Well, they kneecapped Sanders, so

why would doing the same to others be a surprise?

As Townhall's Elizabeth Yore reports, "69 GOP (and 1 Dem) [voted] for the bill and 77 Dems and Independents [voted[ against an FGM bill that would criminalize female genital mutilation."
The defense is "It doesn't happen here!", but some slight problems with that.

What happens when the people in charge actually want to win, instead of doing continual virtue-signaling:
"The Russian high command in Syria assured us it was not their people, and my direction to the chairman was for the force, then, to be annihilated," Mattis said. "And it was."

'All about and by the children'?  My ass it is.
Here is the principal of Fleming Island High School in Clay County, Florida confiscating Gadsden flags that students had brought to counter the heavily Anti Gun activity of March 24 of this year.
...
In Marion County, School Superintendent, Dr Heidi Maier has been identified as the one organizing the county-wide March of Our Lives the same date. It is being said that she gave orders to teachers to engage themselves in organizing “events”, to create and distribute polls to be taken by students, what they were supposed to talk about with the students during those “events” and even “convince them” to take the poll since this was supposed to be a student-driven initiative and the students may have been less than enthusiastic about more politics.

One of the questions asked by the teachers during the talks had to do about what the state and federal governments could do to avoid violence in schools, a not so disingenuous way to call for more Gun Control. At least in one school, Belleview High School, the first question had to do with instituting mental health checks as requisite to buy firearms.

My Sentiment.  Go read, here's a taste:
I am an angry, vengeful, mean fucking person.  The only way to stop your people from being put into mass graves is to put the people who are trying to put you into mass graves in mass graves.
It doesn’t sound noble but it is the undeniable lesson of history.
I think you'll approve of the ending.

"Change your corporate culture to what we consider a more socially-acceptable form,

or else."
That sounds like Amalgamated Bank needs to be investigated.  And sued.

How bad has (formerly Great)Britain become?  This bad.  This is what happens when you insist on blaming objects for what people do.

Kim has something to say about the current leftist attacks both on conservatives/libertarians and any leftist who reveals themselves to be anywhere right of Castro.  Language warning, here's a taste:
Fucking hell: I enjoy a good show as much as anyone, but when Leftists are pilloried by other Leftists for being not Left enough — when the first Leftists stand to the left of Joseph Stalin to begin with — I start to get a sinking feeling about all this. Some people are treating this as a spectator sport: “Go ahead! Let’s all get the popcorn while the Left devours itself!” Well, it may be oh-so amusing, but what happens if this bunch of loony Commies gets their hands on the levers of power?

Laughing my ass off.
A self-described "real Indian" who is running against Mass. Democratic Sen. Elizabeth Warren is suing after city officials demanded he take down his signs calling her a "fake Indian."

The upstart independent Senate challenger, Shiva Ayyadurai, on Sunday filed a federal lawsuit alleging that the demand from the city of Cambridge violates his constitutional free speech rights, according to The Washington Times.
This has to be causing some heartburn for the PC crowd: "Warren's a good socialist and a womyn, but he's a Colo- er, Person of Colour, so how can we criticize him?"

The Broward County SO: "We can't do our actual jobs, but we can harass non-threating students and loot the taxpayers real well!"

Government-run health care

In Britain the death penalty is illegal. In Britain euthanasia is illegal. In Britain 30 policeman are standing guard outside Alfie Evans’ room to ensure his court ordered death proceeds uninterrupted.
"The State will decide when your useless child dies, citizen.  Shut up and stop causing problems."

And the left wants this here.

More of the Australian Model the left loves so much

...Although the same Victrix bolt-action rifle is marketed in the US as suitable for uses including “military” and “law enforcement”, in Australia the Victrix (and similar weapons) are categorised with firearms licensed for hunting and sport.
Gun control advocates have dubbed the Victrix guns “high-powered and military-style”. They warn that an increasing range of these guns – which still have design specifications that allow them to be classified as sporting and hunting firearms – have hit the Australian market.

Gun Control Australia has called for a rewrite of weapons classifications, which the group says are outdated and do not properly codify modern hi-tech guns.
Because bolt-action rifles are just as bad to these clowns as semi-auto, and they want ALL of them banned.

But they assure us the looooove diversity

Alas, I had forgotten Owens is African-American and conservative. That admixture produced the usual assortment tolerant campus activists convinced that a successful black man simply isn’t diverse enough to speak on their campus — and he shouldn’t be telling them that hard work is the key to success. Thus, the Q&A portion of the speech went… well, predictably.

“What was your name again?” one student asked.

After Owens repeated his name, she responded, “Thought it was Tom.”
Yeah.  Because working your ass off to succeed, and telling others they can do it, makes you the House Negro to these shitstains.

Why yes, I am using bad language; these idiots earned it.

Scenes from the range

Guy had been banned from the range, oh, two days before.  For breaking several rules, and lying about it.  And then shows up thinking- apparently- "Nobody will remember."

Oh yes, there's a note on your record.  That's a surprise?

And then he argued with the guy who informed him of this.  And then argued with the manager.  Because all that 'safety rules' crap shouldn't apply to him.

Yes, it does, asshat.  Which is why, if you try coming back again, you'll be told 'No'.

Happier scenes: a number of first-time shooters in the last few days, and every one of them left with that smile.  Very excellent.

I will note that we got a S&W M&P Compact .22 several months ago, and that thing has been used a lot, and there have been precisely three problems:
One idiot decided to 'adjust' the rear sight and lost the screw.
Two idiots decided to mess with the takedown latch and partially disassembled it("It just stopped working!")
It's kept ticking along quite nicely on a diet of Mini Mags, and all who've shot it seem to like it.

Speaking of S&W, they seem to have a problem on some guns with either not tightening some things like they should(revolver ejector rods coming loose), or using threadlocker on things they shouldn't(takedown screw on some semi-auto pistols) and not where they should(the fitting on the barrel that said screw goes into).  They really need to change that.

Schumer and Warren re hypocritical asshats;

this is a surprise?

About the 'nasty bitch at Fresno State' post

No, I don't want her forbidden from speaking.  Don't particularly want her fired.  But I'm not going to shed any tears because the university gets lots of "Screw it, I don't want my money going to pay this vile being" calls from people who don't like what she said.

YETI has decided that the NRA is full of nasty people

and it doesn't want to be associated with them.  Well, screw YETI; there's other very good coolers out there.

The Southern Poverty Lies Center is finally getting the pushback it deserves

The Southern Poverty Law Center has removed the “Field Guide to Anti-Muslim Extremists” from their website after attorneys for Maajid Nawaz, a practicing Muslim and prominent Islamic reformer, threatened legal action over his inclusion on the list.
And just what kind of horrors caused the Lies Center to put him and others on the list?
Nawaz — informed by his experience as a former member of a global terror organization and a political prisoner in Egypt — routinely criticizes the fundamentalist interpretation of Islam that gives rise to terrorism. As a result of that work, the SPLC and a coalition of partner organizations that helped create the list accused him of “savaging Islam.”

Ayaan Hirsi Ali, a Somali-born liberal feminist who fled her home country amid civil war and now works at the Hoover Institution, was also branded an “anti-Muslim extremist” by the SPLC.

Like Nawaz, Ali routinely criticizes inhumane practices that are common in majority-Muslim countries, including female genital mutilation, which she herself was subjected to before fleeing Somalia. The report branded her discussion of such topics “toxic.”
The SPLC is nothing but a bunch of leftist asshats trying to destroy anyone guilty of improper thoughts.

A rainy Saturday evening is a fine time

to stay dry and check things out.

Crap like this is why the CDC got slapped down,

and why we don't trust them.
Now Kleck has unearthed some lost CDC survey data on the question. The CDC essentially confirmed Kleck's results. But Kleck didn't know about that until now, because the CDC never reported what it found.
(Gee, I wonder why...)
Kleck's new paper—"What Do CDC's Surveys Say About the Frequency of Defensive Gun Uses?"—finds that the agency had asked about DGUs in its Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System in 1996, 1997, and 1998.
...
For those who wonder exactly how purely scientific CDC researchers are likely to be about issues of gun violence that implicate policy, Kleck notes that "CDC never reported the results of those surveys, does not report on their website any estimates of DGU frequency, and does not even acknowledge that they ever asked about the topic in any of their surveys."

So the 'non-partisan' CDC did a real study, found LOTS of defensive gun uses, and buried it.  Then bitched and whined when called on playing political games.

She has the right to be a nasty bitch, and donors

have the right to say "I don't want my money supporting her."  Deal with it, Fresno.
As Michael Williamson put it:
The Right: “I have this perfectly reasonable opinion.”

The Left: “OMG HATE SPEECH! YOU’RE FIRED AND YOUR SOCIAL MEDIA IS BANNED AND YOUR JOB IS FORFEIT AND YOUR BUSINESS WILL BE SUED INTO BANKRUPTCY.”

Randa Jarrar: “Barbara Bush was a racist and I’m glad she’s dead and I hope her husband suffers and eff you because I can never be fired.”

The Right: “Wow. That’s not right.”

The Left: “FREE SPEECH FREE SPEECH FREE SPEECH YOU FASCISTS!”

Google being run by intolerant leftists may well have a price.  A big one.   Good.

But recognizing their real enemies would mean criticizing some people and groups on the left.  And the people this is aimed at won't do that.

What?  Banning guns for the commoners didn't get rid of crime? Impossible!

You've got a socialist hellhole that doesn't want said commoners to have any way to fight back; what the left wants here.

Friday evening has arrived;

you know what that means

People who should be remembered include Dr. John Plunkett,

who made a real difference in a lot of lives by testifying.

Also to be remembered are the prosecutors who went after him for doing so; them so their disgusting acts will not be forgotten.

About that Cadet,

here's what it looks like
42" long, weighs about 6.25 pounds, very light, and well-balanced.  If there were any question about what country it came from,
that should take care of it.  Also this stamp on the stock

It's a lovely thing, and I want one.  Especially since I now know how to put the ammo together.

About that ammunition... a lot of these, after import to the US, were rechambered to .32-20 so you could use an easily(or more-easily) available ammo.  Problem is, .32-20 bullets are about ten-thousandths too small in diameter, which means lousy accuracy.  Since suitable bullets were almost impossible to find for quite a while, a lot of them were bored out and either rebarreled or rechambered/rifled to a larger cartridge, or a liner put in to change them to something else.  .22LR was very popular.  They've been changed to cartridges from .22lr to .22 Hornet to .357 Mag and such.  Nowadays, if I found one that'd been rechambered, I'd see about using the RCBS heeled bullet in the .32-20 cases; ought to work nicely.

Added: a lot of those that reached the US(Britain, for that matter) were dismantled and the receivers used to make target and hunting rifles.  Many of which are still happily being used to put holes in targets.

About that bullet: it being larger than the case, it means crimping is, ah, difficult; a modern seating/crimping die won't do it(at least the one the owner has).  The first loads we put together, the heel was a tight-enough fit into the case that we used the seating die to push them into place; after that, you could seat the bullet with finger pressure.  Which is exactly what a lot of people do; not something you'd want to carry in a pocket, but fine for the range.  I've read of modifying a Lee Factory Crimp die in .32-20 to crimp the case mouth around the heel.

The original Kynoch rounds have a 'stab' crimp; three places around the case, some type of punch die was used, each as if you took a center punch and upset the case metal into the heel.

Lubing: I used LLA.  Some people use a .323" sizing die to size and lube(I've read that getting it adjusted correctly is a pain, some have had to plug the lower lube holes to keep the mess down), others seat the bullet in the case, then dip the bullet into melted lube just deep enough to get some into the lube groove.  The LLA seems to work quite well, and is simple to do.

That about covers my knowledge on this, and thanks to the folks who commented on the 'obsolete ammo' post.

ConCarolinas is a science-fiction convention

that has knuckled under to a bunch of leftists threatening violence.  And doesn't have the balls to publicly say so.
Published April 16, 2018 | By Jada

ConCarolinas and John Ringo have mutually agreed he will not attend the 2018 event. ConCarolinas wants to provide a positive environment for everyone who attends our events from our guests, attendees, vendors, and staff.

We represent a diverse range of opinions and support that.

We will not tolerate harassment or bullying as stated in our policy.

Any comments regarding this may be sent to concarolinas@concarolinas.org

ConCarolinas ConCom
Jada Diaz, ConChair
Dawson Kriska, Vice Chair
Sue Lambert, Secretary and Treasurer
Luis Diaz, Director of Security

Slight problem with 'mutually':
This was John’s response on Facebook:
And again with the 'we do not tolerate harassment or bullying' without pointing out who that is pointed at.

From my last email with the conchair:
"as ConChair I know this will be an extremely hostile environment and I am concerned for your personal safety. "

It was mutual, more on that in a moment. But they very much rescinded because they were concerned for my safety.

That was how bad it was getting.
Etc.  If they'd said "He won't be here because other people were threatening violence" they'd have been  honest, but it would've pissed-off the leftists, so they didn't even do that.

Never been there, have heard from others that it's been a nice con.  'Been' being the important word.

And while the media is screaming "Trump! Hannity! Same lawyer!!",

one of the things they're not reporting on:
The House Office of Inspector General charged in Sept. 30, 2016 that data was being funneled off the House network by the Awans as recently as September 2016 — shortly before the presidential election.

Nearly Imran’s entire immediate family was on the House payroll working as IT aides to one-fifth of House Democrats, and he began working for the House in 2004. The inspector general, Michael Ptasienski, testified this month that “system administrators hold the ‘keys to the kingdom’ meaning they can create accounts, grant access, view, download, update, or delete almost any electronic information within an office. Because of this high-level access, a rogue system administrator could inflict considerable damage.”
For some reason this isn't 'newsworthy'; gee, I wonder why...

Oh, and about that marvelous NHS in Canada,

First, some context: “Queen’s Park stopped talking with Ontario’s doctors back in January and is cutting services to save money… In early February, the provincial government decreed that medical services be cut by an average of 5 per cent. This includes a cut to all doctors’ fees by 3 per cent as well as cuts to primary care and specialist services originally designed to assist complex patients. ”

Now the most important quote in the article: “If doctors see more patients than the arbitrary limit the government has set — government will force physicians to pay back any amount over their imposed limit.”
My, doesn't that sound wonderful?  And this is the crap the left wants controlling our lives here.
