Bunch of whiny grievance-mongering bitches who want to be lawyers
Professor Robert Goldstein asked students to consider the “burn this bi**h down” remarks made by Michael Brown’s step dad after the announcement of the controversial grand jury decision not to indict Ferguson officer Darren Wilson, Fox News reported.
The question on the exam then asked the students to imagine themselves advising the prosecutor on “whether to seek an indictment against” him for inciting violence.
“[As] a recent hire in the office, you are asked to write a memo discussing the relevant First Amendment issues in such a prosecution. Write the memo,” the question read, according to Fox News.
That question resulted in student complaints and online scrutiny. A writer at a popular legal blog wrote that it was “racially insensitive and divisive.”
Because asking law students to consider an actual legal question out in the real world can't be done if it hurts someones' feelings. For any reason, or none.

'Why progressives don't want to question the story', and the excuses
they make.
With a committed group of rape denialists active in our culture, typically made up of "men's rights activists" and conservative anti-feminists, the danger of this type of scandal lies in the potential for a false accusation to crowd out attention to rape writ large. "Rape stories," The Atlantic's Olga Khazan recently wrote, "are a genre that's uniquely unforgiving of inaccuracies."
Here's part of the damn problem: say that an actual investigation is a good idea before you start tying nooses, and you're a 'rape denialist' and/or 'conservative anti-feminist'. Yeah, there's a few nuts out there who say most rape accusations are false; being lumped in with them for saying "Lets get all the facts here" is bullshit.
I guess we could call the nutcases on the other side the Rape Presumption crowd: they assume all men are or want to be rapists and that EVERY accusation is true. They either deny any false accusations, or insist it's a 'proven very small number', or- in the case of the real idiots- that even false accusations, when proven, should be treated as real. Or else the 'apologist' and 'denier bullshit comes out.
On to the excuses:
From both supporters of the original reporting and doubters alike, a central question has emerged: Why did Sabrina Erdely, the story's author, fail to interview any of the accused?

More generally, why did Erdely not do more to vet Jackie's story, which could have potentially saved Erdely, Rolling Stone, and Jackie a great deal of embarrassment and trouble?
Ooh, ooh, can I answer that? But first I'll throw this in too:
Those who are willing to question individual accusations, like Cathy Young, are subject to repeated and vociferous criticism. In such an environment, it's no wonder Erdely felt little urge to interview the alleged assailants. To do so in our media culture was to invite risk and little reward.
Part the First: she didn't do that because doing so might have/would have threatened the Preferred Narrative™; she wanted The Story, and finding out that some of the accusations didn't pan out, well, can't have THAT interfering, now can we?
Either she thought nobody would really dig into this(which was stupid), or that somehow she could get away with it if somebody did(which was insane).
Part the Second: deBoer is forgetting something: Erdley could have/should have done that investigating before she wrote the story; if she had, she wouldn't have had to worry about the name calling, because she wouldn't have (if she's got any brain at all) written the story she did.
One last thing, from further down:

Wonder how many people are going to wind up dead or crippled because of this idiocy?
Few years back Seattle City Council was about to require the FD to do the same thing, and got a whole freakin' parade of firefighters telling them how stupid it was. Including the only woman on the force at the time, who informed them that if they dropped the standards, she'd resign: "If something happens to me I want to know that the firefighter by me can get me out, not go yelling for help because they can't do the job." They backed off, at least at the time.
Yeah, Gruber was the architect, right in the middle of the mess. And he did count on lies and hiding information to get it through. And his only regret is he got caught talking about it.
Consider that all those people he was talking to, supposed future leaders, he figured would approve. And they did.

Yes, the DoJ was involved in the IRS corruption;

A federal judge has broken loose more emails that the DOJ had surely hoped would never surface. The picture it reveals isn’t pretty. The documents prove that Lois Lerner met with DOJ’s Election Crimes Division a month before the 2010 elections.
It has to be embarrassing to the DOJ, which may not be the most impartial one to be investigating the IRS. In fact, the DOJ withheld over 800 pages of Lerner documents citing “taxpayer privacy” and “deliberative privilege.” Yet these internal DOJ documents show Ms. Lerner was talking to DOJ officials about prosecuting tax-exempt entities (yes, criminally!) two years before the IRS conceded there was inappropriate targeting.

They were also sure to leave a signature. The message was intended for delegates from 190 countries at the UN climate talks being held in Lima.
Peru is planning to file criminal charges against the activists before they leave the country. I should damn well hope so.
But fear not! The Greenpeace elites are going to save the day:
Yesterday, Greenpeace apologized for the stunt, saying it was sorry if the protest at the historical site on Monday caused an "moral offense" to the Peruvian people.
"Let's ignore the vandalism and so forth, and just worry about 'moral offense', ok?"
The environmental activist group said it would collaborate with the government to determine if any damage was done to the site,
Why, because the little brown Peruvians can't be expected to determine that on their own? Or because you want to try to minimize the damage?

Waving it away in denial, as Packer tries to do, only announces one’s cluelessness.

While all the usual people are repeating the 'Of COURSE it's an epidemic!' crap, I've got some questions:
How many of those rapes and attempted rapes are feminist rapes("I was drunk/I regret it/He kissed me without permission/I didn't want attention from HIM!)? They've expanded the definition of 'rape' to include so much crap that- if all were equal- a woman touching a man on the arm to express interest could be accused of raping him, or making a sexual assault. Then you have stuff like this someone found on Bookface:
Yes, it happens.
One of the things that really pisses me off about this? Rape is a nasty, horrible crime that deserves nasty, horrible punishment. And every time some bitch screams 'RAPE!' because of regrets or stupid or "I have the power to destroy people, and I want to use it!" it makes it harder to filter out and deal with the real crimes.
Wonder how many zeroes will be on the check they finally have to write?

Maybe feminism can handle it,
but a lot of feminists damn sure can't.
American campus feminists and the majority of people who write for mainstream websites are among the most privileged, the most protected, the freest people on the planet. It is unbecoming, and unproductive, to continue to cling to a sense of invincible unfreedom.
Feminism is not fragile. To borrow from Col. Nathan R. Jessup (Jack Nicholson), it can handle the truth, told straight. Sisterhood is powerful. Instead of devouring their own, feminists should use that power against the real enemies.
Yes, they are; but that sense of invincible unfreedom is HUGELY valuable to them; it defines them, and it gives them power to make demands. They'll never willingly give it up, no matter how much damage it and they cause.
On the Rolling Stone hit piece:
Here’s something that’s also sort of “unfair:” not talking to seven unconvicted, alleged criminals about their involvement in a purported horrendous crime! It is not rude, shaming, or belittling to seek quotes from alleged rapists. Actually, it is what a responsible journalist does, even when it makes said journalist’s source uneasy. And if making a source uneasy makes a journalist uneasy, it’s time for the journalist in question to find another profession.

It is remarkable and depressing how many SlutWalkers, members of The Progressive Internet, and Earnest Feminists, believe that good reporting somehow equates to victim shaming. If you believe that putting the screws to alleged rapists is somehow anti-feminist then you are an intellectual dwarf.
Awful lot of dwarves out there; and these can't produce anything but outrage and hate.

A psychology professor at South Texas College in Weslaco, Texas, was seemingly caught on video last month comparing the tea party to the Nazis of the 1930s in Germany.
He then told his students not to “tell anybody” about his remarks — but one of his students had already started filming after he allegedly called Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) a “bastard” for using the name “Cruz” to win his election.
Holder & Co. would rather see people raped, robbed and dead than a cop catch a bad guy by having the wrong social attitudes(also known as 'not having his head up his ass').
