Interesting piece on the subject of trans insanity
What you need to understand—as Roberts argues in his first book, Gay Shame: The Rise of Gender Ideology and the New Homophobia—is ‘that there was a prominent streak of gay activism that was absolutely insane’. And, despite major successes borne of both a mature response to the AIDS crisis and opposition to Section 28, the bonkers quality never went away. That said, he admits he didn’t expect ‘the gay rights movement transmogrifying into a cross between the Church of Scientology, Heathers: the Musical and Act 4 of The Crucible’.
Used to work with a guy who I've described as "Doesn't flame, but definitely sparkles at times" who had about the same opinion. Worth reading. His special hate was for the adult males, including in their 40's and 50's, who chased teenagers, including underage. Let's say his idea for how to treat the latter including ceasing to use oxygen.

When the truth is 'whatever helps the cause', you can't trust the bastards
Singer Sam Smith has made similarly ridiculous claims about being a pioneering gay voice in pop music, seemingly unaware of the careers of those little-known, shunned artists Elton John, Freddie Mercury and George Michael.
Outside the sphere of pop music, trans activists are now being given the credit for leading the gay-rights movement. Think of the oft-repeated claim that ‘a black trans woman threw the first brick at the Stonewall riot’ in New York in 1969. In truth, the drag artist in question, by his own account, didn’t actually arrive at the Stonewall Inn until several hours later. Similarly, Dublin Pride recently photoshopped the slogan ‘trans rights are human rights’ on to a placard in a photograph of a gay-rights protest in 1983 – a feat worthy of Stalin.
Well, a lot of these asshats admire Stalin, so...

Bud Light & Co. have not lost nearlyenough money
And yes, there's a lot more at the post.
A bunch of people are selling the chant as satire; put it along with all the rest, and if it is they're idiots. If you have naked people on public streets parading in front of kids, twerking and all, and you start chanting "We're here, we're queer, and we're coming for your children!", people will take you at your word. Especially after all the shit that's been coming out of schools. And that leads to bad things.

First, how damned stupid do you have to be...
Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel reportedly said Wednesday that "drag queens make everything better" and that there should be "a drag queen for every school" during an event in Lansing.
Nessel, who was the first openly gay person elected to statewide office in Michigan, made the comments during a civil rights conference while speaking out against what she describes as efforts to divide Americans, Craig Mauger of The Detroit News reported on Twitter.
Well, congratulations, dumbass, because you just did a LOT of dividing. Seriously, you didn't think a lot of parents, and a fair number of gay people as well, just might object to such bullshit?

If you think this crap is proper for kids to be receiving in class,
The teacher played several videos for her 8-year-old students that addressed “queer kid stuff,” “pride parades,” “love is love,” and a lesson on Stonewall. One of the videos (below), called Talking to Kids About Pride Month, was pretty disturbing.
...
The most alarming video that we would like to discuss is “Talking To Kids About Pride Month” with Jessi Cruickshank. In this video, we see the normalization of an adult speaking to children about sexual desires. It desensitizes children to the act of adults talking to them about sexual topics. In the video, the host says, “Jodie Foster is a woman, and she made me question my sexuality when I was a child because I liked her so much. And she was nude in the film ‘Nell.’ Not that I remember watching it several times as a child.”
This video is intended to instruct children about appropriate interpersonal relationships – and what did the child learn? The child learned that it is okay for an adult to talk to a child about watching nude people in movies, and having it affect their sexual desires and sexual arousal. This is normalizing behavior – a known tactic of sexual groomers – that should be a warning sign to parents and children. The behavior observed here is adults talking to children about sexual desires and sexual attraction.
Remember, it's not just some teachers and school boards, it's school administrators supporting/turning a blind eye to it, and when caught either not responding or playing "This does not meet the standards we set for ourselves, etc."
Now throw in the 'transgender' bullshit which is literally being pushed by some teachers, and school 'counselors' either directly involved in pushing it or too scared to say anything. Add in some parents who're so PC on the subject they're developmentally disabled. Stir in chickenshit politicians who'll support ANYTHING that keeps their leftist base happy, and we've got mass child abuse.
I shall now see if the PT exercises will burn off some of the pissed-off this has stirred up.

There needs to be a serious application of tar and feathers in these schools
The rest of the sessions involved issues such as “how to pleasure their gay partners.”
Middle school girls from Humboldt (pop.: 4,690) had the opportunity to learn “how to sew fake testicles into their underwear in order to pass themselves off as boys.”
One speaker wore a dress made out of condoms to which could be “used as needed.” . . .
And the real problem? Parents who object to this(of course).
Nate Monson, executive director of Iowa Safe Schools, said parents who worry about middle school kids hearing about anal sex with strap-ons and analingus are “disgusting.”
“It’s incredibly frustrating that adults are being the problem and being the bully,” Monson told the Des Moines NBC affiliate. “
Got that? Have a problem with your daughter being told how to use a strap-on, and you're now a bully. Apparently they couldn't figure out how to call them 'racists', so the new club of 'bully' is used.
Know what's going on in your kids/grandkids school?

Good piece on the "Let's destroy anyone suffering from BadThink!" crap
But I was wrong.
...
I find myself at odds now with a lot of proponents of same sex marriage who appear to be walking the charred battlefield of the cultural war and shooting the wounded.
I apologize for thinking this was about only equal treatment under the law. I apologize for dismissing conservatives' fears that this slippery slope would lead to de facto banishment from various sectors of the public square.
I thought people just wanted to be left alone. I was wrong.
For many, they wanted forced conversions.
As such, it's only fair we ask where it ends.
Well, if the idiots have any say, it'll end with anyone not agreeing with them in every way being driven out of business, fired from jobs, thrown out of school, and with their personal life destroyed.
Assisted by journalists like Alyssa Marino and Alix Bryan.

Tolerance, Progressive Homosexual-Activist style
Apparently a church teaching homosexual behavior is a sin is now 'lobbying to have freedoms and rights taken away'.
You can argue whether or not churches should have tax exemptions at all, go right ahead. Pushing the .gov to use them as a club to enforce GoodThink is a whole 'nother matter.
SOP for the greenies, then.
Again, the California paradox: those who did the most to cancel water projects and divert reservoir water to pursue their reactionary nineteenth-century dreams of a scenic, depopulated, and fish-friendly environment enjoy lifestyles predicated entirely on the fragile early twentieth-century water projects of the sort they now condemn.
Demonstration of why I consider most media to be untrustworthy journalists, and politicians generally should be considered guilty until proven innocent:
Las Vegas journalist Jon Ralston, who has observed Reid over the latter’s 30-year career in the Senate, has had enough. He revealed that he had written a harshly critical column in 2012 about Reid’s “ruthless, Machiavellian politics” in response to the senator’s accusation against Romney but saw it spiked by the Las Vegas Sun because its editor wanted to protect Reid.
...
Senator Reid’s Democratic colleagues have joined in the shaming. Senators Barbara Boxer of California, Ed Markey of Massachusetts, and Sheldon Whitehouse of Rhode Island sent a letter in February to over 100 companies and think tanks demanding they reveal their ties to any efforts to argue against climate-change policies.
It's why a lot of these bastards do what they do: they know the pet media will protect them. If they thought they'd actually be called on it, they'd be a lot more careful.
As to trusting federal agencies, say, the IRS for example,
A lawyer who worked in the IRS ethics office was disbarred Thursday by the District of Columbia Court of Appeals, which concluded she misappropriated a client’s funds from a case she handled in private practice, broke a number of ethics rules and showed “reckless disregard for the truth” in misleading a disbarment panel looking into the matter.
The lawyer, Takisha Brown, reportedly had bragged that she would never be punished because her boss would protect her, but an IRS spokesman said Wednesday that she was no longer an employee at the agency.
Gee, wonder why she thought she'd be protected...
On the same subject, when the agencies lie and hide stuff from their own IG, why should we trust them? At all? On anything?

To see the assholes of this administration calling Netanyahu
Where's Obama? Running away fast from ever using the word 'terrorist'.
Wow.
My name is Rivka Edelman, and I am the product of same-sex parenting.
Recently I published an essay on Public Discourse about the ruthless misogyny that pervades LBGT culture. I pointed out it that it can and will victimize women and children with impunity and then, in America’s narcissistic fugue, get hailed as brave and heroic.
Since my essay was published, there have been hundreds, maybe thousands, of posts calling me a liar or trying to shame, discredit, intimidate, and threaten me. Read this for details.
Sounds like she and others like her have definitely found themselves over the target. And they'd better have good armor.
Speaking of, looks like since trying to force churches to turn over records and sermons wasn't enough, the Mayor of Houston has decided to lie about Texas DPS. Yeah, that'll go over well.

If I were Israel, it'd take a while to word a proper response
U.N. High Commissioner for Human Rights Navi Pillay made the charge this week, declaring that Israel should share its defense capabilities, known as the Iron Shield, with the same Hamas-sponsored terrorists whose missiles it deflects on a regular basis.
...
Not satisfied with pillorying the Israeli offensive against surrounding enemies, Pillay also severely criticized the U.S. for providing assistance to the besieged nation.
“They have not only provided the heavy weaponry which is now being used by Israel in Gaza,” she concluded, “but they’ve also provided almost $1 billion in providing the ‘Iron Domes’ to protect the Israelis from rocket attacks.”She lamented the fact that no similar “protection has been provided to Gazans against the shelling.”
I cannot understand the thought processes of these idiots. Is it simply hatred of Jews, or some twisted "If you keep them from killing your children, you're a criminal" stupidity?
I think Lawdog had it right in his "If I were elected President" piece:
Since I like to copper my bets, I'd draw an advance on my first months paycheck, buy a truckload of dynamite and order the Commandant of the Marine Corp to de-infestate the UN building.
While the Marines are chucking UN politicos off the pier, I'd be personally setting charges in the UN basement.
At lunchtime, I'd have a cheeseburger and fries and watch the UN building go up like a Roman candle.
I would add one thing: ...are chumming the waters and then chucking UN politicos off the pier... Yeah, might upset the sharks digestion; they'd get over it.
Speaking of stupid, there's Queers for Palestine. Which is a level of dumb that's hard to describe.

Black Panthers intimidating white voters? No problem.
Manhattan U.S. Attorney Preet Bharara stated: “As we have long said, this Office and the FBI take a zero tolerance approach to corruption of the electoral process. If, as alleged, the defendant directed others to make contributions to a Senate campaign and reimbursed them, that is a serious violation of federal campaign finance laws.”
FBI Assistant Director-in-Charge George Venizelos stated: “Trying to influence elections through bogus campaign contributions is a serious crime. Today, Mr. D’Souza finds himself on the wrong side of the law. The Federal Election Campaign Act was written to limit the influence of money in elections; the FBI is fiercely committed to enforcing those laws to maintain the integrity of our democratic process.”
And we can trust the EffingBI, can't we?
Stop laughing so hard, dammit, this is serious.
Of COURSE the LGBT community is silent; the lesbians are off the hook and a male is getting screwed.
Wendy Davis(Lying Politician-TX) catches hell for her supporters acting like assholes; suddenly she's all upset about it.
Still stands by the lies, of course.
Democrats gather to whine about income inequality. At a hotel charging $695/night.
Kind of like fundraisers for equality/caring/etc. that run $10k/plate.
Speaking of that hive of scum and villainy known as San Francisco,
A former high-ranking San Francisco government employee convicted of felony possession of child pornography will continue to receive his government pension because, according to city regulations, evidence of “moral turpitude” is required to revoke a pension yet viewing violent kiddie porn does not qualify as moral turpitude.
As reported here in the Tatler, Larry Brinkin, a prominent San Francisco Human Rights Commissioner and nationally known gay rights advocate, was arrested in 2012 for possessing and possibly distributing videos and images of babies being raped by adult men. Because of Brinkin’s “iconic” stature in the community as the person who pioneered “domestic partnership” laws nationwide, supporters at the time accused the police of framing him with false charges. But the evidence was so overwhelming that, after 18 months of legal wrangling, on Tuesday, January 21, Brinkin pled guilty to felony possession of child pornography, with various other more serious charges dropped as part of the plea bargain. He will serve just six months in jail and thereafter have to register as a sex offender.
Also, note that horrible sentence: SIX MONTHS IN JAIL. For possessing and possibly distributing videos and images of babies being raped by adult men. With other more serious charged dropped(gee, I wonder why... maybe his 'iconic status'?).
Not a chance I will go to that city and put money in their pocket. For any reason. I don't give a rats ass what the 'cultural attractions' are.
Speaking of Californicated and disgusting politicians, in 'honor' of that idiot senator, you too can now have an official Ghost Gun!
It should be noted they still have the Pew lowers for three more days
Along with the PC bullshit and classes that often are bullshit, why else might more guys be saying "No" to college? Here's some reasons why.

Another piece from Steyn on the current thought-crime bullshit
Why slimy bastards like Mitch McConnell should be removed from office. Preferably by a window.
Mitch McConnell, Senate Republican leader, confessed to big business bureaucrats that he and other Establishment Republicans want to remain their link to government money and favors. According to a Wall Street Journal story (December 16), he asked them to open their wallets lest his kind be overwhelmed — not by Democrats, but by those smelly little Tea Party conservatives — the real threats to the government spending and regulations by which big business thrives.
The confession was almost that forthright: “said one person at the McConnell fundraiser, held at a Capitol Hill townhouse. ‘The main message he was pushing was: Get involved, mainly to teach those who are primarying incumbents that it is not helpful to run against incumbents who are champions for the industry.’”

Schumer disagreed, saying the identity of prepaid cell purchasers would be kept private by phone companies in the same way the identities of regular cell and landline phone owners are protected."
Excuse me, but I had to laugh hysterically; yeah, just like the NSA won't listen to our calls or read our e-mail... And the standard excuse for screwing with privacy just a little bit more: "We are living in a time when unfortunately our public safety rquires small gives by everyone," Verizon spokesman Jeffrey Nelson said.
Screw you, Nelson.
So, BATFEIEIO suffers from
low morale,
bad leadership,
abuse of agents,
abuse of authority,
a culture of violations of law,
illegal attacks on whistleblowers,
supervisors engaging in illegal activities(Gunwalker, perjury, etc.),
And the answer to raising morale?

Put a friggin' store with ATF trinkets in the DC headquarters...
Oh, Obama is now trying to cover lying(repeated, deliberately, with malice) with another lie: ...what we said was you can keep it if it hasn’t changed since the law passed.
That is such a flat, open, public, deliberate lie I'm kind of surprised that even Obama can look anyone in the eye and speak it.
Because that black guy was obviously some kind of racist; he's a Republican, after all.
Speaking of bigotry, Orson Scott Card is against homosexual marriage, and doesn't approve of homosexuality; therefore
And note the goal post shifting going on here - not supporting gay marriage == homophobia == hating gays == racism (?) == advocating violence against gays == being a monster in human form.
Guy named Dick Metcalf writes at Guns & Ammo magazine; and is using the gun bigots understanding of 'well-regulated'. Among other things.
I don't think this is going to help their sales.
Well, according to this the Obama team is worried about what happens if they actually get the website working and lots more people find out how badly they're going to get screwed by Obamacare. The fun just keeps coming, doesn't it?
Speaking of which, I wonder what the people always whining about Stupid Party and crony capitalism will think of the bailouts for insurance companies in Dear Leader's plan?
I think this is worth noting a again: Parent has a problem with kids' school assignment, contacts teacher about it. And then
After contacting his daughter’s teacher, Barry heard back from the school’s principal. After a discussion, a friend of Barry’s relayed a voicemail she received from another teacher named Cydnee Cohen.
Cohen, who is also the president of the local chapter of the teacher’s union — the East Pembrook Education Association, which is part of the Pennsylvania State Education Association (PSEA) — said on the voicemail, “We’re having some problems with a parent in our school district and on his [Facebook] page you are one of his friends … but I would like to know, some of it seems like he is a neo-Nazi.”
Cohen then says, “Maybe he is Jewish, I don’t know.”
After it was confirmed that Barry is, in fact, Jewish, Cohen sent text messages to the mutual friend which read “he went to bishop mcdevitt!!” and “he is tea party right wing!” Bishop McDevitt is a nearby private Catholic high school.
Wonderful sort to be teaching kids, isn't she?

Now that it's a Approved Media News Source reporting it,
60 Minutes had an absolutely devastating report on the Obama administration’s failure to protect Ambassador Chris Stevens and other Americans in Benghazi.
I’ll post the video when available (update – available and added), but the heart of the report is that there were clear and unequivocal warnings which were ignored, and the Obama administration lied about these warnings after the attack.
Hillary and Obama blamed a video and stood by the caskets perpetuating that lie.
And remember how almost all of the media obsessed with Mitt Romney’s statement over Benghazi, and colluded to ask Romney gotcha questions while downplaying and obfuscating what really happened.
60 Minutes said its investigation took almost a year.
"How dare you step off the reservation and tell the truth!"
And who's right in the middle of it?
The New York Times Magazine commissioned, then canceled, a piece from Jimenez in 2004. (The editor claims it wasn’t any good.) But ABC’s “20/20” ran with a story Jimenez produced, which won two major broadcasting awards. Yet the Southern Poverty Law Center’s Hatewatch blog recently accused Jimenez of serving as a lapdog of “right-wing pundits, radio hosts and bloggers.”
Speaking of telling the truth, does this mean NBC is now a 'discredited right-wing news source', or will they just be ignored(after getting threats from the White House)?
None of this should come as a shock to the Obama administration. The law states that policies in effect as of March 23, 2010 will be “grandfathered,” meaning consumers can keep those policies even though they don’t meet requirements of the new health care law. But the Department of Health and Human Services then wrote regulations that narrowed that provision, by saying that if any part of a policy was significantly changed since that date -- the deductible, co-pay, or benefits, for example -- the policy would not be grandfathered.
Buried in Obamacare regulations from July 2010 is an estimate that because of normal turnover in the individual insurance market, “40 to 67 percent” of customers will not be able to keep their policy. And because many policies will have been changed since the key date, “the percentage of individual market policies losing grandfather status in a given year exceeds the 40 to 67 percent range.”
That means the administration knew that more than 40 to 67 percent of those in the individual market would not be able to keep their plans, even if they liked them.
Which means, again, Obama lied. Over and over and over.
Talked to a Soldier a while back who told me about various amounts of bullshit in the unit he'd been transferred to, and "The colonel keeps asking why their reenlistment rate sucks." Today ran across this:
Learned Helplessness in the Military, Part 1 and Part 2.
Makes you wonder how many good people the Army has lost because they hit the point of being unable to tolerate any more of of this shit.

Anna Shireman-Grabowski, you're just a spoiled brat demanding attention
The giveaway:
The emails filling my inbox indicate that this was not a productive way to start a dialogue about American imperialism. Nor did I imagine that it would be. Please understand that I am grappling with my complicity in the overwhelming legacy of settler colonialism. Part of this process for me is honoring the feelings and wishes of people who find themselves on the other side of this history….
Translation: "This is about ME and my FEELINGS!"
By the way, the tribe says you're full of shit. And your fake Indian co-conspirator, too.
“We didn’t know anything about this and if we had we certainly wouldn’t have sanctioned it,” he said in a statement to The Addison Independent.
… Steven said there’s no evidence that the field is an Abenaki burial site. And even if it was, the flags would be a welcome presence.
“Our burial sites honor our warriors and their bravery,” said Stevens. “Putting flags in the earth to honor bravery would not be disrespectful.”

I'm pissed this morning,
Another university with a "We believe in free speech, as long as it's approved speech" attitude; if they do this I hope FIRE sues their ass off.
Elizabeth Warren’s daughter Amelia Warren Tyagi is leaving nothing to chance in the 2012 election for her mother. Warren Tyagi, the chair of the George Soros funded Demos Foundation, has bankrolled, through Demos, former members of ACORN in their pursuit to have the Commonwealth’s welfare agency perform a voter registration drive. The Boston Herald has the story, although they missed the Warren familial connection….
That's 'missed' as in 'ignored completely'.
Hey, why should ATF obey laws or procedures? They've got a DoJ and politicians who'll protect them.
Additionally, the in-place rules being disregarded were implemented as a direct result of a scathing 2004 Office of Inspector General audit that found Bureau field offices recklessly out of control in establishing and conforming to standards, making the recent violations examples of negligent or deliberate indifference to mandated corrective actions.
The front of her shirt had the other name for the same group, “Queers for Palestine.”
Q.U.I.T./Queers for Palestine is an ultra-radical lesbian political group that protests against the only nation in the Middle East where gays live freely with full rights, and in favor of a culture that outlaws homosexuality and violently persecutes gays. Are they insane? Yes. Did I find it a bit unnerving that such a political stance is considered so “normal” in Berkeley that people just stroll around on an average day wearing “Queers for Palestine” shirts? Yep.
Which do you think will happen first: the complete financial implosion of the state, or the big quake?
The gun bigots have another plan to effectively ban semi-autos.
Yes, the Obamites are even more disgusting bastards than you may have thought.
Dammit. Things to do, more outrage to stew over. Back later.

Yeah, there are some slight problems with their 'support' for gays
...
As an exercise in sheer political muscle, it’s impressive. But, if you’re a feminist or a gay or any of the other house pets in the Democrat menagerie, you might want to look at Rahm Emanuel’s pirouette, and Menino’s coziness with Islamic homophobia. These guys are about power, and right now your cause happens to coincide with their political advantage. But political winds shift. Once upon a time, Massachusetts burned witches. Now it grills chicken-sandwich homophobes. One day it’ll be something else. Already in Europe, in previously gay-friendly cities like Amsterdam, demographically surging Muslim populations have muted leftie politicians’ commitment to gay rights, feminism, and much else. It’s easy to cheer on the thugs when they’re thuggish in your name. What happens when Emanuel’s political needs change?

An awful lot of "I LOVE Obama! but not what he does"
Along with, since so many Obama staffers so like communism, the Little Blue Book.
Five of the new Obamacare taxes coming if this mess isn't stopped, including
1. The ObamaCare Medical Device Manufacturing Tax
This 2.3 percent tax on medical device makers will raise the price of (for example) every pacemaker, prosthetic limb, stent, and operating table. Can you remind us, Mr. President, how taxing medical devices will reduce the cost of health care? The tax is particularly destructive because it is levied on gross sales and even targets companies who haven’t turned a profit yet.
These are often small, scrappy companies with less than 20 employees who pioneer the next generation of life-prolonging devices. In addition to raising the cost of health care, this $20 billion tax over the next ten years will not help the country’s jobs outlook, as the industry employs nearly 400,000 Americans. Several companies have already responded to the looming tax by cutting research and development budgets and laying off workers.
Wanna drive a tank? Over things?
What moron came up with the idea of 'warning shots' with beanbags against armed smugglers(“Disarmed by the very bureaucrats that armed their killers.”)? And suddenly there's a reward for the bad guys? AFTER the contempt vote and so forth? Really makes you wonder what all is being hidden behind the 'executive privilege' crap.
I've written before about the idiocy of the Queers for Palestine clowns; here's some more of what they're enabling.

And these are the 'progressive' types we're supposed to
And what the hell is a attaché of important gay people? They have diplomatic immunity to be assholes?
Saturday, November 26, 2011
I guess 'Queers for Palistine' was sufficiently stupid and progressive
Schulman, it should be said, is making something of a hobby of being a leading member of what has to be the rather small club of “Jewish lesbians for Palestine.”
That level of stupid SHOULD hurt. The gentleman made her an offer:
Professor Schulman, if you happen to read this, I have an offer for you: I will pay for your ticket to Israel and accommodations, if you will agree to live among your “progressive” allies as an openly gay Jewish woman in Gaza for one month. But my offer is a bit disingenuous, because it’s very unlikely that I would need to pay out for more than a one-way ticket, and a few days of accommodations.
Speaking of things touching on the Religion of Submission,
A Muslim Brotherhood rally in Cairo's most prominent mosque Friday turned into a venomous anti-Israel protest, with attendants vowing to "one day kill all Jews."
Some 5,000 people joined the rally, called to promote the "battle against Jerusalem's Judaization." The event coincided with the anniversary of the United Nations' partition plan in 1947, which called for the establishment of a Jewish state.
Yeah. Because Jews had nothing to do with Jerusalem before 1947...
And I notice they didn't restrict themselves to 'all Jews in the Mideast' or something, they said ALL Jews.
I'd call the War on Drugs a total failure solely because of crap like this:
Several NYPD officers have alleged that in some precincts, police officers are asked to meet quotas for drug arrests. Former NYPD narcotics detective Stephen Anderson recently testified in court that it's common for cops in the department to plant drugs on innocent people to meet those quotas -- a practice for which Anderson himself was then on trial.
...
Asset forfeiture not only encourages police agencies to use resources and manpower on drug crimes at the expense of violent crimes, it also provides an incentive for police agencies to actually wait until drugs are on the streets before making a bust. In a 1994 study reported in Justice Quarterly, criminologists J. Mitchell Miller and Lance H. Selva watched several police agencies delay busts of suspected drug dealers in order to maximize the cash the department could seize. A stash of illegal drugs isn't of much value to a police department. Letting the dealers sell the drugs first is more lucrative.
Earlier this year, Nashville's News 5 ran a report on how police in Tennessee are pulling over suspected drug dealers and seizing their cash along I-40, often without bothering to make an arrest. The station combed through police reports showing that officers spent 10 times as long policing the side of the interstate where a drug runner would be leaving after he sold his supply -- and thus would be flush with sizable amounts of cash -- than on the side where he was likely to be flush with drugs. The police were letting the drugs be sold in order to get their hands on the cash.
This is just as much corruption as if the cops were getting cash from dealers to look the other way. Worse, because in that case the harm is more restricted; the WoD shit is hurting everyone.
When new rules refer to people as 'units' rather than patients, we're on a VERY bad path.
So what’s Conaway’s side of things, as a committed anti-gunner and as a beneficiary of being well-connected—aside from denial?
From his lawyer:
"When you have a situation where you have a Jewish victim and an African-American male, you have things happen differently than if it happened to be a regular case," he said. He suggested that "perhaps because of their commonality in their religion," State's Attorney Gregg L. Bernstein was handling the Conaway investigation differently
If I were the SA, I'd be jumping on this with both feet, and demanding the state bar nail the guy: accusing the SA of favorable treatment of one side seems a rather nasty thing.
And last, some thoughts on the Newly Released Climaquiddick: Part II e-mails, including
Yes, they’ve given us all the top-level conspiratorial correspondence between the likes of Jones, Trenberth, Hansen, Mann et al but these are the very people who simply must have been communicating upwards to senior political figures or at least their most trusted advisers. Think about it for a moment, do you seriously think the latter plough their way through huge turgid IPCC reports and then hammer out policy and approach from them? No, of course not. These missing emails are the real dynamite at the secret heart of this release of climategate. We do not have a single one of those high-level political emails but they must of course exist.
I strongly suspect we now have them in our possession.
From the viewpoint of the political establishment, the original climategate was probably viewed as a squabble about the details of a branch of science and it was strictly confined to the blogosphere, since it was never reported on by the mainstream media. It looked like a one-off, so there was no ongoing political liability to worry about. Release 2 changes things, both for the whistleblower and the parties involved in the political emails. I’ve no doubt that at the time of the first release, the “scientists” assured the politicians that no significant political emails had been compromised and after two years of complete silence, it looked to be so.
With release 2, all bets are off. The release of explicit emails between scientists and senior political figures conspiring to deceive the electorate would not only be politically terminal but would also have to be reported on in the mainstream media. There’d be no way of ignoring them....
The leaker’s solution to this problem, and I have to say it’s rather neat, is to release all the remaining material now. Release 2 contains the political emails and all it needs is the magic pass phrase to unmask them. It could be uttered at some phony trial on trumped-up charges, it could be uttered to a fellow prisoner, it could be disclosed to their lawyer. It could be left with a few trusted friends with instructions as to who to send it to if anything untoward should happen to them. Allowing for the very worst, it could even be in their last will and testament.
