Perhaps we need to remind the would-be House leadership why they should continue to steer clear of earmarks.
How about this, Boehner: you clowns played games with the Evil Party for years to prop each other up, to keep the game going, and it got you kicked out of power; now you think we're going to forget it all in a year? The Delaware State Police have been conducting secret background checks of some gun owners since 2001, a process known as "superchecks" that may violate federal law.
The checks have resulted in confiscation of weapons, some for legitimate reasons, but have subjected many citizens to a search of mental health records that in most cases police would be unable to access.
I don't think I'd like living in Delaware under the authority of these clowns.

Damn, I need to keep better track of some things
On this day in 1787, the Constitution was signed by the delegates to the Constitutional Convention.

On one hand, the idea of burning a book -- any book -- leaves me cold. A book is knowledge made tangible; it is far more than just ink, paper, glue and leather: it is ideas, dreams, hopes, fantasies ... it is all those things that make us human -- those that separate us from animals -- distilled into an object one can touch.
To burn a book is to spurn those ideas, those hopes; to reject those things that do separate us from animals, and to symbolically reject at least a small part of our humanity.

Especially a book as widely-printed as the Qur'an. Mr Dikötter, who has been studying Chinese rural history from 1958 to 1962, when the nation was facing a famine, compared the systematic torture, brutality, starvation and killing of Chinese peasants to the Second World War in its magnitude. At least 45 million people were worked, starved or beaten to death in China over these four years; the worldwide death toll of the Second World War was 55 million.
Mr Dikötter is the only author to have delved into the Chinese archives since they were reopened four years ago. He argued that this devastating period of history – which has until now remained hidden – has international resonance. "It ranks alongside the gulags and the Holocaust as one of the three greatest events of the 20th century.... It was like [the Cambodian communist dictator] Pol Pot's genocide multiplied 20 times over," he said.
I know most of you already know at least some of this; it's amazing how much the 'education' machine in this country and Europe has worked to cover this crap up, or give it 'perspective'(i.e. make excuses for the commie murderers).

The magnitude of this EPA decision on new and renewal permits in Appalachia will cost American jobs and put mom and pop operators out of business."
Pyle was referring to Obama's 2008 statement that his energy and environmental policies would "necessarily skyrocket" consumer costs for energy.

Yes, the Obama/NSD plan: when people are on to you,
change the words to make it sound different.
From the administration that brought you "man-caused disaster" and "overseas contingency operation," another terminology change is in the pipeline.
The White House wants the public to start using the term "global climate disruption" in place of "global warming" -- fearing the latter term oversimplifies the problem and makes it sound less dangerous than it really is.
Translation: "Far too many people know about the AGW crap being, well, crap. So we'll have to rename things to try to get our control bills shoved through."
"They're trying to come up with more politically palatable ways to sell some of this stuff," said Republican pollster Adam Geller, noting that Democrats also rolled out a new logo and now refer to the Bush tax cuts as "middle-class tax cuts."
He said the climate change change-up likely derives from flagging public support for their bill to regulate emissions. He said the term "global warming" makes the cause easy to ridicule whenever there's a snowstorm.
"Every time we're digging our cars out -- what global warming?" he said. "(Global climate disruption is) more of a sort of generic blanket term, I guess, that can apply in all weather conditions."
It's unclear why Holdren prefers "global climate disruption" over "climate change," the most commonly used alternative to "global warming."
Because so many people have come to see that 'climate change has been their answer for EVERYTHING; EVERYTHING that happens in the weather was supposed to be due to 'climate change' and WE were causing it all, so our betters wanted to be handed the power to control our lives in all ways because they could then control 'climate change'. Etc. ad Bullshit. Back in the cold, snowy winter they kept saying "You have to understand, this is 'weather', not 'climate'!", and as soon as it got hot "GLOBAL WARMING! CLIMATE CHANGE!"

Well, that turns it from a general story to a 'Damn!'
On September 4, a local investment banker caught the 12-foot tiger shark while on a deep-sea fishing trip and he said a left leg popped out of its mouth as they hauled it in.
When officers cut the shark open, they found the right leg, two severed arms and a severed torso.
