A CNN journalist deleted his tweet and issued an apology after being called out for spreading coronavirus misinformation by critics including former New York Times reporter Alex Berenson.

That's the start, I'm just going to quote a couple of the responses he got:
Berenson slammed Feldscher for sharing such alarming numbers.

"Fact check: you can’t be this dumb," Berenson reacted. "Even if the herd immunity estimate of 60% is right (it’s wrong), this CNN doesn’t know the difference between reported cases and actual infections, which are 10x as high. So his estimate is off by a factor of at least 10x (likely much more)."

Berenson commended Feldscher to taking ownership of his tweet but slammed his news organization for allowing "nonstop panic porn" throughout the pandemic.

"I'm glad he deleted the tweet. If only CNN could go back and delete the last six months of nonstop panic porn... But it's a start," Berenson told Fox News.
Yeah, but panic porn is their big thing, they actually try to stop they'll probably go into withdrawal.

About that range day,

 One of the things shot was the .40-65 that has been mentioned before.  We'd worked up a load of a 400-grain bullet, .060 wad, and 57 grains of 2f Goex black powder fired by a Federal Large Rifle Magnum primer.  Generally shot pretty good.

Then, just as a 'give it a try', loaded some with 58.0 grains in Winchester cases.  And damn.

Eight rounds.  five damn near making one big hole, one about an inch outside, and two I have to blame on myself(last shooting before leaving, getting tired at that point) at 200 yards.  This is definitely going to be tried again.  Very carefully.

Possible that the spread was my fault, especially with three almost in one hole, so it's on the list also.

Range day was had,

 and it was good.  Cool then warming a bit, mostly overcast, almost no wind, almost perfect for trying out some loads.

.45-70, for the rifle in question, using black powder and the old Lyman 500-grain round nose bullet is a fairly hard to beat combination.  I'm wondering if tweaking the OAL might tighten groups a touch, will have to try that.  Interestingly, the Lyman 525-grain Postell shoots best from that rifle with A5744 smokeless(at least so far, there could be some black/OAL/primer combination that would equal or better it).

.300 Blackout, that Hornady 190-grain Sub-X bullet over H4198 stays subsonic and gives good accuracy, and out of friend's Hybrid can it's amazingly quiet.

Guy I know bought a grail gun a few months ago, a double rifle in .450 Black Powder Express, and sent some pictures of finally getting to shoot it.  He's happy.  Now I've got to figure a way to try it out myself.

I need to transcribe some notes before I lose them, and get some cleaning done. 

It seems CNN is promoting the idiot who lost most of his bicep in Kenosha

 as the 'sole survivor of the shooting'.  And there is great whining about the pain, and stress, and so forth.

On 'excess deaths'

This term technically means how many deaths we are currently experiencing relative to the average number of deaths we would typically experience.

But sadly, it has taken on a new meaning for me.

You can't simply subtract the current death tally from the typical value for this time of year and attribute the difference to Covid.

Because of the actions of our governments, we are actually causing excess deaths.

 

Want to kill an old person quickly? Take away their human interaction and contact. Or force them into a rest home with other infected people.

 

Want people to die from preventable diseases? Scare them away from the hospitals, and encourage them to postpone their medical screenings, checkups, and treatments.

 

Want someone who struggles with addiction to fall off the wagon? Take away their job or business. Maybe they will overdose.

 

Want to push people with anxiety over the edge? Force them to stay inside for weeks at a time and scare them to death.

 

Want people to shoot each other more, or go on looting sprees? Keep them cooped up inside for weeks and take away their incomes.

The problem with large scale government mitigations, is that they create the need for more mitigations.

The numbers are clear. By trying to mitigate one problem, we are creating too many others, at too high a price.

Excess deaths.

 

Be it noted: you stick a megaphone in someone's face and start screaming,

you deserve to have it shoved right back in your face.  Multiple times.

And then be hauled away for assault.

There's supposed to be some rain moving in with a cold front,

so the mowing has to get done.  And various other things.  Amuse yourselves for a while.

Once upon a time,

Daughter is always researching stuff for stories. I came across a book that had the old British hangmans tables in it(subject of 'X' weight should have a drop of at least 'Y' distance but no more than 'Z', to the inch yet), and sent a copy of it to her.

While after that I mentioned it to a lady I was going out with. Response:
"You people are WEIRD! If someone sent something like that to me I'd call the police!"

A: Sue the teacher and the school, and find out how long

they've been recording kids without the parents knowledge, and what they've been doing with the recordings; discovery should be interesting.

B: Sue the idiots at the Sheriff's Department; they've definitely proven they are really sorry excuses for peace officers.

This kind of crap has to be stopped.

Due to a work situation

instead of getting some stuff ready to load, or catching the mowing up before the next rain, or going out to try to put some dove in the oven, I'm doing something else.  Which is less fun.

Making a list of "Things I should buy(when I don't have two or three renewals in a month-and-a-half period to eat money), things I should load, things I need to load", and I really need to both finish cleaning the place AND keep it that way(stop laughing, it's possible)...

There's either too much stuff, or not enough time.  Maybe both. 

I think I should make myself stand up and do a little something. 

But I'm sure there will be zero problems with mail-in ballots,

not anywhere at all...

Especially since the postal union has endorsed Biden and said Trump winning might be the end of the Post Office, no, no problems at all.
