On that lawsuit against Google:

There are expensive, time-consuming, exasperating lawsuits, and then there are radioactive lawsuits that poison everyone who comes within a mile of them. And this lawsuit almost certainly falls into the latter category.
Personally, I certainly hope so.

The whole attitude behind 'zero-tolerance' crap:
“I asked: ‘In the time it would have taken him to go get a teacher, could that kid’s throat have been slit?’ She said yes, but that’s beside the point. That we ‘don’t condone heroics in this school.’
Yeah.  Better some kid wind up in the hospital or dead than your precious policy be violated.

" 'Due process'?  How dare you violate our Narrative by calling for that!"  More leftist autophagy.

Some words about third-world shitholes from someone who's been there.

Yes, sometimes sending your kid to public school involves child abuse

Kyler was at school—Coldwater Community Schools in Branch County, Michigan—when he discovered the knife. He promptly told a counselor about it.

He was suspended for one full year.

School officials later decreased the duration of his suspension to 30 days, according to wwmt.com:
The issue wasn't just contained to the classroom; it also spilled over on to the football field. Davies tells us the school tried to keep her son from playing football.

"The school told me he could not go on their property, he could not play; he can't ride the bus with his team because it's a Coldwater bus," she said.

We spoke with Coldwater Rocket Football, the organization that runs the local football program. It is independent of the district and tells us the school wanted the rocket program to kick Kyler off the team, but they refused.
A: Rocket Football, good for you.
B: Coldwater Community Schools, you're run by fucking idiots.  "Do the right thing and we'll still screw you.  Because Safety."  Although the proper spelling would be 'Stupidity'.

And this is why I refer to it as Zero-Tolerance Stupidity

The school district had argued Drescher didn’t need to be aware of the school policy to be expelled for “willfully” violating it. But the court disagreed because Drescher had to know the policy existed to violate it intentionally, based on the definition of “willfully.”
Got that?  According to the school district idiots, you can 'willfully' violate a rule YOU DON'T EVEN KNOW ABOUT...

'Fucking control-freak idiots' about covers it.

Basically "We must have control over what people know,

and this is one way to increase that control."
The highest court in the European Union this week heard arguments which could impact the ability to link to content on the Internet.

Presiding over a case threatening the nature of the web as we know it, the European Court of Justice (CJEU) on Wednesday debated whether website hyperlinks to content which infringes copyright laws should be permitted.
...
“From a practical standpoint, this law would affect any news aggregator linking to and excerpting works from European content sources, not just EU based aggregators,” Reda wrote late last year.

“Each weblink would become a legal landmine and would allow press publishers to hold every single actor on the Internet liable,” said Reda.

From Californicated, we have another fine example of zero-tolerance stupidity.  Which includes this:
The high school pays a company to search its campus for contraband using drug-sniffing dogs.
These people are idiots.  "We must follow the rules, no matter what.  And we'll pay someone to LOOK for things to follow the rules about."

And Sanders now boils down to "I won't take (all) your guns, BUT-"

On the other hand, where there is a problem is there is evidence that manufacturers, gun manufacturers, do know that they’re selling a whole lot of guns in an area that really should not be buying that many guns. That many of those guns are going to other areas, probably for criminal purposes. So can we take another look at that liability issue? Yes.
I will pass over this idiot not knowing how sales actually work(he is a socialist, you expect better?), and focus on this 'People who make things should read the minds of the people who'll buy them down the road' idiocy.

And lots of people think he's their savior...

Overall looks like Carson did well here, but when the interviewer said “So I want to ask you, who wants to confiscate all the guns of the American citizens?” Carson should've given him some quotes; Diety knows there's enough of them out there.

More zero-tolerance stupid.
School officials would not discuss the issue with the media.
"We do not wish to discuss this with you commoners."

And when there's stupid in Texas, it's big too; specifically Kermit Elementary Principal Roxanne Greer

bringing the stupid bigtime:
Kermit Elementary School officials called it a threat when the 9-year-old boy, Aiden Steward, in a playful act of make-believe, told a classmate he could make him disappear with a ring forged in fictional Middle Earth’s Mount Doom.
No, really.  Not kidding.  And the stupid gets even bigger!
Kermit Elementary Principal Roxanne Greer told the Odessa American that she could not comment on the suspension, because “all student stuff is confidential,” but Steward said that she told him that any and all threats to a child’s safety — including magical ones — would be taken seriously by the school.

He also said that he requested, in writing, a detailed explanation as to how his son’s statements constituted a “terroristic threat,” and that he was told by a representative of the Kermit Independent School District that the school would mail him a letter.
In a way, that last is good; get the stupid in writing.

Texas, what the hell is going on down there?  First telling kids to drop their pants in public, and now this?

Zero-tolerance stupid combined with idiots wearing badges

is not a good combination.

What do you think: firing for the school officials involved, and the cops who couldn't be bothered to find something he could eat, followed by a ban for life on future public employment.  As a start.  Further possibilities may come to mind.

Ronald Ritchie, I think you're a chickenshit little bastard who got two people killed.  If you can't be prosecuted, I hope the families sue you for everything you have or ever will have.
Yes, I've mentioned this before; he deserves the fame he's earned.

Speaking of other .gov asshats, the National Park Service has an anniversary coming up in 2016.  I'm betting they'll want us to spend a buttload of money to commemorate how wonderful they are.  Considering their actions during the shutdown, I'm thinking every penny spent then should be cut from their damned budget as a start.

Over in the wonderful PRC, well, if someone stuck me out with a pistol with this level of training(to misuse the word), I'd be worried too:
Many patrol officers who are now carrying guns haven't fired shot since the police academy, where each recruit is required to shoot five bullets, officers said. One SWAT officer in Guangdong Province said that while his team shoots 100 bullets every morning for practice, regular patrol officers in his district are shooting less than 10 bullets a year.

"There are no standards, every department just makes up their own rules," he said.
This is... pitiful.  Even if they're worried about some common cop actually knowing how to use the tool, being more worried about that than about the problems caused by a bunch of untrained people with great authority running around armed is stupid.

But then, it is the PRC.

The Thought Crimes Division of the People's Republic of MA

strikes again.  This guy wrote books, fiction, that included- hell, just read this:
Early last week the school board was alerted that one of its eighth grade language arts teachers at Mace's Lane Middle School had several aliases.  Police said that under those names, he wrote two fictional books about the largest school shooting in the country's history set in the future.  Now, Patrick McLaw is placed on leave.
...
Phillips said McLaw was taken in for an emergency medical evaluation. The sheriff would not disclose where McLaw is now, but he did say that he is not on the Eastern Shore. The same day that McLaw was taken in for an evaluation, police swept Mace's Lane Middle School for bombs and guns, coming up empty.

Dorchester County Superintendent of Schools Dr. Henry Wagner said the Dorchester County Board of Education has taken its own action.

"We have advised our community that the gentleman has been placed on administrative leave, and has been prohibited from entering any Dorchester County public school property," Wagner said.
Sue the bastards.  For everything your lawyer can come up with.  Then throw in a few more things.  The idiot school brass and the cops both.  This is such a level of bullshit it's hard to believe even for the PROM.

Added: It was pointed out by Skidmark that this is the PRO Maryland, not Massachusetts, but I'm willing to accept it as a typo as long as we can stipulate that both places have the suck.  They do indeed; I need to change it to PROM and PROMD to differentiate between them.

Although why bother?  As he notes, they're both progressive holes of suck and fail.  But still, we should be precise as to which hole we refer.

This is not good

Hundreds of West Africans could be carrying the deadly Ebola virus and not know it, potentially infecting hundreds more, as cash-strapped governments and overwhelmed aid agencies struggle to contain the virus's spread.

At least 1,500 people have not yet been traced who are known to have come into contact with others confirmed or suspected to be infected with the haemorrhagic fever, Medecins Sans Frontieres (MSF) told The Telegraph.
Yeah, 'hemorrhagic fever virus' and 'out of control' are not things you want to hear together.
More here(autoplay warning)

Some thoughts on training

Because they'd rather a kid be a victim than a defender.  Fuck these people, and not in a good way.

And I guarantee Obama & Co. like it that way.

Yes, I did make it to the range today.  Along with general stuff, zeroed the M92 project; had to shift the sight just a touch to bring it dead-on with windage, and raise the rear one notch.  That puts it dead-on at 50 and 100, 100 being the longest range I'd want to use it for real.

And I'm going to make some kind of spacer for the stock to extend it about an inch to try, I think it'll be a bit more comfortable for me.  Otherwise, it stays as-is; works, short & handy, 8+1 of .357 Mag should be enough for any possible social use.

Note to people messing with leverguns: bench-resting them can be touchy: a lot of them, if you rest the forend on the bag, it'll cause it to throw high, so the general recommendation I've heard is to rest the receiver itself.  Which works on some, but on my Model 94 doesn't; you're better off holding the forend with your hand and resting the hand.  In the case of this M92, no difference between resting the receiver and the hand, which makes it a bit nicer to zero or test loads.  I will note that what I really need is either some different sights, or better eyes; I think it's capable of better accuracy than I was today.

How stupid are universities?

This fucking stupid:
"The current interpretation of the non-weapon policy in NDSU...understands our fencing equipment as weapons," says the club's coach Enrique Alvarez.
...
Nonetheless, NDSU's Police and Safety Office Director Ray Boyer cited the school's policy manual and Code of Student Behavior, saying sabers and swords are prohibited on campus:
"They are deemed weapons, and as such, possession or use on University owned or controlled property is prohibited," he says.
Boyer, you are a fucking moron.  Playing the "I'll blindly follow so I'm not responsible for anything" playbook.  You're a useless, brainless fool.

Socialist 'progressives' compared to actual liberals;

Socialist crapweasels lose.

"Why does the EPA have a SWAT team?"  Same reason the Dept. of Education does: because they can get away with it, it gives them more power, and because if you don't have one you're not one of the cool kids' groups.
There was a similar incident in California where a SWAT team burst into a man’s house and dragged him handcuffed to the front lawn on orders from the Department of Education to look for evidence his ex-wife had committed financial aid fraud.
A: IF these clowns were actual LE professionals, they'd have said "Hell no!" when told to raid for such a reason.  Bet the clowns refer to themselves as 'operators', too.
B: Every one of them, from the idiot who gave the order to the clowns who carried it out, should have been fired.  But not crap will happen to them.  Same goes for the EPA SWAT team in Alaska.

Speaking of people who should be fired and prosecuted, I present to you the SEC:
Two stories popped up last week that raise serious concerns about the way that the SEC tramples on the Constitution. The first is that in a hearing, SEC boss Mary Jo White was asked why the SEC is so resistant to ECPA reform and what's wrong with getting a warrant, and more or less admitted that it's standard practice for the SEC to not get a warrant, but to rely on loopholes in ECPA to get access to emails. Prior to this, many had assumed that this was just a desire of the SEC, not that they were regularly doing it. But White's answer makes it clear that the SEC views this practice -- which seems like it should be a clear 4th Amendment violations -- as standard operating procedure.
...
Meanwhile, concerning a separate issue, Mark Cuban and his lawyer published an op-ed in the Wall Street Journal last week, discussing the SEC's totally bogus case against him for insider trading, which got tossed out by a lawyer. The key issue they discussed is how the SEC had exculpatory evidence that proved Cuban had done no wrong from back in 2004 -- and then did everything possible to avoid turning over that evidence, as is normally required in legal proceedings.

More 'liberal' attacks on unapproved speech:
Another incident of muzzling those without the proper worldview received less attention. Kickstarter, the nation's biggest crowd-funding site, refused to accept a film about convicted abortion doctor Kermit Gosnell unless descriptions of his crimes were removed.

After producers Phelim McAleer and his wife, Ann McElhinney, complained publicly, embarrassed Kickstarter CEO Yancey Strickler claimed on Twitter that the allegation was false. Strickler released an e-mail accepting the Gosnell film, but failed to mention that it was accepted only after the filmmakers withdrew in frustration. The producers released e-mails from Kickstarter demanding that references to stabbing babies and "similar language" be removed. The "acceptance letter" came March 28, the day after the producers withdrew their proposal.

Superintendent Charles Maranzano of Vernon Schools in New Jersey: I hope the family sues you for everything you have and ever will have.
“We never know what’s percolating in the minds of children,” he told the news station. “And when they demonstrate behaviors that raise red flags, we must do our duty.”
The kid was TWIRLING A PENCIL...

Judge, I'll believe you REALLY mean it when you act to have Teesdale disbarred and fired.  Until then, you're just throwing some words at another lawyer.

Now, if you'll excuse me, I shall try to do something about the mess around here.  And then take those pictures I promised.

Yeah, some public schools DO count as child abuse

A ten-year-old Ohio boy was suspended from school after a teacher caught him brandishing a “level 2 lookalike firearm.” What lookalike firearm was this, you ask? Well, Nathan Entingh got in trouble after he pretended to use his finger as a gun. Yep, his finger.
Ever get the feeling these idiots are reading Retief books and considering the CDT methods a farging model?

Another reason to avoid places like the PDRM and DAFSNJ*: they'll try to tax you for setting foot in the damned(literally) places.
...local revenue agents have seized out-of-state trucks simply passing through their jurisdiction, refusing to release them until the firms that dispatched them fork over corporate income taxes. Finance departments have slapped out-of-state businesses with bills for thousands of dollars in corporate back taxes, based on little more than a single worker visiting the state sometime during the year. And tax agents have targeted employees who work remotely for in-state firms, claiming that they owe personal income taxes, even when they’ve never stepped foot in the taxing state.

Over in India, nutty inventor for the win; poor women damn happy about it.
Second note on this: 'all societies are equal' my ass.
Worse was to come. The villagers became convinced he was possessed by evil spirits, and were about to chain him upside down to a tree to be "healed" by the local soothsayer. He only narrowly avoided this treatment by agreeing to leave the village. It was a terrible price to pay. "My wife gone, my mum gone, ostracised by my village" he says. "I was left all alone in life."

Just maybe, this will get some people to understand why we yell about that idiot UN small-arms treaty:
Raymond Yans is president of the International Narcotics Control Board (INCB), the U.N. agency charged with monitoring the implementation of anti-drug treaties. It is therefore not surprising that Yans takes a dim view of marijuana legalization in Colorado and Washington, which he says poses "a grave danger to public health and well-being."

But according to the INCB, legalization is not just dangerous; legalization is illegal. Even Americans who support marijuana prohibition should be troubled by the implications of that argument, which suggests that international treaties trump the Constitution.
You UN clowns think it does.  We beg to differ.  Further evidence of their mindset:
In an INCB report issued on Tuesday, Yans scolds the U.S. government for letting Colorado and Washington repeal criminal penalties for production, possession, and distribution of cannabis. "INCB reiterates that these developments contravene the provisions of the drug control conventions, which limit the use of cannabis to medical and scientific use only," he writes. "INCB urges the Government of the United States to ensure that the treaties are fully implemented on the entirety of its territory."
'Why don't you get your peasants under control!'
Dear Mr. Yans:
Here, the peasants are supposed to control the government, not the other way around.

Deal with it, and kiss our ass.

Sincerely, etc.

Tab clearing

Why no Officer Friendly?  Because you're assholes and people are covering for you.

And having keys to the vehicle is the gateway to drunk driving.  Or something.

A collection of idiocy and stupidity.

Then, pleading in mitigation that she’s there to talk about the Middle East, she reveals that she has no idea where Benghazi is.

Finally, when her constituents helpfully point out that Benghazi is in Libya, she turns to the side and gives that pitiful look that is the single thing I most loathe about American politics – the look a floundering empty suit gives to her minder when she needs him to come and rescue her. Which the minder immediately does.

A bunch of democrats can't stand the preemptive surrender, either.

A bunch of firefighters dead, because clusterfuck.

You expect anything else?  They WANT the IRS abusing power and breaking the law.

Yeah, I'm sure those nasty Jew gangs are looking for people to beat up...

The superintendent at School District RE-1 in Colorado is a fucking idiot.  And should be fired.  "I am following Holy Procedure!" should not be a defense in a case like this, it should be evidence of guilt.

...this is how we kill our animals in Islam.

From one of the faithful islamists in friendly multi-culti Britain who murdered Fusilier Lee Rigby.
Michael Adebolajo, one of the men accused of gruesomely hacking to death British Fusilier Lee Rigby in May, said in a police interview that he and co-accused Michael Adebowale didn’t seek out Rigby because of a personal vendetta, but because he was “the soldier that was spotted first.”

He also said the brutal method of execution they chose was based on how “animals” are killed in Islam, according to the BBC.

The 45-minute interview was from June, but was played in court Thursday during the murder trial in which both men have pleaded not guilty.
Not murder to kill an unbeliever, y'know.  Especially a soldier.

"I was outraged about the IRS.  Until it became an actual problem, now it's a 'phony scandal'."
Also, I wonder how the socialists feel knowing that, if they object to the IRS breaking the law and abusing power, it means they're 'so-called progressives'?
Also: this guy thinks Obama was slapping Tingles Matthews for having dared to be upset over the matter.  A while back.  Before it started causing real problems.

That had to leave a mark:
It's possible that this is nothing more than hypocrisy. But the real reason, I think, is that the NFL is trying to protect its investments. The oversized guy who crashes his $150,000 custom SUV into a house and breaks down the door with his fists to strangle the family inside may be someone's number one draft pick, and all those millions his team spent on him would go right down the drain if some terrified homeowner shot him in self-defense.

And we can't have that now, can we? It's…un-American.

More Democrats in trouble pretending they give a rats ass about the 2nd Amendment.  While taking money from anti-gun-ownership groups.
Giffords' Rights and Responsibilities PAC is funded by money left over in the Arizona Democrat's campaign account. The new PAC will start by contributing to the campaigns of Sen. Pat Toomey, R-Pa., Sen. Sue Collins, R-Maine, and Sen. Kay Hagan, D-N.C., said Pia Carusone, a senior Giffords adviser.

All supported a measure fashioned by Toomey and Sen. Joe Manchin, D-W.Va., that would have required background checks on all commercial sales of guns. That provision and other major gun-control measures failed to pass Congress this year, despite widespread calls to overhaul the nation's gun laws after 26 children and adults were gunned down last December at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Conn.
So how pro-gun are you really if you get money from Gabby's gun control PAC? I think the answer is obvious - not much. Just like Hagan lied about you getting to keep your old health insurance, her support of the Second Amendment is also suspect. The only question in my mind is when soon-to-be former Mayor Bloomberg digs into his own deep pockets and contributes to Kay Hagan.

Anywhere except Eric Holders' 'Justice Department' this would be extortion and kickbacks.

Stolen from Joe at Tams' place:
The Manhattan Project: Turning a few, vague theoretical physics concepts into two working weapons from scratch, using slide rules and crude mechanical calculators to crunch a heck of a lot of complex math, all while figureing out how to build a lot of freaking complex stuff.

Meanwhile, the Obama admin can't figure out how to make a website that can do something Amazon had been doing for about a decade before
.

You have to wonder: did the idiots who thought this was a good idea not know about the Cthulu mythos, or do they like being associated with it?
Yeah. We don't have an Orbital Hilton or a tourist lodge on the moon and Pan-Am can't run you up there on a shuttle -- in fact, they're struggling to make the trains run on time while NASA astronauts have to bum a lift from the Russians.* But our .gov can bigawd tune in every cel-phone call, walkie-talkie and baby monitor everywhere, and read everyone's e-mail and web-browsing history to boot. China plans to put a missile base on the Moon and this country's space program is all about listening at keyholes and peering in windows.

Over on Bookface Breda had this link on how to work the hunch out of your back.  I promise to try it soon as the shoulder won't do something horrible.

Once more proving that 'zero tolerance' actually means 'Zero use of brain by school officials' is Principal John Horton and the idiot teacher in the class.
The teacher took both Johnny and the other boy into the hall and lectured them about disruption. The teacher then contacted Johnny’s mother, Beverly Jones, alerting her to the “seriousness” of the violation because the children were using “firearms” in their horseplay, and informing her that the matter had been referred to the Principal. Principal John Horton contacted Ms. Jones soon thereafter in order to inform her that Johnny’s behavior was a serious offense that could result in expulsion under the school’s weapons policy. Horton characterized Johnny’s transgression as “making a threat” to another student using a “replica or representation of a firearm” through the use of an imaginary bow and arrow.
How about the offense of sending a paycheck to idiots like Horton and Jones?

Some of our distant ancestors managed to paint this stuff in a cave.  Sometimes under the influence of radon and  CO2 poisoning.  Damn.
More here

So the EffingBI CAN use your computer camera to spy on you.
Wonder if they bother getting a warrant?

Why aren't you Officer Friendly anymore?(Reason 372)
Because you're a friggin' idiot.  And a liar.
One night, Lee went outside to check on some people making noise on his property.
“They (the police) just pulled in and said, ‘What is going on? What is going on? Hands up, Anybody have any weapon?’ I said I have a gun. They just grabbed me, took my gun and threw me in the car,” Lee said.
Lee said he told the officer he had the permit on him. He was cited for loitering and his truck was towed from his private property.
...
A judge dismissed the case at his initial appearance and apologized. For more than a year, Lee has been trying to get his gun back, get an apology from police and get reimbursed for the cost of getting his car towed.
“They gave me the run around. I went to every precinct over here. Not here, try this one, Not here, try this one,” Lee said.
Found over here.

Gee, why might we have a problem believing that?
[T]hey won’t even say whether they ask a judge for a search warrant before they turn the equipment on,” the newspaper reported Sunday.

Instead, officials reportedly insist they can’t disclose such information because doing so may endanger public safety
.
That's become one of the go-to excuses for "We don't want to tell you" that it's for 'public safety'.

'Bout time that bastards' statue came down.

Translation: "Rangel didn't get his ass kissed, so he's all butthurt about it."

Damn, that's a long list of stuff.  I think I'll go read a book or load some ammo or something.

Tab clearing

3.5 million have already lost their insurance.
And yeah, it's pissing them off; anybody surprised?

The Scottsdale Country Day School is run by idiots.
And the principal appears to have delusion of adequacy.

Question an assignment, be accused of being a nazi.  And tea-party 'right wing'.

“New product lets sportsmen know when drones are near,” a recent Outdoor Hub headline proclaimed. “Technology firm DroneShield has created a device that is capable of detecting nearby unmanned aerial vehicles, also known as drones.”

Daughter was at a steampunk convention this weekend. also at the location:
"There was a full-blown Toddlers and Tiaras style pageant going on at the hotel during the convention. There were even at least two people who have actually been featured on that show there.
It was...disturbing. There was a bikini competition, apparently. For girls under 10. Down to literal toddlers...like barely old enough to walk, in bikinis."
There are parents out there who could do with a serious series of kicks in the ass. Or a really severe beating with a clue bat.

Why are schools gone to hell? Largely because of the idiots in charge of them

A 12-year-old boy was suspended from a Coventry middle school after his parents said he brought a small gun keychain to school.
Joseph Lyssikatos said the keychain was in his backpack at Alan Shawn Feinstein Middle School on Thursday when it fell out. A classmate picked it up and started showing it to other students.
A teacher confiscated it and before Joseph knew it, he was suspended.
Because screwing kids around on crap like this is evidently far more important than, y'know, teaching.
According to data provided by the state Department of Education, only 68% of students in Joseph’s class are “proficient” in math.  Just 26% achieved “proficient with distinction” on the New England Common Assessment Program (NECAP) tests conducted last year.

Howzabout suspending a bunch of school brass and 'teachers' from their pay until the scores go up?

Tuesday, June 18, 2013

From the People's Republic of Maryland,

'concern for children' includes
interrogating them for hours,
scaring them into wetting their pants,
THEN calling the parents,
putting a suspension on their record
for the horrible offense of having a plastic cowboy pistol.
And
The Post notes that the principal — Jennifer L. Young, according to Dowell Elementary’s website — told the boy’s mother that things would have been even worse had the toy gun been loaded with caps. In that case, the school would have regarded the plaything as an explosive and called the police.
Principal Young, you should be fired for being a child abuser.  And the school board should be canned for standing behind this crap.

New Effing York is having another spasm of "Let's lie about this gun so we can ban it"; in this case, the FN 5.7 pistol.  Did you know this hotted-up .22 Magnum can penetrate body armor at 200 yards?
Yeah, I know, it can't.  And it won't penetrate anything any better than a .22 Mag unless you have the actual AP ammo, which hasn't be available to anybody but military and LE since day one, but that doesn't matter; Rep. Eliott Engel (D) has declared it's a 'cop killer' and should be banned from the peasants.  Along with wanting Obama to sign a royal edict to bring the Clinton AWB back(something else which didn't accomplish crap for protecting cops).

More zero-tolerance idiocy from the People's Republic of Maryland

Kid(KINDERGARTEN, mind you) shows friend his cap gun.
School officials at Dowell Elementary School in the town of Lusby proceeded to question the five-year-old for over two hours before finally calling his mother, whom The Post also does not name.

The principal eventually called the boy’s mother at 10:50 a.m. By that time, the five-year-old had wet his pants (which the mother called highly unusual).
Major-level stupid, right?  But wait, there's MORE!
The Post explains that the principal — Jennifer L. Young, according to Dowell Elementary’s website — told the kindergartener’s mother that things would have been even worse had the toy gun been loaded with caps. In that case, the school would have regarded the plaything as an explosive and called the police.
Jennifer L. Young, you're a fucking idiot.  And a disgrace to the profession of teaching.  I don't care what the effing regulations say, you could have handled this a LOT better.  Instead, you've terrified a little kid and screwed with his life.  Considering the PROM, probably forever.
The 10-day suspension is officially for possessing a look-alike gun, notes the Post. If the suspension is not lifted, the kindergartener won’t be able to go to school the rest of the year. The suspension will also be part of his permanent academic record.

From the PROM, more zero-tolerance stupidity

I’ll give Palmer this much: The toy that caused the uproar on the school bus Friday looks like a tiny assault rifle. It’s from a G.I. Joe action figure. It’s less than 2 inches long, and the boy is 6.

“I think they overreacted totally. I totally do,” the boy’s mom, Mieke Crane, told WGGB-TV. Her boy had to write a letter of apology to the bus driver, though after she met with school officials yesterday, they agreed to drop the detention he had been sentenced to serve.

Saturday, May 18, 2013

The PROM says goodbye to some of that Beretta tax money;

more to follow.
Not to mention jobs lost and so on.  But I'm sure the clowns running the state will feel very virtuous at running this company out.

In the Dark and Fascist State of New Jersey: "How dare you bring inconvenient facts into this! Guards!"

Why I call it Zero-Tolerance Stupidity:
The family of a second-grade boy suspended from his school in Maryland’s Anne Arundel County for chewing his Pop-Tart-like pastry into the shape of a gun has lost a bid to have the episode expunged from the child’s record, according to the family’s attorney.

Emily Miller and Judicial Watch are after the reasons why Dick Gregory wasn't treated like any other citizen.
And the OAG and MPD really aren't happy about it.
Tough shit, folks.

If you haven't heard what happened to the Reese family, go check it out.  It's a disgrace.  And I should have been doing a better job of following this.
