Widener's has a piece on the difference between

open-tip match bullets and hollow points.  If you've never dug into this, basically OTM bullets tend to be very accurate but will not (reliably at least) expand in a soft target, whereas HP bullets will, though some may not be as accurate in your rifle.  So the one for target, the other for hunting, generally.
