The Children’s Secretary set out £400million plans to put 20,000 problem families under 24-hour CCTV super-vision in their own homes.
They will be monitored to ensure that children attend school, go to bed on time and eat proper meals.
Private security guards will also be sent round to carry out home checks, while parents will be given help to combat drug and alcohol addiction.
David Drake wrote a book some years back called Lacey and his Friends; think of Orwell taken to extreme. Like I say, I'm half thinking someone in the Brit government read it and thought it was a good idea.
Drake must be either horrified or sitting there thinking "Dammit, I knew someone would get to this."

Hopefully, this is voluntary.
That said, like HMA's & CCR's, anyone who voluntarily puts themselves and their families in this, deserves whatever they get.

Voluntary?
Yeah voluntary like refusing to volunteer for the program that is so obviously 'for the children' is prima-facie evidence that you already are abusing your children and need more drastic measures taken.
Guard duck, you have it about right. of course it's free choice, the alternative to making the "right" decision is too frightening to contemplate.
