A couple who fed their daughter an extreme vegan diet have admitted causing her serious injury.
The mother and father, aged 32 and 34 respectively, who cannot be named for legal reasons fed the girl oats and rice milk.
The girl's diet was so restricted that she developed rickets, a degenerative bone disease caused by malnourishment.
How malnourished?
This diet resulted in severe deficiencies in nutrients across the board for the infant, including a lack of calcium, phosphate, vitamin B12, vitamin A, iron and zinc.

When the hippies of Boulder are telling you to shove it,
that should get your attention.
'Should'. But won't, because you're dealing with people who think making honest people criminals for owning politically incorrect firearms is 'common sense gun control'.
Besides the lawsuits currently going on, wonder how this asshat and his friends will deal with it if the cops actually start enforcing this crap?
City attorney Tom Carr has acknowledged that enforcing the ordinance will be a challenge, telling the Boulder Daily Camera that “there’s no circumstance where we go door-to-door and ask people if they’ve violated the law.”
In other words "We want to make criminals of people, but we really don't want to have to arrest them. Because people will get REALLY pissed at us." And I imagine the cops are just loving the idea of being told "None of your fucking business. Now get off my property."

A lot of sheriffs and police chiefs said when this crap was shoved through that they wouldn't enforce it; the state police have been dancing around it, especially in the counties not near NYeffingCity and Albany; Howler knows if he orders them to start actively enforcing it the result will be loud, profane, and aimed at him. And he doesn't have the balls to do it. And all the while honest people who own guns have this garbage hanging over them.

Judges who never punish them for it, or at most tell them they've been bad.
Politicians who, when caught lying, either gloss over it or get mad at you for catching them.
And every one of them bitch and moan because "People don't trust us/support us."
Do these people not realize what damage they've done and are doing? Or do they just not care?

Considering the past history of socialists/communists and declaring people mentally deficient,
every time some leftist starts calling opponents mentally ill or insane, it makes me want to buy another box of ammo. In case they decide I need 'treatment'.
The warped thought process that led to the perversion and weaponization of psychiatry in the Soviet Union can be traced back to the communist icon and thought leader Karl Marx. Marx propounded a spurious doctrine known as “polylogism” to justify stifling dissent. According to Marx, different classes of people had different structures in their minds. Thus, Marx declared the bourgeoisie to be mentally defective because they were inherently unable to comprehend Marx’s (allegedly) revelatory and progressive theories. Since they were, in a sense, insane, there was no valid reason for communists to “waste time” arguing with them. On the contrary, communists were justified in not only ignoring or suppressing bourgeois ideas but in liquidating the entire bourgeois class.
The practice of categorizing one’s enemies as “insane” became a ready tool of suppression in the Soviet state founded by Lenin and developed under Stalin. The USSR’s infamous secret police energetically wielded quack psychiatry as a club with which to destroy political dissidents. If you want more information about how the Soviets kidnapped and misused psychiatry, here is a link to a document that describes what American agents of the USSR were taught about psycho-political techniques in the late 1930s. (The provenance of the booklet is murky, and Soviet apologists have long tried to discredit it, but in light of numerous psychiatric abuses known to have been committed with the approval of the USSR’s rulers, the content of the book is highly plausible.)

By his take, it’s quite possible that the total number of guns is vastly under reported, and the true number is between 329 million and 660 million, with a reasonable guess being 413 million firearms. He could be wrong, but I find his argument compelling.
Having seen the numbers some people have worked out, I strongly suspect the number is on the high end. Or a bit more. I know people who own firearms made in the mid-1800's that still work; take care of things, and they last a loooong time. I've also known people who will NOT buy a gun at a store, because paperwork: they're honest people, no criminal record, so private sales(in America) are legal, and they figure it's none of the damned business of the .gov what they own.*
*I suspect that some immigrants from places where Holy Mother Socialism has been the rule tend to feel the same way; once they're citizens and can legally own arms, were I one of them, I'd try to keep it off the books, too.

Some of those agencies, such as ICE, FBI, US Marshal Service, Secret Service, etc. need to be well armed on the roles of protecting the public. Other agencies such as the IRS and the NIH seem to be over-weaponized, a frightening concept for a government that is supposed to serve the people, not vice versa.

And the inventory information of the NIH was deemed too sensitive to include in a chart (see page 34). Think about that for a moment…Too Sensitive? Does the NIH have covert operations? Do they stop the spread of the flu with a gun? “Stop sneezing, or we’ll blow your brains out?” Give me a break.
And don't forget the friggin' Dept. of Education using armed agents to kick in doors and such. At the wrong address. Because 'investigation'.

After having spent quite a while kissing Sheriff Israel's ass
(because "He's been against armed teachers/the NRA/Stand Your Ground laws", etc.), this paper finally started some real reporting. First(they did throw in all the defenses here as well) by saying "The new Governor should get rid of him", and now this.

Police and border officials are struggling to stop a rising supply of illegal firearms being smuggled into Britain, a senior police chief has warned.
Chief constable Andy Cooke, the national police lead for serious and organised crime, said law enforcement had seen an increased supply of guns over the past year, and feared that it would continue in 2019.
But honest citizens can't have one for self-defense. And if you want one for target shooting or hunting, you get an anal exam while they decide if your reasons/storage/mind all meet their 'standards', and then they can yank your license at any time, for no reason.
Simon Brough, head of firearms at the NCA, said: “The majority of guns being used are new, clean firearms ... which indicates a relatively fluid supply.”
He said shotguns were 40% of the total, with an increase in burglaries to try and steal them(.gov response: "We need to ban shotguns, those commoners shouldn't have them, because then they couldn't be stolen!). Handguns are the next biggest category, most often smuggled in from overseas, with ferry ports such as Dover being a popular entry point into the UK for organised crime groups: “We’re doing a lot to fight back against it,” Brough said, adding that compared to other European countries, the availability in the UK was relatively lower.

Compared to 2015/16, there has been a 67% increase in the capital alone.

A short version of the Dad problem
He fell, and landed on both knees. Ambulance to the hospital, where one thing they did not do was a MRI. So almost two weeks later at a rehab facility, with almost zero progress, that was finally ordered, and found the tendons torn loose from the kneecaps.
Surgery.
Several weeks in upper thigh-to-ankles braces to keep the legs from bending. Then into shorter braces that allow some motion; still needs a walker, but can actually walk.
Couple of weeks of that, then a roundabout trying to get some word on when the motion would be increased. FINALLY get something done, braces adjusted, and he's walking much better, and can seat himself and get up from a regular toilet.
Few points here I'd have liked to address some of the problems with a club, but he's doing a lot better, and should be home within a couple of weeks.

Their motive is self-interest that weighs their campaign dollars against children’s lives and finds the latter wanting.
It's what they do. Disagree on something touching on women, you're a misogynist; about anything involving non-whites*, you're a racist. And on, and on.
*I effing hate the term 'people of colour', as Larry Correia once said it's just a PC way of saying colored people.

The young, the old and the disabled cluster around the lone Western

When the video of the assault was played, an attorney for one of
Felarca’s co-defendants said he was concerned about “editing and authentification.”
I’ve posted this video probably half a dozen times before. It clearly shows Felarca throwing punches at this guy. And given that she’s the leader of this mob, it’s not surprising other people follow her lead. The idea that this video isn’t reliable is a fantasy. Felarca’s attorney’s keep claiming she’s being targeted for her views but she’s being targeted because she was dumb enough to get caught being violent on video.
People have been telling cops for years that "Anything you do is likely to be on video; someone's phone, security cameras, your own car or body cam." The leftists better get used to the idea that that goes for them, too.

It is a win
In a small win for gun owners, a New York court has ruled that owning an out of state gun permit is not enough “cause” for a New York cop to search a vehicle.
Which is as it should be. However, this part really pisses me off:
During my traffic stop, I videoed the interactions with the officer. When the officer searched the vehicle, he deleted the video. (We were, however, able to recover fragments with the help of Northeastern Cyber Data Recovery). Upon the DA’s office finding out we had recovered the video they ceased to deny that the officer had a DashCam video and it suddenly became available.
The cop illegally deleted the video, and the prosecutor lied under oath. Chances of them being punished for these crimes: just about zero.
What SHOULD happen:
Cop loses badge.
Prosecutor loses law license and job.
Because until both clowns and their type start getting real punishment, they'll just keep doing these things.

Case of "I'm agreeing with Democrats, but for the wrong reason
from their view:
Letting legislators bring guns onto the U.S. Capitol grounds or into their offices hasn’t been a problem for 242 years. But Democrats are now promising to end that practice when they retake control of the House of Representatives next month.
The Democrats want to end it because they don't want anyone except .gov minions with badges to have guns. I want it to end because "If you asshats don't want to let the commoners carry in DC, YOU CAN'T EITHER."
I would add "And, since they insist "We have police, you don't need a gun", I'll add in "No politician should be allowed to hire private security or get special consideration from the police, Secret Service, or anyone else beyond that which an average citizen gets."
