The radical activist group ACORN “works” for the Democratic Party and deliberately promotes election fraud, ACORN employees told FBI investigators, according to an FBI document dump Wednesday.
The documents obtained by Judicial Watch, a watchdog group, are FBI investigators’ reports related to the 2007 investigation and arrest of eight St. Louis, Mo., workers from ACORN’s Project Vote affiliate for violation of election laws. All eight employees involved in the scandal later pleaded guilty to voter registration fraud.
Project Vote is ACORN’s voter registration arm. Project Vote continues to operate despite the reported dissolution of the national structure of ACORN.
The handwritten reports by FBI agents show that ACORN employees reported numerous irregularities in the nonprofit group’s business practices.
One employee told the FBI that ACORN headquarters is “wkg [working] for the Democratic Party.”

"We don't allow firearms in the park," said Mr. Szymanski, whose department oversees law enforcement of county parks. "It's a public facility, and if you walk around with a gun, you're going to intimidate a lot of people. Our position is we're not allowing it and we're going to ask for clarification on that point."

Five weeks ago Escambia County officials requested permission from the Mobile Unified Command Center to use a sand skimmer, a device pulled behind a tractor that removes oil and tar from the top three feet of sand, to help clean up Pensacola’s beaches. County officials still haven’t heard anything back. Santa Rosa Island Authority Buck Lee told The Daily Caller why: “Escambia County sends a request to the Mobile, Ala., Unified Command Center. Then, it’s reviewed by BP, the federal government, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and the Coast Guard. If they don’t like it, they don’t tell us anything.”

Experts–who were consulted by Interior Secretary Ken Salazar before he issued his May 27 report recommending a six-month moratorium on all ongoing drilling in waters deeper than 500 feet–now tell The New Orleans Times-Picayune that they only supported a six-month ban on new drilling in waters deeper than 1,000 feet. A letter from the experts protesting the use of their names to support a ban they actually oppose reads: “A blanket moratorium is not the answer. It will not measurably reduce risk further and it will have a lasting impact on the nation’s economy which may be greater than that of the oil spill. We do not believe punishing the innocent is the right thing to do.”

Now that I know Security Staff(Trainee) isn'g going to bite me,
I can get back to normal stuff. Y'see, he made a trip to the vet today to be fixed. "Boss! You left me here with those people! They DID THINGS to me! Take me home!!" Which I did, where SS(Senior) proceeded to sniff him up, down and sideways to make sure of things. According to a new report in the Philadelphia Bulletin, "the subpoena of Twitter also contained a cover letter asking Twitter not to disclose the action and, if it planned to do so, to contact a deputy attorney general, so the state could seek a court order to prohibit Twitter from revealing the organization had been subpoenaed." So before telling anyone about the order, they were instructed to tell the AG's office so that the AG could attempt to legally bar them from telling anyone about the order.

Polls have showed strong support for Arizona's immigration law even in blue states, but I was under the apparent delusion that people were drawing a distinction between illegal aliens from Mexico in the United States and Mexicans in Mexico.
If the commenters responding to this Yahoo! News account of a Mexican teenager begin shot to death by a U.S. Border Patrol Officer are any indication, I was way, way off.
Among the reasons,
That Mexican authorities may have been captured on video crossing the border into the U.S. to retrieve the shell casing—perhaps to try to frame the U.S. officer as being inside Mexico by placing the casing on their side of the border—certainly doesn't help issues.

Former army Capt. Brian Freeman, an expert on the Kokoda Trail – a 60-mile trek through rugged mountainous country and rainforest of the island – said Monday he was led to the Eora Creek battle site where he found the remains of the soldiers.
The jobs growth is so slow, Rosenberg says, that by his calculations "it is going to take years, probably five to seven years, before we recoup the employment (lost) from the Great Recession," he says. Five to seven years? "There's a significant chance," he adds, "that for the first time ever we will go into the next recession without having seen a new peak in employment."

Now, Philip Shenon writes over at the Daily Beast, Manning claims to have downloaded 260,000 diplomatic cables from U.S. government computer networks containing classified and embarrassing material such as American diplomats' very candid assessments of foreign leaders, mainly in the Middle East.

Well, it appears Dr. Johnny Roy doesn't want to answer the question
of how he stands on the 2nd Amendment. I sent twice last week to the address on his website, and have had no answer.
That generally means a politician either doesn't think a question is worth answering, or knows the answer won't be liked by many. Either way, it doesn't say good things about the Johnny Roy campaign.

What I was not aware of at the time was that grocery stores and large supermarket chains have become substantial funders of anti-Wal-Mart activism.

The hard-Left MP made his sickening attack on the ex-Tory Premier as he tried to persuade union delegates to back him.

Today’s WSJ has an interesting and eye-opening article on corporate-funded opposition to proposed Wal-Mart stores disguised as local community activism. When I saw local busybodies try to stop the opening of a Wal-Mart in Cleveland — a Wal-Mart that did not receive any local subsidies nor require the use of eminent domain — I realized that union groups backed the effort. What I was not aware of at the time was that grocery stores and large supermarket chains have become substantial funders of anti-Wal-Mart activism.
And Iran wants to join Turkey in stirring up crap over Gaza:
“The naval wing of the Revolutionary Guard is ready to assist the peace flotilla to Gaza with all its effort and capabilities,” Khamenei’s Revolutionary Guard spokesman Ali Shirazi stated. “If the Supreme Leader issues an order for this then the Revolutionary Guard naval forces will do their best to secure the ships,” Shirazi said. “It is Iran’s duty to defend the innocent people of Gaza.”
A couple of points. This isn’t coming from Ahmadinejad. This is coming from Iranian supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei (the offer, per Reuters, was made today in an interview). So this should be viewed with much more credibility, since Khamenei is where the real decision making rests with the Iranian regime.
Second point – it wouldn’t at all surprise me if Iran attempted such a thing. It would help their relations with the Arab world, it would divert attention to their favorite external enemy (besides the US) and, if they can provoke violence, further alienate Israel. It might also help them avoid really harmful sanctions. What are the lives of a few Revolutionary Guard naval forces with that sort of beneficial pay-off in the offing?

WTF???!!!

Connections, connections...
We already knew that BP and its folks were significant contributors to the record $750-million war chest of Barack Obama's 2007-08 campaign.
Now, we learn the details of a connection of Rahm Emanuel, the Chicago mayoral wannabe, current Obama chief of staff, ex-representative, ex-Clinton money man and ex-Windy City political machine go-fer.
Shortly after Obama's happy inaugural, eyebrows rose slightly upon word that, as a House member, Emanuel had lived the last five years rent-free in a D.C. apartment of Democratic colleague Rep. Rosa DeLauro of Connecticut and her husband, Stanley Greenberg.
For an ordinary American, that would likely raise some obvious tax liability questions. But like Emanuel, the guy overseeing the Internal Revenue Service now is another Obama insider, Tim Geithner, who had his own outstanding tax problems but skated through confirmation anyway by the Democratic-controlled Congress.
Remember this was all before the letters BP stood for Huge Mess. Even before the Obama administration gave BP a safety award.

Greenberg's company is also closely tied to a sister Democratic outfit -- GCS, named for the last initials of Greenberg, James Carville, another Clinton advisor, and Bob Shrum, John Kerry's 2004 campaign manager.
According to published reports, GCS received hundreds of thousands of dollars in political polling contracts in recent years from the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee.

Black caucus Chairwoman Barbara Lee, D-Calif., is among the sponsors, but the full 42-member caucus did not endorse the measure. Lee declined comment through a spokesman.
Translation: "Dammit, we're tired of you actually investigating when we pull something! So stop!!"

A senior officer of the Israel Defence Forces has accused the peace activists on the Mavi Marvara of being military personnel trained in Afghanistan and other countries in Asia and Eastern Europe.
The officer, quoted in the Hebrew newspaper Maariv on Sunday, claimed, “These men were trained in camps in Afghanistan, Pakistan, Indonesia and Bulgaria. We are talking about more than fifty persons in their thirties, very strong, dressed in bullet-proof vests, and equipped with night-vision goggles, masks and protective clothing.” According to the unnamed officer, blank cartridges of US origin but different to those used by Israeli forces were found on the Turkish ship when it was hijacked by Israel last week.

Senior civil servants warned ministers that if they ordered a public inquiry into the July 7 suicide bombings it could "focus negatively" on Britain's Muslim community, it can be revealed.
The warning was delivered in a briefing paper to Charles Clarke, the then-home secretary, as he considered whether or not to launch an inquiry into the 2005 bombings, in which 52 innocent people were killed.
In the paper, Sir John Gieve, the Home Office permanent secretary, said that upsetting Muslims would be a "potential cost" of ministers agreeing to demands for a full inquiry.
Yeah, screw the truth, can't do anything that might upset the muzzies, can we?

But if the ethics committee’s findings come out after the primary, Rangel will very likely survive and win a 21st term in the House. Still, that timing would raise questions about the ethics committee’s process and whether the investigative panel was too aware of the political calendar.

It was no scheduling accident.
With images of overheated, finger-waving crowds still seared into their minds from the discontent of last August, many Democrats heeded the advice of party leaders and tried to avoid unscripted question-and-answer sessions. The recommendations were clear: hold events in controlled settings — a bank or credit union, for example — or tour local businesses or participate in community service projects.
And to reach thousands of constituents at a time, without the worry of being snared in an angry confrontation with voters, more lawmakers are also taking part in a fast-growing trend: the telephone town meeting, where chances are remote that a testy exchange will wind up on YouTube.
Translation: "If we do it this way, we can control who's there to some extent AND control the questions! And make ourselves look better!"

Researchers have now for the first time discovered the true extent of the epic journeys made by saltwater crocodiles and uncovered how they manage to cover such large distances.
By analysing data from satellite tracking tags, the scientists found that the crocodiles exploit surface currents around coastlines and out to sea to help them travel large distances.
By riding these currents, the crocodiles are able to hop between oceanic islands and make long migrations around the Australian coastline.
One 12ft long crocodile tracked by researchers travelled 366 miles in 25 days around the Australian coast while another 15ft reptile rode seasonal currents off Australia's Cape York Peninsula for 20 days, travelling 255 miles.

Satellite photos of a suspicious site in Syria are providing new support for the reporting of a Syrian journalist who briefly rocked the world with his reporting that Iraq’s WMD had been sent to three sites in Syria just before the invasion commenced.
The newspaper reveals that a 200 square-kilometer area in northwestern Syria has been photographed by satellites at the request of a Western intelligence agency at least 16 times, the most recent being taken in January. The site is near Masyaf, and it has at least five installations and hidden paths leading underneath the mountains. This supports the reporting of Nizar Nayouf, an award-winning Syrian journalist who said in 2004 that his sources confirmed that Saddam Hussein’s WMDs were in Syria.

Reporters speculated on Meet the Press on Sunday that McCain wants to make amends with conservatives well before he officially announces his candidacy for president next year. So can he convince people he is still sufficiently conservative?
Let’s consider just one of these issues: McCain’s claimed pro-gun record. This was true a decade ago, but since then, on issues such as regulating gun shows, banning less expensive guns and so-called assault weapons, and requiring gunlocks, McCain has supported central portions of the gun-control agenda. Indeed, in a couple cases, McCain authored the proposed legislation himself.
You've had multiple chances, John. And the last time you were so busy playing 'hands across the aisle' that you couldn't be bothered to actually RUN because doing so might upset 'moderates' like your idiot adviser who said "If you bring up these things about Obama, I'll quit!" The proper response to that would have been "Don't let the door hit you on the way out", but nooooo, you caved.
And now we're supposed to believe and trust you? Bullcrap. And take that idiot 'progressive Republican' daughter with you when you go.

'Cartel plotted to blow up Texas dam'
Mexican and U.S. authorities were "secretly scrambling" last month to thwart a Mexican drug cartel's plot to blow up a Texas dam that would have flooded an area with about 4 million inhabitants, according to the Houston Chronicle's Dane Schiller and James Pinkerton.
Law enforcement officials were reportedly tipped off to a plot when they found one of the handbills that the drug cartel Los Zetas was distributing on the Mexican side of the river, warning residents to clear out ahead of the explosion. Authorities found "small amounts of dynamite near the dam," the Chronicle said.
'Small amounts' isn't a real comforting thing, as we don't know what they're calling 'small'.
Police Capt. Francisco Garcia of Roma, Texas, told the Chronicle that the traffickers would have needed a tractor-trailer full of dynamite to pull off the explosion.
A: Considering everything else they can get, lots of explosives wouldn't be much of a problem, I'd think.

Here it is June, the busts happened in late March...when did the federal grand jury first get this information and why has what would appear on the surface to be relatively straightforward evidence taken this long to be deliberated?

Further evidence that any bill Sen. Schumer(NSD Bastard-NY) likes
is a freakin' disaster for this country.
There is one key to the Schumer-backed DISCLOSE Act that makes it dangerous for gun owners who want to organize in any meaningful manner: disclosure of all donors/members whose money may have funded independent expenditures to the FEC.
The bastard and his friends just can't stand it that people have the right to oppose them without paying a penalty, so they want to create at least the threat of penalty to try to shut people up.

He and his party have traded on America and Israel hatred ever since. There can be little doubt the Turkish flotilla that challenged the Israeli-Egyptian blockade of Gaza was organized with his approval, if not encouragement. Mr. Erodogan's foreign minister, Ahmet Davutoglu, is a proponent of a philosophy which calls on Turkey to loosen Western ties to the U.S., NATO and the European Union and seek its own sphere of influence to the east. Turkey's recent deal to help Iran enrich uranium should come as no surprise.

Yeah, I'm sure this'll never be misused
A massive auto safety overhaul bill has made its way out of committee and onto the floor of the House of Representatives for voting. According to Automotive News, the biggest changes that the bill proposes is the mandatory addition of black boxes and brake override mechanisms to all new cars and trucks. The event-data recorders would track information shortly before and after an accident for a specified period of time in order to help investigators determine the cause of an accident.
And what will that 'specified period' be? And will it STAY at whatever they currently decide, or start creeping up(all for the public good, of course)?
For that matter, will it also track location? If they say no, how will we know that's true? We're supposed to trust these clowns?

Well, no matter what the Israelis do, the EU and UN and so forth are going to call them names and blame them for whatever the problem is.
The Isrealis know this, but they've tried to work within self-set boundaries anyway; they've put troops at greater risk to try to avoid civilian casualties(generally a good thing) but they've taken it to the extent of, in many cases, preventing the military from largely or fully accomplishing the job; which means they don't wipe out a nest of terrorists, they don't clean out an area, and they catch all the crap anyway. I think they're likely to stop this in the near future(I hope). This started off not long ago, apparently there wasn't much knowledge of this outside of those setting it up until TMRO started talking about it.
Governor Henry's spokesperson said there hasn't been a final decision, but a legislative source close to the Department of Public Safety told FOX23, Governor Henry has already told the Department of Public Safety to move ahead with the installation of the cameras.
The idea is to check for uninsured motorists and make some money doing it. The proposal is to install 200 cameras on highways. The cameras read every license plate as you drive by, checking your license plate with an insurance database. But some worry it may find other personal information.
It's called automatic license plate recognition.
Now, there are a number of arguments to be made on this, but one thing that's caused a lot of problems with red-light cameras in many places is money:
The state wouldn't pay for the system; the company would be reimbursed from funds received from fines or administrative penalties.
Which opens up all kinds of possible problems. But one of the most basic problems is "If this is such a good idea, why wasn't it openly brought up and debated?
No attention was drawn to the $50 million-in-new-revenue plan until The McCarville Report Online began a series of articles about it last Friday.
No attention in a major way, that is. But months ago, Norman blogger Kaye Beach was asking pointed questions about the plan. She, along with fellow blogger Andrew Griffin, delivered a letter to Governor Henry's office asking that "sunlight" be allowed to shine on the plan. She never got a response.

The system, which would place 220 cameras across the state to photograph the license plates of passing vehicles,is designed to catch insurance scofflaws, those without the mandatory vehicle insurance.
But privacy advocates and civil libertarians see a much more sinister use of the information that would be gathered by the cameras. They note the apparent ease of tracking the movements of motorists, and the ability of the state to harvest unrelated information about the vehicle owner and place it into a computer database. That fear appears to be reinforced by advocates of the "Automated License Plate Recognition" (ALPR) system.
Governor Henry proposed the system as part of an effort to raise new revenue. The push to put the system in place, and those involved, was not revealed in full until The McCarville Report Online published a series of stories about it. (Access those stories by clicking on the Highway Cameras label below.) Norman blogger Kaye Beach first reported on the plan; she and Oklahoma City blogger Andrew Griffin followed its development. Journal-Record columnist Scott Carter also called attention to the plan.
This started off not long ago, apparently there wasn't much knowledge of this outside of those setting it up until TMRO started talking about it.
Governor Henry's spokesperson said there hasn't been a final decision, but a legislative source close to the Department of Public Safety told FOX23, Governor Henry has already told the Department of Public Safety to move ahead with the installation of the cameras.
The idea is to check for uninsured motorists and make some money doing it. The proposal is to install 200 cameras on highways. The cameras read every license plate as you drive by, checking your license plate with an insurance database. But some worry it may find other personal information.
It's called automatic license plate recognition.
Now, there are a number of arguments to be made on this, but one thing that's caused a lot of problems with red-light cameras in many places is money:
The state wouldn't pay for the system; the company would be reimbursed from funds received from fines or administrative penalties.
Which opens up all kinds of possible problems. But one of the most basic problems is "If this is such a good idea, why wasn't it openly brought up and debated?
No attention was drawn to the $50 million-in-new-revenue plan until The McCarville Report Online began a series of articles about it last Friday.

“This is just another strike against the Administration’s story. Why bring in a big gun, like former President Clinton, to offer a meager job to Sestak that he wasn’t even eligible to accept? Either the administration is completely incompetent or there is a cover up. That’s why I’ve called for the FBI to get involved. We’re clearly not going to get a straight story from Sestak or the White House without an official investigation.”

Barack Obama’s close family friends, terrorists Bill Ayers and Bernadine Dohrn, and top campaign bundler Jodie Evans from Code Pink are top activists with the Gaza flotilla group that attacked the IDF today.

Like Hamas they provide humanitarian aid but their clients include Al Qaeda, Hamas, etc. Turkish security forces raided the Istanbul office of IHH. According to the French intelligence, the president of IHH (Bulent Yildirim) recruited “Jihad warriors” and transferred firearms, and explosives to Al Qaeda and other Islamic terrorists organizations. Grips, Part II: the .380
I thought the white grips on it when I got it looked nice, but the left panel was cracked, and they were slightly undersize; they'd shift a bit, and the top front curve would reveal the opening in the frame. I also found out the grip screw was slightly stripped; you could tighten it to barely snug before it would slip. So made this set out of curly maple and made new escutcheons and screw.I think they came out rather well.

Some people dead, some wounded, and lots of "Look what the evil JOOOOOOS did!" To me, the end of the "We only want to get humanitarian supplies to Gaza!" noise is this:

Combine the peaceful, reasonable palistinian bastards with union thugs and what do you get?
While filming a public demonstration on a public sidewalk, my husband was approached by Ali Mallah -- the Vice President of the Canadian Arab Federation, and high ranking member of the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE)/Canadian Labour Congress.
Mallah recognized my husband, crossed the street, and verbally and physically assaulted him.
I want to know why the police didn't handcuff him and drag his ass to jail.
Of course, this is Canada. Which also has crap like this:

My heart goes out to them and their situation; I’m empathetic to the family. I just don’t think the two issues are the same issues. I’m not fighting to prevent her from something, even though they’ve been clear they’d like to build this house to help her with access because of her paralysis. I’m trying to preserve a home that adds character and beauty to my neighbourhood for future generations to enjoy. So: I don’t wish them any harm. I just want to protect that house.”

Let's say they shoot some rockets full of nerve, blister or blood agent into a FOB or city; what will the President do?
This has the potential to get really bad really damn fast.

Recently, 17 students at a Kabul, Afghanistan, girls high school fell ill and had to be hospitalized, along with several teachers. Doctors at the hospital agreed that it was some kind of poison, but have not been able to identify it yet. All the victims smelled something odd when they got to school, then fell ill, with some of the students losing consciousness. This is the second such incident at this school, and there was a similar attack at a girls high school further north.If they have actually begun using chemical weapons, we've got two problems:

As patchwork as city/county/state laws are in some places, can't really say much because I don't know what would be no problem and what might get you in trouble
If you're not sure about local laws on the subject, contact a local gun shop, they might be able to tell you of any prohibitions/restrictions. Or they might sell it for you on commission, or buy it outright. If your area has no prohibition on such, could take it to a gun show and see if someone's interested.

As the Allies fought a fierce rearguard action, some 800 small boats, including trawlers, lifeboats, paddle steamers, tugs, yachts and barges, many skippered by amateur sailors, responded to the appeal for help. As the Luftwaffe bombed and strafed the men on the beaches, they ferried troops over the shallow coastal waters to bigger ships or took them straight back to English ports.
I didn't really want to write about some of this stuff today,
but it needs to be noted. Starting with this:
There's an old expression that you can't get blood from a stone. The government cannot command the impossible -- whether from an evil corporation or from nature itself.
The other is the flat-out arrogant lies: "We were on this from day one", etc. WE KNOW BETTER. EVERYONE knows better. And yet he stood there in front of all and lied. And he apparently expected the lies to simply be accepted because HE said them.
Put those two together, stir in the thin-skinned arrogance he's demonstrated time and again, and...

I can't remember who pointed to this article; lady wound up having to shoot a dog that attacked a girl. Pretty straightforward story, it's the comments that get interesting: lots of "She just HAD to play cowboy!" bullcrap.

Under the DISCLOSE Act, certain incorporated entities would be restricted in how they can exercise their free speech rights. There is an exemption for some in the media sphere like newspapers, TV news, and the like. However, there is one driving force in today's public debate that is NOT exempt. Bloggers will not have the same exemption provided to other media sources. Never mind that the Supreme Court's opinion in the Citizens United case stated, "Differential treatment of media corporations and other corporations cannot be squared with the First Amendment."
For many bloggers to exercise their free speech rights, they would have to jump through the same onerous new hoops as many businesses, nonprofit groups, and even such threats to democracy as your local chamber of commerce. If this sounds like an absurd overreach by one party in power, I invite you to take a look at their government takeover of health care, taxpayer-funded bailouts, and general hostility to private sector economic growth.
This slimy little bastard has such a contempt for the concept of actual free speech, it's amazing. And he'll happily violate his oath of office to attack it.
Connected to this, a proposal to license 'official' journalists. Y'know, if some more of these 'journalists' were actual damned reporters, there'd be a lot less of this bullshit because the politicians would be more worried about their crap being reported on in the major media.
The level of idiocy that the War on Some Drugs has come to; read this to see another prosecutor and bunch of idiots who deserve their place at the tar wagon.

Charles Krauthammer sees Obama as King Canute attempting to command the impossible, while continuing to labor under the belief that a great speech can solve everything. But other than delivering another speech blaming the oil companies and Bush what can he do? Command the oil to stop gushing?
Krauthammer asks, "Why are we drilling in 5,000 feet of water in the first place?" and notes the major role of environmentalists in pushing these operations further and further out -- to places so precarious than when disasters occur (which they inevitably will), they're so much harder to fix. As to the federal government, it is clueless:
The federal government can fight wars, conduct a census, and hand out billions in earmarks, but it has not a clue how to cap a one-mile-deep out-of-control oil well.I'd say there's two separate things here: one is that, despite his "The Constitution doesn't give the government the powers I think it should" crap and his insistent demands that the gummint can take care of EVERYTHING, Obama can't fix this. Never could, any more than Bush could magically make all right after Katrina. It was the left that really began this "The PRESIDENT is responsible for it all!" crap, and this is the continuation: they can't insist Bush was negligent for not waving a magic wand and then excuse their "Thrill up my leg" Lightworker when he doesn't.In the end, speeches will make no difference. If BP can cap the well in time to prevent an absolute calamity in the Gulf, the president will escape politically. If it doesn't -- if the gusher isn't stopped before the relief wells are completed in August -- it will become Obama's Katrina.
That will be unfair, because Obama is no more responsible for the damage caused by this than Bush was for the damage caused by Katrina. But that's the nature of American politics and its presidential cult of personality: We expect our presidents to play Superman. Helplessness, however undeniable, is no defense.
Moreover, Obama has never been overly modest about his own powers. Two years ago next week, he declared that history will mark his ascent to the presidency as the moment when "our planet began to heal" and "the rise of the oceans began to slow."

I used to think, given the enormous size of the bureaucracy and the tragic nature of the human condition, that from time to time disasters would overwhelm us — and there would be not much the president of the United States could do about them. But after Katrina, the media taught me that neither the mayor nor the governor nor the Army Corps of Engineers nor the people of New Orleans were at fault for either the vulnerability to the chance of a catastrophic Katrina or the response after its arrival. No, you see, the commander in chief is the ultimate arbiter of successful or unsuccessful reactions to all such disasters. OK, so be it.
So while I am not inclined to blame Barack Obama for the scandalous federal laxity in the now polluted Gulf, the media long ago taught me that I most certainly should.
