Damn. To see some of this up close...
More here.
Thanks to Bob for linking this
Whereas if I go swimming in Florida I'll probably just get bit in the ass by a shark instead of finding something like this.
But only cops are trained and professional enough...
Police say the woman refused to show her hands, so the officer drew his gun. While drawing the gun, police say the officer accidentally shot the 19-year-old woman in the leg.
Hey, the SCOAMF has to pay for those cruise missiles he wants to shoot at Syria somehow. And this pays off another union, too!
The Obama administration’s proposed defense budget calls for military families and retirees to pay sharply more for their healthcare, while leaving unionized civilian defense workers’ benefits untouched. The proposal is causing a major rift within the Pentagon, according to U.S. officials. Several congressional aides suggested the move is designed to increase the enrollment in Obamacare’s state-run insurance exchanges.
Speaking of that bastard rushing us to war,
Source close to administration: WH might accept Senate-only approval of Syria strikes. Top WH official says source is "just guessing."
And, from those wonderful people in Iran,
And in an unprecedented statement, a former Iranian official has warned of mass abductions and brutal killings of American citizens around the world and the rape and killing of one of Obama’s daughters should the United States attack Syria.
And more corruption from the Obamacare enforcers:
At the same time the IRS harassed Republican nonprofit groups during the 2012 political campaign, it selectively advised black churches and other Democrat nonprofits on how far they can go in campaigning for President Obama and other Democrats.
The IRS has thrown any reason to trust the agency. About anything, ever. Violations of law, of ethics, lying to Congress, lying to us...
If this information is correct...
When Morsi was arrested last month, the Egyptian military discovered a pile of documents linking the Obama regime with the illegal activities of the Muslim Brotherhood. Investigative journalist Jerome Corsi has obtained a copy of the document held by the Egyptian military, proving the Obama regime sent millions of dollars in bribes to the Muslim Brotherhood, paid out by the U.S. Consulate.
Conveniently, the President’s brother…is one of the architects of the major investments of the Muslim Brotherhood and oversees an $8 billion dollar bribe to the Muslim Brotherhood made by the Obama regime. The bribe was payment to guarantee that the huge tract of Egyptian land, the Sinai Peninsula, be turned over to the Muslim Brotherhood sister group Hamas, The Muslim Brotherhood and Hamas mince no words about their goals for Israel, which is total annihilation.

It's not just research on guns and such that gets slanted
by academics with an axe to grind.
Chagnon: I began to understand that a small number of colleagues were feeling “rubbed the wrong way”—as you put it—when they began criticizing some of my work in less than academically appropriate ways, like making accusations that did not follow from what I had claimed in the publications they were criticizing. Over time their criticisms increased in severity and academically unacceptable ways. Most of my critics worked in or near the Amazon Basin and among tribes similar to the Yanomamö and much of their motivation stemmed from professional jealousy, which gradually became much more political in tone, like the claim that my publications were “causing harm” to the people I studied. This eventually shifted to the claim that I was guilty of “racism” and “genocide” in my writings—they called it “academic genocide”—but it was genocide nevertheless. The “nicety” of “academic” was soon dropped. These accusations came principally from colleagues who were studying tribes in the Amazon basin who were political activists and who subscribed to Marxist anthropological views.

Proof of what friggin' morons are sitting in the White House
"Or, if not, at a minimum, we thought perhaps a shared evidentiary base could convince Russia or Iran — itself a victim of Saddam Hussein's monstrous chemical weapons attacks in 1987-1988 — to cast loose a regime that was gassing it's people," she said.

That worked nicely
On that chamber cleaning tool, I found a handle from a cheap craft knife set; unscrew the knurled collar and it lets the blue inner piece loosen so you can slide the tang of a blade in. However, it also has a hole down the center, and after spreading it a bit
it makes a nice handle for the tool.

You want proof elections matter?
Biden wants Napolitano on the Supreme Court.
If that thought doesn't scare the !(#) out of you, you're either far braver or far dumber than I.

So now they're talking lots more targets, and aircraft as well as ships making strikes.
Which puts aircraft in range of Syrian AA, and wouldn't the Russians love it if some of their newer equipment took out some US aircraft?

Must be due to all those massacres committed with empty brass?
Washington police are operating under orders to arrest tourists and
other non-residents traveling with spent bullet or shotgun casings, a
crime that carries a $1,000 fine, a year in jail and a criminal record,
according to a new book about the city's confusing gun laws.
"Empty shell casings are considered ammunition in Washington, D.C., so they are illegal to possess unless you are a resident and have a gun registration certificate," pens Emily Miller in her investigative book, "Emily Gets Her Gun: ... But Obama Wants to Take Yours."
Or they just want to screw with people in every way possible. I'd vote for that.
The EPA has refused to publicly explain why it used armed officers as part of what it called a “multi-jurisdictional” investigation of possible Clean Water Act violations in the area.
A: Since when does a bureaucrat get to 'refuse to publicly explain' ?
B: Anyone who thinks intimidation isn't a part of this...
"Don't be evil. Unless it pays, one way or another." Screw Google.

Over at bookface, on the Starbucks Appreciation Page,
the anti-rights people seem to have devolved to
insults,
semi-literate 'comments',
bad spelling,
threats,
and "THERE IS A LOOPHOLE, I SAY THERE IS, THERE IS!!"
'Squirrely' doesn't even begin to cover it.
THAT is something I'd never have thought of for a buffing wheel.
This could get interesting:
In a brief filed in federal court, the NRA argues that the National Security Agency's database of phone records amounts to a "national gun registry."
"It would be absurd to think that the Congress would adopt and maintain a web of statutes intended to protect against the creation of a national gun registry, while simultaneously authorizing the FBI and the NSA to gather records that could effectively create just such a registry," the group writes.
Damn, why don't the weather weenies around here look like this?

Why I despise John McCain, Reason #37
The Arizona Republican threatened
earlier this week to vote against a White House draft resolution unless
President Barack Obama promised greater support to Syria’s rebels.
McCain then expressed support after meeting Obama at the White House.
He now opposes a resolution crafted by
Democratic Sen. Bob Menendez of New Jersey and Republican Sen. Bob
Corker of Tennessee. It puts a 90-day limit on action and says no
American troops can be sent into Syria.
Asked if he supported it, McCain said, “In its current form, I do not.”
Bastard wants to hand lots of goodies to the rebels- which means arming aQ- and now this?

Obama then:
The amendment quotes from a response Obama gave the Boston Globe back in 2007 as a Senator, in which Obama said that “the President does not have the power under the Constitution to unilaterally authorize a military attack in a situation that does not involve stopping an actual or imminent threat to the nation.”
vs. Obama now:
"We may not be directly imminently threatened by what's taking place in a Kosovo or a Syria or a Rwanda in the short-term but our long-term national security will be impacted in a profound way and our humanity's impacted in a profound way."
Sounds remarkably like Some have said we must not act until the threat is imminent. Since when have terrorists and tyrants announced their intentions, politely putting us on notice before they strike?
If this threat is permitted to fully and suddenly emerge, all actions, all words and all recriminations would come too late. Trusting in the sanity and restraint of Saddam Hussein is not a strategy, and it is not an option.
doesn't it? And Obama thinks/thought that was garbage. My, how things change.

Asked about the possibility of deploying U.S. troops into Syria,
Secretary of State John F. Kerry didn’t rule it out.
“I don’t want to take off the table an option that might or might not be on the table,” he said — a turn of phrase designed to keep open the possibility that troops could be deployed into the country if the situation escalates.
Yeah, let's not only blow things up in the name of helping aQ & Co.- who want to burn the forests down-, let's put troops on the ground where they can be shot at by both sides!
Added: then he waffled. Surprise!
And that clown McCain takes this debate SO seriously...
I am so damn sick of the bastard.
And Boehner and Cantor have sold themselves(also Surprise!); I wonder if they were cheap whores or call girls?
Yeah, we're supposed to trust who, anymore?
Evidence points to a December raid of the Riverview Gun Shop in East Windsor, Conn., where Sandy Hook Elementary School murderer Adam Lanza’s mother reportedly purchased the Bushmaster rifle used in the massacre, as being an event staged more for media fanfare than for public safety, legal documents issued to authorize the raid indicate.*
*Yes, I know trusting ATF is just about insane, but you know what I mean

Story here
Sharia courts in Britain. Women tend to get screwed, and they obey British law when they fell like it; anyone surprised?
On the subject of British law: I'd be guilty of 'aggravated knife possession' most every day of my life, as would most people who read my words. One thing to commit a crime with one; another to be in danger of jail just for having one.
Also, they want to make it more expensive to own a firearm. As a purely fiscal matter, of course.
He said: “I think there’s great concern in the shooting community that costs will rise and many people feel this is a back door way of controlling the numbers of people in the shooting community.
You think maybe?
Tam notes Ariel Castro stopped using perfectly serviceable oxygen; and about time.
Sen. Menendez took time out from foreign trips and underage hookers to try to give Obama a version of what he wants. Note that after all the huffing about 'a need to act NOW' by Obama and Kerry,
With the House and Senate expected to set deadlines for authorization votes by the end of next week, House leaders wouldn’t have much time to draft and approve their own rewrites, especially given the diverse and often free-wheeling membership of the House Foreign Affairs Committee that could result in a marathon markup should that panel be given jurisdiction over the matter.
Following a lengthy
Not exactly in a hurry to have this voted on, are they? Which probably suits Obama just fine: now if they vote 'No' he can bitch about how those nasty people kept the king from doing good works.

I will note that Erin had, call it a 'coming out'
of sorts the other day.
This has enjoined some discussion, and some people she'd known got seriously upset.
Personal view: We've all got stuff to deal with; if this by Erin causes you serious upset, you've got a much more perfect life than mine since you apparently have nothing else to get upset about.
