Remember that picture the other day?

I'm now hotter, tireder, and dealing with a problem that really pisses me off.  Bloggage may resume later, assuming I don't just give up.

Well, hell NO the Brady group won't take responsibility for it;

they'll let the people they helped push into this idiocy be screwed.
That said, I wish we had made mention of it in our story. I agree it is relevant to the overall discussion. We reached out to the Brady Center and specifically asked them *why they would provide legal counsel for the case, but not pick up the attorneys’ fees after the dismissal. They never responded to our request…and I think I should have outlined that lack of response in our piece.

And that's it, because this is me today*

*stolen from Miguel

A: Good thing: the Navy won't file charges

on the Lt. Commander.
B: Bad thing: I'd bet the only reason is how pissed people were at the idea.
C: Bet his career is over.  He Broke A Rule, And Will Be Punished Somehow.

The Kurds are actually fighting ISIS, and having success, so of course Obama & Co. are good with something that damages the Kurds.
Yes, I know, there are Kurdish terrorists hitting Turks, etc.  Problem:
"'Turkey doesn’t intend to target IS with this safe zone. The Turkish government was seriously disturbed by Kurds trying to create an autonomous state in Syria,' he said, adding that ‘the safe zone is intended to stop the Kurds, not IS.'"
And I think there's a problem with this:
In contrast, the Islamic State has no such aims on Turkey and does not have the wherewithal to undertake such an enterprise—even if it wanted to. Turks have a long history of secularism and are not receptive to the strict Islamism of ISIS. For the time being, therefore, the Turkish state will pretend to be fighting ISIS while directing its violence towards the PKK and the YPG.
Except Turkey is being run, from what I've read, by the Muslim Brotherhood.  Which doesn't exactly seem hostile to ISIS.  And has purged the Turk military of lots of officers who might have a problem with Turkey being pushed into a theocracy.  Lots of Turks aren't happy with it, but after all this can they actually do what he suggests?

Yeah, this is outside my areas of expertise.
(kind of like it's outside Obamas'...)

A: Even for that lying bastard in the Oval Office,

this is a string of crap that's amazing.

B: He still has no responsibility for ANYTHING(unless he thinks it's good, then no matter when or how it happened, he wants credit).

C: Mr. President, you're a slandering little shit.
If anyone has a problem with me putting it that way, when he's throwing around accusations of treason, well, he can damn well deal with being called what he actually is.
In fact, it’s those hardliners who are most comfortable with the status quo. It’s those hardliners chanting “Death to America” who have been most opposed to the deal. They’re making common cause with the Republican caucus. (Laughter and applause.)
If Obama had said that the Republican caucus is making common cause with Iran’s hardliners, it would have been an unambiguous accusation of treason. By phrasing it the other way around–the hardliners are making common cause with Republicans–Obama gives himself a slight margin of deniability. But either way, it is a disgusting slander.

Speaking a fact doesn't mean they won't lie about you

and call you names.

Ah, Germany: get rid of your clean nuke plants, put up a bunch of solar and bird cuisinarts, discover that won't cut it and start building coal plants...

Yes, I keep repeating this stuff. Because it bears repeating. In Iraq, Obama took a war that we had won at a considerable expense in lives and treasure, and threw it away for the callowest of political reasons. In Syria and Libya, he involved us in wars of choice without Congressional authorization, and proceeded to hand victories to the Islamists. Obama’s policy here has been a debacle of the first order, and the press wants to talk about Bush as a way of protecting him. Whenever you see anyone in the media bringing up 2003, you will know that they are serving as palace guard, not as press.

As the date of the Hiroshima bombing approaches,

the usual "We didn't need to drop the bomb!" cries and condemnations are going 'round again.  The people yelling this either don't know or don't care just what would've happened had we not.
Lance or spear practice was a regular women's exercise to practice for the anticipated U.S. landing. My uncle, who was disabled, had been sent to a mandatory training camp to practice with wooden bullets and makeshift weapons to do his civilian share in greeting American forces. Then the bomb was dropped and it was over. Those who recently protested the Hiroshima and Nagasaki bombings don't have a grip on the grim reality of invasion that both Americans AND Japanese were facing. When I first visited the Hiroshima museum, I, too, had been overwhelmed with pity, sorrow, and anger. This was before my family explained to me what the consequences would have been if those bombs had not been dropped.

I recommend this (pdf), Thank Gods for the Atom Bomb.

And they wonder why so many no longer respect cops...

Remember the Santa Ana, California, cops who were caught on video munching on what seem to be cannabis-infused chocolate bars after raiding an unlicensed medical marijuana dispensary in May? The Orange County Register reports that three officers who were suspended after the incident are trying to stop the Santa Ana Police Department from using the footage in its internal investigation. Among other things, their lawsuit argues that the officers thought they had disabled all of the security cameras at Sky High Holistic and therefore had a reasonable expectation of privacy. The cops complain that the dispensary never got their permission to record them as they searched the premises.
Think real hard about that.  And consider the level of stupid and arrogant behind this.

Arrogant- and now desperate- assholes hiding behind badges.

Yeah, the Planned Parenthood mess is as bad as they feared

“Where we probably have an edge over other organizations, our organization has been doing research for many many years,” explains Farrell. When researchers need a specific part from the aborted fetus, Farrell says, “We bake that into our contract, and our protocol, that we follow this, so we deviate from our standard in order to do that.”
Asked specifically if this means Planned Parenthood Gulf Coast can change abortion procedures to supply intact fetal specimens, Farrell affirms, “Some of our doctors in the past have projects and they’re collecting the specimens, so they do it in a way that they get the best specimens, so I know it can happen.“
Sounds like someone in business getting specimens for customers more than anything else, doesn't it?  Add that to this:
“Stem Express is trying to suppress a specific video recording,” Daleidan told CNN’s Alisyn Camerata.

“In a meeting with their top leadership, they admitted that they sometimes get fully intact fetuses shipped to their laboratory from the abortion clinics they work with, and that could be prima facie evidence of born alive infants. And so that’s why they’re trying to suppress that videotape and they’re very scared of it.”
Well, yeah. Because that would mean murder.  And even a lot of die-hard Abortion-at-any-time people just might have a slight problem with that.

Since the only proper victims are colored people* or women,

there's been a movement for some years now to claim the Irish didn't actually face the discrimination that'd been spoken of for so long.  And a professor insisted it was all imaginary, and- he being a Professor- all the little right-thinking academics ran right along with it.

And now a kid has done what some of them should have done: actually looked at the evidence.
“Irish Catholics in America have a vibrant memory of humiliating job discrimination, which featured omnipresent signs proclaiming ‘Help Wanted—No Irish Need Apply!’ No one has ever seen one of these NINA signs because they were extremely rare or nonexistent.”
Except
Here, of course, is the problem: After only couple of hours Googling it, Rebecca, a 14-year-old, had found out these signs had, in fact, existed all along. Not only in newspaper listings—in which they appeared in droves—but, after further research, in shop windows, too.

The Irish were persecuted in the American job market—and precisely in the overt, literally written-down way that was always believed.

All of this would have been written off as a myth if it weren’t for Rebecca Fried, a rising high school freshman—who one of the preeminent scholars on the Irish diaspora in the United States now calls a “hero” and “quite extraordinary”—and who simply couldn’t believe it, either.
The asshat pushing the 'It didn't happen!' line is University of Illinois-Chicago history professor Richard J. Jensen.  Who responded thus to the young ladys' piece:
“I’m the PhD who wrote the original article. I’m delighted a high school student worked so hard and wrote so well,” he writes. “No, she did not claim to find a single window sign anywhere in the USA.”

But Rebecca’s article does include that information. She made it clear in a reply.
“I do have to say that the article does in fact list a number of posted physical NINA signs, not just newspaper ads. Pages 6-7 catalogue a number of the signs,” she wrote.

Jensen retorted with a numerical list of all of the “No Irish Need Apply” signs he encountered in her essay—ending with, “That’s very rare. In Chicago, only 3 ads in over 50 years. How rare can you get?”
Let's see... lie about what she wrote, then move the goalposts... is it too terrible of me to think that this clown is representative of what is wrong in academia nowadays?

The lady feared her responses didn't show sufficient respect to this clown; she needs to get over worrying about that when dealing with liars and poltroons such as he.

Now sue their ninja-suited asses off

The Milan family sued the department, and last week the 7th Circuit Court of Appeals decided that the police had no legal immunity for being sued by the Milans for their actions that day.
Damn right.  Because not only did the do a 'Kick in the doors and toss grenades' raid when it wasn't needed,
...It took them only a day to discover that it was indeed he who was responsible—he had used Mrs. Milan's open network to threaten the police. But rather than give him the SWAT-team treatment, the police politely requested that he come to police headquarters, which he did, where he was arrested without incident. (He was prosecuted for the threats, pleaded guilty, and was given a sixteen-month prison sentence.) The police department's kid-gloves treatment of Murray is in startling contrast to their flash- bang assault on Mrs. Milan's home.
Sue the department, and sue these idiots personally for damages.  It's a good start.

There are reasons they used to be called 'revenuers'.  And shot at.  Sounds like we may need to go back to that.

And Californicated wonders why people and businesses keep moving out...

A good piece from Erin on the statements of a gun bigot

I'd recommend just go read it.  Now, or soon as you can.  I'm going to borrow part of it:
1)  "To me, ownership of a handgun tells me that you've more or less given up on civilization."

There are two ways to parse this, and both of them have troubling implications. The first is the assertion that anyone who owns a handgun is, effectively, a savage. After all, isn't that "giving up on civilization" means -- saying "screw it" and either figuratively or literally embracing the ways of wild barbarism in order to eschew civilization? If you give up on civilization, aren't you ipso facto uncivilized? I find it troubling that, the author is effectively dehumanizing those who disagree with him by calling them unworthy of being able to exist within civilization.

The second possible interpretation, albeit unspoken, is that anyone who chooses to own a handgun as opposed to owning one as part of their job, i.e. the military and the police, has given up on civilization. This is actually far more troubling to me than the former, as it ties into the second objectionable statement below.

2) "I do not own a gun for the same reason I do not filter my own drinking water or generate my own electricity - I live in a city, where, for a reasonable price, security, like water or electricity, is provided by trained professionals."

With this statement, the author is essentially saying "I don't need to protect myself, there are people who will do that for me." And, referring back to statement one above, these trained professionals are either savages (because they carry handguns) or -- and this is actually the worse interpretation -- he supports the creation of police as "a separate moral species, specially bred for violence, to be called from their fortified compound to vacuum up problems and guilt."
She continues, quite well.  I'll simply add my thought on #2:
I'm curious as to what this dumbass proposes to do in the time it takes the cops to get there.  Assuming he's able to call before the situation goes to hell.

Erin notes something I have before as well: people who preen at being virtuous and pacifist and all, but will damn well call the cops- to come with guns and nightsticks and so forth- to save them from the predators.  They have no problem paying someone else to do violence for them, but they damn sure don't want their precious hands directly dirty.

Anyway, go read it all.  It's worth it.

Another communist government is taking a country down the toilet,

and what's the answer?  "We just give them supplies and money to help!"

No, we don't.  The tyrants running the country have taken a fairly rich place and run it out of food, medicine, toilet paper and beer.  All while running squads of thugs around beating and terrorizing people.  Either let it sink, or tell them "Change your ways and we'll help."  And do NOTHING until.

"Politics are not involved in this decision."  In a pigs ass it's not.

Monday, August 03, 2015

So the short version is "No matter what the officer did,

it was justified."  Including shooting people in the back, and lying under oath, and other little things like that.

'Disgusting' is a start.

Yes, on the subject of firearms Mother Jones is full of crap.  Again.  (link fixed)

No, the hands of the PRC aren't exactly clean, either.

Now, if you'll excuse me, I need to stand under a water stream, dry off, and then collapse.

Hey, he only murdered American troops, so what's the big deal?

Seems to be Obamas' attitude.

He wants the Iranians to have nukes, and lots of money to pay terrorists with, so why would he be bothered about handing freedom to act and lots of money to this guy?

Due Process isn't important for men.  Accusation must equal guilt.  Or else you're 'victim blaming'.

I have an answer: get rid of these campus kangaroo courts, hand it all over to the police.  Including prosecution for making false police reports.

Of course, they don't want to do that; there really IS due process then, evidence required.  And they really don't want that.

On the EffingBI trying not to talk about the Gunwalker connection to the Garland terrorist attack:
What this attempt at covering up the provenance of Soofi’s weapon shows is that the Justice Department and associated federal agencies are still engaged in trying to hide facts about Fast and Furious from Congress. They’ve been stonewalling the investigation for more than four years — not out of concern for the safety of Americans (and Mexicans for that matter), but because they fear the political fallout that would ensue once their incompetence was exposed.
'Incompetence' my ass; they don't want their deliberately running guns to the cartels to be exposed any more.

Everyone's pissed(rightly so, I think) at the idea of that Commander being charged for defending his troops.  Knowing such would stir people up so much, why would the Navy start that(ignoring the 'We must set an example!  and I hate guns anyway!' idiocy that's possible)?  Here's a possibility:
And that brings us back to changing the narrative.  By suggesting that Lieutenant Commander White may be facing charges, senior government officials have successfully changed the focus of the Chattanooga investigation, at least temporarily.  That should make everyone wonder what new revelations are about to drop, in terms of the shooter's travels and affiliations, and security measures in place at the reserve center at the time of the attack.

As we learned in the days followed the shooting, the reserve base was a largely undefended target, putting sailors and Marines at risk.  Abdulazeez was able to crash through an unmanned gate at the facility and open fire.   To date, DoD has said nothing about why the gate was secured with nothing more than a chain and a padlock, and the response of base security personnel.  It was Lieutenant Commander White and that unidentified Marine returned who fire from inside the perimeter and it was the Chattanooga Police Department--in pursuit of the suspect--who finally cornered Abdulazeez and shot him dead.  Base security--based on what we have learned so far--was AWOL.

Keep an eye on the Navy's "prosecution" of Randy White in the weeks ahead.  It will provide a convenient distraction while far more serious revelations about the attack dribble out.  Sad to say, but it won't be the first time the feds have sought a scapegoat in a terrorist strike against the U.S. military. In the aftermath of the Khobar Towers bombing in 1996, much of the attention focused on Air Force Brigadier General Terry Schwailer, the on-scene commander at the time of the attack.

That idea hadn't occurred to me; it should have.

After all, a service that'll screw someone like Lt. Col. Kate Germano why and how they did, is capable of all kinds of things.

Doesn't matter: when the real backlash to the SJBs hits, they'll consider it proof of their virtue.  So it's all good!

Hey, it's good when HE does it...
Long time Anti-Gun Advocate State Senator R.C. Soles, 74, shot one of two intruders at his home just outside Tabor City , N.C. about 5 p.m. Sunday, the prosecutor for the politician's home county said.
...
The State Bureau of Investigation and Columbus County Sheriff's Department are investigating the shooting, Gore said. Soles, who was not arrested, declined to discuss the incident Sunday evening.

"I am not in a position to talk to you," Soles said by telephone. "I'm right in the middle of an investigation."
"And I really don't want to be called on my hypocrisy."

Among the reasons son left the Army were

lack of training, constant bullshit, and idiot ROE that seemed designed to get our troops killed.  And yeah, every bit of that crap comes from on high, as in Sodom on the Potomac.

I would say, from what I've read, it's not only the Army; training time seems to be real short everywhere, the Navy is short on ships, the Marines and Air Force seem to be in the same hole on training, and they're all headed by too many high-ranking bosses who seem far more politicians in uniform than soldiers*.  Which reminds me of the family at a funeral for their son, who had written to them before his death about the moronic ROE.  Admiral who'd been in charge of the mess was there, father asked him why the hell the troops were handcuffed this way, and was basically told "It's hard on the troops now, but it should pay off later by not overly upsetting the locals.  We're trying to win their hearts."

How that father avoided kicking the shit out of him, I do not know.

Among the reasons college costs so damn much; the bastards running things keep giving each other more money.

The mess in Baltimore over that guy who died in custody just got messier.

And while people are screaming and moaning about a lion they didn't give a damn about the day before, this is what's going through Congress:
The information they gather, including all the hacked data and any incidental information that happens to get swept up in the process, would be added to massive databases on people in the U.S. and all over the world that the FBI, CIA, and NSA are free to query at their leisure. This is how CISA would create a huge expansion of the “backdoor” search capabilities that the government uses to skirt the 4th Amendment and spy on Internet users without warrants and with virtually no oversight.

All of this information can be passed around the government and handed down to local law enforcement to be used in investigations that have nothing to do with cyber crime, without requiring them to ever pull a warrant. So CISA would give law enforcement a ton of new data with which to prosecute you for virtually any crime while simultaneously protecting the corporations that share the data from prosecution for any crimes possibly related to it.

Sounds like the Denver DA needs a kick in the ass.

Some more of those 'little things'(i.e. 'people murdered by illegal aliens') that Gutierrez doesn't think should bother people.

And if they do bother you, he'll scream and yell and abuse.  Because that's what he does.
Wilkerson led the walkout as soon as Gutierrez began to rage at Vaughan for quoting him as saying a woman’s death at the hands an illegal alien was a “little thing.” Her son, Joshua, pictured with murderer — and “DREAMer” Hermilio Moralez below — died under torture on November 16, 2010, after giving Moralez a ride home. Moralez then tied him up and set him on fire, later bragging in court his “killing skills took over.”

Speaking of some of those wonderful people and their cultures we're supposed to welcome,
— Seventy-seven percent of reported sexual assaults in Lima, Peru, are against child victims, according to the Latin American and Caribbean Youth Network for Sexual and Reproductive Rights (REDLAC).
— A U.N. Special Rapporteur concluded that the only explanation for “the high degree of impunity for violence against women” in Guatemala was that “at least some of the violence was committed by the authorities.”
— CNN reports that 318 10-year-old girls gave birth in Mexico in 2011.
In all of Western Europe, the United States, Canada, Australia and New Zealand combined, there have been eight reported births to girls aged 10 or younger. Seven of the eight involved Third World immigrants.
— The REDLAC report said that girls between the ages of 10 and 15 accounted for more than 15 percent of all births in Argentina and 17 percent of all births in Uruguay.
By contrast, less than 2 percent of births in the U.S. are to girls in that age group — and most of those are Hispanics, who are seven times more likely to give birth between the ages of 10 and 14 than whites, according to a Centers for Disease Control study.

I'm using that to cover everyone

Business owner sets minimum wage at $70k. And it actually causes problems!

Whoda thunk it?(besides anyone who actually thought about it)

Yeah, among other things telling someone who's worked for you for quite a while that someone who just walked in the door gets the same pay kind of pisses off the experienced people for some reason.

I think some judges are getting tired of having their orders ignored:
A federal judge has ordered Hillary Clinton and two of her top aides at the State Department, Huma Abedin and Cheryl Mills, to attest, under penalty of perjury, that they have turned over all official government records in their possession.
Not being a member of the legal profession I'm just guessing, but I think that basically means "If I find out you lied, you WILL be charged."  Which is the kind of thing that should've happened a long time ago.

It's actually kind of nice outside, but the mosquitos are out

No, that's not just an excuse to stay in and work on the new data.  But it would work...

And Eric Holders' and ATFs gift just keeps on giving...

One of the terrorists in the Garland attack got his weapon thanks to Fast & Furious.
The FBI so far has refused to release any details, including serial numbers, about the weapons used in Garland by Soofi and Simpson. Senate investigators are now pressing law enforcement agencies for answers, raising the chilling possibility that a gun sold during the botched Fast and Furious operation ended up being used in a terrorist attack against Americans.

Among other things, Johnson is demanding to know whether federal authorities have recovered the gun Soofi bought in 2010, where it was recovered and whether it had been discharged, according to the letter. He also demanded an explanation about why the initial seven-day hold was placed on the 2010 pistol purchase and why it was lifted after 24 hours.

Asked recently for an update on the Garland shooting, FBI Director James B. Comey earlier this month declined to comment. "We're still sorting that out," he said.
And trying to figure out how to give Holder and ATF and everyone else involved in the 'botched' operation some cover.

You know, the important stuff.

Yeah, but somebody killed a lion(that I never heard of before, but ignore that), and a Kardashian did something,

so who's got time to worry about slavery and mass-murder?

And I guarantee you, there are those thinking "It's largely Christians getting killed and enslaved, serves them right!  Those poor Yazidi, though."

Well, if this is true, no wonder the Terran Branch of Jackson's Whole is so desperate to keep more videos from coming out.

Well, at least there's something the Stupid Party hasn't bent over for.
On July 28, Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WV) admitted his latest gun control push is “going nowhere” because there is zero support for his new gun control push among the Republicans who control the Senate.

Manchin said, “[The] bill’s not going to come back up.”
Good, you nasty little bastard.

Well, it's confirmed: the Navy is run by politicians in uniform

who don't give a rats ass about the lives of their personnel.  Terrorists are all bad an' everything, but BREAKING A RULE FOR ANY REASON CANNOT BE TOLERATED.

You might remember Rep. Gutierrez(Oathbreaking Asshat-IL), who, in true Yassir Arafat fashion, says one thing in English and another in Spanish, told Telemundo “Every time a little thing like this happens, [Republicans] use the most extreme example to say it must be eliminated.”
Said 'little thing' being another murder of an American citizen by an illegal alien, 'it' being sanctuary cities and letting illegal aliens run around without hindrance.

I figured at some point this idiot statement was going to be brought up and he'd get pissed; I was right.  And he followed the usual standard for politician caught on his own words: attack whoever brought it up.

A shooting drill I've never tried at that distance.  Going to have to give it a shot.

 .
