of days ago there was a news blurb about 'anti-war activists' having their homes raided, etc.; here's a bit more on that:
Before the FARC terror leader was killed he met with a leader of the radical leftist RNC Welcoming Committee who travelled to Colombia for the meeting. Reyes was responsible for kidnapping Americans and trafficking drugs to pay for terror. Like the Marxist Reyes, RNC activists also planned to kidnap Republican delegates in St. Paul in 2008.
Ray Robison at The Examiner reported on the links between the RNC Welcoming Committee activists and the Marxist FARC terrorists in the Colombian jungles.
...
The website ProtestRNC2008.org carries a press release which sheds light on the activities of the RNC Welcoming Committee. The online notification posted June 8th, 2007 by a woman named Jessica Sundin calls for a meeting at the University of Minnesota Student Union Center co-hosted by the RNC Welcoming Committee. Sundin is a clerk at the University of Minnesota. Another press release was posted by Sundin in the name of the RNC Welcoming Committee after the convention began.Yeah. Right. Further along we find
Ms. Sundin told the Pioneer Press outlet TwinCities.com that she had discussions with the anarchists “but only to make sure they don’t disrupt the march.” Sundin claimed “They’ve made a commitment not to interfere”.
Videos of the speeches are on Google. These websites indicate that Walker, the union leader and Sundin, a union member coordinated for the RNC Welcoming Committee and that it was open knowledge at the time that it was an anarchist group. The “fight back” website also cites a speech in 2004 by union President Walker about a trade dispute with U of M in which she stated that the union should use “any means necessary”. In 2005 she was served with a summons for obstructing legal process but the charges were dismissed for her role in a campus protest.
In other words, she was in it up over her ears. Including the meeting with narcoterrorists described at the start:
In one article on the “fight back” website Sundin describes a trip to Columbia to meet with the now deceased infamous FARC commander Raul Reyes as a representative of the “US solidarity activists”. Reyes was a Communist guerrilla fighter known for cocaine trafficking and kidnapping Americans. Saint Paul Police have alleged a kidnapping plot by the anarchists aimed at the RNC.
And, not surprising, this clown Sundin got a warm wet feeling about this dirtbag:
Sundin described the FARC leader who was convicted of the murders of over a dozen Columbian police officers as such “I enjoyed his warmth and humor. He had a friendly, round face, a quick smile, and surprisingly gentle hands.” (Gee, I wonder how she came up with THAT description?) Of his death she wrote “The criminal Colombian government and their U.S. accomplices should be called to pay for this cowardly and criminal attack.” The Republican Party strongly supports the government of Columbia in its’ fight against the FARC. Some experts consider anarchist groups to be based on communist ideals and fronts for communist activities.
So she's a union clown, she works with anarchists and terrorists, and the Colombian government whacking a terrorist is- of course!- 'cowardly and criminal'. Nice people in the unions and 'anti-war' groups, huh?
Polish Neo-Nazis Discover That They’re Jewish. You just can't get better headlines than that.
Damn good pilots and a damn good machine.
Well, when you swim in waters with an apex predator...
What, did somebody in the Aussie government forget to polish his portrait or something?
Without further comment,

Thanks, Theo
I need breakfast. Later, folks.
The SEIU: Voter Fraud A Specialty
“The first thing we started to do was look at houses with more than six voters in them" Engelbrecht said, because those houses were the most likely to have fraudulent registrations attached to them. "Most voting districts had 1,800 if they were Republican and 2,400 of these houses if they were Democratic . . .
"But we came across one with 24,000, and that was where we started looking."
It was Houston's poorest and predominantly black district, which has led some to accuse the group of targeting poor black areas. But Engelbrecht rejects that, saying, "It had nothing to do with politics. It was just the numbers.”
Yeah, but you uncovered fraud and 'RACIST!' is one of the standard accusations Democrats and progressives use to try to shut you up.
“Vacant lots had several voters registered on them. An eight-bed halfway house had more than 40 voters registered at its address,” Engelbrecht said. “We then decided to look at who was registering the voters."
Guess who?
Most of the findings focused on a group called Houston Votes, a voter registration group headed by Steve Caddle, who also works for the Service Employees International Union. Among the findings were that only 1,793 of the 25,000 registrations the group submitted appeared to be valid. The other registrations included one of a woman who registered six times in the same day; registrations of non-citizens; so many applications from one Houston Voters collector in one day that it was deemed to be beyond human capability; and 1,597 registrations that named the same person multiple times, often with different signatures.
Caddle says "mistakes were made" as his excuse; if you're dumb enough to believe all this was 'mistakes', I have a bridge across Lake Lawtonka I'd like to sell you.
You really ought to read the whole thing, as they say. I'm going to borrow one more part:
The outcome of the efforts grew in importance the day after Vasquez made his announcement. On the morning of Aug. 27, a three-alarm fire destroyed almost all of Harris County’s voting machines, throwing the upcoming Nov. 2 election into turmoil. While the cause wasn’t determined, the $40 million blaze, according to press reports, means election officials will be focused on creating a whole new voting system in six weeks. Just how they do it will determine how vulnerable the process becomes.
Isn't that just effing AMAZING? Massive vote fraud uncovered and right after that the voting machines are all destroyed, creating a whole NEW set of openings for fraud! Amazing coincidence, isn't it?
Again, if you believe that...
