About once or twice a year, one of the local airports hosts some WW II warbirds. B17s, a B24, P51s etc. They each have their own very unique sound. Four 9 cyl radials, 4 14 cylinder radials or a RR Merlin V 12. Just a joy to see and hear. Especially if they are taking civilians for "joyrides" and they fly over again and again.
They were in Colorado Springs a few weeks ago, and for 500 bucks they'd give you a ride! If only I had known about that before instead of after the event.

We saw that at the picnic we were at this afternoon. Didn't get a picture of it, though. I'm glad you did.
