if you have, or have access to, a sewing machine.*
Problem: found that when shooting an AR15 or -10, the rear rest that works great on most rifles doesn't work very well. So messed around with some denim fabric and came up with this, which seems to work pretty well.
Note: with nobody around to take pictures, there's not many, I'll try to make the description cover the gaps.
Made a pattern like this,
in this case 4" wide and about 9" tall.
Cut a strip of fabric 2.5" wide. Figure how long it'll need to be to go all the way around, then add a good six inches(or a bit more) because you want extra.
When you lay the first two pieces- one of the body and the strip- together to start, figure on stitching about 1/4" in from the edge. And leave about 3" of the strip sticking out from the corner. Sewing the curves at the top is a bit of a pain, but can be done. When you finish leave the same amount of strip extending out as you did on the first end, and stitch that side together. Reason is that when you're done, those two strip extensions will make the tube you fill this thing through.
When the first side is sewn to the strip, do the other side. Then comes the hard part: turning it rightside-out. I used a pair of needle-nose pliers to help. You have to work the whole thing out through the filler tube, which will take a while, and leaves you with the finished body.
I used a funnel made from the top of a soda bottle to fill it with beans, then ran a big safety pin across the base of the filler tube
to close it.

Nice thing is you can make it more or less solid by adding/removing beans(or whatever you wind up using). And you can make it whatever height suits you. Can make your own front bag as well, same pattern but much shorter.

Because inherent in those terms is a sinister implication: ‘if you disagree with how I think a brown person should think, you’re still a nigger’ – a slave subordinate to the interests of white people. ‘If you disagree with me, you can’t be thinking for yourself’ is the message.
Notice how clunkily it removes agency – depersonalising and dehumanising in turn. Notice how its implications are both racist and arrogant. Racist in supposing that your racial identity should dictate how you think and what you think, rather than being contingent on those two factors. And arrogant in supposing that ‘only blacks who agree with me are doing so out of their own volition’. The idea that a person of colour can disagree without being conditioned to do so is too objectionable to these anti-racists.

The level of stupid some people display is mind-boggling.
A tourist has been bitten by a crocodile after reportedly posing next to the enormous reptile while taking a selfie.
The 41-year-old French woman was visiting Khao Yai national park in Thailand with her husband.
Reports suggest the woman wanted a picture near the crocodile and the pair squatted down near the animal.
The crocodile then reportedly bit the woman in the thigh while the picture was being taken.
Pictures from the scene show the woman being taken away from the area by rescuers.

The group fed cholesterol to rabbits for about four to eight weeks and saw that the cholesterol diet harmed them. They figured they were on to something big.
Rabbits. Pure herbivores. Feed them cholesterol and it's bad(who could ever imagine such a thing?), so "It must be bad for people, too!"
...In passing, the paper noted that while the cholesterol diet harmed rabbits, it had no effect on white rats. In fact, if Anitschkov had focused on any other animal besides the rabbit, the effects wouldn't have been so clear -- rabbits are unusually vulnerable to the high-cholesterol diet.
Yet they kept pushing 'cholesterol is bad!'. And this is the kind of crap the food police have been basing a lot of their demands on. Wonderful, isn't it?

I have discovered Trader Joe's
They opened one here not long ago, and a couple of weeks back daughter took me there after dinner(it was nearby). Much better prices on most things than I'd expected, some very good cheese, and- a nice surprise- some very good chocolate bars.
As in 17.something-ounce bars of either milk, dark, or 70% cacao bars, some with nuts, some plain, for five bucks. Those made some people very happy for Christmas.

last week had a chance to try a few loads, and- having been reminded that a blow tube is a Good Idea, I took one along.
If you're not knowledgeable of the esoterics of what some at Cast Boolits call 'Holy Black', short lesson:
Black powder, at best, produces a lot of fouling. You either need some way to keep it soft, so the next shot will blow it out(while depositing some new), or you have to wipe the bore between shots. A muzzleloader takes are of this by the greased patch wrapped around the ball; you ram it down, and between the grease and the patch it scrubs the stuff loose so it blows out with the next shot.
With a breechloader, there's an option that(should) let you get a few shots before needing to wipe: blow tube. The deluxe version is a cartridge case with a hole drilled through the base so you can insert the end of a plastic tube: just before you load the next round you slowly blow half a dozen breaths through, so the moisture that condenses softens the fouling, then pull the tube, load, aim and fire.
Not having put together a proper tube, I used something suggested by a guy: pick up a bendy straw and use that. Which worked quite well. I'd use it between shots, then after the five-shot group was finished use a couple of Ballistol & water-wet patches to wipe the bore, then a dry patch, then the next group.
Why not just wipe between shots? Big reason is that with this rifle you have to remove the tang sight to do that. So in the future, a proper blow tube it'll be.

How stupid and 'The Government Must Control!' is Sanders?
This fucking stupid.
Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) slammed a plan floated by President-elect Donald Trump to create a “public-private option” for veterans to seek healthcare.
“Privatizing the VA would be an insult to the more than 22 million veterans who risked their lives to defend our country and it would significantly lower the quality of health care they receive,” Sanders said in a statement Friday.
Think about that. ..significantly lower the quality of health care they receive...
Really? HOW, you fucking idiot? By NOT causing people to give up and die because they can't get a Gods-damned appointment? Or NOT having the suicide hotline hang up on them?
And a good many Democrats wanted this socialist asshole in the Oval Office...
