The High Price of Stale Grievances
This is a good piece on the subject.
Yet there we were—young black men born decades after anything that could rightly be called ‘oppression’ had ended—benefitting from a social license bequeathed to us by a history that we have only experienced through textbooks and folklore. And my white Hispanic friend (who could have had a tougher life than all of us, for all I know) paid the price. The underlying logic of using the past to justify racial double-standards in the present is rarely interrogated. What do slavery and Jim Crow have to do with modern-day blacks, who experienced neither? Do all black people have P.T.S.D from racism, as the Grammy and Emmy award-winning artist Donald Glover recently claimed? Is ancestral suffering actually transmitted to descendants? If so, how? What happens when the wind isn't blowing and you've invested heavily in bird cuisinarts?
You desperately hope it's in summer.
The weather can be fickle and the government has to make sure that there is enough back up generation for times when the wind isn’t blowing. Greg Clark, secretary of state for business energy and industrial strategy announced Monday that the U.K. will take the next step toward agreeing to help Hitachi Ltd. finance a new nuclear reactor.
So, people are paying extra for 'green' energy(when it's actually being produced), AND they're going to be paying for the backup systems. Which aren't really backup.

An armed security guard associated with staunch anti-gun and nationally known social activist, Father Michael Pfleger, was arrested on May 27 outside St. Sabina’s Roman Catholic Church on the South Side where Pfleger is a senior pastor.
The Chicago Police (CPD) charged Henry Eugene Hale, 35, with possessing a firearm without a valid Firearm Owners Identification (FOID) card. He was released on $150 bond.
Yep, another "We must ban guns(except for those protecting my precious ass)" clown on display.
And think some plain citizen arrested for the same would get out on that bond? Fat effing chance. And let's see if he's prosecuted the way a citizen not associated with a famous/rich/connected someone would be.

As the officer was backing out of the room, a 2-year-old child, who is believed to have been hiding in the mattresses, began walking toward the device as it was activated.
Third-degree burns on the kid.

Progzi college nominates three progzis to create 'unbiased report'

In a damning verdict on the standard of some modern-day parenting, Amanda Spielman will highlight the rising number of pre-school children who are not taught basic speech or hygiene.
In a speech to nursery leaders in London today, Mrs Spielman will issue a plea to daycare staff to step in and help such children by teaching them basic skills.
A: For it to be bad enough that this statement came out, it must be really bad.
B: Take note of that last bit: ...a plea to daycare staff...
Why, it's like she doesn't expect a lot of parents to do(or be able to do) anything about this.
While Mrs Spielman will not explicitly accuse families of feckless parenting, she will acknowledge that parents 'clearly have the most important role here' when it comes to solving the issues.
Well, no shit. Yet the progressives keep saying that your kids don't belong to YOU, they belong to the State. And parents who do with their kids what most used to do, are giving their kids an 'unfair advantage' and such shit.

He was never asked to leave and he ended the conversation mid-stream and left without allowing us to plead our case. In other words, he told us his feelings about the situation and then left to join the protesters because the news media had arrived.

Some of the lessons learned from working on an oddball cartridge
Access to a small lathe can be somewhere between 'handy' and 'essential'.
The interwebs is your friend; finding load data and other information without it would be seriously difficult.
Speaking of the web, the fact that you can quickly find
a suitable bullet mold,
people who will sell you suitable bullets,
people who, if necessary, will MAKE you a suitable mold,
is an indication of how well we have it in some ways.
Knowing something about casting besides "Melt the lead and pour it in" can make a unsuitable bullet quite suitable. Speaking of that, I did cast some more of those .32 SWC bullets of 15-1 alloy and we tried them again, also with some other powders. This is that bullet over 7.0 of 2400
That's at 30 yards from a so-so rest. Not a bad group, but the real thing is that all holes are nice and round; that bullet of a harder alloy, out of five two of them hit sideways at that distance. 2400 also seems to work well with the 120-grain RCBS bullet
Both of these are going to be tried at longer distance from a solid rest when we can do it.
Also tried a few with W296; one group quite good, the other five very inconsistent. I think the charges were inconsistent; a couple the recoil and sound was very noticeably lighter, so that will have to be tried again.
On that 'the interwebs is your friend' part, it allowed(among other things) to find this site from Australia which lists what their powders are, what they're named in the US, and has some loads for .310 with two different bullets. That powder equivalents page is hugely handy when you're reading load information from people in Australia(and despite the best efforts of the hoplophobes and gun bigots, there are still a lot of gunnies down there).

Knowing something about casting besides "Melt the lead and pour it in" can make a unsuitable bullet quite suitable. Speaking of that, I did cast some more of those .32 SWC bullets of 15-1 alloy and we tried them again, also with some other powders. This is that bullet over 7.0 of 2400
Also tried a few with W296; one group quite good, the other five very inconsistent. I think the charges were inconsistent; a couple the recoil and sound was very noticeably lighter, so that will have to be tried again.
On that 'the interwebs is your friend' part, it allowed(among other things) to find this site from Australia which lists what their powders are, what they're named in the US, and has some loads for .310 with two different bullets. That powder equivalents page is hugely handy when you're reading load information from people in Australia(and despite the best efforts of the hoplophobes and gun bigots, there are still a lot of gunnies down there).

Naturally, the TSA's official definition of troublemaking goes well beyond punching its officers. According to a confidential memo, any behavior that is "offensive and without legal justification" can land a traveler on the list, as can any "challenges to the safe and effective completion of screening." Anyone who has ever "loitered" near a checkpoint could also make the list. So could any woman who pushes a screener's hands away from her breasts.
The memo would be more accurate if it stated that anyone who fails to unquestioningly submit to all the TSA's demands would be found guilty of insubordination. As an attorney for the American Civil Liberties Union, Hugh Handeyside, told the Washington Post, the policy gives the agency wide latitude to "blacklist people arbitrarily and essentially punish them for asserting their rights." Rep. Bonnie Watson Coleman (D-New Jersey) expressed similar worry. "I am concerned about the civil-liberty implications of such a list," she said.
She should be. EVERYONE should be. Especially since the federalized molesters do crap like this:

This is also why the Dept. of 'Justice' needs cleaning out. Anyone who'd push such crap in the name of "He's a violent asshole, but he's federal so we have to defend him" should be gotten rid of. So should the supervisors who defend this kind of crap.

She threw him in jail for 13 months, and banned anyone in the UK from talking about it.

What we need to do, conversely, is make sure everyone knows Everytown is Mike Bloomberg. I won’t mention them without his name if I can help it.
