Two days after a mysterious explosion at a Hezbollah weapons depot in
southern Lebanon, the Kuwaiti website Al Jarida is reporting that Israel
bombed the site because Syria had transferred missiles there that were capable of being equipped with chemical warheads. The missiles had been
moved into Lebanon from Syria in the last several months and were being
held inside warehouses owned by farmers in the area.
If true, the Israelis must be cover the area with every asset they've got trying to pin down locations; this is the kind of thing they do NOT want the Palistinians stockpiling.
Speaking of weather scares, currently for OK the NWS is saying
(blablahblah)SOME MODELS TAKE THE TRACK OF HEAVIEST SNOW
ACROSS NORTHERN OKLAHOMA...WHILE OTHERS TAKE IT ACROSS SOUTHERN
PARTS OF OKLAHOMA INTO NORTHERN TEXAS. A CONSENSUS APPROACH TO
THE CURRENT FORECAST TRACKS WOULD TAKE THE HIGHEST SNOW TOTALS
FROM WEST-CENTRAL OKLAHOMA INTO CENTRAL AND SOUTHEAST OKLAHOMA
WHERE AMOUNTS COULD AVERAGE THREE TO SIX INCHES.
yet the summary page for the area shows 20-30% chance of anything.
Covering their bases, I guess
I had to run to the store earlier, and went by the nearby Wally World just to check:
Lots of shotshells, 'standard' hunting/target rifle ammo.
Lots of .40S&W.
Lots of .22 Magnum and shorts.
NO .22lr.
No 9mm.
NO .45acp.
NO .223/5.56.
NO .308/7.62.
You can tell which cartridges/guns people worry about most. Or just want to send a message with most.
Speaking of messages, I rather doubt congresscritters aren't taking note of the sales levels, and just what's going fastest(rather pointed message, that). Still, give them the word anyway. Even if you have a gun-bigot Rep or Senator; they may not like it or say anything, but the more they get, the better the message gets across. Lots of these bastards, for all their posturing, consider keeping themselves in that taxpayer-supplied office the #1 Priority Of All.
