President Obama promised that his nuclear deal with Iran would not be “based on trust” but rather “unprecedented verification.” Now it turns out Obama’s verification regime is based on trust after all — trust in two secret side agreements negotiated exclusively between Iran and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) that apparently no one (including the Obama administration) has seen.
At the least that would be a level of stupid that's hard to imagine. I don't think it's 'the least'.
Worse, Obama didn’t even reveal the existence of these secret side deals
to Congress when he transmitted the nuclear accord to Capitol Hill.
Which is one more violation of law. As if he cared.
...when they asked how the agency will carry out verification at the Iranian military complex at Parchin. IAEA officials told them, quite casually, that the details were all covered in agreements negotiated between the IAEA and the Iranian government. It was the first they had heard of the side deals.
Pompeo says they asked whether they could see those agreements. He says IAEA officials replied, “ ‘Oh no, of course not, no, you’re not going to get to see those.’ And so everybody on our side of the table asked, ‘Has Secretary Kerry seen these?’ ‘No, Secretary Kerry hasn’t seen them. No American is ever going to get to see them.’ ”
It turns out that only the two parties — the IAEA and Iran — get to see the actual agreements (though you can see a picture of Iranian and IAEA officials holding up what appear to be the secret accords here).
This is what those stupid bastards in the Senate threw away their treaty obligations for: so Obama and Kerry could make possibly the worst deal in history. All the while telling us it's for our own good.
Every damn one of them should be removed from office.

Instead of encouraging us to each bring ourselves to the table and explore our differences cordially, we were told that some differences, namely non-“progressive” beliefs, were unacceptable. In order to be accepted, we must make our views uniform.

A few days ago Marja wrote in comments
that the True Finn party had made big gains in their election. Ran across this article telling how the rise of groups like True Finn is scaring crap out of the EU clowns in Brussels. Two things in the article stand out to me: one is that they're scared to death that if such parties continue to gain power the effort to bail out Portugal and others will be endangered("How dare they try to stop us looting their economy for the common good!"); the other is that they throw 'xenophobic' around a lot to try and shut people up. You have a problem with muslim immigrants who want to take over, you're a xenophobe, etc.
Appears the Brussels aristocrats really don't like being told "You can't do whatever you want", whereas even people who support the EU have big problems with how Brussels & Co. is acting:

According to the proposed form, “failure to provide the information requested may result in … the denial of your U.S. passport application.”
Proving that they're either liars or fools, they say the average respondent would be able to compile all this information in just 45 minutes, which is a a huge load of crap. Because saying "We want to make it about impossible for some people to get a passport" is beyond them.

And perhaps most significant: Not a word about public health pioneer Mayor Bloomberg, owner of Bloomberg news.
This is the same major media that likes to keep pushing the Mexican Gun Lie, too. Even though they know it's bullcrap.

If their capabilities in those areas have remained rather crude, why expedite production and introduction of CBLB502? Why not spend the money on more pressing homeland security needs?

Specifically, she works on a federally funded program that campaigns to exhort people to eat their vegetables and that sort of thing. The comment:
“Interestingly, her name has been scrubbed from the website of Champions for Change, the Network for a Healthy California. She has given numerous presentations and attended conferences on the importance of eating vegetables and whatnot.
“She presents herself as an ordinary mother. She is not. She is an advocate, and an employee of a California agency tasked with advocating the eating of vegetables. To the extent that Monet Parham-Lee has EVER taken her daughter to a McDonald's, she should have known better.”
But she's suing Evil McDonald's, so it's all fine, right?

In addition, Iran has given permission for the missiles to be used in case of an "emergency". In return, the agreement states that Venezuela can use these facilities for "national needs" – radically increasing the threat to neighbors like Colombia. The German daily claims that according to the agreement, Iranian Shahab 3 (range 1300-1500 km), Scud-B (285-330 km) and Scud-C (300, 500 and 700 km) will be deployed in the proposed base. It says that Iran also pledged to help Venezuela in rocket technology expertise, including intensive training of officers.

And, over the long haul, Caracas and Tehran would expand and improve Mr. Chavez's missile arsenal, adding such systems as the BM-25 (with a range of up to 4,000 km) that are capable of striking U.S. population centers with a nuclear warhead. Iran reportedly acquired the BM-25 from North Korea back in 2006 and has been working to duplicate the technology. Obviously, Tehran would have no qualms about selling the BM-25 to Venezuela, or simply moving its own intermediate range missiles to that joint base described in the Die Welt dispatch.

I've been using plated bullets(from Berry's, X-treme or Ranier) in some loads for a few years now; I've had no problems with them, and they definitely leave less mess behind than cast. Depending on your needs/wants, might check into them if you want to handload but want something less expensive than standard jacketed bullets but don't want to mess with casting.

What is the failure rate in an operational environment? Who services the machine? What is the decay rate of the filter? What is the decay rate of the shielding material? What is the variability in the power of the X-ray source during the manufacturing process? This last question may seem trivial; however, the Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory noted significant differences in their test models, which were supposed to be precisely up to spec. Its also interesting to note that the Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory criticized other reports from NIST (the National Institute of Standards and Technology) and a group called Medical and Health Physics Consulting for testing the machine while one of the two X-ray sources was disabled (citations at the bottom of the page).
These questions have not been answered to any satisfaction and the UCSF scientists, all esteemed in their fields and members of the National Academy of Sciences have been dismissed based on a couple of reports seemingly hastily put together by mid-level government technicians or engineers. The documents that I have reviewed thus far either have NO AUTHOR CREDITS or are NOT authored by anyone with either a Ph.D. or a M.D., raising serious concerns of the extent of the expertise of the individuals and organizations evaluating these machines with respect to biological safety. Yet, the FDA and TSA continue to dismiss some of the most talented scientists in the country...

If this is correct, we know two things:

None of the foreign experts has so far come forward because Tehran refuses to provide precise information on the sensitive centers and systems under attack and give the visiting specialists the locations where they would need to work.(would YOU go under those conditions?) They were not told whether they would be called on to work outside Tehran or given access to affected sites to study how they function and how the malworm managed to disable them. Iran also refuses to give out data on the changes its engineers have made to imported SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) systems, mostly from Germany.
How the HELL do they expect anyone to do anything under those conditions? They're so worried about not telling any body anything that they can't even get anyone to say "I'll look at it."
The impression debkafile sources gained Wednesday, Sept. 29 from talking to European computer experts approached for aid was that the Iranians are getting desperate. Not only have their own attempts to defeat the invading worm failed, but they made matters worse: The malworm became more aggressive and returned to the attack on parts of the systems damaged in the initial attack.
Now that is a serious bug.

Iran also appears to be having difficulties on other fronts. Ivan Oelrich, of the Federation of American Scientists, said the centrifuges were only working at 20 per cent efficiency. The latest IAEA report says that 4,592 centrifuges are installed at Natanz - but are sitting idle and doing nothing at all.

The “fight back” website also cites a speech in 2004 by union President Walker about a trade dispute with U of M in which she stated that the union should use “any means necessary”. In 2005 she was served with a summons for obstructing legal process but the charges were dismissed for her role in a campus protest.

One of the main operations done by Stuxnet is that it extracts vital information from these systems and then sends it somewhere abroad. Iran has termed this virus as a spy virus, as it is deploying vital data to other countries. On the other hand it is said, a similar attack has been reported from Iran’s latest nuclear power plant facility, but these reports have not yet been confirmed.Three-thousand industrial computers … what industries and how extensive the damage is Iran isn’t saying. Here's a couple of interesting bits of crap
First, here in the US, Murkowski lost the primary, then went sucking up to the Alaska Libertarian Party to try to run on their ticket, was told no, and now says
“…After meeting with the Libertarian candidate last week and considering that option, I cannot in good conscience seek the Libertarian nomination,” she said. “As disappointed as I am in the outcome of the Primary and my belief that the Alaska Republican Party was hijacked by the Tea Party Express, an outside extremist group, I am not going to quit my party. I will not wrap myself in the flag of another political party for the sake of election at any cost.”
If you had any doubts what a untrustworthy bitch she is, this should set them at rest.

In an official letter dated Aug. 25, the trustee said the reason was “due to your group’s political affiliation.”

I guess Obama's 'discussions' with the Iranians didn't work so well
Iran is paying Taliban fighters $1,000 for each U.S. soldier they kill in Afghanistan, according to a report in a British newspaper.
The Sunday Times described how a man it said was a "Taliban treasurer" had gone to collect $18,000 from an Iranian firm in Kabul, a reward it said was for an attack in July which killed several Afghan government troops and destroyed an American armored vehicle.

In addition to the $1,000 bounty on U.S. troops, the unnamed man said Iran paid $6,000 for the destruction of a U.S. military vehicle.
And, of COURSE, there's still 'mystery' of who committed the 9/11 attacks:
Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has questioned the accepted narrative of the September 11, 2001 attacks in the United States, saying it was still not clear who was behind them.
"Something happened in New York and still nobody knows who the main perpetrators of that act were," Ahmadinejad told diplomats and newspaper editors late on Sunday while on a brief visit to Qatar.
Maybe Obambi needs to use some more feeling, some bigger words, perhaps?

The other day, when I wrote of all the connections
among people who stand to profit(money or power)in screwing up our energy situation, here's one of the kind of things noted:
Tony Podesta is in the news because he lobbies for BP, public enemy No. 1 in President Obama’s Washington after a BP-rented oil rig blew up and started gushing oil into the Gulf of Mexico 63 days ago.
Podesta and his wife Heather aren’t just any lobbyists. Tony’s brother John — who now heads the liberal think tank Center for American Progress — led Obama’s transition team and has been dubbed the “shadow president” because of his close ties to the White House. Tony and Heather Podesta each have visited the White House seven times, according to public visitor logs.
As I recall, that think tank was either started by or is mostly funded by Soros.
I would like someone to print out a whole lot of the climate change 'You're full of crap' that's come out at Watts Up, and staple it to the foreheads of Lieberman and Kerry and a bunch of other people. As a start. Call it a preamble to the tar. These people want to destroy our economy and lives in the name of 'climate change' ideology that is bullshit.
"Does Obama want to be President?" I think he's finding it a lot less fun than he'd thought: people won't kiss his ass, they won't do whatever he proclaims(even with our in-the-tank major media, some of whom are real open about what they're doing), his Lightworker image has so much tarnish it'd need a squad with a pound of Flitz to try to shine it up... good chance he's thinking "I don't know if I want to do this anymore" about now.
The failure of Brazil’s Iranian venture does not mean that the United States does not have a Brazil, and more broadly a Latin America, problem. It wouldn't surprise me of Obama & Co. effed this up; they seem very good at backstabbing. On the other hand it could simply be that a whole bunch of countries said something like "You WANT Iran to have nukes? Are you out of your mind?" And they realized how stupid the move was.

The latest is Nicholas Kristof of the New York Times. Reviewing Ayaan’s new book Nomad, he begins:
“She has managed to outrage more people—in some cases to the point that they want to assassinate her—in more languages in more countries on more continents than almost any writer in the world today. Now Hirsi Ali is working on antagonizing even more people in yet another memoir.”
That’s his opening pitch: if there are those who wish to kill her, it’s her fault because she’s a provocateuse who’s found a lucrative shtick in “working on antagonizing” people. The Times headlines Kristof’s review “The Gadfly,” as if she’s a less raddled and corpulent Gore Vidal. In fact, she wrote a screenplay for a film; Muslim belligerents threatened to kill her and her director; they made good on one half of that threat. This isn’t shtick.
She dares to speak against a protected species, therefore the 'feminists' and 'brave' media weenies either ignore her or denigrate her.

In the worst-case scenario, 69% of employers — 80% of smaller firms — would lose that status, exposing them to far more provisions under the new health law.

Oil boom manufacture Packgen has miles of floating oil containment boom in warehouse right now and they say they can make lots more on short notice. Packgen owner John Lapoint said his company is ramping up production to make 90,000 feet of oil boom per day.
But, there’s a hitch. The company notified the government 4 WEEKS AGO that they have oil boom but they they won’t buy it. BP sent representatives 4 weeks ago to check out the manufacturer and they are going to send representatives again this week. The boom is sitting in a warehouse as the coastline is destroyed.
You want to know what level of PC wusses are in charge in some of Canada?
In yet another nod to the protection of fledgling self-esteem, an Ottawa children’s soccer league has introduced a rule that says any team that wins a game by more than five points will lose by default.
The Gloucester Dragons Recreational Soccer league’s newly implemented edict is intended to dissuade a runaway game in favour of sportsmanship. The rule replaces its five-point mercy regulation, whereby any points scored beyond a five-point differential would not be registered.

“The registration fee, rergardless of the sport, does not give a parent the right to insult or belittle the organization,” he said. “It gives you a uniform, it gives you a team.”

The Arts Festival is running in downtown Oklahoma City, which means
there's a chance of rain through Friday. Which really doesn't mean much; this time of year it can go from 'slight chance' to 'downpour', or 'high chance' to 'nope, no rain' in the space of a few hours. Yesterday it went from '30% chance overnight' to 50% to 20%. Makes planning for some jobs a bit difficult.

It wasn’t until the regime thugs had finished beating him and the 50 or so other young men they had rounded up that they checked his identity papers.
Then, when they realised that Ali Karroubi, 36, was the son of Mehdi Karroubi, a leader of Iran’s opposition Green Movement, they started beating him again – this time with sticks and batons.
“When they recognised who my brother was, the militia tried to punish him so badly,” said Mohammed Taghi Karroubi, the reformist politician’s eldest son.
“His wrist was fractured, he received so many lashes on his back and legs and his internal bleeding was so bad he was vomiting up blood. He was tortured by the basij and the police for five or six hours before they released him.”
