At the same time, the FMS said the debt stayed at exactly $16,699,396,000,000 in its Daily Treasury Statements, which are published every business day.

All forced-entry police raids could be recorded in a tamper-proof format, and the videos made available to the public through a simple open records request. This could be done efficiently and inexpensively. Even better, it wouldn't be difficult to equip the officers participating in a raid with cameras mounted on their helmets, jackets, or guns. Not only would recording all raids help clear up disputes about how long police waited after knocking, whether police knocked at all, or who fired first, but the knowledge that every raid would be recorded would also encourage best practices among the SWAT teams. Additionally, recordings of raids would provide an accurate portrayal of how drug laws are actually enforced. It’s likely that many Americans aren’t fully aware how violent these tactics can be. Perhaps many would still support tactical raids for drug warrants even after being exposed to videos of drug raids. But if the drug war is being waged to protect the public, the public should be able to see exactly how the war is being waged.

'Race Warlord Poverty Pimps';
there are reasons Denny came up with the term. Here's a good one:
Congresswoman Corrine Brown (D) is following in the footsteps of Reverends Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson, as well as her fellow Florida colleague in the U.S. Congress, Frederica Wilson (D), by using race to explain why an early voting location situated in a predominantly black community was moved. Jacksonville’s Supervisor of Elections stated that the reason for the move was to cut back on monthly expenses that exceed $57,000 at the location in question, including utilities.
The new location would only cost taxpayers about $40,000 a year.
My first thought? "I wonder how much of that $57k PER MONTH was going to something other than election matters..."
We’ve talked about this before, but in fact, I don’t think there has ever been a country like ours, where our elites are deliberately taught – in our best schools – to hate and despise everything that we are, everything that makes us unique. I don’t think there has ever been another country where our elites are taught to be ashamed to call themselves by our national name.
Or rather, there have been countries like that – but they were countries who’d lost a war, and where the governing elite were in fact puppets of their erstwhile enemy, sent in to utterly destroy what the country used to be and to make sure that it did not rise again and (maybe) next time win the war.

The foot's better, but it's going to take a while. The swelling's way down, but that toe and the area around is still sore and kind of tingly. I shall now find somewhere else to put it up.
One of the sucky things? The antibiotics I'm taking say 'Avoid prolonged exposure to sunlight', which makes sitting out back problematic.

Piers Morgan is a hoplophobic gun bigot who'd rather see women raped
and dead than armed.

Now for a status update
on three things:
First, the foot is improving. Swelling's down, but I still don't want to walk much, or stand on it much, and the fever feels about gone(I think my thermometer's screwed, so can't tell for sure). Happily, it appears the antibiotics aren't screwing with me.
The report on the Magholder will take longer, because haven't been out much to wear it.
Quite a while back I tried coating a knife with header paint to see how it'd hold up; I set it in the dining area, and it got covered up, so hasn't been used much(almost at all). It's now sitting by the cutting board for actual use.
Confession time: it looked so nice I took a pistol that had a worn finish and refinished it with the same paint. Figured I'd let it cure, bake it, then shoot and carry it to see how it holds up. Shortly after that, the current ammo/components crisis started, so it hasn't been fired as much as had planned. Or carried as much(different story). So today I'm going to start carrying it as much as I can, at least around the house, and start seeing how this finish holds up.

I got sucked into a couple of threads on the Starbucks Appreciation page, and dear DEITY, sometimes I forget just how
dishonest and/or
partisan and/or
effing stupid some of these people are...
'They said Obama wanted your guns, but you still have them; don't you feel stupid?'
Point out Obama's own words going back a decade, it doesn't matter; Feinstein's, Schumer's, the CSGV, on and on, it doesn't matter: 'They haven't actually taken your guns, so there was never any threat of it! The NRA suckered you!' And on, and on.
Oh, and since all people who treasure the 2nd Amendment are conservatives we're all racists and bigots and- well, you know the drill.
