Same crap is happening due to illegal aliens in this country; they're willing to work for wages others won't, which causes some employers to hire them cheap, which screws with the labor market and throws all kinds of other costs onto the states and federal government. And I consider a lot of the politicians helping the illegal alien lobby for the sake of influence, votes and damaging the US to be the moral equals of the bastards in the 1800's who defended slavery in the south. The only difference is the illegals could leave any time they want, but the dirtbags are making it worth their while to stay here and cause problems, paying them off with OPM.

He said something about lots of people being backed-up, and was told that a customer who'd come in to pick up an order mentioned going by the Cabala's and Bass Pro in(I think) Reno, and the lines of people waiting to buy firearms, ammo and associated stuff were, well, amazing.
Something I'd like to see someone ask Obama: "Mr. President, considering the numbers of people buying guns, magazines(y'know, you call them 'clips'?) and ammunition, most of whom say flatly they will not surrender them, how many people are you willing to see killed or imprisoned in trying to enforce any ban that might be passed?"
Can you imagine his thoughts? And what he might say to try to talk around that?

Facebook is suspending user accounts that question the official narrative behind the Sandy Hook school massacre, following a warning by Connecticut State Police spokesman Lt. J. Paul Vance that “misinformation” posted on social media sites could result in prosecution.
Tell you what, Vance, let's see you threaten to investigate and prosecute the various media outlets who've published bullshit under the heading of 'news' before you start threatening people for questioning the Official Story.

Backstory: in response to various "Don't you care about the children?" and "It only happens in the US!" and "We don't have a violence problem here!" from someone in (fG)Britain I'd posted some links to Brit news sites talking about the huge increases in violent crime in general and crimes involving firearms in particular
I dont think britan has a serious gun problem at all, nor here in ireland, but we dont have a gun culture here, i have been to america many times and i know for a fact that the rest of the world thinks america has all these shootings because there are too many guns floating around plain and simple. Sorry..i know its a sensitive subject with some of you but thats just most peoples veiw over this side.

On the primary there, to put it bluntly, I don't give a rats back end what 'the rest of the world' thinks.
Second, ignore the links, ignore the information, go ahead; it doesn't change the facts.
Britain once had a gun culture; your government worked hard to eradicate it, and they've mostly succeeded; along with making self-defense pretty much a crime for which you can go to jail; why in the name of any deity you might care about would we want to follow you down that path? As to 'the rest of the world', does that include all the countries with violent crime rates that dwarf ours? Governments that rule, instead of being ruled by the people? The UN that wants the commoners disarmed because it'll make them easier to give orders to? There are reasons that a lot of us tell 'the rest of the world' to go take a flying leap, and this is just one of them.
That right to arms we defend, our views on it, started from English common law(that which your government has trashed in many respects); that you've given it up, to me, does not say good things about you.
Which wound up leading to
Aw for fucks sakes dude. Gimme the excuse for killing innocent kids. It's always in the states! There is no excuse. NONE!
Which rather pissed me off:
Ok, I'm a bit tired of being polite: where the effing HE#LL do you see me making an excuse for ANY MURDER, you clown?

in which they said 'the real reason behind the assault weapons ban was to get people used to the idea of a gun being banned because of the name', or term, something like that? Was said after the Clinton ban sunsetted.

In fact, if you are honest, they are impossible to avoid.

The previous time, she had more pressing business, tasting wine in Australia and checking up on East Timor.
It looks like avoidance of responsibility to preserve her own political viability.
The NYT is not “perpetuating myths,” it is consciously and knowlingly lying with malice aforethought in an effort to push through various gun ban and confiscation laws which it greatly desires.
To pretend that they are making error in good conscience is the myth that needs to be destroyed here. None of the facts Carney so painstakingly lays out here – and this is only the ten thousandth, or ten millionth, time these facts have been carefully and publicly, pointed out – are hard to come by. In fact, if you are honest, they are impossible to avoid.
The NYT is not honest. It knows full well the truth of the matter, and it knows full well that it tells lies rather than the truth.

The prime minister, Jean-Marc Ayrault, described Depardieu's behaviour as pathetic and unpatriotic at a time when the French are being asked to pay higher taxes to reduce a bloated national debt.

"I am leaving because you believe that success, creation, talent, anything different must be sanctioned," he said.
Seems the socialists are outraged that a bunch of people who've succeeded are taking the option of moving out of 'Punish The Rich' France(kind of like Maryland and other states here) rather than pay the "We won't let you keep what you earned" taxes.
"Who are you to judge me, I ask you Mr Ayrault, prime minister of Mr Hollande? Despite my excesses, my appetite and my love of life, I remain a free man," Depardieu wrote.
First, I'd say that those 'excesses, appetite and love of life are PART of being a free man, and nothing to apologize for;
Second, I'd still like to know of the President of France, rich bastard himself, is paying the 75% tax? Or is there some way out of it for the 'more equal than others' bastard?

Let's remember, while Bloomberg & Co. are lecturing us
about the need to be unarmed(while surrounded by police and private armed guards), Bloomberg is the jerk who told the elderly to turn off their a/c during a bloody hot
summer because 'the room will cool down quickly when you turn it back
on', while he had city employees build a frame in which to mount a room
a/c so it could be set up in his cars' window, because 'Mayor Bloomberg
doesn't like getting into a hot car.'
And then you get to his hypocrisy on food, while he stuffs himself on what he lectures others not to eat.

Transit authorities in cities across the country are quietly installing microphone-enabled surveillance systems on public buses that would give them the ability to record and store private conversations, according to documents obtained by a news outlet.
The systems are being installed in San Francisco, Baltimore, and other cities with funding from the Department of Homeland Security in some cases, according to the Daily, which obtained copies of contracts, procurement requests, specs and other documents.
The use of the equipment raises serious questions about eavesdropping without a warrant, particularly since recordings of passengers could be obtained and used by law enforcement agencies.
"Warrant? We don't need no stinkin' warrant, we're FEDS!"
Speaking of feds, some people want to know what the EPA has been saying in their violation-of-regs secret e-mail accounts set up to get past the law.
I've only flown a couple of times, and since I don't like the idea of being either irradiated or groped by TSA I won't again unless I have to; I'll have to make sure, in that case that it's not on Delta Airlines. That this crap happened at all is horrible; that they're trying to just make it go away instead of doing something is disgusting.
Bitched about the 'theft under color of law' that is the death tax yesterday; this time it's the all too often nothing-but-theft-under-color-of-law known as asset forfeiture:

Though the state is expected to appeal the ruling, Pellegrini’s decision may set a new precedent for these types of cases, making it more difficult for the state to seize private property believed to have been used in a crime and guaranteeing defendants the chance to be heard in court before property is taken.

Why not limit mortgage-interest deductions to just one loan under $100,000 — while ending tax breaks altogether for second and third vacation houses?

If you leave government and immediately make more than $1 million, why not pay a 50 percent tax on your income for five years — given that “somebody else made that happen”? Why does Google have tax havens in the Caribbean, and why do six-figure-income college presidents have their taxes paid by their universities?
