Something learned

6.0 of Green Dot under a 100-grain wadcutter or semi-wadcutter, in 7.62x54r, does this.
Same load with appropriately-sized bullets in .30-06 gives velocity over 1200fps, and lousy groups.  More like 'patterns'.  That load is going to have to be reduced, probably two grains, for that cartridge for further trial.

A couple of experiments were tried with .45-70, results to come.  Right now stuff in the yard and garage needs doing.

Twitter is free to shut down any user they want;, and we can point out

what damned slimeballs Twitter is run by.

They've found bones in the Antikythera shipwreck.

Yes, I still need to write the range stuff.  Later today.  Promise.

Chemical weapons used by the bad guys(again), and the attitude seems to be

"Well, what do you expect of those people?"

'Red lines', anyone?

And what happens when some 'known wolf' uses them here?

Yes, sometimes sending your kid to public school involves child abuse

Kyler was at school—Coldwater Community Schools in Branch County, Michigan—when he discovered the knife. He promptly told a counselor about it.

He was suspended for one full year.

School officials later decreased the duration of his suspension to 30 days, according to wwmt.com:
The issue wasn't just contained to the classroom; it also spilled over on to the football field. Davies tells us the school tried to keep her son from playing football.

"The school told me he could not go on their property, he could not play; he can't ride the bus with his team because it's a Coldwater bus," she said.

We spoke with Coldwater Rocket Football, the organization that runs the local football program. It is independent of the district and tells us the school wanted the rocket program to kick Kyler off the team, but they refused.
A: Rocket Football, good for you.
B: Coldwater Community Schools, you're run by fucking idiots.  "Do the right thing and we'll still screw you.  Because Safety."  Although the proper spelling would be 'Stupidity'.

'Any day at the range, etc.'

Though with temps and humidity like this, it does start draining the fun away after a while.

Range report later, right now I have tea to drink and brass to tumble.

Question is, is this something new

or is it just being reported now?  Probably like here in the US, a mix.

'Feminism' in action.   The toxic version that ruins lives.

When the 'news' changes what someone said.  Because "We know what he really meant."

Apparently, to Vox and Politico, since there weren't a bunch of bodies left behind, no big deal and don't get all upset.

He REALLY struck the squealing pig, didn't he?

About that 'off-duty cop' who shot the one terrorist,

USPSA Shooter,  3-Gunner, and NRA-certified firearms instructor Jason Falconer has been identified as the man who shot and killed a 22-year-old Somali immigrant who went on a stabbing rampage inside a St. Cloud, (MN) Mall on Saturday.
...Falconer is the president and owner of Tactical Advantage LLC, a shooting range and tactical training facility with a strong focus on arming concealed carriers. He’s also a former chief of the Albany (MN) police department, and he remains a part-time officer.
But the important part to most of the media is 'part-time officer'.
It’s almost as if the media is attempting to cover up the fact that creating and training armed citizens is a major part of the man who took out the terrorist in a MN mall this weekend.
Yeah, I wonder why...

Speaking of self-defense and terrorists, this must've had the EUnuchs rushing for microphones to call her names.
The leader of the populist Alternative for Germany (AfD) party has spoken out in favor of people arming themselves with guns and self-defense devices following a series of violent attacks last month.
“Many people are increasingly feeling unsafe. Every law-abiding citizen should be in a position to defend themselves, their family and their friends,” Frauke Petry told the Funke Media Group in an interview published on Saturday. “We all know how long it takes until the police can get to the scene, especially in sparsely populated places,” she said.

It's not a simple 'lack of gun knowledge', it's deliberate ignorance

combined with lying.

If they could be proved to know everything pointed out here, they'd still make the claims.  Because guns are icky, and right-thinking leftists hate them(when they're not in the hands of paid security guards or the government) and the people who own them.

They're 'powerless' mostly because most of them don't have the balls to do anything to stop him.

Oh, but it's such a convenient way to shut people up, isn't it?  "Do you want people to get hurt?  That's what you're saying when you criticize us for this, it's necessary for safety!"

I think that professor is either outraged that some lowly student would dare speak to him so, or cleaning the crap out of his pants.  Sir, I salute you.

On occasion I find myself almost forced to use bad language, and this is one of them

How fucking stupid is MSNBC?  This fucking stupid:
We're also very very lucky that the attackers tried to use explosives rather than guns.
— Christopher Hayes (@chrislhayes)
He probably thinks the stabbings in the mall were must less bad than if those people had been shot.  Because guns are really icky, but bombings and stabbings are less so.

'Professional Journalism' on full stupid display.

My opinion of the media is not high to start with, and this crap

is not helping.
Press: OH MY GOD Trump said it was a bomb!!!11!
Hillary: I've been briefed on the bombings.
Press: 😑

So she and her campaign are thieves, targeting those who can least afford it.
Hillary Clinton’s campaign is stealing from her poorest supporters by purposefully and repeatedly overcharging them after they make what’s supposed to be a one-time small donation through her official campaign website, multiple sources tell the Observer.

The overcharges are occurring so often that the fraud department at one of the nation’s biggest banks receives up to 100 phone calls a day from Clinton’s small donors asking for refunds for unauthorized charges to their bankcards made by Clinton’s campaign. One elderly Clinton donor, who has been a victim of this fraud scheme, has filed a complaint with her state’s attorney general and a representative from the office told her that they had forwarded her case to the Federal Election Commission.
And if you think it's some kind of accident,
“We don’t investigate fraudulent charges unless they are over $100,” the fraud specialist explained. “The Clinton campaign knows this, that’s why we don’t see any charges over the $100 amount, they’ll stop the charges just below $100. We’ll see her campaign overcharge donors by $20, $40 or $60 but never more than $100.” The source, who has worked for Wells Fargo for over 10 years, said that the total amount they refund customers on a daily basis who have been overcharged by Clinton’s campaign “varies” but the bank usually issues refunds that total between $700 and $1,200 per day.

The fraud specialist said that Clinton donors who call in will attempt to resolve the issue with the campaign first but they never get anywhere. “They will call the Clinton campaign to get their refund and the issue never gets resolved. So they call us and we just issue the refund. The Clinton campaign knows these charges are small potatoes and that we’ll just refund the money back.”

I’m not making this up. Google officially associates “There is no hope” with Hillary Clinton.

I can’t disagree. Artificial intelligence has truly arrived and this is its first act?

Incidentally, you can get the real (non-Hillary) shirt on Amazon here. For some reason it’s only available in women’s sizes. Apparently (at least on Amazon) there’s no “There is no hope” t-shirt for men. As a man I find that strangely reassuring.

It rather pisses me off when a female teacher molests a male student

and gets off with a light- or no- sentence in circumstances for which a male teacher molesting a female student would be thrown under the jail(and rightly so).  So it's nice when an article points out just what bullshit this is.
...Yesterday, 21-year-old Jade Hatt walked out of court with a suspended sentence after being convicted of unlawful sexual activity with a child. The leniency was explained in part by mitigating testimony that the victim was “sex mad” and ‘“fully up for the experience”. The encounter was a “notch on his belt” and he was “totally unaffected by it”. The victim was just 11 years old.
...
Last month Caroline Berriman, a 30-year-old teaching assistant was convicted on three counts of illegal sexual activity with a child. Headlines led with the words “Glamorous teaching assistant spared jail”. With these words, coverage of sexual offences committed against a child was framed around the attractiveness of the offender. Only after her courageous victim had appeared on television to explain how his life had been shattered by the crime did the reporting of the case begin to change tone. Suddenly the papers went from describing it as “an affair” to saying, more accurately, that he had been groomed.
That's in Britain; no shortage of it here, either.
In a plea deal brokered between defense attorney Gregory P. Isaacs and Knox County Assistant District Attorney General Rachel Russell, Serena Milan, 28, received a probationary sentence. Milan received 10 years probation on six felony counts of sexual battery by an authority figure and 22 felony counts of exploitation of a minor.
Think a male teacher would've gotten a deal like that?

Lessons from San Bernardino

It ends with a downright sucky fact:
(5) As I’ve said before, “rescue” is mostly myth. The attack will likely be over long before even the first police arrive, much less the SWAT Team. In the interim, you’re on your own!

If this information is correct, then every jailor and cop involved should be prosecuted for murder.  Nobody dies of dehydration in a freaking JAIL without anybody noticing.

The Interstellar Woman of Mystery has a series of posts up at Sara Hoyt's blog on Solar, Space, and Geomagnetic Weather, the current one being V: Solar Activity and the Activity Indices.  Interesting reading.

Snork...
but thanks for whitesplaining my state of mind.Aways love it when privileged white ladies do that

Not a bombing, but I think it adds to the list

At least eight people were taken to a hospital with injuries after a stabbing attack at a Minnesota shopping mall that ended with the suspected attacker, who reportedly made references to Allah, shot dead by an off-duty police officer, authorities said.
...
During the news conference, Anderson said the attacker who was armed with a knife made references to Allah during the attack and asked at least one person whether they were Muslim.
Baptist.  Maybe Amish, one of those nasty conservative/libertarian types.

But we mustn't jump to any conclusions
He declined to call the attacks an act of terrorism, saying the motive for the attacks isn't known yet. 'We will be diligent and get to the bottom of this,' Anderson said.
And in the end they'll probably follow the current template: "If you can't prove they were directly connected to ISIS or al Qaeda, then at worst it was a 'lone wolf' thing and you can't really call it a terrorist attack."

Mayor de Blasio called the explosion an “intentional act,’’ but

not believed to be connected to terrorism.
 Oh, of course not.
But tensions only rose when, three hours after the blast, a second device was found four blocks away — a pressure cooker that an early investigation found was likely also a bomb.
So that's two blasts, and a third bomb, in one day.  Couple of months after someone stepped on a 'fireworks experiment' in a park. And pressure cookers, where have we heard that before...

It just finished raining some more; and it may be cooler, but the humidity

is enough to let minnows swim around out there.  So indoors for study it is

Sooner or later, this crap is really going to bite these idiots in the ass,

and I hope to know about it when it does.
41 Action News reported that the Overland park police department that arrested him in 2013 said didn’t notify ICE because, “it could be considered profiling because a lot of people of all races are arrested without a proper ID.”
And what did this poor illegal alien do this time?
A twice-arrested illegal immigrant killed a Kansas sheriff’s deputy on Sunday, a source with knowledge of the case told The Daily Caller.

Adrian Espinosa-Flores, 38, was charged Monday with involuntary manslaughter after he allegedly was driving drunk and crashed his pickup truck into a patrol car stopped on the side of the road. The crash killed Johnson County (Kansas) Sheriff’s Department Master Deputy Brandon Collins, 45.
Well, Thank You, Overland Park PD, for your contribution to this crap.  I hope the idiots involved, which includes the brass behind this, lose a lot of sleep over this.  It's the least you deserve.

But I'm sure we're not supposed to get too upset about this...

An explosive device went off in a garbage pail Saturday morning along the route of a 5K run and walk to benefit military soldiers.

Multiple devices were also found "wired together" in the same garbage pail, but they did not detonate, according to Al Della Fave, spokesman for the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office.

The explosion occurred along the route of the Seaside Semper Five Marine Corps Charity 5K at around 9:30 a.m.
No casualties; the reason being
The start of the run was delayed, which "thankfully avoided a large number of runners in the area," the statement said.
Somehow I don't think this is going to turn out to be a disaffected Amish or someone of conservative/libertarian bent.

Among the reasons I call asset forfeiture 'theft under color of law',

Concerned by the lack of transparency surrounding the NYPD's civil forfeiture program, NYC councilmember Ritchie Torres introduced legislation this year that would require annual reports from the police department about how much money it seizes, but at Thursday's hearing, the NYPD said it has no technologically feasible way to track seized money that was ultimately not pursued through asset forfeiture. From The Village Voice:
"Attempts to perform the types of searches envisioned in the bill will lead to system crashes and significant delays during the intake and release process," said Assistant Deputy Commissioner Robert Messner, while testifying in front of the council's Public Safety Committee. "The only way the department could possibly comply with the bill would be a manual count of over half a million invoices each year."

When asked by councilmember Dan Garodnick whether the NYPD had come to the hearing with any sort of accounting for how much money it has seized from New Yorkers this past year, the NYPD higher-ups testifying simply answered "no."
This is bullshit.  From a clapped-out bull, at that.  They actually expect everyone to believe they don't keep track of this?  You've got two choices:
NYPD is lying
or
NYPD is run by incompetents.
Take your pick.

I'm going with the first choice.
...According to the scant records Bronx Defenders did manage to get back, the NYPD reported more than $6 million in revenue in 2013 from seized cash, forfeitures, and property sold at auction, and it had a balance of more than $68 million in seized currency in any given month of that year.
My guess is they're lying their ass off because they don't want to admit just how much money they're stealing; that's probably a big bite out of their budget, and they don't want to have to answer for it.

And Fecesbook does it again

Let me log in and post normally this morning, now it's back to "You have to down load our av", etc.

Screw 'em.
